My Pets are pretty Smart, in that they told me I can find much cheaper Pet stores than this. Expensive but they have a good selection and they are pretty friendly. The problem is the prices - and also when you see these pets in here it's just heartbreaking because I don't think people should be buying animals. We should just be taken care of rescues. But that's who we are. We suck. It's in the beautiful fancy shopping plaza in The Woodlands - one of the prettiest shopping centers I've ever seen. read more

I'm not sure what is going on with the Magnolia location but the staff seems to be having some problems with the scheduling software. I booked an appointment for my dog (Millie) online for 10:00 am on Saturday July 15th. When I arrived, I was told that my appointment was at 9:00 and they had tried to contact me several times, but cancelled my appointment since I was a "no-show". I knew that nobody had called, so checked my app and confirmed with her that my appointment actually was at 10:00 and showed it to her on my phone. She seemed to be having a great deal of trouble looking it up on the computer, but finally took Millie back to be washed. About an hour later, I received a notification that Millie was ready, so I paid online and picked her up. About 30 minutes later I received a phone call letting me know that Millie was ready to be picked up, but by that time she was already home. Today I received a voice mail message asking if i wanted to re-schedule Millie's appointment since I had missed it yesterday. I've been bringing my dog there for several years and it's never been this way. It may be a computer system problem or poorly trained staff. read more

SENT ME HOME WITH TOYS COVERED IN URINE AND OUR BAG HAD A OLD PIECE OF POOP IN IT! My dogs are my entire world. I was going out of town and decided to give petsmart a try as I've been a customer for many years. When I got there to pick up my dogs, they checked us out and didn't tell us how the dogs did. Nothing. No report card for the stay. I paid for them to be in a suite and expected them to do their job. However, when I picked up my dogs, they seemed very off. They smelled of urine, they were exhausted, starving and thirsty and our toy bag we brought smelled awful. Upon further inspection, there was a full size turd in the bag, urine soaked toys and I even had to throw out my dogs favorite toy since she was a baby because it was so far gone. I immediately called the store to let them know what happened. The person who answered the phone didn't want to deal with it and transferred me to someone else. (Mind you I called the phone number and selected the pets hotel when I called) That person apologized and seemed somewhat sympathetic and transferred me to another person that I was told was a manager. This person could not have cared any less about me or my dogs if she tried. I told her what happened. She said I'm sorry about that and there were literally crickets. When I say "crickets" I mean their was dead silence on the other line. She didn't try to remedy the situation, didn't try to win my business back, Nothing. I told her that I will NEVER be back to any petsmart ever again for the rest of my life and she didn't say a word. I will be calling corporate on this petsmart. This will NOT be the last this store will hear from me. I intend to take legal measures to insure no other dog or cat is put in the position my babies were in. I genuinely am hurt by this and don't want any one else to go through this. read more

Too much too see, not enough for cats and when you come in with a precription food for your Pet, you get the card from Banfield, but then you have to buy it from Petsmart. When you ask if they know the proper feeding amount for a $3 can of food you would expect somebody would know. I do like that they give you a paper and an emailed receipt.. read more

Please beware if you take your pet to the grooming dept! The groomer at Petsmart cut my dog's paw & did not mention it to me when I picked her up! When I got her out of the truck, there was blood all over the back seat. I looked at her front paw & it was bleeding. I called the store, they apologized & told me to take my dog to the vet inside the store. The next day, when the vet was open - I took my dog back into Petsmart, showed the grooming dept, & then took her to the vet. They told me to put neosporene on her paw for a few days. I took my Great Pyrenees here to get groomed many times. The only groomers that did it impeccably were Stephanie Y. and Bella. The last time I had a grooming appointment was with someone whom I didn't know was an intern (it wasn't listed online, just showed she was available). You could tell she was nervous, but she said she worked with Great Pyrenees growing up. She and a few other employees wanted to shave my whole dog down to nearly skin because of some matting on his back legs. You don't shave a double coated dog unless over 50% of his body is matted and not able to brush. I had to speak with three employees to get them not to shave him. I said I was fine with spot shaving if they cannot brush a matt out. That's what ended up happening. So, great. But the groomers I dealt with that day are condescending and do not handle conflict well. One of the women on the phone (after I already dropped my dog off) resorted straight to "well you can come get him and wait for Stephanie to be available." I hadn't even mentioned Stephanie's name but once, happily, while dropping him off because I figured if she were there she could verbally help the intern. After speaking with the rude woman, a manager came on the phone who was nice but still not educated enough to know you don't shave a double coated dog unless circumstances are extreme. Idk these groomers are odd. I work as a service provider as well and would never handle client interaction like this. read more

