I called Pete right before closing time on a Monday night for my dryer that was not working - he called me back within 5 minutes and texted me asking me for photos of the Model# etc. so he could be sure he would have the parts he needed before coming out to fix the dryer. He could tell I wanted it fixed as soon as possible so he added me on to his full schedule on Tuesday as his last appointment of the day. I was so appreciative. The 5-star reviews are accurate!! Our dishwasher stopped draining. I tried my best to fix on my own by cleaning out the filters, but eventually I hit the (very modest) limit of my ability. I messaged Pete and he responded almost immediately to request the Model#. He was able to schedule us in the next day and arrived between the time frame he had given us. I was not home, but my wife told me he was super friendly and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. He identified another minor issue for her and explained that while not urgent, it would be worthwhile to fix for the future. The dishwasher now works as it should, and he also re-mounted it better than it had been when putting it back in place. I would highly recommend Pete and will definitely use him again (hopefully not in the near future at least ;) ! ) read more

Having your refrigerator stop functioning is always a stressful incident but Peter responded quickly with an accurate estimate of how much an assessment would cost and was able to come to my house and check it out within a couple hours of my request! He was professional and courteous, figured out my issue within minutes and was able to order the part for installation the next day. Peter arrived the next day with the part and was able to install it without issue while we had a friendly tech related conversation (I'm a computer technician myself). Three years ago we purchased new Electrolux washer and dryer. Everything worked great until yesterday night. All of a sudden our dryer kept stopping after working for 5 minutes. Considering the time of the year, Covid situation I was very upset. I expected a long journey - repair man, getting new part, installation of the new part and in a worse case scenario - new dryer$$$$. But... My husband reached to Pete's appliances in Roslindale. Miracle! He was on the phone asking questions like a doctor treating a patient. After a short wait the diagnose was - you are not loading to enough capacity of your dryer. And it worked! He stayed to verify the problem was fixed even though he could have left when he was pretty sure it was fixed - I appreciate that. He was responsive to emails through the yelp application and managed to juggle communication between my partner and I (while scheduling, only one or the other were free to talk). Pete's keep their appointments, their pricing is fair and they follow through on their promises. Their office is friendly and efficient. I called Pete's Appliance Repair because I was desperate to get my Mom's refrigerator fixed. It was President's Day weekend and her fridge was barely hanging on. The ice cream was soft. The lettuce was wilted. I was visiting from California and had no local contacts. Pete was responsive and got that it was an urgent situation. I made an appointment with Pete's Appliances to repair my dishwasher. I was given a time of arrival range between 4 - 6 p.m. At 5:50 I decided to call in and check if they were coming. On my phone I noticed a text from 5:11 from Pete saying, "Please give me a call ASAP. I'm in the back bay getting ready to head in your direction now but I want to confirm we are still on first. If it takes a while for you to see this, I may be on my way to one in Quincy by then... Although it was 5:50, I figured I would call anyway. The final insult: The phone number Pete had left was the business answering OImachine which said that they closed at 4:30! Why should he have to confirm an appointment at the time of the appointment? If they want to confirm appointments, they should do it the day before like a real business. And telling me to call back at 5:11 to a phone number that shut down at 4:30! They wasted my time and insulted my intelligence. They should fix my machine at no cost. read more

Pete was great! We called him late one day to come fix our 1 year old fridge that sprung a leak just after the warranty had expired. He scheduled a visit immediately and arrived the next day right on time as promised. He diagnosed the problem immediately and was able to fix it right away. Since this was an easy fix for him, he was kind enough to offer a very considerable discount on his already excellent quote. In fact, he was willing to leave without taking any money, but we insisted that he get paid for his work. I should add that Pete came after we contacted another company (Puls) first. This scam company (avoid at all cost) sent a tech who could not find anything wrong with our fridge, yet offered to replace a part that was in perfect working order. After charging us a diagnostic fee this tech left. Our fridge continued to leak. Pete, on the other hand, actually took the time to see what was wrong with the fridge and fix it. To sum up: Pete's an extremely nice guy and a highly competent tech who knows what he's doing. read more
