I wanted to surprise my mom while I dog-sitted for her. She's 83 and on a fixed income. I brought in Lucy her Cocker Spaniel mix for a groom. I verified twice with the groomer that I wanted a cocker cut which was the same as she was already cut, just shorter. When I returned to pick her up, she was completely shaved!! As if the groomer messed up so she decided to just shave Lucy down. She looked horrible. Maybe she was new ?? She offered 15% off, and I still tipped her $5 because she did work on her,but I was VERY unhappy and the look of disappointment on my mothers face when she saw her little Lucy was sad. Every time I talk to a groomer, I get different answers. I explain my dog is a senior, 15 years old, with hip issues and he needs grooming and nails clipped. No problem, we will just take our time said the groomer. Great! I bring him in for nail clipping. Now he's suddenly too old, and PetSmart won't trim his nails. Please note, just a month ago, another PetSmart bathed, groomed, and clipped his nails. I believe it depends on the groomer, this one couldn't do it because she didn't have the physical ability, panting and sweating, after only bending down with my dog. PetSmart should have clear policies so I wouldn't feel jerked and disrespected. read more

Don't book with Elizabeth. She didn't want to work from the moment I dropped the dog off even insinuating that I should reschedule. Then she turned around and put a block on my Petsmart account preventing me from being able to make another grooming appointment online for a different dog I had. There was absolutely no reason for her to do this to me as there were no attitudes exchanged, we were both very nice to each other so I'm confused. So now I have to go to call the 800 number. Absolutely horrible service. Avoid this Petsmart and never book with Elizabeth if you want to be able to actually continue grooming at Petsmart. I do not recommend going to their grooming salon. The lady working their made up a story of my dogs hair being to matted and that she couldn't trim him. My dog is only a 3 month old yorkie. I took him to another grooming location ( not petsmart ) and they said they never heard of somthing like that and they would be more than happy to groom him. read more

I did a curbside pick up order. I just had to wait 25 minutes for them to bring the item to my car. There is a button you push on their app and they are supposed to bring the order to you. I waited 20 minutes then called the store. Who ever answered the phone said well did you call us? My response no I hit the button. their response Oh what's your name? I gave them my name and then someone comes out to my car and asks what my name is again. Then they asked what I ordered. I stated dog toys. Finally after 25 minutes I received my order. I will not be using this store for curbside pick up ever again. I will use any other store and I used to work at that store. read more

Groomers: I've come in twice for a bath and nail trim, the ladies in here are always really nice and get the job done in the time they say it will get done and they're friendly. Store: every time I walk in they greet me and ask if I need anything. If they see me wandering they also ask if I need anything. Super friendly. read more

Love this Petsmart! The staff is very friendly and helpful, don't let the negative reviews fool you. After reading some of the reviews I was apprehensive about taking my cat to get a nail trim but I decided to give them a shot. Upon entering the grooming area i was greeted by the friendly groomers and asked for a nail clip (no appt needed) and was promptly helped. Ashley did a fantastic job and my cat was calm with her during the nail trim. She was also grooming another beautiful cat and you can tell she's very sweet and good with pets. I've always had great success with employees at the cash register but if I ever need something when I'm walking around the store. I never see an employee available or they're taking their sweet time cleaning up a little mess. There was a super long line today so I wandered over to see the fish. I've never seen so many Dead Sea creatures at a PetSmart. They need to take better care of their live animals. So many shrimps and Neon Tetras were dead. Honestly very disappointed. I took my dog here because I would take him to Glendale when I lived there. Amazing service at that location. But since I moved I decided to try it out here I paid 90$ for my small Pomeranian to do a bath and brush furminator plus pampering care. When I'd get him from Glendale he would be exceptional bath brushed teeth cleaned paws trimmed butt trimmed and nails grinded. However here they did not brush his teeth even though I paid for it. You could smell. And he was not trimmed at all his hair was exactly how I left him there yes they trimmed his butt area but his paws where not touched his body was not touched and was given to me as if they quicky bathed him in like an hour and 30 when at the glendale location would take 4 to 6 hours. i called to let them know so i can get compinsated but ofcourse i got a run around saying i didnt pay for a haircut where i have a brother who worked as a groomwe thwre before and him alike the other store told mw trimming comes wuth the package. i didnt want to argue as i knew they would resolve nothing and just accepted it. they dont take their time and wont help you if they did wrong read more