Bought an inflatable dog collar from here a week ago. Opened it today, when my pooch actually needed it. It was covered in about an inch-tick layer of another dog's hair. A collar they sold as 'new.' Thanks, my sick dog that is currently on anti-inflammatory meds needed exactly an inch of another dog's hair that's probably contaminated with ringworm to feel better. First, you injure my pup at the doggy day care, second you give me a cat that has ringworm for adoption, last you sell me used bs as new goods. I mean, I would understand a hard-to-notice scratch on a pet gate that was returned. But this one was CLEARLY used more than once. I hope y'all go out of business and get heartworm. read more

The grooming service is TERRIBLE and terrifying. One of the technicians stated to me that she knew from the computer notes that there were supposed to be two people with my dog while grinding his nails. She then ignored the notes and my verbal instructions and tried to do it alone. As a result, my dog slipped off the table and was hanged for several terrifying moments until another person rushed over to lift him back. And THIS is what they do when the customer is watching. read more

Took our dog to the salon at Petsmart today. The groomer felt that the few small mattes behind the ear and one the rear of our sheltie meant he should shave it. When he offered this solution he was told no-- this is not a breed you shave. He did it anyways. When we called to talk to Paul he told us our dog was so matted there was no other choice. He then proceeded to inform us that because we had an issue with the performance we were not a good fit and it would be noted on our file to not be allowed to return to the groomer. Have been a loyal customer to Petsmart for 20 years and 8 different pets. Between food, grooming, pet care needs, hoteling, etc we've probably dropped $15000 there. Welp, never again. And the issue islent even with the groomer (though he needs training), it's with the completely rude and unprofessional manager Paul. Worst grooming experience I've ever had. Took to puppies in for the first time....4.5 hours later I pick my puppies up and my Maltipoo was shaved completely bald!!!! They were both acting strange and terrified. They are still being jumpy somethings not right at this grooming place. I should have been concerned when I called to book the appointment I heard Lira of dogs barking in the back ground and I heard an associate yelling at the dog to stop barking. It was a bad choice for me to take my puppies here. I don't recommend it at all and the nails were so sharp they cut our skin.... apparently filing is extra. Terrible place. read more

Grooming Experience: went in for the Bath & Brush package and we received a very bad bath and brush. My dogs hair is curly so you could tell his hair was barely brushed when they said he would get a 15min brush, he smelled like he was bathed in a area that doesn't get cleaned between dogs being bathed. He DID NOT SMELL CLEAN. The package also offered a sanitary trim and scissoring of the paws and shaving of the pads, NONE OF THAT WAS DONE!!!!!!!!!! Before I left I did make them do the sanitary trim but didn't notice his paws until I got home. Absolutely ridiculous, he was there for 4 + HOURS!!!!!!!! If you want a professional bath and brush GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This place is a JOKE. P.S. I have many years of experience with taking my dog to get services like this here in Texas and out of state and this is THE WORST we have experienced. read more

