Poor selection of large dog harnesses. Needs more people working the floor and better lighting I felt like I was in a dungeon. It's really hard to track down some help. One manager there walks very fast with his head down, does not seam to concerned with the customers. Parking situation needs help. Hope to find a better pet store in clarksville. read more

I took my 12 week old puppy here for a bath. Asked if I could wait for her when making the appointment a few days prior. They said it should only take an hour and could do some shopping around the store while waiting. It took over three hours! They took her to the back and stuck her in a kennel! I made them aware my dog was nervous and this was her first time with loud noises and being away from me. No problem they wouldnt use the dryer there. They went against my wishes. The only good thing I have to say is her coat was shiny and white and she smelled good, however she was very nervous. Now as for the Pet store itself is pretty good. Not many other option in collars other than flat collars and cheap prong collars. I use martingales on all of mine, and am lucky to find one there. SOME of the people are willing to help and are knowledgeable, while others have no business working in a pet store. read more

I should have looked at the reviews here prior to taking my dogs to get groomed but I had a very positive experience with the Petsmart grooming at the last place we lived and thought that since it was the same company they would have the same standards. First, when I arrived at my scheduled appointment time they did not have me on the schedule, then acted like it was an inconvenience and didn't have time to deal with me even though it was their error, not mine. When they thought I only wanted a bath for my dogs they said they didn't have time and I would need to reschedule, but when I mentioned that it would be for the more expensive "furminator" option then they decided they could fit us in. However, I don't think they actually did the furminator treatment because my dogs were shedding within a week, which has never happened in the past. What was more disturbing was how my dogs behaved when I picked them up, again, totally unlike any time that I've dropped them off anywhere for grooming, boarding, etc. They were very nervous and literally tried to take off running to the car! I'm not sure what happened while they were there, but if my dogs are acting more scared when I pick them up than they do when we leave the vets after shots then I think there is a problem and I will never take them there again. read more

I called the Clarksville PetSmart this morning to see about getting my dog in for a nail trim, they told me I didn't need an appointment but I did need the rabies vaccination paperwork from my vet. No problem there. When I got to the store I spoke with the woman, I didn't see a name tag so I can't help with her name. I gave her my paper and she got my dog in the system she told me that since my dog's nails were long they would need to be trimmed as well as the grinding, again no problem. As I was signing the sheet for the visit I watched the woman drag my dog from beside me to behind the counter, a distance of around five or six feet. Literally drag, with the leash while my dog protested. When I told the woman not to drag my dog she apologized several times. I should have known right there to just ask for my dog back and leave but it had been a month since my dog had her nails trimmed so it was necessary. I waited in line to pay for the service but as I did I got more infuriated with the woman. Once I noticed her standing out front with my dog I went over and retrieved her but not before giving her a piece of my mind. I asked if it was in normal practice to drag animals when they don't want to go with them. Her response, "No, it's just to get them behind the door." I told her that my dog was about thirty pounds so she is easily able to be lifted rather than dragged. I know that had I not said anything to her she would have found her actions justifiable and not thought them as being wrong. I was raised in a household where animals were not just pets but they were family members. I grew up with more pets than humans in my family so I know how to treat an animal, and I know if that woman was dragged by her leash she wouldn't have liked it one bit. As I said, I didn't notice a name tag for the woman but she was in grooming attire. I hope this will get read and not brushed aside because I feel that woman should be retrained in proper animal handling or be moved to another department of the store. A. Newton read more

I needed goldfish and the stuff that goes with the aquarium and petsmart was the perfect first stop. If they didn't have the right equipment they even recommended another pet store in the area that may have what I'm looking for. I know it's a national chain, but they really delivered great customer service and advice. read more

I took my mini schnauzer there on the May 7 2013, and was shocked to see that Yvette shaved her so close on her face that it cut the top layer of skin off! There was also a cut on her neck. I did not see the mark when I picked her up, because of course she was excited to see all the other dogs inside. I looked her over and left. The girl that went to get her said that she did fine but was not the one that groomed her. When I got home I saw the marks and immediately called back. They told me to come back the next day when the manager was there. I came back after work and the manager gave me a refund and let the vet look at her and give her some medicine free of charge. She also gave me a free grooming for next time (which I will not be using.) This is unacceptable to me. If you mess up and cut my dog, atleast tell me, get her the care she needs that day, and apologize. No one said anything to me and I had to come all the way back to the proper care for her. Now it is a bloody scab, and I'm sure it is very irritating, since it is right beside her eye. Yvettelooked at me and my dog when I brought her in the next day to talk to the manager and never apologized, only scowled at me. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!! read more

My newly adopted came to us with worms. We love the little guy and wanted to do everything we could to help him so I ran to pet smart to see what they had to help with this. Pet Smart only offered one medication that was $25. They lady at Pet Smart swore that she had given it to her cat and that he took 2 bites of his food with this stuff in it and stuck his nose up at her and would not eat anymore. She store that while her cat ate very little that it cured his worms (which it may e I don't know). My cat was given all 3 of these pills/ tablets and it had no effects on his worm problem what so ever! The worst part is that PET SMART REFUSED TO TAKE THEIR PRODUCT BACK EVEN THOUGH IT DIDN'T WORK! They told me that they were sorry that it didn't work, but that this was their policy and that there was nothing that they could do. I've shopped Pet Smart forever. I used to buy all my cat food from there, but I refuse to shop at a place that doesn't stand behind their products!!! read more

The store is great. The grooming department on the other hand is a nightmare. I brought my dog here today for grooming. He is a 9 lbs Maltese, and he was there for 7 hours. I called twice wondering what's going on and they said they have plenty of dogs to take care of. Why accept more than they could handle? His hair cut is OK, just trembling a bit when I picked him up. When we arrived home, he peed like a bucket. I feed him dinner immediately and he cleaned up his plate (very unusual) so fast. I bet he must be in the kennel all the time while waiting for his turn without a bathroom break. I doubt if they even gave him water or treat. This happened to me a second time, the first one is at Petsmart in Lacey, Washington. The problem with this store is, they accept too many dogs at a time, more than they could handle. What's the use of getting an appointment then when your dog has to wait for more than 3 hours for his turn. I definitely will NOT bring my dog here anymore. read more
