If you're looking for authentic Greek food look no further than Petos. The food was excellent and it came out quicker than I had expected. The menu is old world recipes, Greek beer and Greek wines combined with a low key Greek aisles vibe. I can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu.

My go-to place when I want to relive my recent vacation to Athens and the Greek islands. Service is always friendly and helpful. Wide variety of Greek cuisine and everything always tastes great. Love the spread plate appetizer and of course a souvlaki! The Bougatsa is my favorite dessert! You know it's authentic Greek if the decor is blue and white! Reminded me of Santorini and Paros.

Pretty decent food. I'd go back and try some different things. I got the gyro sandwich and fries. Gyro was decent and very filling--wasn't a fan of the fries but all in all not bad.

Lentil soup and dandelion green "salad".

This is my second visit. This time my husband and I stopped in for lunch on a cold winter day. Perfect! We were warmly welcomed. The lunch menu offer delicious options including appetizers, salads, soups, handhelds, and a couple of hearty dishes. We enjoyed the grilled octopus: thin slices on a bed of greens. Beautifully prepared, flavorful and tender. I had the lentil soup and a salad of cooked dandelion greens with feta. My husband had a gyro made with slices gyro-style pork (a beautiful twist on what is thought to always be lamb). He was given fries and a Greek salad of tomatoes, cucumber, olives, onion, feta. The house Greek dressing is fresh and everything is perfectly prepared. The restaurant is comfortable. The wine and beer list has a good variety.

I cannot express with words how much I enjoyed this meal. Let me begin with the staff and service, extremely friendly, quick, and seemed extremely happy to have us in their restaurant. The decor was well done and we enjoyed the music being played quietly in the background. The food. We used to have a restaurant for Greek food before we moved from downtown and have tried several restaurants since to satisfy our cravings but were disappointed every time until we had lunch at Petos. A small menu compared to other restaurants of the same cuisine, but they deliver. The hummus and pita bread were fresh, delicious, and seasoned perfectly. The pita was served warm and with a delicious blend of spices dusted over the top. Our main dish was the Lamb Gyro. The perfect amount of meat to vegetable ratio. The lamb was tender with crispy edges and seasoned perfectly. Served with seasoned fries and freshly made tzatziki. We will definitely return to try the remainder of the menu.

What a great dinner! Our server-Grayson-made us feel most welcome and provided good recommendations as well. I started with the Greek coffee and the hubs had the Fix beer as it is closest to an IPA. We started with the Tiropita with the cheese. So good! Our friends ordered the platter of dips with hummus and a red pepper dip that was amazing. The fresh pita with the spices on it went great with all the dips. I went all in and got the platter with the moussaka, spanakopita and pastitsio. Oh my goodness! So much food, but I wanted to try it all!! My fav was definitely the moussaka. Had to try the dessert to and we shared the dark chocolate pistachio baklava. Just order it. It won't disappoint! This was such a great place and I can't wait to go back!

While exploring the Carmel Art District we found this place. Our server was lovely and the ambiance of the place made us feel like we were not in Indiana. My favorite dish was the lemon soup. It would pair perfect with a Greek salad and an order of hummus. Me and my friend shared everything to taste test. The price is affordable and the location is perfect. We were able to shop and grab coffee afterwards. There's a parking garage near by if you're not in the mood to use street parking.

    Dip sampler with yummy pita

Ambiance is great in this little restaurant that feels like it transports you to Greece. The sampler platter comes with dolmades, hummus, tzatziki and a feta dip but you can sub any of them out (may be an extra uncharge). The pita here is well made and paired well with the tzatziki and taramosalata - hummus was ok. The chicken gyro was juicy and had a slight nice honey mustard added which gave the dish great balance. The lamb gyro was dry and chewy but you could tell this was real lamb and not the processed lamb/beef you get at the store. Potato wedges were excellent. Not sure if I'd return for this price point but it was a solid meal with enough for leftovers.

A whole hearted 5 stars and I'd give more if it were possible. There is a big parking lot behind the building accesible from the side streets (think alley) and even a backdoor to gain access to the restaurant. You are greeted right away upon entering. We had a reservation since we had a group. Our waiter Michael did a wonderful job greeting everyone as my guests trickled in and immediately took their drink order. He also answered all of our questions. I have to say this young waiter made our night, as he clearly enjoys his job and is attentative without hovering. That is a special skill. The interior of this restaurant is nicely decorated and in a way that conveys Greek island life. The menu offers Greek staples but also quite a few items you don't usually find around the midwest. We were given a complimentary appetizer of pita bread with a Tappenade like topping. Nice. We shared a hummus plate which is probably the best hummus I have ever eaten. OMG. We also tried the Skordalia, which is cold garlic pureed potatoes. I wasn't a big fan of the consistency, but i t had a nice flavor to it. The rest of my table enjoyed it a lot though. The majority ordered the lamb shank aka Youvetsi and all were singing the praises of this dish. The Moussaka, while not exactly visually pleasing was highly praised and quickly devoured... it was that good (I got a little taste of it). Garides Saganaki, which are pan shrimp with wine and feta, were bursting with flavor. Large sized shrimp with a flavorful sauce and things such as olives and tomato pieces. Delicious. I personally ordered the Mix Grill plate and substituted Greek potatoes instead of the rice. The potatoes could have used a bit more time cooking, but were nicely seasoned. The skewers of meat and shrimp were excellent. Nice large shrimp that were perfectly grilled, not overcooked. The chicken and the pork were so tender, you really didn't need a knife. And so flavorful. The whole dish was a delight. While it's a bit on the pricey side, keep in mind that the portions are pretty big and everything is delicious and of high quality.

