Happy New Year All. Had the pleasure of making this my first restaurant stop of 2025 as I met friends and family to welcome in the new year. Food , was fantastic. We had several pizzas , appetizers and drink including dessert. Service was great as our server tho working the dining room solo kept up with the tables then he got additional help who also were great. Over cooked pie. Dry and really bad. Couldn't even tell it was extra cheese . Good thing I spent nearly $50 with a tip on a medium Pizza, right? I used to live by the Pete's Pizza on Western which was the original location. I have eaten there since the original restaurant was torn down and then rebuilt right across from the bowling alley. The pizza was outstanding and I eventually became a delivery driver. Nancy's then bought it which is who runs it now. And the pizza has lost its flavor and they're not very proud of their cooking. I ordered a veal parmesan and they folded it in half and shoved it into a small container. It was just mangled by the time I got it home. I went back another time here at this location and they did the same thing. I really should learn my lesson and never return there again read more

First time I went and ordered a pizza and cheese garlic bread to eat there, (NOT BAD ), not great ! Ok ! Second time I ordered a $17. Overall, Pete's is a solid "middleground", if you will. I kept hearing through the grapevine that you had to try Pete's if you never been. Their propaganda of flyers left at our door worked and decided to order delivery. One appetizer of Buffalo wings, a 14 in cheeseburger pizza and one order of fettuccine Alfredo was around 60.00 (inclu tip). Overall, I wasn't impressed. It wasn't the worst. I did, however, find that the warm (side) bread that came with the fettuccine was the most delectable part of our meal. A solid one hit wonder. read more

Pete's Pizza #2 is located on a stretch of Montrose that feels very residential (about 2 blocks east of Austin). My bud and I ordered a stuffed pizza from here the other day. He has enjoyed their pizza before, but this was my first time trying Pete's. Based on a brief visit here as we went to pick up the pizza, you could tell that they were getting ready for the state clampdown as they pivot away from dine-in customers thanks to the pandemic. The stuffed pizza with sausage and mushrooms takes 45 minutes to prepare. We could not finish this stuffed pizza with 8 thick pieces in one sitting, so my lucky bud wound up with some leftovers. Good place to go for pizza . Their lasagna was all noodle no filling - so don't recommend that item. Salad was good - love the creamy garlic salad dressing. Ravioli was good with meat sauce. There's a debate at my local bar which Pete's is better and for some crazy reason people give me a shocked look when I say Pete's #2 on Montrose is the better one. I'm no pizza snob but I feel like the quality, flavor, and service is way better at Pete's 2. They're always polite when you call for carry out, and they're happy to answer questions and help adjust the order later if you want to add other stuff, or at least they've been polite with me. The pizza comes out pretty fast and it's fresh when we start eating it, too. Definitely great place for a quick to go pizza. They have a lot of seating indoors too if you want to dine in but I haven't done that yet. read more

Used to eat here all the time when we lived in the neighborhood but hadn't been for over 2 years. On our way to the airport decided to stop for deep dish. I was crossing my fingers it would be as good as I remembered. We ordered the stuffed spinach and, to my delight, it was as good or better than before. Sauce with just enough bite but not acidy. Gooey cheese that stretches forever. Fresh spinach leaves in the stuffing. And the crust! Buttery, flaky, just the right level of moistness, and baked to perfection. Leftovers just as good. This is definitely our new pizza place! We ordered the stuffed pizza and there was cheese oozing out of every nook and cranny ha ha We got half and half and they nailed it. The crust was doughy but crunchy and the sauce was delicious. Can't wait to try other items on their menu too! One thing to keep in mind is that we got the 12inch for the 2 of us and it was way too much but we always love leftover pizza and it reheated well too. read more

I had to run back to my car, in the rain, and put my firearm away before entering the premises. Not sure it's a good idea to let the bad guys know you and your customers are disarmed, but it's your business. After entering I was shown a table that wasn't very comfortable, likely because I'm a woman and was by myself. Staff was responsive and moved me when asked. Found a comfy spot and put in my order. Pizza was excellent and bursting with flavor. Cuppacino and cannoli were also good. My pet peeve though is drips. There was a lot of liquid on the coffee plate. The cuppacino is no longer sprinkled with cinnamon or chocolate. Presentation and finishing touches matter! Glad to see the business has reopened after the pandemic. I will note that movable tables were spaced apart, which is appreciated. I've ditched the masks but still want to socially distance when possible. read more

