The very best Chicken salad of your life! This salad is a delightful mix of textures and flavors with a rich creamy garlicy house dressing!
    Jarod B.

Char-grilled chicken served on a bed of lettuce with roti pasta, tomatoes, green pepper, red onion, and cucumber. avocado, black olives, and hardboiled egg then served a garlicky creamy house dressing. The best chicken salad of your life!

Ordered 2 cheswick expresses. Both had raw veggies. Very hard to eat. Disappointed considering it has been good the past few years.

Cheif's Elusion - I got the smaller half.

This is the kind of place I think of when I think 'Old World Bar'. It's light enough inside but this is an all dark tones, mahogany style type bar, call it traditional. And it is a bar, one long bar, set of tables on one wall. There is a dining area and patio outside but what a great bar. They don't have a ton of beers on tap, but they had a good selection, I got to enjoy a jai alai from Cigar City. Our server/bartender also made up one of the better Kentucky Mules I've had, and I appreciated the fact that the mule cup I had was one of the largest I've gotten from any place. My girlfriend and I shared a sandwich and fries, it was called a Cheif's Elusion - corned beef and coleslaw with Russian dressing on rye. It was good - I've had a lot of these that are pretty good so maybe it doesn't stand out but it was good and so were the fries served hot and crispy. Helps that the kitchen is right there next to the bar! I also liked that I didn't have to ask twice for mayonnaise for the fries. I'd be more than willing to return for another oversize mule and a different dish.

I spent a few year's in Germany eating n drinking in hundred year old places just like this. Old World Cool nothing else like this in Michigan think Bavarian Inn only better. Set in a turn of the 20th century era German pub with walls adorned with period murals and rich mahogany. Known for the atmosphere it is a great place to bring a date or just have a casual lunch or dinner. Yeah we started with the Famous Soup always get a bowl to share. She had a Double Meat Delightful Patty Melt on a bed of Grilled Onions n Swiss Cheese spot on. Me a new exciting sandwich on the lunch menu , Blackened Chicken Greek Sandwich OMG fantastic ordered a Double so Wonderful a mouthful of Love each Bite. Dusted in Cajun seasoning then Blackened on Rye Toast Delicious WOW , Green n Red Peppers, Onions, Olive's, Feta n Provolone Cheese. Highly recommend this Unique Sandwich. From 6 year's ago the lower half. OMG this French dip sandwich is the best ever, I'm calling it a prime rib sandwich with a supper hot dip. The crock of French onion soup so damn good and loaded with melted cheese on top and pumpernickel bread cubes inside. I read many reviews talking about how great these two items are and you must give them a try as I'll now be in at least once per month. Super great service not found in many pubs. You just gotta see the menu on there site and you'll say WoW this is a pub with high scale restaurant foods.

After driving by here at least a million times, we finally went for dinner. Cool place with an old school feel. Clean and welcoming. Our sever was friendly but seemed to help tables a bit out of order of arrival. The table that came in behind us had drinks on the table before we placed a drink order. My daughter ordered a plain burger that she enjoyed and after stealing several of her fries, I can say they were good. Nice and crispy. My wife ordered the mussels, which were good and a side of linguini which said was just OK and lacked flavor. We both started with a Caesar salad. The salad was a bit disappointing and had a strong onion flavor. I ordered the Crawfish Diablo which was very good. I would definitely order it again.

The Filet with zip sauce would probably land in my top 5 of all time. Shrimp appetizer is also a can't-miss.

The good: The view of the river and the waitstaff were both nice. The glazed salmon was perfectly prepared and delicious. It sat atop some creamy puréed butter nut squash sauce and aside a sort of corn relish (if my memory serves). That's a lot of flavor, texture and all of it was wonderful. The New England Clam Chowder was so good and really hit the spot on a cold day. The room for improvement: The salad was not so crisp. Not that it was a disaster. But I felt it was experiencing early stage wilting. And there was no bread basket. It looks like a restaurant where you expect a bread basket and I wanted one next to my soup. But I like this place and the salmon was great. Yes, I would go back and yes, I will! This is the best, possibly the only fine dining downriver.

