We stumbled upon this place right outside our hotel -- $10.99 for 2 eggs, corned beef hash, potatoes and 2 slices of toast. Can't beat that! Same price for a western omlette with ham, onions, and bell peppers, potatoes and 2 slices of toast. So good that we came two days in a row, and it would have been more, except they aren't open on Sundays! The space is small with only 5 bar stools, but there is outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The owner Al has been here for 35 years and offers great quick service with a smile! Scrambled eggs were a tad on the salty side, and the bacon was drowned in grease. Your typical breakfast, haha. Very small location with only a counter of seating by the window and a couple of tables outside. My son was on the hunt for pancakes. There were several places on his radar but once we got there, no pancakes. So we saw Sunshine and thought we'd go check it out. He saw there was French Toast and all of the sudden that's what he wanted. I chose the breakfast burrito. Ordering was quick and easy and we didn't have to wait very long for our food. My husband and I were quite fooled by the 4 star reviews and decided to try them out while visiting DC...disappointed! This place is the size of a closet, very tiny. First off, a slice of my bacon was gray and looked old. I didn't eat that. And my hash brown patty wasn't even cooked! It was a frozen patty that was ice cold! They didn't even bother to heat it up! My hotel was only 2 blocks away and I know it couldn't have gotten that cold from the short walk. This place is a complete joke! My husband wasn't happy with his food either. Never again. read more
