Terrible experience today. Took my newly rescued 3yo Golden Retriever for a silhouette trim - after talking to the groomers for 20 minutes about the process before I booked it. Yet when I got there, they took him from me but brought him back in 5 min saying he wouldn't go in the crate. I'm Like WHAT CRATE? Because this dog is wayyyy too traumatized to willingly enter a crate and THEY NEVER TOLD ME he'd have to be put into / taken out of a crate like 4-5 times! Only then do they tell me that if I pay EXTRA they'll take him 'express' and not keep putting him in a crate making him Wait FIVE HOURS to complete a simple bath and trim. Why didn't they tell me any of this on the phone ahead of time?? Needless to say we left with no services provided and WILL NOT BE BACK. read more

If you want good customer service or a good grooming for your dog, do not take them to the petsmart in Brooklyn on Avenue D. I had an appointment on Saturday at 10 am and they canceled at 9, I rescheduled for Monday at 9 am and when I showed up the person who was supposed to perform the service (Allison) had a nasty attitude from the moment I walked in. My appointment was at 9 and I arrived at 9:15 but she was obviously did not want to perform the service. I needed to show my dogs vaccination records and she immediately started telling me I will need to reschedule despite me pulling up the record on my Banfield pet hospital app. I left because I did not want her to mistreat my dog and her attitude suggested she would. My dog is 9 years old and has been going to petsmart and Banfield (which is inside of petsmart) all her life. The associates at that Brooklyn location always have a nasty attitude and they give terrible haircuts and have even cut my dog and made her bleed on multiple occasions. I blame myself for being g lazy and not finding better and more competent groomers sooner but I will never go back there and I don't suggest that anyone who cares about their pet go there either for grooming services. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I typically don't write reviews but I had a very POOR experience at this location. I've been going here for a few years and Kristen was an AMAZING groomer to my dog. She had recently left the location so my dog was assigned another groomer named LIZ. She was very afraid to touch my dog, made a fuss about a little matted hair near his tail, and did not seem to b experienced as a groomer or very patient with dogs. She even made a note to tell me "if I cut his hair it will be uneven". So I immediately took my dog and left. I could tell she was not interested and I may b unhappy with the end result of his grooming experience. I will not be returning to this location. read more

PetSmart delivery is terrible. They did not deliver what i ordered. Nor did they deliver the number of items I was supposed to receive. They failed to correct the problem. They did issue a refund after their second failed delivery attempt. The next day I went to the Greenburgh NY PetSmart store which is the store that failed to provide me with what i ordered. What I discovered is that they did not even have the product that I ordered in their store. They could never have fulfilled my order. Their website asserts that the product is in the store. This is an unacceptable business practice. They should have been honest and have notified me that they could not fulfill my order instead of first claiming they delivered the item and then, after i complained, sent me something I did not order. read more