The grooming service in The Woodlands on I-45 next to Sams sucks. Don't wast your time. They upsale you on furminator & nail trim. Well guess what?!?! The don't do squat. I picked up my dog & none of the services I paid for were done & then they told me I need to have him furminated & nail trim!!! WTF?! I told them that's exactly why he was there & that's what I paid for. I made a follow up appointment & they couldn't find his records & refused to take him without it. What is up with the stores in the Woodlands area these days? I just went in to buy Fresh Kisses treats for my small dog and all of the large boxes were expired! Some as far back as August 2020! These people never knew anythign about the fish that I inquired about..and due to their bring a fish back that dies before 7 days policy, I had to take advantage of it quite often. One time, they tried to tell me I killed the fish!! Umm, no...the others in the tank from another pet store are doign just fine but now I have to clean out a contamentated tank, due to wahtever your fish had that you sold me. Steer clear of a place that never cleans their tanks and always has dead fish floating around. One another worse note: one time we saw a rat and pointed it out to them thinking that one escaped. Took my puppy here for grooming..... Never again! My appointment was at 12:30 when I tried to confirm the appointment I was told I don't have one and that I lost my space. I showed they lady my email confirmation and she said,"oh, ok! It's fine some else canceled." I dropped my puppy off at 12:30 and was told it would take 3 hours. After about 3 1/2 hours I called because I didn't hear anything and they oh he's almost ready! 2 hours later they finally called and said he was completed. My puppy is a mini Yorkie that only weighs 2.6pounds. I am not sure it could have taken nearly 6 hours to groom him. Once I arrived they brought him out..... He's looked the same as when I left him. He had only been washed. When I dropped him I told the young lady I wanted him washed and shaved. She asked how much shaved off and I said half of the length. When I picked him up he was not shaved. I asked the groomer to please trim him more. She took him and said its hard because he moves too much. Finally she managed to trim his entire body in about 2 minutes flat. Poor baby, his hair is all uneven and not done with excellence. As she handed me back she said he need to go to their dog training because he was out of control. I was shocked because her paper report card she gave said the opposite! Perhaps she's new or was tired but I work hard for my money and $50 for nothing is hard to pay. read more

This is my go to pet store for all my pet needs. For whatever reason Blue stopped carrying the sensitive stomach cat food I need and the gentleman was super helpful and looked up other stores to see if they had any and then helped me with mail ordering it. They give you free shipping when ordering at the store and it makes it more convenient when you are purchasing the large bags and don't have to load or unload from your car. I've had a betta for over a year that I got from there and recently picked up another. Grooming is super easy and pretty quick at setting up appointments although cat grooming is only mon-fri which makes it difficult for me to use so I've never used that service but I have used for the dog and she's a very timid, scared dog and does well with them. read more

This company runs a racket! I was in the Tomball location earlier today to get dog food, but remembered that I needed to go check out the pet hotel at the Woodlands location. The pet food I normally get at the Tomball location was on sale for $35, when I went to purchase it at the Woodlands location it was $42. I inquired with this store associate why this was and she told me that different locations charge different prices. I will be not be shopping at Petsmart anymore. BTW at the pet "hotel", they get put in a cage which they call a "room" and only let out twice a day, unless you pay more for a suite or pay even more for play time. Are you serious??? It sounds like jail to me. read more

I only go to petsmart for hermit crab supplies but I pretty much rotate between two aisles.... The reptile aisle and the aquarium aisle. They have the best selection of sand, wood climbing perches, food bowls, etc and they always have exactly what I need- that's saying A LOT because I am here every other week picking up something. This Sunday, when I was there, I had a few question about aquarium cleaning supplies (I only use organic, eco-friendly products) and the salesman that assisted me was very helpful and was able to answer all of my questions! read more

