I was here few months ago for dinner and my review was long due. Super nice staff, awesome Mediterranean food and nice ambience makes this a good dinner place. The appetizer platter I ordered was so so good. Especially the dips and spreads. Hummus,baba ghanoush and the tzatziki were creamy and full of flavor. My 2 year old was engaged by their decor and lighting which allowed us to have a peaceful dinner. My biggest ask is their bar menu, which can be expanded. This restaurant is a definite must, if you're near downtown Seattle. They have vegetarian and non vegetarian options, both of which we tried. I had salmon and rice (salmon was moderately over cooked) and my husband had veggie royale. He loved this. But we were both enthralled with their mezza tray which had a combination of cucumbers, tomatoes, hummus, yogurt, dolmathes, falafel, and olives. And with their warm pita bread, we honestly stuffed ourselves before the main entrees could come. Next time, some wine, this tray and good company, what a great evening. read more

Very rarely leave reviews but had a fantastic lunch here today and wanted to recommend this place, especially if you're visiting the space needle area and looking for something above the average fare located there. We had a great lunch with fast and good service. The lentil soup is great. One of our kids unexpectedly ate my wife's bowl. The garlic lemon chicken is excellent. Excellent mezze platter, especially if you love it garlicky. Staff were helpful and pleasant. The decor was more period than modern, but I especially loved the camel lantern holders, I want some for my home!! I had the Perea special with chicken and souse had the vegetarian version since that's how he rolls -- we are so much of the starters and lentil soup that we had to take most of our entrees to go, but they were delicious as improvised brunch the next day. Petra is one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants in Seattle. They have a wide variety of food options to choose from. On my most recent trip, I ordered the combo kabob plate. It included 3 meat kabobs (chicken, beef, and lamb) and 1 veggie kabob. I enjoyed the beef kabob the most and enjoyed the yellow rice that the dish came with. My fiancé ordered their spice chicken, which also came with garlic sauce and rice. This dish was also very good. Overall, another great experience at Petra and I would highly recommend trying this place out if you're in the area. read more

I've been meaning to try Petra because I see it whenever I go on any walks around the belltown area. I've seen it has stellar reviews so I had high expectations. I wouldn't say it's a bad restaurant or the food is bad at all! It was just mediocre and nothing stood out to me. The chicken kebob had great portions and I loved the veggie kebob that it came with, I was able to save half of it for lunch the next day. All entrees come with a side salad that was very good. Also tried the Ouzi and thought it was great. I guess for the price point, (~$20/entree) I was expecting a little more flavorful and robust food but I am still happy with my experience nonetheless! GREAT portions and service. We went around 6pm on a weekday and were able to sit immediately, with friendly staff and quick service. The food tasted so authentic, with the dressing being just enough for my liking (flavorful and not drowning the food) and the rice cooked nicely. The lemon garlic chicken here is pretty good. The garlic sauce is pretty tasty but different from ones I've had before. They also have a unique hot sauce I've never had either. Absolutely delicious food! I had the salmon kabob and the fish was so fresh and flavorful. My partner had the Orzo with chicken which was incredible as well! 5/5 experience at Petra on Friday night. The staff was super attentive and aware of the discomfort lack of AC would cause but they still took great care of all their customers. Our waitress was really nice and attentive to our allergies/dietary restrictions. Food was amazing. Serving size is huge on the entrees so I'd recommend splitting a couple things if you're with a group of people. My sister, friend, and I shared 2 falafel appetizer plates (each comes with 5 pieces over a salad) and hummus with 2 additional orders of pita and it was more than enough. I'd be inclined to try their Greek fries next time. I really loved the hummus but my sister did mention it was very lemony so if you're sensitive to lemon. Overall, Petra is great and you need to come by here if you're looking for good Mediterranean food in Seattle! read more

I liked Petra. I put off ordering take out from this restaurant,a couple steps from our apartment, because the reviews weren't glowing, and we know Middle Eastern food well. Between trips to North Africa, friends from Jordan, Palestine and Lebanon, we have dined on some great food. I don't include Israeli cuisine because I feel that still has some Eastern European influence. Petra certainly caters to western palates, and tones down the spices. This was disappointing. Everything was a bit dry, but tasted good. I yearned for some sauce to mitigate the puckering dryness. My favorite was the Ouzi, a Jordanian dish packed with meat, peas, rice, and flavorful spices that helped me to recall the warmth and welcome of a Middle Eastern meal. I wanted more flavor, but the dish was good. Falafel was okay, again a bit too dry. I think Petra Bistro may try to be too much, the kitchen putting out food representative of several countries: Greece, Turkey, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon etc. Perhaps if Petra focused on Jordan and the Levantine, their culinary skills would shine. Came here fo lunch yesterday with a friend who works in Belltown. Service is awesome greeted friendly upon entry and our waiter was attentive and informative, very friendly. We had a nice window seat. the space according my friend used to be smaller it's a nice size restaurant with beautiful light fixtures I have thing for light fixtures not sure why. My friend got her go to the chicken kabobs which I believe were about $12.50 looked delicious and comes with a choice of soup or salad. I went with the tabouli salad and a cup of the soup. The soup was a yellow lentil and so delicious. Packed with flavor and a smokiness to it. The tabouli was fresh and the dressing very parsley heavy more so than I expected but that's just a personal preference. Would definitely go again and get something with protein next time realized I had a totally vegan lunch and didn't realize till later and I not vegan. read more

Perhaps it wasn't clear that the reason I put Halal in parenthesis was because while they don't really have Kosher they do have Halal. and since my Kosher friends say Halal is fine with them, I mentioned it.
