The Lady that prepares the meals is a wonderful person, though everyone was nice, she stood out among others bc she was so warm and a genuine, cool person. Our requests were respected regarding housekeeping or not. The rooms were clean and the beds slept great. Parking is slim in the front but they have plenty underground and back lot parking. The only thing is room 313 has the wonkiest of door handles. That's the only thing that needed to be addressed. It's very hard to open and sometimes the handle does not engage the latch and you have to fight with it a bit. The pool was perfect and has ADA accessible entry. The hot tub was indeed cold and smelled of urine. Not sure what was going on with that. There a patio area where you can grill as well on their gas grills. The mattress dips in the middle, the bed is positioned right next to the dresser in a way that you'll bruise yourself trying to get around the corner, and the clown-car sized bathtub doesn't hold water. I never had an opportunity to check out the pool and hot tub between rain and jet lag, but it seems okay from what I could see. Didn't check out the fitness center either. Breakfast, though plain, was good enough for me to return for seconds. I don't generally seek extra portions but the turkey sausage was decent. Potatoes are good with ketchup (except they ran out), and the French toast, though a little hard, was okay. Oh, and there is a cockroach inside the bathroom. No thanks. Only 2 small dresser drawers, and a litte closet by the bathroom with iron/board My room was serviced nearly everyday before 11am. I wrote a note to have my bed linens changed for the 3rd night. I ran into the housekeeper and she said she didn't "remake" the 2nd bed because "no one slept in it". Well, no one did BUT I used that bed to lay on with my outside clothes. So, it was dirty and I asked for a change and didn't recieve. Just last night, I felt something keep scratching my ankle. I reached down and it was a DAMN toe Nail clipping! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did the sheets actually get changed from the last person or not!?!? Upset me Hotel views overlooked the city, mostly. Large TVs Pool is onsite, indoors and outdoors. Gym and Laundry facilities on the 4th floor My toilet didn't flush well. Shower was fine. I had issues with my TV having a blank black screen and no audio when I first got there. A maintenance tech was there within minutes to fix. Same with my deadbolt issue. (You can't actually see the deadbolt come out, but it does when you close the door and lock it) The rooms are a little old school, but comfortable. Despite the issues, I would recommend this hotel.

And down stairs is like a basement setting with bathrooms. They do have self parking on the side of the building. Everyone was very nice when we came here. Even as we left and were outside, the employees asked if we enjoyed our time here. (They were on their break)

We decided to use the card on the day we checked out, but they did not serve the buffet that day. They allowed us to order from the menu instead, and that was very good!

I chose the shrimp Milano because I wanted to see how it compared to shrimp Paesano. The dish came with noodles and some vegetables. I thought the dish was great. The location was perfect as everyone was coming from out of state and the location is near the airport. I, the bride, had originally booked a different hotel from my day of getting ready. The other hotel gave me a downgraded room that I had not picked and they had not informed me. They offered me an appetizer as an inconvenience.I canceled with them and The Drury was able to get me a room that same night with no hesitation. As the staff told my parents, anything for the bride to be. My overnight stay was lovely and the staff I encountered were amazing. I am glad we chose to do a room block with them. Not only were we happy but both our families enjoyed their stay.

I've got a lot of good to say along with a few very minor gripes, so let me begin by saying it was so nice to have a free shuttle from the airport, especially after experiencing July Texas weather for the first time. The shuttle driver was friendly and helped me with my luggage, and the short drive to the hotel was very appreciated after a long, tiring flight. I swear, every single person I spoke to at the hotel, down to the janitor, was exceptionally friendly and made sure I didn't need anything. Anything I did need I got immediately. Check-in took about 3 minutes, and when I told the front desk my partner would be visiting in two days, they gave me a kickback drink card for him too. On my second day, I came to the front desk to confirm I had called a week prior to ask for late check-out and it turns out I hadn't, but the front desk tacked it on for free, and I was able to leave at 1 rather than 11 with no extra fee. As for the room, it was sparkling. I didn't find anything that wasn't squeaky clean, and nothing looked run down either. The bed was super comfortable, and didn't transfer any movement from my partner to me, which is impressive given the kind of aerobics he does in his sleep. Something else I enjoyed was that I was able to get the level of light I like. Most hotels are too bright for me, and between the blackout curtains and the amount of lamps, it was easy to make the room as dim or bright as I wanted. There were also more outlets than you could possibly need for your electronics. I counted literally 18, not including the one at the sink to plug in the hair dryer. The A/C worked great, keeping the room perfectly cool despite it being 104 degrees outside on one of the days of my stay. The fridge could have been a bit bigger, but I liked the coffee maker, and was provided more coffee for it multiple times when I asked for it. I also liked that they asked if I wanted daily housekeeping, as I didn't. I don't like when people enter my hotel room. But when I asked for my trash emptied it was done within a half an hour. My only major issue (which as you can see was not major enough to knock a star from my review) is that my room had one of the most poorly designed bathrooms I've ever seen. For starters, the sink is outside of the bathroom proper, meaning you have to open the bathroom door with dirty hands to get to the sink. But this is a valid design choice, and I've seen it in a lot of hotels and apartments. It's just something that gets on my nerves. But the real problem is that the bathroom is so narrow that there is literally no clearance between the tub and the door, meaning you have to either jam yourself next to the toilet or step into the tub to close the door. I ended up not closing it for 90% of my stay. The shower, however, was great. The water pressure is exactly between a firm massaging showerhead and a rainshower, and there was no end to the hot water. There was a large metal grab bar for safety--bonus points for accessibility--and the water didn't splash onto the bathroom floor, which seems to be a pervasive issue with hotel showers. As for the free food and drinks, which I was excited about because I thought it would save me some money, the breakfast was nice. A wider selection than most hotels; sausage, potatoes, scrambled eggs, along with tortillas, cheese, and salsa if you wanted to make breakfast tacos. There was also fresh fruit, coffee, yogurt, bagels, and other baked goods, but the biggest surprise was a woman was making fresh pancakes on a flat-top griddle. While I ate, a staff member was walking from table to table asking everyone how they were doing and if they needed anything else. I've been in fancy restaurants with less attentive service. The kickback though? Skip it. Nothing I tasted was worth it to me, but if you're traveling on a budget and not picky it's not a bad choice. Plus there are lots of kid friendly foods like hot dogs and nachos, so you can definitely keep the little ones' stomachs full. The one drink I got was fine. It's hard to screw up vodka, sprite, and grenadine. Overall, I would come back to Drury Plaza in an instant, and likely will the next time I'm in San Antonio.