I believe my overall experience was a solid 3.5 stars. Perhaps what hubby and I had this evening didn't impress us two much. "Pete's Pizza #2" on Montrose wasn't far from our house and en route from/to where I work. Although I told hubby that I would meet him at the restaurant after work to pick up the order, he went ahead and completed the entire errand for me. He called in thirty (30) minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time. He commented that the order taker was courteous on the phone, but she kept on hearing "Bob" though hubby's first name is "Paul." I didn't mean to digress, but many midwesterners love to re-name my man "Bob." The "stuffed artichoke" was the primary reason for the deduction. The actual edible portion was small. While the stuffing and the sauce were tasty, we had to discard almost the entire artichoke except the center. In other words, none of the outer petals were chewable. Unfortunately, we weren't in the mood of patiently scraping the meat stuffing out of each row. The "Cathy's Roma" pizza was the saving grace. They put ample amounts of black olives, ricotta cheese, and spinach (my favorite toppings). The medium size (12-inch) could potentially serve up to three (3) individuals. I simply thought that we haven't hit the jackpot since we only tried one (1) freakin' percent of the menu. For Pete's #2 being close, we intend to go back for carryout. read more

To say their food was a disappointment would be an understatement! I have had their pizza before and it's great but the cheesy garlic bread was literally toasted bread with sliced cheese slapped on it. They didn't even melt the cheese! The Cream of Chicken had one piece of chicken in the entire large size soup and it was literally Malt O Meal consistency. I added tons of salt and pepper just to give it any kind of flavor. This is the type of pizza place I've been looking for since moving into the neighborhood-- a good ol' Chicago thin crust. I'm a huge fan of the fact that they offer 1/2 and 1/2 pizzas at no extra charge because my husband and I have pretty different pizza tastes! We've only been during the time of COVID, so we always take it home. The pizza is always ready to be picked up and hot! We came in tonight. Place wasnt that busy. But it was the only place that had Cream of Broccoli soup for my daughter We had Bruschetta and Cheesy Garlic Bread for Appetizer. It was so good. The French onion soup was Perfect!! Our server Cristina was super attentive and nice. My husband and I split the Rigatoni Giambotta. It was SOO Good!! In our 1 1/2 year search for a go-to pizza place we've tried quite a few, some of them twice - including Pete's 2. We're still searching and the quest has been incredibly frustrating. (I'm gonna exclude Coalfire from this commentary because it's too far away from me. I love Coalfire.) My pizza has to be thin crust or New York/Napoli style to make the cut. Can't do deep dish, sorry. But thin doesn't mean like cardboard. Regrettably the thin crust I've had from Pete's 2 resembled the cardboard it's served on. Maybe you like that, I don't. The toppings were excellent but that crust... While their menu boldly stated they've been voted one of the top 10 pizzas in Chicago it must have been referring to a different style than the ones I've gotten there. So I'm gonna give them the benefit of popular opinion and go with 3 stars. Plus their menu is extensive and drool-inducing, offering so many delightful sounding entrees and sandwiches. Perhaps I'll try those. But I've accepted the fact that pizza won't be on my takeout order. read more

I give the actual food 3.5 stars but delivery and service a negative 4 stars. These guys can't seem to put an order together correctly for delivery. Last 3, that's right 3 times we ordered they forgot something, once it took them 3 separate trips to complete the order. I have dined here 3 times and ordered delivery & pickup a few times as well. Every time I order, there's a mix up. Last time I ordered delivery, I ordered calamari & pizza, I got pasta, meatballs & pizza. They did offer to come deliver the calamari but I refused. I was also given a 10 credit. Another time I ordered pickup, we picked up and they gave us the wrong pizza. Had to go back to swap it. Last night, we went in to eat. I ordered a family sized pizza, it came out and I noticed it was small. 5 min later the waitress comes out and says that they accidentally served us a large and that they adjusted the price and had a family size pizza in the oven for us. So wait, now I have to buy 2 pizzas to feed everyone? And wait another 25 min with 4 kids? They should have comped that first pizza. I ended up paying them both. They also don't do refills on pop. Really? On RC at that. Crazy. The pizza is delicious and they are a few blocks away so it's convenient, but they really need to get themselves organized. It's annoying that every time I eat from here there's an issue. Only reason I didn't rate them less is because the food is actually good and the restaurant is pretty. Idk guys... I must grant Pete's 5 stars as a take out family tradition. Every visit to Chicago includes a late night pizza from Pete's, I have never been disappointed. It is the pizza gold standard against which I rate all other Chicago style pizza. Sausage and mushroom is my preferred configuration. Crust is always just right, nicely seasoned sauce. It's a round pizza cut into squares including the perfect tiny corners to fight over. Long live Pete's! read more

So months ago in the mail was another advertisement for another pizza place. Gee that's original. Yesterday I wanted a pizza, something different than the normal haunts. So in my folder of menus I came across Pete's Pizza. Hmm, okay let's try this one. I ordered a med stuffed sausage pizza extra sauce. WOW, it was exactly what I was looking for. Deep thick lotsa cheese, lotsa sauce and just the right amount of sausage. Well sometimes I do things backasswards. So today I looked at the yelp reviews, some good some not so good. The guy with the messy delivery, okay I get it, but how was the food?? Anyway, based on the pizza and some of the pictures (it doesn't hurt that it's about 1.5 miles from home) I'm going in for the full monty! I'll be BACK! read more