We recently learned of Petos through a Yelp friend, and we are thrilled she shared this phenomenal restaurant with us. We went to Petos last Tuesday for lunch (Noon - 2:00), and the entire experience from attentive service, delicious food, and the cozy but spacious atmosphere was exceptional. The colors and decor are light and airy with coastal decor. The restaurant is great for large groups or an intimate dinner. As you enter the restaurant, two dining areas are on each side of the entrance. On the other side of the dessert area is another large dining area perfect for a private gathering. Free street parking is an option. We lucked out and saw a parking space open directly in front of the restaurant. A convenient parking lot is directly behind the restaurant. You'll need to walk to the front of the restaurant to enter, but you can exit through the back door into the parking lot. We were warmly greeted by our server, Peter. He is a large reason our experience was so gratifying. Warm, knowledgeable, with sincere interest and confident recommending beers, entrees, and desserts that were spot-on. My husband wasn't familiar with the available beers, and Peter recommended the perfect beer after learning of my husband's preferences. It was tasteful and enjoyable. He ordered the amazing lamb gyros served with french fries. The marinated meat was tender, thinly sliced, and delicious stuffed into the warm pita bread with fresh toppings. My husband loves lamb and was totally impressed with the gyros. He now wants to return soon. I ordered the meatless Moussaka, with layers of eggplant, zucchini, and potatoes and garlic tomato sauce with a rich bechamel sauce. It was served with a generous fresh side salad. Peter overheard me remark to my husband, I didn't care for the meat in the moussaka. Peter checked with the chef and returned to surprise me before ordering. A meatless version was just coming out of the oven. I was thrilled and so appreciative of his thoughtfulness. And my favorite part of lunch was the desserts. When my husband was checking out the restaurant, he found a large display case filled with heavenly desserts. Even though I had already decided on dessert, I immediately went to check out the dessert case, which was filled with stunning delicacies. The preview only confirmed I had to try the bougatsa, which is phyllo dough with custard, sugar, and cinnamon, served warm from the oven in my case. I have become obsessed with these remarkable pastries. I couldn't deuvour the entire pastry as much as I tried. Just trust me, if you love warm custard as much as I do, try the bougatas. We had a marvelous time and again, thanks to Peter for being so wonderful. The food we had was fantastic and I highly recommend.

But I needed something different, because the Greek food scene here just hasn't hit the same for me after growing up around Chicago and living on both the East and West Coast. This place was exactly the kind of spot I was hoping to find. First off, the owner is an older gentleman and he's awesome. I ordered, stood at the register waiting to pay, and when he came back he asked if I needed anything else. I told him, "I need to pay," and he just goes, "No, you pay after you eat. Don't worry about it." You don't find many places like that anymore. The gyro itself was packed to the absolute brim. Honestly, it could easily be two meals. The meat had great flavor, the pita was fresh and flaky, and everything worked perfectly with the tzatziki, feta, lettuce, and tomato. The place itself is simple when you walk in. Nothing flashy, nothing overdone. But between the owner, the regulars, and the overall feel of it, it almost feels like you're sitting in someone's home you grew up in. Comfortable, welcoming, and real. Definitely a must-try. The gyro gets a solid 8.1/10 from me.

You walk in, you order at the counter, you find a table. The format is familiar. What lands in front of you is anything but ordinary. So, I am going to address the dessert situation first and without apology. I started with the baklava before the rest of the food arrived. Why? I am not a Padawan. I am a grown Jedi who has earned the right to sequence a meal however the Force sees fit, and the Force saw fit to begin with dessert. The baklava was sweet, crispy, and exactly what baklava is supposed to be when someone actually makes it properly. I considered ordering another. A Jedi exercises restraint. I waited for the rest of the order instead, which did not take long, so the sacrifice was manageable. When the full spread landed on the table the presentation alone was doing work. My partner's Greek salad with chicken kabob looked as good as it tasted, which turned out to be very good. I sampled the chicken kabob and it paired beautifully with my roasted red potatoes, which came out tasting like olive oil and lemon pepper had a perfect collaboration and decided to coat every potato equally. My Street Gyro had the kind of meat to vegetable ratio that suggests whoever assembled it understood the assignment. Good balance technically, but the balance leaned toward more meat, which is the correct direction to lean. The Ruffles chips that came alongside were a chaotic and welcome addition to an otherwise Mediterranean operation. Nobody saw that coming. I respected it. My partner finished the chocolate chip cookies and had no complaints. I had no complaints about anything. Taziki's is not trying to be a sit down Greek dining experience and it does not need to be. It does what it does cleanly, consistently, and with enough flavor to bring us back the next time the craving for Greek food makes its presence known in the Force. Five stars, would absolutely return. The baklava alone justifies the trip.

They had a stuffed wrap lunch deal with fries (or soup) and a drink for $10, and provided a massive pita for the price. I got the chicken shawarma with all the veggies they had and was not a bit disappointed. Ambience was also really nice! Very "cafe" feeling, but clean inside and out.
