Delicious food, but more importantly the ambiance of sitting outside makes this place a five star for us! Enjoy the sunset and people watch. This restaurant has a great location by the water. Very nice service as well.

Short Rib - dry and flavorless and a disappointing plate at that price.

I am not sure if things used to be different or if some of the glowing reviews (on which I based our decision to dine here) aren't based on recent experiences, but my family agreed that this was the worst stop in our week in Bar Harbor. Multiple running jokes stemmed from the food and the service here, though I will saw that our server was very nice and tried to give us a great experience. Of the four of us, two meals were entirely inedible. My younger son got the steak frites that he ordered medium but it arrived so well done we had a hard time cutting through it. We told the waitress and she said she could see pink and couldn't have it re-cooked without bringing the manager over so we just got him another meal as we walked around downtown afterwards. an expensive mistake of an order. I ordered the short ribs and they were extremely dry and flavorless. The bar is big and clean and has a lot of trimmings of a true Irish pub, but it's an expensive hotel restaurant and I don't recommend it.

Gluten free and vegan options available. Great view of the water from the patio, varied menu, friendly servers, and fresh food. There was no wait for a table for 2 on the patio.

The dishes at daddy's were amazing and I'll definitely go back. Our waiter was very nice and helped us with everything we needed. I'll be back.

Stopped in for lunch after a whale watching tour. Got seated right away. All outside tables were taken but we got place inside near a large window. I had the corn beef sandwich and my wife had the smoked seafood chowder. Food was out in less than 15 minutes. Both items were delicious. Our waitress Ivana was spectacular

This restaurant is a nice change from all the other seafood restaurants. The ambiance is warm and cozy. There is a guiter player that ends at 5pm, which was a nice touch. The food came out on time and was so delicious! All that being said, what i loved even more was our waiter Alex M. What a top notch waiter!! He was so polite and attentive! He should be promoted to trainer to show how it is done!!!

Great atmosphere! Our waitress Ivana was knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions, what a delightful person to talk to. My wife had the Fish and Chips and I had the Hot Corned Beef Sandwich. The fish was fresh, tartar sauce was just right and the corned beef sandwich was great, with in house made bread. The fries/chips were fantastic, great exterior crisp to them.

This was the best Irish pub I've visited this side of the Atlantic. The bangers & mash was a perfect symphony of the tangy horseradish sauce, the buttery mash potatoes, and rich sausage. And the blueberry pie....the blueberry inside barely needed any sugar due to the fresh blueberries used. Our server Nora was very attentive. When I asked for a lemon wedge to squeeze in my water, she squeezed it herself. To top it off there was a live music by Takoda Dionne. I highly recommend stopping here during your time in Bar Harbor.

Stopped by here after a hike and maybe I should have got something else because the burger was absolutely disappointing! Nothing special about it was very basic and the drink was nearly doable for me. These service was great and it was a nice place but I would suggest going for anything else but a burger .

We were cold and ready for lunch after walking to Bar Island and back. We looked at a few places and there wasn't anyone eating there. This place was pretty busy, so we went in. We were seated promptly and a waitress took our order. We ordered two smoked seafood chowders and the seafood dip. Both were outstanding. It is one of the best chowders I have had. The chowder had big chunks of seafood and a very light smokey flavor. It was a large portion. The dip came with triangles of what is similar to a naan bread or pita, but different in a good way. It was tasty as well. I would recommend either of these dishes. Had I known how large the chowder was, I wouldn't have ordered the dip. We ate this as a late lunch at 3:00 and skipped dinner.

