For those who are not or have not contemplated a move with a dog to Hawaii, it is a process. Hawaii is rabies free, which is a great accomplisment, and its amazing that has been maintained for so long. All that means they take seriously anyone bringing any animal into the state (to the islands). You need the assistance of your existing local vet and several things need to be cooridinated with the animal control folks in Hawaii, the airline you are using, and the dog's (in this case) history. This includes documentation linked to past and current rabies vaccines, an appropriate protocol for managing heart worms and fleas, the data on an inserted micro chip, a blood sample examined by one of three national labs, and a visit to the vet within 10 days of travel to certify the pet is ready and healthy enough to travel by air. Calender items are critical. Several different links, all managed by people, must be coordinated. We got very frustrated until our son in LA connected us with My Pet Mobile Vet and we met Sierra (digitally). What a god send. She picked up all the pieces, made the necessary contacts, helped secure the flight, and basically turned it into a turnkey process for a very reasonable rate. If you are traveling with a pet, particulary if Hawaii is involved, I HIGHLY recommend My Pet Mobile Vet in general and Sierra in particular, if you can get her. My strongest point of refererence: Now that I know the process, I can likely handle it myself. But if I am traveling with out dog again, I won't do that, I will call Sierra immediately. I couldn't keep them at my place because the landlord decided to redo our floors and I didn't want to put them in a kennel. When I called HPC my stress instantly melted away because Stephen said he could take in my dogs, but more than that he was so kind and reassuring. When I dropped them off, Stephen welcomed me into his home and showed me where my pups would be and I could tell they would be in wonderful hands. He sent me updates with adorable pictures of my pups and their new buddy JD, his dog. When I went to pick them up I was afraid they wouldn't even want to come home with me because they seemed like they were living the doggy dream! Yelp's reviews have mostly been helpful, until this time. My cat's blood test came back with…read moreextremely low cell count. His vet arranged for him to go to E.R. immediately. He received necessary procedures including blood transfusion to stabilize his condition. I did not want to leave him at ER for more tests and observations because I have never had any pets survived ER stays. We did receive blood transfusion and medications which seemed to be working and were told that he needed medical attention in order to survive. Since his regular vet was helpless, I decided to look into alternatives. I found this place on Yelp with raving reviews, and like most pet owners in desperate situations, I decided to give it a try. I first spoke with I believe her name was Lyric. She was very charming and well spoken, and made an appointment immediately. I also recieved a call from Yael after I emailed over my cat's medical records and was told that she thinks my cat simply had urinary track infection and she can help. During our visit, Yael and Lyric worked together and performed a basic exam, then I was told that we need a biofeedback scan which will tell us exactly what's going on. This " procedure " consist of sticking two wet pads somewhere on the underside of my cat, and the wires connected the wet pads to a laptop which supposedly would feed all the information to a program. I thought that seemed overly simple, but I was in a state of panic, I chose to believe it's some advanced science that I didn't understand. I was told that they will rush the result but it will be later that evening or next day. Then Yael proceeded to prescribe a list of remedies which is mostly supplements including a jar of homemade yogurt. The visit, including all the remedies I was told were necessary, came to just under $700. They also only accept cash or Zelle payments, no credit cards. The instruction I was given was to stop the medicationd from ER immediately and only take what was prescribed by Yael, and I did. At home, shortly after I gave my cat what Yael prescribed, he started vomiting violently and was visibly weaker. I call and told Yael what was happening and was met with loud, non-stop yelling, telling me that her remedies were right and I must follow her instructions. The biofeedback report showed pages of colorful breakdown and included readings of "pepsine secretion coefficient" and "small intestine peristalsis function" values, plus "protien metabolism value", "liver fat content value", plus kidney, lung function analysis, even blood circulation system analysis, etc. This program of theirs can read all these from two wet pad sticked to the skin of my cat? I ultimately decided to consult with a licensed vet, and luckily I found Dr. Sharp from a referral, and my cat's conditions improved without complications within days at a quarter of the cost. He is healthy and happy today. As pet parents, we are vulnerable to be taken advantage of when our pets become critically ill. I hope my experience can be helpful to anyone in similar situation and can make proper decisions for both your pets and you.

