This is different to a lot of pizzerias where you can order plain slices and add the toppings. The restaurant is located in a strip center on Federal Highway and there is somewhat limited parking. I tried a slice of pepperoni pizza and it was somewhat spicy. I like spicy food, but I wouldn't recommend it for most people. read more

The Pompano Beach location appears to be larger than the Boca store (more seating including outdoor tables too). There's plenty of parking. Place your order and grab a seat a the counter or one of their community tables. Still the best pizza around BY FAR. We had the Blanca (white) pizza with ricotta and shredded mozzarella last night. It was to die for. The crust is perfectly cooked. Peter knows dough and high quality ingredients. This might be my new fave pizza off the menu. Also, not long ago, I had the eggplant rollatini appetizer. Strong five stars earned at Peter's Pizzeria. Not sure if they served slices but we took a chance. Upon entry I noticed several artisan pizzas on display and knew this was the place for a slice. The owner told me that he had a White Pizza coming out of the oven right now and was a top seller. The piping hot pizza looked amazing with loads of ricotta cheese sparsely topped with basil. This creation needed to be in my belly quickly. We ordered an epic slice for $6.00 which is on the higher end but you always pay an extra few bucks for a specialty slice. He cut the slice in half to share with my wife. The dark charred undercarriage gave that first bite a nice crunchy sound with the sweet creamy ricotta cheese to follow. We loved it. The pizza was amazing. I was a little disappointed with the Greek salad, not your regular Greek salad more like a house salad. The garlic knots were small and dry. I would not get either of those again. I would go back for sure for the pizza. The seating inside is limited so they probably do a better take out business. I put Peters at the same level as Steve's, Angelo's corner from the old Hollywood beach days, and far above the new comers like Mr. 01 or Joe's or WHATEVER. Wife and I were craving a late-night bite and came into Peter's Pizzeria around 10pm on a Saturday. First time here and saw the solid Yelp reviews and figured why not. Let me just say, South Florida doesn't exactly overflow with proper pizza places... The place had a bunch of slices to choose from. I went with the long hots & sausage (couldn't pass that up) and also grabbed a Sicilian because I needed to know if they could nail the thick cut. Wife kept it classic with pepperoni. All three were solid. Like really solid. Turns out the owner's from Long Island, so it's LI style. What' they've have is a dough room that supposedly replicates Long Island tap water. The dough & crust...Crisp on the bottom, nice chew, none of that soggy stuff like others around town. They're also using San Marzano tomatoes too, which you just don't see much in South Florida pizza. Guy behind the counter was super friendly. Asked if it was our first time, then tossed us a few bonus slices!! Grandma's pie, a white slice, and another Sicilian. Worth a star for that alone! We took bites of everything, and honestly...Not a bad slice in the bunch. My long hot-sausage one was my fav! Could've eaten a whole tray of that. Chatted a bit, they've only been open 8 months. This place is delicious! A wide range of personal slices to grab at the register and everything is cooked fresh. You can order pies off the menu, apps, pasta and dessert. The staff is super friendly and welcomed us right when we got in and we went down the case picking out each thing we wanted. A Sicilian Vodka slice; a pepperoni slice and I couldn't pass up the fried ravioli or an order of the meatballs to share with the baby. Everything was so good, you can tell the ingredients are different and everything is made with care. Genuinely delicious pizza tip to tail with a perfect amount of sauce to cheese ratio. Each bite was savored by the crispness of the crust. There wasn't a morsel left on our plate. I know people categorize Peter's as 'New York' style, but to me it is more refined with a somewhat artisanal look and taste. We ordered 3 slices; one plain, one pepperoni ( regular not cupped variety) and split a white slice. ( add 2 soft drinks and the total was $20 and change plus a tip) We ate the white first since it usually gets cold the quickest. Both sides had 2 clumps of soft, milky cheese not quite burrata but not really ricotta. Whoa Nelly! Yum! Peter's Pompano location is not fancy. It's normal pizzeria sized with counter/ bar seats, a few inside tables and a few outside as well. Snag them as soon as you get there, they go quickly. Plenty of parking, plenty of happy faces. We have been there twice in the last week..the first time was because they had really good reviews and recommendations from our friends. The second time we just needed a slice of their Sicilian pizza to go because it is that good. The location is in a strip center and there is not a lot of seating inside and two small tables outsides parking is ok in the lot. All the tables were full on a Thursday evening but we were able to sit at the counter which was fine. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. You order at the front and they call out your name when your food is ready. There is a glass enclosure in the back where you could watch the guys making the pizza dough. There is a glass case in front with all the different slices and varieties of pizza. They also had fried ravioli, rice balls and rolled dough with fillings. On our first visit we tried the chopped Italian salad recommended from a friend along with Sicilian and Pepperoni slices. The Sicilian is square and think. We loved it. I enjoyed the pepperoni as well..it was quite spicy with lots of meat. The salad was really good too. It was very filling with loads of salami and cheese! I know that others have praised Peter's Pizzeria in Pompano Beach before, but Johnny, Nicole, and Caesar made our first visit truly delightful! The white pizza--satisfying to this NY girl with a Brooklyn-born dad--was crispy, cheesy, garlicky, and had a delicious crisp-at-the-end and foldable-in-the middle crust, and the Ma's Margherita Pie with cupped pepperoni, basil, San Marzano tomatoes, and generous dollops of stracciatella was a huge hit! The stars of the show were definitely the huge portion of ricotta filled eggplant rollatini and the baseball-sized arrancini, which was creamy and savory on the inside and crispy and golden on the outside because it was fried to order in beef tallow. The rich ricotta, fresh basil, and robust, housemade sauce made it perfect, and the garlic knots were a great sauce delivery system for the extra sauce. Nothing went to waste. If you miss NY slices, love eggplant as much as I do, or just adore Nona's homemade sweet treat specialties (made by Peter's mom!), including tiramisu and pistachio or cannoli Italian Donuts, you'll leave this place very happy. Long before opening his pizza restaurants in his hometown of Port St. Joe in north-west Florida and in Boca Raton with his brother Bobby Pokora, young Peter Izzo, a "pizzapreneur" was honing his pizza making skills in Long Island. We had an excellent experience here today. I'd seen a picture of the Yelp Fort Lauderdale staff at a pre-opening VIP intro recently as well as seeing their "coming soon" door signs month ago while visiting the coffee shop nearby -- and bookmarked the location. After reading about their grand opening yesterday, we decided to stop in for a light lunch. Many places in south Florida tout that they are NY style pizza, but this place actually delivers. We got to meet owner, Peter, and he told us about his efforts to research and insure New York water characteristics would be able to be duplicated and achieved -- and that this would be key in the flavor of the products he offered, as well. Right now in their soft opening, they're concentrating on pizzas. Although they also have a couple salads as well as subs and wings. More meals will be added later. There are quite a few pizza varieties from which to choose. And as they offer slices of most of these, you can sample different ones to see which is your favorite. My husband had a square slice of their grandma pie. The thin crust was topped with tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. And I tried their white pizza with shredded mozzarella and ricotta. Each of us loved our slices and especially the pizza dough and crispy crusts. All the staff were personable and welcoming. We got to chat with several of them. They also have a Boca raton location, but this one will become their flagship. Peter also let us try their Italian chopped salad. This was fantastic! Provolone cheese, salami, prosciutto, black olives, and iceberg were all chopped in small pieces together. Each bite had a taste of every ingredient. And their balsamic dressing was the perfect addition. This salad could be a meal in itself or perfect to share along with some pizza. I like specialty pies. Looking on line, this place seemed to have what I look for. Took a ride out to Pompano on a Friday evening, eyed the selection and simply could not settle on two or three slices. Asked to cut the slices in half, here's what we got. Chicken Bacon Ranch, not a punch in the face of ranch sauce. The chicken was the star of the show. Best CBR slice I've ever had. Period, end of discussion. Buffalo, most definitely in the top 5 Buffalo pizza slices I've had. Vodka slice, perfect basil, so dam good. Finally the Sicilian, eat it hot, when it cools the cheese is heavy. Fresh it's great.
