Lord Snaggletooth in the oxygen case
Salina V.

Forever grateful for Pets to Vets. I took my dog to the veterinarian because he was having a hard time breathing. The veterinarian said he needed a higher level of care and needs to be transferred to a hospital in an oxygen cubicle. The veterinarian called Pets to Vets to transfer him and right away Kenny called me. He was extremely thorough about the process, the price, and what to expect from pickup to drop off. He immediately came with an oxygen tank and enclosed oxygen case. He introduced himself and again, let me know the every step of the process. He was very gently and kept me informed every step of the way. Unfortunately my dog passed away the next day and Kenny was extremely sympathetic and gave me his condolences. I had no idea such a service existed and am grateful they do exist. Would definitely recommend them !

I'd like to start by saying that I never take the time to leave reviews, I just like to read them when I'm trying to find a good food place. I also only created a Yelp account so I could leave this review lol Our dog's flight got canceled 15 hours before we all were supposed to fly out and it was an absolute nightmare. We didn't know what flight he'd be able to get on with the heat embargo's, staffing issues with airlines, airlines not flying pets "until further notice"and not being able to leave after him to ensure he actually got on a flight, yet arrive before him to also pick him up! We were finally able to get him on a flight, but the issue was not being able to arrive before him. After hours of scrambling and calling companies to see if they'll be able to pick up our baby from the airport (because apparently no one does ), we were recommended Pets to Vets from one of the hundreds of companies that only boards, but doesn't provide transportation. Long story short, Pets to Vets luckily confirmed pick up from the airport and kenneling last minute with us being ABSOLUTE LIFE SAVERS! We worked with Donald, and he's such a cool guy! We had the best stress free experience after finding this company! We got many updates on pick up, lots of pictures of our boy to ensure he was actually picked up and safe! He even got to meet farm animals so fracking cute! I don't know why the heck they make traveling with animals so difficult, but if you can get your pet on a flight and need a transportation/kenneling service until you arrive at your destination, or it needs to be kenneled overnight for a connecting flight, We recommend Pets to Vets hands down!!

In a time that we were very uncertain, these guys came and assisted us with taking our 180lb brazillian mastiff to the emergency vet hospital. He is 10 years old and seemed to have signs of a stroke so their assistance was crucial with lifting. We appreciate it greatly and are thankful for their response.

Donny (Pets to Vets, Glendale) is a true Godsend the expertise he has in handling debilitated senior pets is incredible! My 93 lb. lab lost the ability to use his hindquarters from severe arthritis which got aggravated from a fall. Donny manipulated him like he was 40 lbs. and he sold me a very reasonably-priced sling to help support pet as he walks! I love this guy and would definitely call him again if the need arose!

Our dog Rupert was critically ill and the hospital where he had been would not care for him anymore, but said that if he were transported without oxygen, he would die. I called Donny at 10:45am, he was so kind, so compassionate, and by noon he had Rupert in his van in an oxygen tent driving across town. He even sent a photo so i could see how Rupert was traveling. Once we got to the new hospital, he was so gentle helping to unload our sick boy, and moved all of his equipment along with Rupert so that he would not be out of oxygen any longer than necessary. It was a very difficult experience, but Donny made it so much less stressful. I would recommend him without hesitation. He's just a good, good soul who truly cares and that's reflected in the care he showed our boy.

Dottie home safe!

They got us the flight we needed and helped us through all the steps, told us what we needed to do and when all the way till the end! Having an English Bulldog it was terrifying to try and get her to Hawaii cause that's a long flight and flat faced dogs are difficult to crate but they comforted us and said that she would be safe and they didn't disappoint she arrived safely and we couldn't be more grateful! If you're reading this and end up using them for your animal get ready for exceptional service from people who take the time to know you, your pet and your needs!

Even though…read morehe's the sweetest dog--more likely to run from butterflies and chickens than hurt anyone, and amazing with kids, he was still considered as an "aggressive breed." and not suited for any civilian travel in cabin or during under due to him also being considered short nose. We were PCSing from Hawaii, and even MilFlights wouldn't take him last minute due to breed. In a panic and google search, I found Jeff with Furry Freight who contacted me back immediately after my request for information. He was able to accommodate us extremely last minute--literally a day before our flight after multiple failed attempts with the other major airlines. From start to finish, he came up with multiple courses of action to make sure our dog got as close as possible to our destination within the timeline we needed. The handler who picked up our dog from our home was fantastic. He was calm, great with our pup, double-checked all of our paperwork, and made sure we were confident before sending him off. Both the handler and the company kept us updated with pictures before the trip, during progress checks, and even after he was loaded. They also followed up to make sure he was picked up at the final destination. Communication was absolutely top notch. Even with the Hawaii-mainland time difference (and my stress of forgetting it sometimes), Jeff answered every call and text within minutes. Military PCS moves are stressful enough--adding pets in Hawaii with breed restrictions and weather limitations makes it even harder. Furry Freight truly took a huge weight off my shoulders, and I'm extremely grateful for the care and service they provided. I would 100% recommend them to anyone needing reliable, compassionate pet transport.

