Went for rehearsal dinner and the food was cold, rolls came out halfway through dinner. My daughter in law was told we would be able to get chicken re-filled and then when asked for more chicken we were told no refills unless we paid. The server spent more time out of the banquet room than she did helping us. As far as service went, we had just started eating and she wanted to start taking plates away. We were also told we would be the only party the server had. Not sure if she was doing anything else but we were definitely not properly taken care of. Then I called ahead to see if they would allow us to bring a cake in that I made for the rehearsal dinner and I was told yes but I had to bring my own plates, knife and forks. Seriously, I work in a restaurant and I not only make sure the guests are taken care of , I also bring them plates and clean forks and offer to cut and serve the cake for them. After all that is what they are tipping me for. We were charged a 18% tip for 10% service. Let me just also say that our server should have had her hair restrained per health department regulation. Her hair was well past her shoulders and needed to be pulled back. Manager really seemed indifferent to our lack of service and that what was promised was not delivered. This place is just okay. The first thing when I walked in I knew the vibe right off the bat was loud because they have live bands which is cool but a little loud for me so then we sat our table and they have tv screens as their beer menus which is impressive because they have over 30 different beers on tap. Our waitress came and I realized that she had alot of glitter on and by alot I mean she looked like Goldust from WWF. Anyways, I ordered a Double Bacon Cheeseburger and I had to order friend because the burger didn't come with them which in normal cases they do, I also ordered jalapenos. So the service was pretty quick but when I got my burger there were no jalapenos, I wasn't gonna complain cause I have seen the movie "Waiting". Im giving 2 stars only because the first time I came it wasn't this bad. But it was just a terrible experience the second time. We called ahead for our party so This isn't one of those "we showed up with a bunch of people" things. We asked for outdoor seating. We got there and they said 30 more minutes. We waited and came back they said they didn't have enough staff to seat outside and would we like indoor instead. Like whyyyy wouldn't you just say that before. We said sure we will sit inside. Ok 20 more minutes. We come back and they seat another party of 5 before us even though we were there first. Then they told us they can't sit us together and would we like 2 separate booths. I suggested we go somewhere else but the rest of the people wanted to stay. They sat us in dirty booths. Napkins and stuff all over the floor. And there were flies on the window. And the silverware was dirty. We asked for plastic ware instead. One of my party didn't even want to eat there. And we were right by the kitchen so all we heard the whole time was staff complaining about how they hate their job. I wish I would have just left. I won't be going back that's for sure. My mom, sister and I ordered potato soup, came out not very hot. They were not lukewarm but the fact that we could all immediately scarf our soups down means they were not hot enough. My dad ordered the Saturday vegetable soup which came out very hot and it's almost identical to the potato soup, minus the potatoes. Not very unique. The floors are trashed and no one seems to be able to sweep at all. We realized we have four different types of knives which I find very tacky. Any restaurant should go for consistency. It's also very frustrating trying to talk over the loud clashing of silverware being rolled. You can't do that elsewhere (not around your customers)? My sister's salad came out with warm lettuce. Salads should be cold. My sister's water glass had also sat empty for a while. My dad eventually just took her cup up to the bar for a refill, Mackenzie was (hopefully) just busy rather than ignorant, but she was slow and very MIA when we needed something. Could use a little more waitress training. My moms turkey club deluxe came out like it should, as did my dad's philly grinder. My dad asked if they had au jus and Mackenzie's response was, "um... I don't think so" you either have it or you don't.. Leaf lettuce isn't very good on a sandwich because there's no real texture, would prefer iceberg in the future, we noted for any future visits. My chicken on my salad was very dry and had no flavor at all so I asked for another and it came out hot and juicy like it should have the first time. My sister's Mac and cheese was really good, came out in a cast iron pan. The price for the four of us wasn't bad. We will try again if we're ever in the area. The reviews of Pete's are all over the map. I wanted to add my own experience even though service seems to erratic for some Yelpers. I have only had good experiences with Pete's, both in Taylor and Brownstown (I like the Taylor place a bit better). I would rate it a 3.5 star and must round up. I have never had a bad service experience in my half dozen or so meals; last night we had a wonderful young server who was both fun and efficient. As with any human, servers have bad days and good days. When I describe the restaurant to others, Pete's is a true family restaurant with good food, ample portions at reasonable prices. It has a large menu and everyone will find something they like to eat at any age range. Breakfast is excellent and the dinners I have had are solid but nothing has been fantastic. The only surprise for me is that there is no meatloaf on the menu (come on Pete). Is it gourmet food? No. But you don't go to Pete's for gourmet food. I am not a drinker, but Pete's does have a very extensive craft beer menu. Overall, Pete's accomplishes what it sets out to be. A very good choice for a moderately priced family meal. I remember when Petes Place(s) started opening up, several years ago. They were standard diners serving standard diner food. Petes Place has definitely come a long way since then! Well, the Taylor location has! Petes is an aesthetically pleasing restaurant from the outside, with a pretty large parking lot. When we entered, late afternoon on Fathers Day, it was unbelievably packed. We waited about 20 minutes for a table and I observed how Petes resembled a sports bar. There was a standard dining area and then a really cool bar area off to the right with flat screens around advertising several of the craft beers they offer. We were seated and while the service was slow, the food was pretty good! I ordered standard breakfast - eggs, dearborn ham and toast. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles and I had a taste - wow! Delicious! Made me wonder how the rest of the menu would be. I'll definitely keep coming back for breakfast but will have to try lunch/dinner and a beer sometime! read more

