    Half fish sandwich
    Kelly S.

Delicious bar food right by the water! The roasted potatoes were a personal favorite starter, but the real star of the show was the fish sandwich. The batter was light, so it didn't feel too heavy. The servers also did a great job despite being understaffed.

    Halibut sandwich!

Outstanding halibut, beers....cool laid-back vibe. Loved it!!! Sat at the bar and had a great chill lunch!

Horrible service, waiter was rude, food was FREEZING, it was so cold that I had to go out and get my winter jacket, no substitutions, only one soda and it was Coca Cola in a can. I could go on and on but for 94 bucks, it isn't worth it. Also threatening to fight someone because they left a bad review is insane....

Fantastic food. We came here twice for lunch while visiting Acadia. First visit we had the whole fried chicken, biscuits, picked and house ranch, sides were broccolini, fiddleheads and cauliflower and a Cesar salad which was plenty of food for 4 people. Our second visit it was Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, a fish sandwich which was a whole filet of haddock huge, a Cesar salad and wedge. Again delicious and a lot of food. Service is great and so fun to talk to.

Very eclectic little bar and restaurant. No frills place and not a huge selection of food, but what they had was good. Very laid back atmosphere. Kind of pricey, but to be expected based on the area. Our server was fine...not super friendly, but his personality fit perfectly in this place. I would definitely eat here again if I was in the area.

What a cool spot right by the water. We came on a Friday evening at 7:30 and realized the restaurant closes at 8:00. We were able to grab a picnic table outside. We enjoyed the cool air and the views while we waited for our food. We ordered a few of the sides (3/$18) The market fish sandwich and mushroom toast. We waited quite a long time for our food. But once it came out, we dug in! The mushroom toast was phenomenal and came topped with an egg. The fish sandwich was HUGE! Would have loved to have a little more side with the sandwich - it came with three small little smashed potatoes and the fish was overly battered. We had to wait a very long time for the bill, when we realized we were probably forgotten because we were the only ones sitting outside by then. I went inside to ask for our bill and the server was unapologetic and even seemed annoyed that I was bothering him. We would definitely come back! And next time ask what the market price was ahead of ordering. (The fish sandwich ended up being $38! A little steep)

Sooooo - we came into this place hoping for fish and chips- which looked amazing. Miffed because dinner menu was not til 2:30. Ethan greeted us with a smile, kind of, not really... But then warmed up and we had a blast. Probably the greatest chicken sandwich my wife and I have ever had. No exaggeration. This place is five stars no doubt. PS. We love you Ethan. Best table enforcer ever Everything is scratch made. Don't miss it. We will be back for sure. Forgot to mention the bathroom art....

This spot is a gem! Make sure to come early.. we arrived around 7.30pm and there was a long wait.. around 45min, but the bar is first come, first serve. Unfortunately, by the time we sat down and wanted to order, their famous fish sandwich had already sold out :'(. We were told they were understaffed, so the orders were taking a while to come out. By the time ours came, it was already past 9pm. We were one the last people at the restaurant. They close at 8pm, but as long as you get seated by then, you're fine. We shared the half fried chicken and wedge salad. They were both fantastic! The (honey/maple?) butter that came with the biscuits was delicious and unexpected. It's a pretty big space with some tables outside. I'd definitely try coming back for the fish sandwich next time I'm in town!

Ordered the Cesar salad with a fried chicken add on, with some biscuits on the side. Enjoyed everything especially the biscuits. I learned that their specialty was tinned fish. I like that they have seating outside with a water view.

3 sides, battered squash, Brussels in the back and squash potatoes.

