We went here while we were at the ferry station thinking we were just going to grab a subpar meal, but it actually ended up being the best meal we had on the island. I ordered the vegetarian plate which came with a large assortment of unique vegetarian items. I really enjoyed it, as did my sister! We also had some really nice drinks. The restaurant is right on the water which is nice, except for the fumes from the boats at times. My sister got a hamburger and my niece got chips and salsa. The chips and salsa looks pretty basic. Service was really nice and the crowd was nice and they let us store our suitcases while we ate. read more

The food is just ok in my opinion, the service was subpar but with friendly faces. My biggest problem with this place is our waiter had the dirtiest fingernails. It's the best place to go for food while you are waiting for your ferry. It's located on the 2nd floor above the ferry terminal. I had the Saltfish breakfast special which is served only on Friday and Saturdays. It's the local yokel kind of food with okra, spinach, some kind of shredded fish, and a hard boiled egg. It's an interesting kind bucket list kind of dish worth trying once, but not really a recommendation. The breakfast dishes being served to other tables look spectacular for a basic bar restaurant. Pancakes, omelets, all look like you were at IHOP. Delish. The service was good and our waitress was a long time pro it seems. read more

Food: 0 stars: I ordered the thick french toast, it came out as burnt toast. This folks was not french toast. when I presented it to what appeared to be management she quickly offered me something something else. I declined the offer because 1. I already waitwd 30 minutes for this burnt shit, i wasnt waiting another 30 minutes for anything else! 2. Judging by my ol man's food and the people around us, it all looked bad and unappetizing. I was puzzled as to why it was described in the menu as thick cut french toast and she couldnt give me an answer on why that plate of garbage was presented to me like i wasnt going to question it. My ol man ordered the banana pancakes and they looked like something of the freezer section. He offered me a bite and I refused because they didn't look appetizing. Price point: 2 stars: breakfast will run you $10.50 on average. The mimosas are good but not $7 good especially when you can get a carafe in some places for $7-$10 being I wanted to try it I splurged. Customer service: 1 stars: our waitress wasn't very attentive besides doing the basic responsibilities of her job title. Again I noticed with black people on this island they feel they don't need to deliver great customer service if you are a person of color but for Caucasians they go above and beyond. So if you are caucasian, asian, or east indian you will be treated good lol if you are african american or Latin FORGET IT! Im giving 1 star due to management trying to accommodate me. They move slow a.f. here so if you don't have 1.5 hours to blow on basic breakfast don't come here. Overall: I would not come here if the food was for free. I basically paid for $3.50 for bacon, $3 for bottled water, and $7 for a mimosa. My ol man's food was $11.50. $30 for a bunch of nothing smh I will never come back her. Too bad they don't have waffle house on this island. The Petite Pump Room is the bar and restaurant on the second story of the Ferry building at Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas. They claim they are one of the best restaurants in town, but I truly can't see tourists flocking here for a dinner out. Their main clientele seems to be the captive audience waiting for the next ferry. Which was why we were here on a Wednesday afternoon, packed-in with numerous other passengers for an hour and a half wait. There was a deck outside but no seating was available, so our small group sat inside at a corner table; still decent views here, and a breeze. We ordered drinks and filled-out our customs paperwork for the BVI, our next stop. Though the first round of drinks was quick, things slowed to a crawl after that. The staff was a bit surly and ignored our raised arms and attempts at eye contact. Finally, one of our group approached our waitress (twice) before she eventually walked over to get our food orders, plus another round (I was having Red Stripes). Most people in the group ordered sandwiches, but I opted for the conch fritters (an old favorite). Food service was slow, but we eventually all got served. Sadly, my conch fritters were some of the worst I've had; they were very oily and I saw little evidence of conch inside. Others enjoyed their sandwiches but didn't rave about them. Believe it or not, the best part about the restaurant occurred after we completed the long process of boarding the ferry. Specifically, those of us on the upper level noticed the waitresses hanging out on the restaurant deck and talking to passengers at the railing, with the occasional exchange of cash and beers. My friend P and I decided we had to get in on this action, and so of course we bought two, just cuz. By the time we finished buying these, it was becoming quite the melee as other passengers caught on. And the the ferry staff obviously delayed departure until much of this had run it's course. Hilarious. I was going to give two stars for the Petite Pump Room, but I gotta spot them an extra star for the entertainment value and last-minute brewskis. Sadly, my travelogue in the Virgin Island ends here. The islands of the BVI aren't covered by Yelp, and so I can't share the fantastic hotel we stayed at, nor the restaurants we tried, nor the Scuba shop or funky beach bar we discovered. I'll keep these memories in my brain for now. read more

Mike and Judy are serving up decadent meals accompanied by pain killers that'll give you a run for your money. The Caribbean sauce that Mary recommended hit the spot like a warm blanket for my soul.