We arrived early so we went up to the bar beautiful view. The bartender was just a Doll. A beer and 2 tiny margaritas $31 and change. Left to luncheon the drinks were really good so we ordered 2 more. A waitress went to go get them for us. We told her what we had just had. She seemed confused, but she was just the cutest sweetest thing. Comes back the drinks did not look the same again $31 and change. She left the two of us took a drink, and it was like watery cherry juice maybe? One in our group sipped hers to get the small pork chop fillet down. I don't drink mine. There was absolutely no way. It was a mixed drink, and there was absolutely positively no alcohol whatsoever taste in it. The salad was basic but good, the rolls were soft, the vegetable tray was over cooked and undercooked? It was odd. The potatoes were dry, the tortellini was good, salmon was good. Nothing actually stood out. Our meals were free so that helped ALLOT!!!!! As we were leaving, we seen the waitress who got our drinks and I had tipped her 10 bucks and I said that was the worst two drinks and biggest tip for what we got that was absolutely awful. And she was stunned and said sorry. I said no problem. I'll take it back up to the Bar. Unreal, same bartender from 1st drink. I set it on the bar and said this isn't the same drink you made like 1st time. She said oh the waitress must of used pre-made. Well it's awful and there was no alcohol. She said next time make sure you have us make it into front of you. Then you can see what you're getting. Alrighty. Done At the least put a shot in my watered down one and pacify me. Nope, So $62 and $25 in tips. I will try it once more.

We got our food quickly and piping hot, drink refills before needed. She was charming everyone in the room I think. Everyone seemed in a good mood. The food was nice. We especially likes our Cuban egg roll app. Stuffed full of meat, they had terrific flavor and were filling to boot. Made my husband thank about getting the sandwich next time. He had barbecued shrimp this time. Excellent bbq sauce. His sides of choice were really tasty vodka sauced pasta and just okay cheesy potatoes. I went with the piccata style perch which had great flavor, a perfectly done huge baked potato and a wreck of the loaded up brussels. The Brussels may do it for some but they were a no bueno flavor mess to me. Yikes. When I was nearly finished I got a big old bite of bone in my perch. The manager stopped by and was appropriately concerned, super apologetic. Offered us all kinds of freebies. I assured her it was not necessary. I truly enjoyed my meal there. I was stuffed and satisfied. We took prime rib melts to my parents and they were happy. Overall a nice food night. We will return.

The food was very good as well. However, the behavior of the bartending staff was at best, questionable and at worst, abominable. This behavior took place during my niece's wedding reception at your place of business. I've been told of numerous incidents from my family members that they've witnessed. I, however, will only list the behaviors that I have observed. As I understand it, the agreement between you and my niece's family was to tally up the cost of the by head AND by consumption and then bill the lesser amount calculated between the two. Additionally, it was agreed upon that the gratuity was included in the bill. With this criteria, I was taken aback by the waitstaff hitting my sister-in-law for a tip before they served her as well as others...but as I was standing next to her ordering my drink, no comment was made to me about tipping. Why is that? I found it odd that your liquor selection was presented as it was for a wedding reception service package. I asked for a Scotch on the rocks and was told that the only Scotch you had was 12 YO MacAllan - a top shelf offering. Really? You have 7 types of Bourbon ranging from well to top shelf and but only one Scotch handle and a high end one? Sorry not buying that for one minute....at all. My perception is that your staff was looking to run up the bill by using top shelf liquor as the only options available. Never mind the fact that they were overtly generous with their pours - which I know will help "pad" the consumption rate. I was also surprised to hear a lot of inappropriate comments made by them throughout the evening. I'm not above an innuendo-laden joke, but there's a time and place for kind of a humor - and a wedding reception, which should be clear to anyone with a modicum of professional courtesy, is NOT THE TIME AND THE PLACE. Worst of all, I witnessed the wait staff completely ignoring the the father of the groom and his mother. No one acknowledged them and they gave up without being served the entire night. I would seriously hate to think that you would do that based on their ethnicity - but I saw I what I saw and that is my perception. Just shameful and disgusting. As you know in the hospitality/restaurant/service business the customer's perception IS THE ONLY PERCEPTION THAT MATTERS. After it is my dollar you're after...and ultimately my decision to continue to spend that dollar at your establishment or take my business elsewhere. I generally don't write reviews (positive or negative) as I find them to be a colossal waste of my time and energy. I rate with my dollar. If I like the place - I come back. If I don't like it - I don't go back. See how easy that is? But what transpired that night was a bridge too far for me to just let it slide. I saw a recent article in the Detroit Free Press about this place closing up for good so a luxury apartment complex can build on your location. This explains a lot of the above behavior - I mean, this place has an expiration date so why should the management or staff give a rip about the quality of the service they provide when you all have Short-Timer's Disease? Your refusal to make it right with bride and groom and their respective families has only served to bolster my perception. Perhaps it is for the best that you as a restaurant will cease to exist in a few months. Based on the 5-6 hours I spent at your place - you clearly have demonstrated that you have no business being in business.

It appeared to be a hand formed oblong wad of under-cooked ground beef sitting on a hot dog bun with a Kraft or Velveeta cheese single split in two and placed on top.