Never Again. I have bought several fish and tanks from this store, However after my last experience I am done. I went in to get a Gold Mystery snail. There is an employee at the fish station stuffing her face with Cheetos. I walk right by her and she sees me but says nothing. I make my way to the snails. In the tank there is two live snails and about 15 dead snails. I decided I wanted one of the live snails. I figure I can help it have a better life. I look over at Cheeto Stuffer still stuffing Cheetos. So I move down a little looking at the tanks thinking maybe she will say hello, can I help you or what do you want? I'm busy stuffing Cheetos in my pie hole. This is when I notice actually how nasty all the tanks are and the amount of dead fish, and Algae on the glass. Still nothing. I walk away to go get.some filter media for my tanks thinking she will be done stuffing in a minuet the she will help me. I come back down the isle to find her talking at a lady while still stuffing. I walk up to the fish station where she is still standing. She looks right at me while telling this lady how they got new fish the day before, and hat she has worked there for two years. I am thinking she is almost blabbing and I can get my snail. This is when I notice the grubby little orange digits with little pieces of Cheetos stick to them. I think to myself is she going to wash her hands before she gets my snail? Has she washed her hands before she started stuffing her face? She has worked here for 2 years and could care less about these tanks and the unsightly nature of them. Good job girl, good job. Anyway to make a long story longer I turned around shook my head walked to the register. I payed for my filter media and left. This was July 12 @ 11:00am maybe things have changed since then. read more

We picked our boxer up from his bath today and they didn't dry him because he was biting at the air from the dryer which he always does playfully. This is the best pet smart I have been to. I previously went to another pet smart and got ripped off. I spent over 60.00 on fish, equipment, and food for the fish. Unfortunately I had to return the fish twice and after the second time I decided to go to another pet smart. I arrived at the pet smart and got greeted with friendly and happy smiles and everyone was very attentive. I was looking for a new betta fish and notice that there weren't any available. So I asked my husband to go and see if they had any , we asked and they said that they were being quarantine due to the fact they were shipped a bad batch and were treating the fish. They didn't want to sell something that wasn't good quality and wasn't going to last. I said that was amazing that they did that and that they were caring about the animals and the customers. So I told my husband let's get something else. We decided to get a few other fish and asked savannah for help , she helped us a lot she gave us a lot of knowledge and advice and explained to her what happened at the previous pet smart. She is the best sales manager I have ever meet and knows a lot of knowledge as well. We will be coming back to this pet smart again for now on this is the only place I trust! read more

Took both our dogs to petsmarts grooming center Ethyl is a single coated dog and was getting a trim however our other dog Lucy is double coated and had some lattes on her belly and since it was coming up on summer we decided to groom her. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR DOUBLE COATED DOGS THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY TAKE CARE OF THEM. Instead of trimming the mattes out on near the base they decided to take a shaver DIRECTYLY TO THE. SKIN leaving a horrorific razor burn she been in pain the past 3 days. I can't believe this happened never EVER did they do this before. We put a cone on her to stop the chewing and puts some cream on her but this is unforgivable. read more

Again, please be careful when visiting this salon. It's two months later, and my pup's hair is growing back, but since his horrible experience at this location, I noticed a part on his body where he was nicked and bruised. As a result, a small section of his coat has a hole in it where the hair is growing back at a slower rate than the rest. So, not only did Laura completely shave my baby's hair by mistake, she cut him without informing me and the evidence is clear. I am so disappointed in the unprofessionalism here. Had I known she cut him, I would've asked for reimbursement to the Banfield clinic. read more

Terrible pet hotel. Called several days before our reservation and was told they would contact our vet for records and if we needed anything else. Never contacted and showed up on our way out of town to find out they never contacted our vet. Then we were out on a vaccine we could have gotten if they did their job, but they have a 24 hour wait policy. Place is a complete joke at doing their job. Also smelled like pee all over the hotel at 7 am when they first opened. Can't pick up a mop?! Never using a PetSmart for shopping even after this terrible experience. read more