Stopped by here for a quick bite while exploring Bar Harbor. I'd imagine this place can get quite busy, but we were able to walk right in and get a table. They have a pretty decent menu with a wide selection. The Crab & Lobster dish was DELICIOUS. Warm, cheesy fondue that was packed with fresh lobster and crab - I was pleasantly surprised by how much they put in, especially for only $16. Hands down, the best appetizer, and perfect to share at the table. Great drink selection with quite a few blueberry options as well. We grabbed both the Blueberry Mojito and the Wild Blueberry Martini. Both were great, but the Wild Blueberry Martini was our winner - more unique and just checked all the boxes. Service was great, and our server was kind and attentive. Biggest complaint was that their water glasses were not properly washed. Right off the bat when we sat down at the table, the glass at my seat had a big chunk of food still stuck on the inside. Got a fresh, new glass and had no issues afterward. Wouldn't be my first stop for food in the area, but a good choice - especially if you're with a group of people.

The menu comes on a blue card with specials posted outside, lobster roll price included, which is a small kindness when half the island hides behind "market rate." My partner and uncle went straight for the fried shrimp basket special: generous, delicious, and not a shrimp wasted. My fish and chips were more fish stick than dockside catch, but the chips were crunchy and delicious. My partner and I had no complaints on the salt front, but apparently my aunt had enough for all of us. We snuggled four into a booth, sticky tabletop and all. My aunt would call the sticky table a detractor; I'd call it the point. The staff was prompt and genuinely warm, not just to us but visibly to each other; someone had to step out mid-rush it was seamless enough you almost missed it. By the way, the Peak Organic blueberry beer sealed the deal for me. One of the most blueberry-forward cans of the whole trip. Find the side street. It's worth the turn.

She was respectfully attentive throughout our meal and was gracious with our requests. I ordered the Half pound Burger Royale with pepper jack cheese, prescribed toppings, cooked medium and Maine fried potato strips. The burger was very filling, though average as far as taste is concerned. The fries had phenomenal seasoning, which definitely made up for any flavor the burger lacked. Think slightly thinner steakhouse fries - I hadn't heard of Maine fried potato strips before coming here so I wasn't sure what to expect. Overall a good experience and I would be open to dining here again!

We came back the following night for a REAL treat... First of all, Tony was our server. What an absolute sweetheart!! He had nothing but fantastic recommendations for us. He was definitely not your standard "waiter". He spoke to us like we were regulars, which we appreciated, considering we were from Massachusetts. We ordered three of his suggestions: wings, fish and chips and the spicy margarita. Outside of what was recommended we also got the beer cheese and GIANT soft pretzel, bangers and mash and the creme brûlée. First off- this was my first time trying beer cheese, so I was beyond excited. I hate pretzels, however. Guess what?? They were BOTH SOOO GOOD!! The pretzel was the size of my giant head and was so soft & salty. It really paired well with the creamy beer cheese. I'd come back just for this appetizer every time. The wings too, actually! I was a little hesitant because I read the word "dill" on the menu but they really tasted more like Buffalo wings with a note of dill at the very end. I think I might be in love.... On to the main event! The Smithwick's beer battered fish and chips... WOW. It was a little different than I'm used to (which was a great thing in this case). The batter was thick and crispy (I'm used to thinner) and the haddock was super moist. Very fresh! I order this meal wherever I go and this is definitely in my top 3 (out of probably 50 others). I was hoping I could switch out the chips for fries because, well, I've never had traditional chips before! I must say I was pleasantly impressed though! They were the BEST and completed the dish perfectly. My fiancé had the bangers and mashed. He said it was good and very traditional. I did not indulge, so I can't relay that in my review. Last, we ended the meal with a MUST try....the creme brûlée. LEAVE ROOM FOR THIS DESSERT! The top was a hard sugar coating while the rest was truly a creamy dream. I might have to stop back in JUST for this before I head back home! 5 stars. Definitely. 6 stars for service!!

We ordered several dishes and were thoroughly impressed. We started with the tostada, which featured wonderfully smoky brisket with a richness reminiscent of pork belly. We also loved the mussels appetizer, served in a briny broth simmered with smoked pork and chorizo. The seasoning and flavor profiles of every dish were surprising and exceeded our expectations.