****Warning, don't get your dog groomed here!****** I took my havanese to be groomed at this location and he came back looking horrible! He has what looks like club feet (fur is super long around his feet) and an uneven body cut. He also somehow looks like he has a bowl cut on his head- It would almost be comical if it wasnt so bad! This haircut for free would be too much $$ :( A week after, he's also developed what looks like an ingrown toe nail- taking him to the vet tomorrow to confirm but this has never happened to him before and I attribute it to the nail clipping they did. Booked my appointment with Cindy G. She calls the day of and told me I needed to rebook because my appointment was at 10am when it was clearly at 11am. Spoke to the assistant manager and she new this was just wrong. Cindy G apparently just wanted to leave work early. So she decided to lie to a paying customer. Smart move Cindy G. Needless to say I will never return to this location. I gave it 2 stars because the assistant manager apologized(even though she did nothing wrong) made the situation right. Pet supplies and even small pets to purchase. The store is always clean and the people working there are always pleasant to deal with.

I brought my two small dogs here for grooming. They nit pick to get every last dime they can out of you. Your dog has matts, your dog tries to nip, your dog is this your dog is that. They do that to charge you up as much as possible. I ended up paying $80 for each dog. What I found crazy is the fact that they gave them both super short summer cuts with no stylings---I was not happy with the way they turned out. The lady who groomed them came out apologizing for their hair cuts. Why complain about a few matts when you shave them damn near bald----it's not like your actually combing out the matts. I was not happy with my grooming experience there. I found a new groomer only 10 minutes away who does everything for $40 per dog. What was so amazing is that her work is 10 times better. I really like the way they looked after their grooming with her. I asked her if my dogs were nippy and she said no. This is why I know petsmart groomers are told to tell you that to get more money out of you. I have brushed and washed both of my dogs and they never nip or growl. If you enjoy paying premium pricing for sub-standard grooming then petsmart is the place for you. I personally will never go back there for grooming. I will stick to chew sticks, and dog beds. I will never go back to petsmart for grooming because they are about getting every nickle and dime out of you as possible while hacking up your dogs hair cut. read more

This place is terrible!! We took our dogs to get groomed and never again!!! We got a call stating they couldn't groom our dog ( a half chihuahua half terrier) because he was difficult to handle. But they had no problem with our husky?! Couldn't one of the staff help the other?? We pick up our dogs thinking our smaller dog didn't get groomed at all. This PetSmart always has what I am looking for. They have a good selection of cat products. The store is always clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful. The parking lot is kept clean and someone actually picks up and sweeps it. The manager of the Target next door should get some training and tips the manager of this PetSmart. read more

Normally I'd give this one at least 4 stars, but after it's taken more than 5 and a half hours today to groom my 35 pound cocker spaniel, I can only assume that the groomer was waiting for my dog to grow more hair! Omfg! Are you kidding me? How in the hell does it take this long to cut, wash, file nails etc? And so now I am expected to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a waste of my day! This has to be the worst Petsmart in Los Angeles.. I asked the cashier for help finding the dog food my dog likes, she said said if it's not on the shelf they don't have it. That's fine, I asked if she could help me find it at another store and she said she couldn't and I would have to check online. That's fine. I go to my car and check online and it says that "only a few left" I called the store(because it's raining) and the cashier recognized me and I asked if she could check for me again and that I had the item number and she said that they DON'T CHECK BY ITEM NUMBER and to give her a description of the food, I didn't finish telling her what dog food it was when she put me on hold.. 3 mins later she hangs up on me. I go back into the store and she looks like she just saw a ghost and said sorry the call got lost.. she called over an associates who I thought was going to help and he said if it's not on the shelf they don't have any, I told him it says online that they have a few left and he said they might be under some pallets and he wouldn't be able to check. I asked to speak to the manager who tried to convince me that inventory online is not accurate and that all stores that say "only a few left" don't have any in reality.. what?!?! I didn't argue with him, I went back to my car and I called another location who showed "only a few left" and the cashier was on top of her game! She was able to find the food using the item number and even put a bag aside for me.. THIS LOCATION IS TERRIBLE. The manger and associates need training or find another job that doesn't include customer service. I expect better from such a big corporation. read more

Very clean store, plenty of parking located outside, and nice staff too. 4 stars because nobody asked if we needed help after entering the store looking for dog collars and leashes. Although it was easy to find. Everything was properly organized on their shelves and the prices marked were the actual prices of their items. I called made appt for the groomers. Overall my puppy got what I paid for and was treated I would say because he came out happy his a big 12 week old puppy. I didn't bring in my shots or anything but they work around it. He came out looking shiny and cuter then ever. One thing they do have to work on is customer service and answering questions. Maybe have more staff around. read more