Because of Dr. Steve (another client's tip of Yunnan Baoyao herbal medicine usage), we were able to get an extra week with our furbaby where she was able to visit both grandmas (favorite ppl and homes), and a BIG goodbye party for her with her favorite people. With Dr Steve, our own furbaby was able to cross the rainbow bridge with dignity and gentle passage; she didn't leave bleeding out in pain as many big dogs do with hemangiosarcoma. Bare in mind, this happened over 6 years/2020 right before COVID shutdown happened in weeks. Sorry its taken so long for this review. Its still very tough to remember this moment and make this review. But I believe Dr. Steve deserved a great review from our experience. We even recommended Dr. Steve to family/friends living as far as SGV. Extremely kind, compassionate, gentle during and after Euthanasia. Wouldn't want to choose anyone else. He seemed experience with big dogs with hemangiosarcoma (sudden, bleeding splenic mass/Liver and spleen, cancer). Just 6months ago, our furbaby German Shepherd/Jindo mixed was healthy via xrays and check-up. But with hemangiosarcoma, its sudden and quick....guess that's the reason it's called the "silent killer". - How to make the BIG fatal decision? Well, with cancer and our situation, we were told about this roller coaster analogy that just keeps getting worse. We think she'll be be good again one day, then complete disaster the next, but it'll just continue as a downward roller coaster. Its' difficult to determine. We want her to leave in peace (not bleeding out in pain/last minute), but don't want to cut her life short. Most difficult decision to make. As an extreme food driven pup, she just stopped caring to eat at all or drink water, as well as vomiting. This came after downhill of other symptoms. Her quality of life was getting to a point where a decision was made. Dr. Steve can help guide you through this. He was great though this. 1. Appointment/Visit: - Back then, Dr. Steve was able to take appointments/visits the same day or next day 12pm-6pm (winter/day light savings moment). - During this time, we were lucky to have lived nearby and blocks away from him. We were inquiring about euthanasia at home. Sadly, it turned out to be just a week after for the actual euthanasia service. - Dr. Steve made sure our medical was all in order so he can determine our need for a future euthanasia was correct. We had all our medical x-rays, reports and such from vets to animal hospital for his review. - We got an extra week with our furbaby due to his tip with another client using the Chinese herbal med called Yunnan Baoyao. Many other vets from East Hollywood to Silverlake area didn't understand it (Eastern Medicine) back then. Yunnan Baoyao also gave my family furbaby extra months in life with all of us. Don't know when to schedule an euthanasia/put your pup down? Same. Dr. Steve was able to walk us through how we'd come up to make the decision. 2. Euthanasia: - We scheduled it the next day after coming up with our decision. Our furbaby stopped eating, and more. Dr. Steve's description of what we could experience was on point. - We was very kind, and let us process through it all. He allowed us to pass her favorite toys into the car. He handled her with care any guardian/parent would wish of their loved one. We were balling all over, completely numb after. We were lucky to have my cousins staying with us in town. They filmed it and took pictures for us. And distracted us after with others. Thank you Dr. Steve for the kindness and compassion you've shown at such a desperate to traumatic sad moment. We love our urn box of her. Cause of COVID, we didn't have a memorial or support we wished we had. Just found out our friend now does bonsai tree ceremonies for furbabies, which we may consider now. 5 years later and I'm finally willing to share her, ashes with a bonsai tree. I was trying to manage it myself for weeks and even tried an online vet--no real help. I didn't want to stress them further by taking them into a clinic, so I looked into at-home vets and found Dr. Steve. I emailed him early Sunday morning, he responded within hours, and was at my home the very next day. He examined all three cats, handled them calmly, got bloodwork done, and most importantly--got them the exact medications they needed, fast. He approved my Chewy order within hours (something that usually takes days), and also introduced me to Mixlab, where I was able to get medications in forms that actually work for my cats (like injections instead of pills). The turnaround was incredible--orders approved and shipped almost immediately. Dr. Steve is direct, efficient, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. No pressure, no unnecessary add-ons--just solid care. His pricing was also very fair. I expected to pay much more and was pleasantly surprised. Family Veterinary is a find…read more They take the city of LA vouchers (available to everyone in the city for discounted spay/neuter services - $50 off - and for some income levels for free or steeply discounted spay/neuter), which almost no one does. Making an appointment was super easy online. And with the $50 voucher, the cost was only $145 for my little dog... amazing! I recommend you get there EARLY if you're going for a spay/neuter clinic day. They say no later than 7:30 AM but I was there at around 6:45 and they were already checking people in... so go early. You pay in cash. They can also do microchips at the same time as the surgery. This was so easy compared to other places that offer similar services. And Dr. Shukman was kind and compassionate while doing the Lords work for sure.

We were hesitant to pay that amount since it was an expense not expected especially after already paying for an initial check up and vaccinations elsewhere (our cat adopted us - she just showed up in the backyard so we took her under our wing since knew the shelters are so overpopulated). Dr. Shukhman is so kind and can tell helping animals is his passion. Had a follow up question after the surgery and Mauricio was so helpful too. If your pets pick up time is before 1PM, they will contact you. The expectation is for you to come pick up your animal promptly after the call to avoid stress on the animals so make sure you hang out close to the location if don't live close. They also offer other services that can be done at the same time like microchips which we opted for as well.

She comes nearly every day to walk him, and always sends tons of pictures and messages from their walks. She is super reasonably priced and you can tell she isn't in it for the money. She goes above and beyond with last minute walks, late pick ups and early dropoffs. Millard stays with Lisa at her place when I go out of town and he could not be happier. She sends me tons of updates and is totally on top of all my asks for Millard. Not to mention Millard has fallen in love with her dog, Chester.