This review is for the pet smart on 8725 Avenue D in Canarsie Brooklyn and my dogs groomers name is BIANCA--- If I can give this place a ZERO I would. I dropped off my dog at 9:00AM, I was even there before the doors even opened. My dog had a 9:00am appointment with groomer BIANCA. And my dog wasn't groomed until 1:20pm and that was because I called them to see if he was finished. From a 9am appointment I was told 3-4 hours and when they didn't call me at 1:20pm they informed me they haven't even started because there was another 9:00am appointment with a dog with heavy matting and my dog was an easy job. Not to forget we got there first before everyone anyway. I guess you have to know people in this place or hence your dog will suffer too!!!! If my dog was an easy job BIANCA should've started him first rather than have my dog suffer a total of 8 hours in the groomers. Mind you they even tried to console us with a discount as if that was suppose to ease the suffering of my dog. And they brought Nouba all wet and smelling like poop and she said: we cleaned it up as best we could and she handed us our puppy, and that was our experience. I've taking my dog three times to this location..The first time he was around 12 weeks or so. He didn't get a full cut as he was still a baby. I wasn't happy with his cut but I figured it's the first time. The second time I was specific of rhe cut and style I wanted..The groomer did okay that time. Today I dropped him off at 9:17 am for his 9:15 am appointment.. I requested the same person that groomed him the last time... His cut looks choppy and no where near a Teddy bear look as prior. The time to groom is supposed to be 2 to 3 hours. I'm just getting my dog..I was told that he was a little matted and it took time. Before you leave your dog they are checked a d I brush his hair daily or every other day. Between the 8 hours and the hair cut that looks like I did it at home! Definitely will not return to this location.. I paid all times between $100 - $147. Today I was given a 25% off due to long hours. Honestly it's either y'all get rid of the lady with dreads or shut down the store!! Cause I cannotttt deal with the rudeness and the bad customer service I received. It's soooo bad that's there's multiple complaints about this lady. Came here one day to get my dog groomed and thought I wouldn't need my dogs vaccination papers because it's already in the system but she said no I still need it. Luckily it was in the car so I went to grab it. Came back and the lady took my folder and literally said that the vaccines were expired(which they weren't) so I said no there not and tried to show her. Today was my second time visiting this location and the associate named Karina was so helpful! She not only took me to the location of each item that I needed but she also recommended the Authority dog food brand to me. I told her that I had heard that the pedigree and purina brands weren't so great but that's what I was currently feeding my dog. She walked me through the ingredients and then offered me more cost friendly and healthier suggestions. I'm sure my dog will love the brand since he eats anything but I feel much better knowing that I'm going to be feeding a food that will nourish his body and not just filling him up. Karina also gave me a coupon for the Authority brand and that was a huge plus to be able to try the food at a lower price. Stacy at the checkout lane definitely offered me a fast and courteous checkout process. I had an appt on Sunday 05/22 at 8:15am with VANESSA. First issue- I've come to this Petsmart a few times before, and never have I had an issue with mats. I brush my dog regularly and to make sure there weren't any tangles the day of the appt, I made sure to brush her out for an hour before the appt. The first thing VANESSA said is "oh she's matted". Excuse me? My dog is a shorkie, her coat gets tangled easily but it's even easier to comb out. My second issue- while she's doing the "assessment", I look at the board with the groomers' names and how many appts they have. I don't understand why one groomer has 3 different animals at the same time. How does that make sense? Is that why I didn't get a call that my dog was ready until 2:08pm?! 6 hours?! Third issue- my baby's neck!!!! When I came to pick her up, VANESSA didn't even bring her out to me, someone else did. Now I'm wondering if it was because she knew what she did to her neck. My dog is the most docile animal, so I KNOW she did not give VANESSA any problems. I paid $150 for my dog to literally come out looking like a naked mole rat with a huge open wound. I visited Pet Smart for grooming services. I directed the groomer to cut my dog's body hair a little lower and to leave my dogs hair on its head full. Well, I mind as well have told my dog these instructions, because the groomer failed to follow direction. My dog was left practically bald, and there were clipper marks left in his arm, and under his neck. My dog is now completely demoralized. Cause he received such a drastic cut. My groomer (Alicia she has dreads with an accent) took good care of my little baby (Blondie) he is a handful and it takes me a hour to shower him because he is so impatient but she did it in under 30 min --Very fast service-- . The salon was supposed to be open at 9:00 am. No one showed up until 9:45. My appointment was at 9:15 am that morning. My pup had a haircut the month before so it wasn't that much to do. Around 2 o'clock I became worried because I hadn't received a called to pick my pup up. I called and the groomer Wesley said he was good and well behaved that they had to take care of another dog because of its behavior. Not until 4 o'clock they called for me to pick him up. Update: I no longer bring my little dog to this location. They left powder in his ears and when I got home I discovered he had angry red razor marks on his tummy and front leg joint (underarm?). Also, he exhibited fear of feet and acted like he was scared of me for a week and a half. I didn't lodge a complaint, because I know he can be fearful of grooming when not handled gently. Still I wish they would simply call me to come get him and not maim him if they feel he's difficult to handle. I'm going to take it as a lesson and be glad he's not more seriously hurt. This store is very clean and it's very easy to find what you are looking for. Everyone that works there is very friendly and very knowledgeable on the products in the store. That is a big plus. I got information for my cats, and my turtles. I switched to a new cat food brand and if they don't like it, I can bring it back and get a refund. My turtles got a new tank, so they are now hooked up. As soon as you walk in the door there is always someone ready to assist you. That I like. Another perk is you can bring your pets in the store. Don't forget to get a card because you can get discounts and email for when there are sales. read more
