He was thorough, and honest in his findings, and took extra time to point out things that I would need to replace in the next year or so. He offered to come in on his day off to do the work on my car, then he quickly decided to stay late that night instead and ordered the part I needed quickly. Now that's service! I feel he and his son care about making their customers happy because we are all part of a small community. Totally awesome shop. Took the time to help me out when everyone else seemed bothered by what I needed. I have an old chevy truck and I had a muffler shop make some new exhaust for it well they forgot to put the locking washers on it so it vibrates loose and the nuts were lost. I went to countless other shops including muffler shops and they told me they could not help. By chance I said screw it and pulled in to Pete's and asked if they could help me out. Needed new bearings and front brake pads for my RAV 4. Pete and sons replaced the bearings and replaced the brake pads for just the cost of the pads, they also did the the rotors for free, most shops will charge another $75 to $100 for rotors. His price was $200 less than any other quote I got for the bearings alone. Quality work, my car drives like new again. As long as I am in Southern California I will always give them my business for all my vehicles. I needed a smog check and I checked Yelp of course to see where I should go. I live close so I called Pete's at 4:15 (they close at 5) to see if they could fit me in for a smog. I was told to come on over. I got there and was greeted by Pete's son Paul who got my smog check going quickly. There's a clean air-conditioned waiting area and Pete is very friendly and welcoming. Came to Petes originally for my girlfriends check engine light issue on her 95 celica, the diagnosis was 40 bucks, he got right down to it and told us what the problem was and had the part right there and the entire issue was gone in ten min =). I then proceeded to ask about a/c service for my montero. I knew I needed all my belts replaced, and since I never had an a/c belt he told me I could get all 3 belts at autozone up the street. All the other places I called quoted me 200 or above just to change the belts. This guy told me 75 bucks for all 3 and we weren't even there for an hour =) . Very honest, very quick service and never tried to sell me a repair I didn't need. The entire shop was clean and organized and very customer safe/friendly. My boyfriend and I called many body shops for prices on wheel barrier replacements on a 2002 Toyota Camry and Pete's had the best price! After taking the car, Peter told me that the barrier hubs might have gone bad as well. After 3 1/2 hours, Pete called and told me my car was done. We went to talk to him and check out the car and he said that I was lucky that my hubs were not bad. He could've simply charged me for my hubs, like any other body shop would, but he didn't. This is the best place in the La Crescenta / Tujunga area to get a smog check, especially with an older car that needs to drive on the rollers. Paul was very helpful and friendly in testing my old Jeep, and he knew how to drive a manual trans properly. Everything is by the book and pricing is fair. Although my Jeep did not pass on the first couple trys, I was welcomed to bring it back after fixing some things and Paul even stayed late to test it for me. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I came to Pete's Auto shop a few months ago to get my Porsche Boxster an oil change. The price was really great cause I normally pay an arm and a leg for it. The service is fast and efficient. So this time my check engine light went on and he came and assess the Porsche. He and his son evaluated and look for anything that might cause it. They found no leak and found nothing wrong with it. I was ready to do the standard wait while he did the check but suddenly, he said "it's done, you passed." Seriously, it was 10 minutes and some of that was chatting.