This is a review of breakfast only but I would totally consider coming back for lunch or dinner. The places is pretty modern and has a bar in an area that I'm told was added on. The waitstaff was super friendly and although my last visit was Christmas Eve morning and the place was hopping nobody's coffee cup sat empty. I have a love hate relationship with sausage gravy, I love it when it's done right but hate the way most places butcher it to make it taste like a thick floury paste. I thought the country omelette sounded good but was afraid of the gravy. I asked for a small sample and the waitress kindly brought out a very generous tasting...and it was great! That omelette was HUGE! The others at the table ordered one of the breakfast specials - a great deal if you're there by 11:00. The waitress offered coffees to go for those interested and even said to stop by the counter on the way out and get the cup topped off. That was above and beyond. Went to Pete's twice last weekend. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. Service was on the slower side both times but with staffing issues, can overlook that. Dinner food was decent, good size portions, great drinks and cool atmosphere. Breakfast on the other side was extremely disappointing. Would be 3.5 stars, but I'm being courteous by rounding up, given the barren landscape of the surrounding area. 40 well-appointed taps run the gamut of styles, and often feature rare and very hard to find selections, which is nice. Their electronic tap manager is pretty slick, showing the brewery, style, and percent remaining in the keg - it's also available online with links to beer review sites for each one. It's been a while since I've had food here, but I remember it being fairly good. Nothing stands out in my mind. Prices are middle of the road, certainly not "cheap". Since it's a family restaurant more than a bar, they close at 10 during the week and 11 on Fri & Sat, which is fine if you're not looking to be out late anyway, but is a little early for me. read more

We will definitely return to this restaurant, and highly recommend you try it! My wife had salmon Benedict. The salmon filet was cooked perfectly, and covered in hollandaise sauce. I was kind of excited to be going here for dinner. We haven't been in a long time and I wanted to see what the renovation looked like. And it looks great. I wasn't too hungry, and many of the reviews mentioned that the baked potato soup was really good. So that with an order of pretzel sticks, I thought I would have a filling dinner. If you have looked at any of my reviews, you know that I don't go in for "fine" dining. My husband and I eat. We go out to eat. Baked potato soup? What I was given was a bowl of soup that simmered so long, the potatoes disintegrated into a bowl of potato paste, with about a teaspoon of bacon bits thrown in. No flavor, only a vague ghost of a potato flavor. Such a disappointment. Our server tried to make it right. She offered me something else, a different soup, the same soup from the newer batch....wait, I was served old soup? Really? What the heck? I ended up getting it to go for lunch today. And because I was curious, I tried it when I got home. Same bland soup, although this had recognizable potatoes. The only thing that I can say good was that the soup wasn't salty. My husband's boasted chicken dinner looked and smelled good. But this is my review. After this experience, I might feel better about Ram's Horn. read more