It took over three hours for a simple bath & face trim. She was clean when I picked her up, but they had not even brushed her hair. For $51, I truly expected more. The first time I took my pet to be groomed was quick & complete. The past three times have gotten worse each time. I will not go back. Last Thanksgiving my plans changed and I was forced to board my two dogs (lab-mix and shih tuz). So unfortunately I was only left with this Petsmart Hotel. I called about a month ahead, made reservations and gave them all the instruction on caring for my dogs. First disappointment was that they only have one small sized kennel to choose from. Sure you can get one with a glass door and TV but it is the same size as the classic kennel. I selected to have my dogs, who are joined at the hip, share a classic kennel. Well, I arrived early as instructed to fill out paperwork and make it easier on them since there were so many pets being checked in right before the holiday. I filled out the paper work and the staff member who was checking me in was NOT focused on us at all. I felt as if he could care less that I was leaving my family members in his care. I gave him the feeding instructions twice (feed the lab separately and with a raised feeding bowel, feed them this amount of dry food and this much wet, and allow them two opportunities to eat a day). These were no complicated instructions. I asked if if he got everything and wanted him to repeat it but he just dismissed me and said he had it all. This was after he already admitted it was inputted incorrectly from when I called ahead and gave the reservation lady the same information. I also noted that my lab tends to drink too much and then hold his bladder too long and is prone to infections. I asked him to please limit the amount of water just a little since the Petsmart policy is to only walk them twice a day. He said he couldn't do that... I said well fine, so I paid for them both to have an extra walk/play session each day. That way i figured that there shouldn't be a problem. When I went to pick up my pets I was soooooo upset! When I got there they tried to charge me for picking the pets up after noon. I told him that I asked two staff about any additional fees for picking them up in the afternoon and they all denied it. He argued with me but eventually said that he was not going to charge me even though he should. Then when I looked at their stuff I saw that their bed smelt like it was saturated in urine! My pets smelt like they had been left in their own urine. But funny thing... the three toys they brought from home that I was promised would be placed in their kennel smelt like they had not left the bag. Then I looked in their bag and notice that the wet food had not even been opened or touched! I called him back and asked him what the instructions said and they said to include wet food... I asked why it wasn't touched when I had given them the instructions as well as writing them in marker on the food can and bag? He showed little concern and didn't even apologized. This place is horrible!!!! I felt so bad, god knows what these people did or did not do when my dogs were in their care. I will cancel a vacation before leaving my dogs there again! Also, just FYI they do not even walk the dogs outside. Instead they make them relieve themselves in a room with a concrete floor that they hose out. Gross. I decided to swing by this PetSmart since i was on this side of town. Due to the lack of cleanliness and unacknowledged employees, I'm giving my experience here 2 stars. On my way to the back of the store there was a mess on ever aisle. One of the aisles i had to go down there was a ripped bag of cat food laying on the floor with the food scattered all over the place. Near by, 3 aisles over, there were two employees laughing and talking about what they did the night before. I understand you will have moments at work where you can talk to your co-workers, but when your store is in that type of condition, save the conversation for later. Someone could have really hurt themselves if they slipped and fell! read more

Joy is the worst and representative of how far downhill the grooming department has fallen since we started taking our dogs there in 2003. We have been loyal customers for my mom's two dogs, my sister's two dogs and my puppy when I got him in 2011. Last Saturday just confirmed what I had pretty much known--the grooming department is beyond help. Inefficient and horrible communication. Dropped off my dog and had to wait 20 minutes while the staff was dicking around. Two computers and neither of the employees up front checking any of the five dogs waiting to check in. I was then told I was late because the person taking my appointment had told me 12:30 when apparently my appointment was 12. I then asked if they were still planning on working me in, they said they would. Fine, I appreciated that. I called to check to see how much longer my dog would be at around 3:30 just because of the confusion re: the appointment time. They assured me he would be ready by 4:45PM. Arrived at that time, and my dog looked like he was just placed on the block. But since they insisted it would only be a "few minutes," I didn't question it just because I had never had problems with them staying true to that "few minutes" when they've told me that in the past. Didn't finish with him until an HOUR later. Forty minutes in when I tried to pick him up (planning a party and the food was being delivered), they basically told me that the delay was my fault because I had arrived late. They sent me back out. Instead of getting me to tell me my dog was finished, the groomer put him BACK in the kennel in and proceeded to write a report blaming my dog for being "wiggly" during the grooming process. And then they had the gall to act snippy with me when I expressed my frustration with the store manager. Go anywhere but here and save yourself the headache. read more
