The ambiance in this cafe has such cute roots of historical origins with the varying interior design. There is soooo much room to work, chat with friends, or order an entire spread for yourself. I ordered the Creamy Lotus Biscoff Latte: which wasn't too special for me other than a regular latte with a couple pumps of syrup. I was hoping to get a latte similar to what the picture showed, but I was slightly disappointed. Waiting also took nearly 10 minutes for just 3 drinks and 1 being water.

Delicious strawberry oatmilk latte, I feel like sometimes the coffee flavor drowns out any fruity notes but definitely got the perfect amount of strawberry

This was just a yucky iced americano. There was about 1/8 of a cup of ice that melted immediately and it was extremely diluted, making it very milky/watered down with no taste of espresso. It tasted like when I make an iced coffee and take too long to finish it so the ice has melted down. Also, the price was different from what was on the prices board, and more expensive than just what the tax would add on. It did look very cute in there and would probably be a lovely place to sit and hang. No gluten free bread options.

Love their food. Always great service & pretty fast, as I'm usually illegally parked on Connecticut ave & need to run in/out. Ambiance inside is always nice, its usually quiet in the morning time when I go

Dropped in for a late lunch. "Petit Monde" is unique in Woodley Park. It is a three story old house. So, the Bistro offers different seating options for guests: dining area, outdoor, lounges, tables & chairs. The service is excellent and the staff are friendly. It also offers a diverse menu with sandwiches, entrees, vegetarian dishes. A DELIGHTFUL place to relax and hold a meeting.

The cafe has a nice quaint vibe, but it definitely gets loud upstairs. I didn't get to try the food, but it did look good. I had their Nutella latte, but I was disappointed as it tasted nothing like Nutella. I would go back again to try the other items they offer as my experience was limited.

I think this is a wonderful and casual, home-like place to get breakfast or brunch before heading to the zoo! I love how it's located right across the metro station. I ordered some waffles with scrambled eggs and bacon and thought that the waffles were really soft, bacon was super crunchy/crispy and the scrambled eggs were yummy as well! The service was nice and we didn't have to wait that long for our food to come out. I would totally visit again and next time I wish I could try out their coffee drinks or desserts!

Such a cute cafe! Very homey and instagramable. The staffs are all welcoming! It's so nice to know, they offer several food and drink selections! Will definitely go back here!

Strong and smooth coffee in an elegant restaurant. Showed up at 930, opened at 10 on Sunday, but staff let us in and served us with a smile. Great food! Loved the vanilla French toast with fruit. Smoked salmon on an open faced roll was also good. Downstairs has a different menu and ambiance. Highly recommend this place.

We were looking for a brunch spot near the zoo, so this place fit our needs perfectly! There were a variety of good choices - I selected the Waffle Platter. Whenever I hear "platter" I get a little concerned that the portion size might be overwhelming, but this was perfect. Both the eggs and the waffle were light and fluffy and the sausage was quite tasty. My wife had the Bacon, Egg & Cheese Croissant and said it was yummy! It looked like they had a bunch of tasty bake goods - I's like to try those another time!

The standout of the morning was the breakfast side potatoes--crispy, seasoned perfectly, and easily something I'd come back for. The breadbasket came with three pastries, which felt a bit smaller than expected, but the almond croissant more than made up for it. On the heartier side, the chicken and waffles were extremely filling thanks to the dense waffles, so definitely a dish to tackle with an appetite. One of the biggest surprises was the brunch salad with salmon, which ended up being one of the best salads I've had in a long time--fresh, balanced, and satisfying. The breakfast sandwich was another highlight: so good that it's now the new standard I'll compare all other breakfast sandwiches to. The smoked salmon bagel was also a fun experience, served deconstructed so you can build each bite exactly how you like it. Not everything was a hit--the French toast wasn't my favorite--but the overall meal was strong enough that it barely detracted from the experience. Brunch offers a few additions beyond the regular breakfast menu, but overall it's very similar to their standard breakfast, just with a couple of extra options. It tends to get full on the weekends to make a reservation. Bottom line: Penbrook is a beautiful hotel restaurant that punches above its weight--excellent service, memorable dishes, and several items worth returning for.

Super popular tourist spot (and with good reason!),I def reccomend making a reservation. Luckily for my visit on a Saturday at 1pm, the wait to be seated wasn't too long, only about 10 minutes. I've never had oysters anywhere besides New York so I wanted to try them here and my mom got the fried oyster deviled eggs. Our sever Stephanie was such a delight and probably has the coolest pin collection I've ever seen. Also the restaurant just has a really beautiful atmosphere to sit down and enjoy some really great hospitality. Onto the food! Oysters were smaller than I thought they'd be but SO FLAVORFUL and just the right amount of brine, and slid beautifully from the shell 10/10 The deviled eggs were given a 10/10, presentation was beautiful and the pickled relish was a well rounded addition We then finished up by sharing the cheasapeake eggs Benedict! Which featured their famous crab cake. The HOLLANDAISE?? literally danced in my mouth. The crab meat was so tender and buttery! Only difference I would've loved if the smoked paprika that was on the deviled eggs to also be featured on the Benedict! Over all it was a very lovely and sense awakening experience 9/10

And when it's named after the establishment it has to be good. And it was! The sugar sprinkled cake donut was warm and tasty - a must try! I also ordered the corn soup. It was a small bowl of, you guessed it, kernel corn infused soup base with a crusty covering. The shell (reminded me of crème brûlée) was good, but I was a bit disappointed that the soup was only lukewarm. The best part of the meal was the hush puppies. They had a bit of a spicy kick and were slightly greasy, but they were a comfort food delight! I will definitely get more of them when I return! Novice was the bartender and recommended the Proper burger. I added my typical fries and a Diet Coke. The burger came out quickly. Right off the bat, it's visually amazing. A properly stacked Burger is hard to find. The 2 best things about this burger are 1. The taste , and 2. The form of the burger. The taste is absolutely fantastic. The Gouda paired perfectly with the red onions and the perfectly cooked, juicy beef patties. The aioli was just enough and not overbearing, like looking at a painting of a castle and noticing the subtle blurred background of misty forest. The arugula added another layer of flavor that helped kick this burger into the highest echelons of Burger superiority. And of course, the brioche bun was perfect for this style of burger. It kept its shape while I gently smushed it down in my hands. The entire burger kept its shape and didn't fall apart like some other Burgers will. As I sank my teeth into the first bite, the first thing I noticed was all the flavors blending together. Each bite afterwards just added to my mystified and puzzled bewilderment. The texture was moist and soft. As I chewed and swallowed each morsel, I began to think to myself, is this it? Is my search over? Is this the BEST burger in the country? Never had I tasted such a wonderful burger! (Sorry In-N-Out 2x1, raw onions, chopped chilis, toasted bun, you are no longer on the top of my list). As I neared completion of my newly discovered epitome of gluttonous desires, a feeling of sadness started to take over. I would be done with the burger in a few more bites, and with that, my journey would conclude. I sat there, staring at what would be my final bite. The last bit of pleasure in between my slender fingers, still dripping with the juices God had placed there after it was grilled to perfection in the Kitchen. I placed the final delectable piece into my mouth. I spent what felt like an eternity chewing this treasure before finally gulping down the goblet of wonder. What came after was a feeling of pure bliss. I had finally done it. All the years, all the time dedicated to finding the best Burger ever, is complete.