We have had to bring 2 cats here in the past 3 years, both of whom were suffering with cancer. We…read moredidn't want them to suffer, and this place was recommended by a friend who had euthanized her pet here. We got an appointment immediately. When we arrived we were almost immediately brought to a room (where they wrote his name on the door window) and were told that were could take as long as we liked - even before they had me fill out our paperwork. The explained the procedure, took him to install a catheter and brought him back. Again we were told to take as long as we needed. The procedure took less than a minute and I held him the entire time. It was quiet and painless (for him). After they gave me a paw print imprint and hair clippings (which my friend is going to make jewelry out of) I left without paying! I didn't even realize it until a few hours later and when I called to apologize (and pay) they were so understanding and friendly. The only negative thing I can say is that the parking lot is kind of small and this vet seems to be very popular. It's not a vet visit I hope you never need to go through, but if you are in a situation in which you need to, this is the gentlest space with sweetest, kindest staff.

At my May 19 consultation, I specifically explained that I was having surgery myself on May 20 and asked whether my dog's surgery could be postponed for 2 weeks. Dr. Biggo recommended surgery sooner rather than later. Based on that recommendation, I moved forward with pre-operative testing on May 24 despite recovering from my own surgery. Only after completing the pre-operative procedures was I informed that Dr. Biggo would be out of town and that the earliest surgery date available was June 17. Because timing was a central part of our discussion, I believe Dr. Biggo's upcoming absence and inability to perform surgery for almost a month should have been disclosed from the beginning so I could make an informed decision about my dog's care.

When we knew it was time, my wife started to call vets while I tried to sneak in as much extra time with my boy as I could. I can't say Hearts and Halos was the first place that we called, but I can say that I'm so happy that we ended up using their services. Mari was at our house a little over 2 hours after we called. She had a kind and soft presence and was extremely empathetic. She made what is an unavoidably brutal experience just a little bit more manageable. I'm incredibly grateful that this type of service exists. Being able to spend his last moments with him in the place that we were certain he was comfortable and at ease was invaluable.

Hearts and Halos is a veterinarian company that offers home pet euthanasia services. My husband and…read moreI decided to use them to help us put our beloved little girl, Muffin, down last month. We had the pleasure of Dr. Susan Chao come out to our home on Friday, March 20. We had a 9 am appointment (the first one of the day) and she arrived a little before. She had called me about 15 minutes prior to let me know that she would be arriving within 15 minutes. When she arrived, my husband and I greeted her and had her walk to our backyard, as this was the place I had wanted for our little girl because she loved being in the backyard to sunbathe. Dr. Chao was wonderful at guiding us through the process, explaining every step of the way and allowing us to take our time to say goodbye to Muffin. She also allowed us to give Muffin treats during the process (Muffin's last meal was a chicken nugget from Burger King and pureed chicken that Dr. Chao brought, which Muffin really did enjoy eating). Dr. Chao also did cut a piece of Muffin's fur for us to keep and placed it in a small plastic box, which she put in a small mesh bag and gave it to us as a keepsake. Muffin passed away on March 20, 9:31 am. Dr. Chao gave us some time to spend with Muffin right after and just walked towards the side of the house so that we could have privacy. Afterwards, she placed Muffin in a basket and then we walked with her towards the front of the home so that she could take Muffin with her to eventually be cremated. About two weeks later, I contacted Hearts and Halos to ask if Muffin's ashes were ready for us to pick up (please note that the company can also mail your pet's ashes to you, but we just preferred to pick it up in person). I had a hard time getting ahold of them via telephone, so I emailed the company and was able to arrange for a pickup time. I was told via email that someone was supposed to contact us that day that I had emailed them about Muffin's ashes though... This past Thursday, my husband and I went to Gardena to pick up Muffin's ashes (please note that Hearts and Halos office is now in transition to moving to Hungtinton Beach). When we arrived, an employee came out and gave us a small gift bag, that held her ashes, seeds to plant in her memory and also a small brochure regarding aftercare and additional resources for the grieving process. I do like the box that her ashes came in and also I love the small wooden heart with her name engraved on it and a small halo right above her name. The total cost for these services is $840 (you can pay via check, cash or credit card). You can also have additional items, such as an urn (which cost $60) or your pet's paw print, that will cost extra. If you do not wish to have your pet's ashes back, the cost would go down to $675, in which your pet will be part of a communal process to preserve their ashes and then will be scattered in the company's memory garden. Just as a price comparison, when we had to put down our other 2 dogs at the vet (both of our other dogs were of an emergent case and so we would not have been able to plan for their euthanasian earlier and so we would not have been able to utilize these home euthanasia services even if we had known about them at the time), at minimum, it would have cost $455 if we had made an appointment and had this service done during the day. However, both times we had to rush our dogs to the vet were during after hours and without an appointment, so the cost was around $560, which also did include their ashes. So, these home pet euthanasia services can cost an additional $100- $300 more but we felt it was worth the cost. We did not have to rush and deal with the stress and anxiety of the car ride from our home to the vet and also sit in the waiting room while they prep our dog and then say goodbye to them in the vet's office (where both of our dogs really hated going to the vet). The ability to allow Muffin to be in the comfort of her own home and to have foods that she enjoyed during the process was worth it for us. I highly recommend home pet euthanasia at home if you can afford it. I like to think that this was the much better choice for Muffin and hope that she was happy with her chicken treats right before she left us, keeping her in good spirits than to be stressed and anxious if we had chosen to bring her to the veterinarian instead. Thank you Hearts and Halos for helping us during this process.