First of all, I don't know why my location is listed In San Francisco, I am in Los Angeles; having said that, the 120th location in Hawthorne was conveniently close, so I tried to give the benefit of the doubt with them, but things just get worse and worse. I have been disappointed in their grooming department for a while now, and finally... I give up. When I went to pick up my Maltese one time, it looked like I gave him the haircut and I have no experience whatsoever. Another time, I left him and gave specific instructions that his tail was to be trimmed, when I went to pick him up, nothing had been done do his tail, and when I complained, I was told "Oh, I didn't touch the tail". When I replied, ..."but I specificalIy requested that his tail be trimmed, I was told, "I can do it now if you want me to". Another time, he was there for about 6.5 hours, and when I went to check on him, they still weren't through with him, they said that one of their groomers had not shown up; things happen, but a call to that affect, would have been nice. He is a friendly dog, and will go to anybody, but another time, when this particular groomer took the leash, he looked at me and pulled back, she then pulled the leash to drag him, I took the leash from her and said ,"he doesn't act like this, he doesn't like you and I can see why". I went inside (this was during Covid, so we were checking them in on the outside of the store) and told them that this woman was not to touch my dog, and that I would be outside and demanded that they call me when they started on him, so I could watch. The last straw was the cancellation. My appt. was for 11:30, and they called at 11:15 to tell me that the groomer that I was assigned would not be in. They said that I could make another appointment with another groomer, for that day, when I asked what time that appointment would be, I was told "Oh wait, there are no more appointments for today, do you want to schedule for another day?" That's it, I should have cut them loose long ago. read more

I took my dog to the Groomer at this location and was absolutely unsatisfied with the end result. #1 when I came in everyone was just staring at me making me feel extremely uncomfortable to even leave my dog here especially with an awkward greeting. I specifically told them I wanted the lion cut for my dog and they gave her an uneven cut and left hair halfway down her back. Anybody who has a Pomeranian knows the mane starts by the neck. I also ask them to leave her tail long and they cut it in layers, very tacky. I had to bring her back the next day to get the hair on her back trimmed to her neck I even showed them a previous cut she had and they slaughtered her cut. She looks like a chihuahua. ‍ That's not the worst though, they cut the hair at the bottom of her feet so deep she was bleeding. I noticed because she just kept licking her foot. I feel so horrified by this experience. I will never trust a PetSmart groomer again. I thought since they work at a reputable store they would be professional but never EVER again. Unfortunately, my previous groomer, Megan, at the PetSmart midtown location moved to Vegas so I had to choose a place I thought I could trust. BEWARE!!! Also this location lacks variety. They have no apparel for dogs unlike their other locations and they don't have many variations of some of their products (doggy stairs) read more

Fairly new Petsmart located in a shopping center. It's usually empty and I loved that because there's never a long line here. Employees here are super friendly and nice, very welcoming I might add :) very clean place & there's always parking. They are very well stocked so odds of u finding something that u want & they don't have are very slim & that's a plus. Also, they have a Banfield hospital in the back for your pet needs and the grooming place is located in the front as you walk in. read more

Took my dog and unfortunately the groomer was Jennifer after four hours I decide to call and see what's taking so long and they say she's finally ready to be picked up. Not only did my dog smell bad she still had her face dirty and had dry poop stuck to her tail. If you can drive a few more miles go to the one in El Segundo all groomers their are amazing and very affectionate to the pets. read more

Service varies on visit, but THEY DO NO GROOM CATS, they don't trim their nails ...nothing bc "cats scratch" I called before going in & they said no problem... i went in the store & the grooming salon refused to trim my kittens nails bc they scratch...well no shit that's why I wanted to pay you to do it! Anyways a nice employee informed me that the actual vet inside their store would be able to trim her nails &I just last week I purchased the kitty caps and they were able to put them on at the vet section as well. The two girls at the Banfield vet were awesome! They were done in a quick minute! They almost made it look effortless!!! & even let me borrow their lint roller! (: I had a good experience at Banfield w them applying the kitty caps, but I just went twice this past week & they made me wait over 40mins only to tell me they were more busy and couldn't take her. I did ask to make appointments both times & they said they don't do appointments but to come at recommended times. I did follow up with their times, but just ended up leaving without any service. This store caters more to dogs than anything, not cat friendly at all. read more

This location gets only 1 star from me. My encounter with this manager on Sunday , 9-25-16 was a little unsettling . The sliding doors were broken. I couldn't get in and the staff just watched me at the door. ( I mistakenly brought my dog in earlier than scheduled, but opted to bring him back at the scheduled time. ) Then when conversing with this manager, she had such an arrogant attitude, always making sure she had the last word no matter what.
