From start to finish, everything was absolute perfection. We started with the amazing authentic Caesar salad (we try Ceasar from Hawaii to Vegas to NY to Paris and this is right up there) and Spinach salad (with warm pear slices and hazel nuts--incredible) followed by the most incredible New York steak with Gorgonzola butter and a mouthwatering Ribeye steak. Oh, and the strawberry lemonade? What did they out in that--Delicious! even the potatoes were rich with flavor. Plus, generous serving sizes But wow... shout out to the desserts! The bourbon cobbler crisp and key lime pie completely stole the show. (And no, there are no pictures of the desserts because they were just too good to wait--we ate them instantly! ‍) To top it all off, the chef/owner came right to our table to share the inside scoop on their locally sourced produce and meats, and even personally recommended our desserts. There was plenty of parking, though the road up is very steep, so make sure your E-brake is working! There are two outdoor seating areas, one just outside the main entrance, and one overlooking the river. The interior tasting room (where we sat) is luxurious while still being comfortable. The ambiance of the entire place is lovely, and there is beautiful art and charming knick-knacks everywhere. The woman pouring also let us know that the winery has a literary/witchy theme, which I thought was fun and an excellent conversation-starter. The wine was good. I like German varietals, and this place clearly knows how to do them well! The Gruner was my favorite, and we ended up getting an extra taste of the early harvest to compare to the mid-season, which was lovely. We also got an extra pour of some bubbles because someone else had ordered a glass. The woman pouring was incredibly friendly, very knowledgeable, and even had the winemaker herself come and chat with us for a moment.