The crab cakes were just ok nothing special.The Pete's loaded potato soup was delicious, and the 12 Oz NY Strip Steak was very flavorful. Washed it all down with some Big Bad Baptist beer from Denver Co., it was so good that I got a 32 Oz growler to go. Whether you order an appetizer or an entrée, you'll get plenty to eat. So look. I want to give these people an honest chance, but they never seem to have the staff/capacity/etc. for a full restaurant that includes any reserved banquet. Scenario 1: Crashed a birthday party and the service was... not bad. And the food was good enough that we were wondering if we could come back. Scenario 2: They take our names and tell us that it would be 40 minute wait: tbecause of a party and that we might not be eating anything for an hour and a half. I was like, "Nope. Not coming back." Scenario 3: We got sat and our orders were taken. When they came back and said that our orders are behind their banquet party and it might be 20-30 minutes before we would have our food, I started laughing. So then the wait began. But they brought some of the quick stuff as fast as they could: our salads and apple sauces for the kids. One problem: no utensils. So we stared at our food for a few minutes before my wife got brave and stole them from an empty table. Maybe it's because we're always here on Saturday's, but this place is a consistent let-down. Past few visits have been very underwhelming. 45-55 min waits with a half capacity at most. Full staff just slow for some reason. Perhaps management. These times are especially tough for the food industry to find good help. Food is at par or below the standard of a typical apple bees if that gives you any idea of what to expect. Came here because I was in the area. I would really say this place is a 3.5 star review, but will go with 3 stars. There is two positives to this place:their beer and fries. They have about 30-35 different beers on tap, which always wins you points in my book and their fries are some really really good fries and must haves. I had three other things here: gyro (average), wings (buffalo sauce is average, garlic Parmesan is nasty and horrible), and Caesar salad (also average). Overall it's a ok place, I would maybe come here to the bar and watch one of their tv's, but the jury is still out on the food as a whole. read more

This was our first time here. When driving by on numerous occasions, it is always busy and figured why not. Friday night around 7:30 place was busy. Got seated right always and had a waitress at the table within minutes. Placed our drink order. Didn't take too long for those to arrive. Orders appetizers first, cheese sticks and fried green beans. When they came out the food runner gave them to the wrong table. It took about 7 minutes for this to be realized. Once the waitress saw this she had it fixed and to our table within 10 minutes. This hiccup threw the timing off the rest of the night. They were very good. The green bean were hot,tasty with some spicy added. Would have them again. Cheese sticks were delicious. Calm chowder came out nice and hot, had good flavor, thick and creamy. Salad had a lot to be desired for me. Lettuce, cucumber, onion and croutons. Could have used some cheese and tomato in my opinion. Blue cheese dressing was good. Cheeseburger was nice and juicy, French fries were ok. Asked for them extra crispy and definitely did not come out that way. Mac and cheese was good. I believe they used a 6 blend cheese and I'm more of a cheddar cheese kind of person. Heads up..... top table in the bar area (2 seater) is too small for 2 people and food. Live music was playing this Friday night which was nice. It can get a bit loud, but not too loud where you can talk to your table mate. Will definitely be back in the future to try other items. read more

Food is decent, Service and prices are dismal. I initially really liked Pete's Place and have been there many times over the years the baked Mac and cheese is great. I switched it up last time and got a Bacon cheese burger with a side of curly fries and a water to drink. The burger was cooked correctly but the fries were warm at best and the waitress was rarely seen. The suprise came with the bill there is an 99¢ upcharge per piece of bacon and the side of curly fries was 4.99 adding an additional 7 bucks to a typical restaurant burger that already costs 10.00 bucks by itself. I'll admit this is all my own fault as I wasn't even looking at the prices when I ordered but I doubt that I'll be back. read more