Best meal of our vacation, and we didn't even have seafood!!! Fried chicken was super crispy and juicy. Comes with 3 sides, we had battered squash, squashed potatoes, and brussels sprouts. Squash was crispy and good seasoning. Potatoes were AMAZING and Brussel sprouts were crispy as well and well seasoned. Probably a very salty meal so I'll have to cut salt out for a few weeks to make up for it. Well done Peter Trouts! Oh yea, and a good local brew, Finch and Thistle,

There were only two guys working that night that didn't seem to have any service experience and were not on top of their game. When we first came in, one of them said we could have the window table after they wiped it down, but then proceeded to seat the customers that came in behind us there instead. So we had to sit at the communal table next to another family under the loud music speaker. The four of us had the "special" of the day, Halibut fish and chips. We wish we asked what the price would be as it was not on a board or communicated to us. It was expensive for what was served to us. After the food took forever to come out, the serving size was laughable. It looked like they made enough for 2 plates then realized it was for 4 people and spread it amongst 4 plates. There were maybe 3 or 4 smashed small potatoes on each plate. Every other fish and chip dish we've ever had has always had an abundance of fries. It's a shame because it looked like everyone who ordered from the regular menu had huge servings. To be fair, the fish and the chips were good and hot. The service was seriously lacking.

Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Out of this world!

Great spot with attentive servers, very cold beer, and yummy food. The Nashville Chicken Sandwich and smashed potatoes were so incredible we went back and had it again a couple of days later. Being from Tennessee, I have tried lots of attempts at Nashville hot. This one is one of the best. Enjoy! Tip: order an extra serving of the smashed potatoes. The normal side size served with your meal is weirdly small (like 3 bites) and these are so good, you will want more.

This spot reminded me of a place I'd find at home (Brooklyn) and was hands down the best food I've eaten in a national park town We happened upon this place since we were staying down the road. As someone who eats vegetarian 95% of the time, I was attracted to all the thoughtfully crafted veggie sides. It was pretty packed on a Friday night but we were able to get seated outside right away. Staff was pleasant, laid back but still attentive I ended up getting the mushroom egg toast and shared a bunch of sides with my husband. -mushroom toast was excellent sourdough grilled, buttered and topped with delicious mushroom. The egg was a bit hard but it did have some runniness to it -market fish sandwich was enormous! Looked ridiculous in one little brioche bun. This could definitely be split between two people. It came with crispy potatoes which were so good, you'll only wish there were more of them -biscuits with whipped honey butter- save room for these. They're off the hook tasty -asparagus - small portion, but cooked perfectly -heirloom tomatoes- so sweet and refreshing. I'm not a fan of raw onions but they're easy to avoid -corn - was sweet and fresh, but could have done with less mayo and more seasoning If you're looking for elegant food in a dreamy laid back coastal atmosphere- who isn't- check this out!

When they say the fish sandwich is big, this is what they mean!

Good food. However, if you want to actually have your food within an hour of ordering, this is not your place. Ridiculously SLOW service.

I would have liked to sit outside on their cute patio, but it was full and the hostess said it would be a long wait, so we decided to eat inside. At first she directed us to a table in the bar but realized it was very loud (music and patrons) so offered to seat us in the other inside section. We had a view of a bocce match and the patio--definitely better than the bar, but not as nice as the patio. They were playing classic rock and the people at the table next to us asked to turn it down, and they were accommodated, which made for a nicer experience for us as well. The falafel wrap and Banh Mi (v) were very good and the chips can be substituted for a house salad or fries, which we did. The dressing was light and I enjoyed it. The highlight of the experience at Lompoc was dessert. Although there was nothing vegan on the dessert menu, our server suggested an "off the menu" rhubarb raspberry sorbet, which was excellent! And doesn't it enhance the experience when you feel like they're letting you in on something special?! I'd definitely return and try to get there early (4:30) to be able to sit outside.

The staff is always exceptionally kind and forthcoming with their opinions on the food which makes it known they genuinely enjoy it too. The last time I was here I got the bang bang chicken and was able to even get the spicy sauce in the side so I could control my spice level. The true winner for the night was a chocolate carrot cake from a local bakery in town. It was decadent yet well balanced and a hefty portion that I would have regretted if I finished entirely. This place has a unique vibe compared to all the other spots in Bar Harbor and has something for everyone. Do not miss this place when in town.

My fish and chips were more fish stick than dockside catch, but the chips were crunchy and delicious.
