This review is based on experience with applying for cat adoption. Came in because we have been thinking of adding a cat to our family. Saw two kittens and asked a young girl if we could pet/hold one of the kittens. She said, "let me ask my boss". She asked a older lady with blonde hair if we were able to hold one of the kittens and this lady literally looked at us, including my son, up and down, rolled her eyes, didn't say a word and walked away. Another lady came from around the corner and helped us. Explained how the adoption works even handed the cat to my son. She was very sweet. I give her 5 stars. We filled out a pre-application to qualify and waited for further information. The same rude older lady with blonde hair looked over the application, asked if we rent or own our home. This question was NOT in the application. Had we said that we were renters I am almost certain that she would have said we could not adopt a cat! She also asked how do we let our dogs outside. Again, this question was not on the form. Told her they have a doggy door. She said that because we have a doggy door she will not let us adopt! Ever! That they just couldn't take the chance of the cat getting out. Are you kidding me?! Are cats not allowed outside? You can tell that we were racially profiled since she saw us! She was looking for any excuse so we couldn't adopt. We're regular people wearing regular clothes... if you want to adopt make sure you wear your fanciest pieces of clothing and maybe not be Hispanic. Oh, and don't be renters and don't have doggy doors. Never thought this would actually happen to us. She ruined our morning to say the least! read more

I come here a bit to buy liners for my cats litterboxes. I buy the clevercat jumbo liners, which are for a type of literbox where the cat jumps down into the box, making cleanup so much easier. My messy furballs also do not track litter around the house, like they do with other litterboxes. The liners are special, and I have a hard time finding them at Petco and none of the other smaller pet stores carry them. Other than buying some occasional toys, I don't shop here for anything else. I don't really like the food selection, as my cats are picky. For food, I go to At Your Service Pet Supply, or occasionally Petco just for Halo food. read more

I took my 108lbs German Shepherd to petsmart to be washed and brushed out. They brushed her out but I don't believe she was washed. She doesn't look cleaner, her head was, for sure not washed and she had tears (eyes weren't cleaned). I didn't get a good feeling from them at all. I'd just do it myself if I had the supplies or a bad back, because the last place mistreated her and I couldn't get her out of the car to go in after a few times. I give up! They remind you that your pet needs all their shots but they fail to mention that they must be 48 hours prior! I made sure I made it to the vet a day prior and then was rejected by the groomer. Post your requirements and people will follow them. I will be taking my dog elsewhere from here on out! read more

The trainer Ashleigh is AWESOME!!!! She's very professional, polite and gentle with the animals. We took her Puppy Training class and we all know its for the PAWRENTS...not the dogs, LOL. I learned so much from her and made several changes that are working. She was great at answering questions and providing feedback and/or suggestions. No wonder why this store has lost so many customers. I was there over the weekend and saw so many people without masks on. I had asked the cashier why are they letting people in without a mask? This was his response "It is discriminating" ... ummm..it's a mandated state law .. how come your superior's are not educating their sales associates how important it is to wear masks, it's only for your own benefit as well as others.. do no be ignorant to the fact that people are dying out there, and until they can come up with a cure, please protective yourselves. This store has at least one wild gray rat running around on the floor, and it is not an escaped rat. Another customer and I both saw it, and a nearby employee was oblivious to it. The local health department should know about this. read more

I've been coming here for 3 years, about every 4-6 weeks, to have both my dogs for a bath and brush. I am appalled by this evenings events. First, when I called earlier this week for appointments not one time was I told that on the weekends (their weekends are Friday-Sunday. Apparently, not a calendar weekend so beware) they up the prices. I've always taken them Monday's and Tuesday's so I would know nothing of this ever unless told upfront. I didn't find this out until I picked up my dogs. Both my dogs have high anxiety when it comes to travel so it's an ordeal. So when I paid we just left. BIG MISTAKE!!! When I got home to inspect my dogs the hair on their feet had not been clipped, which is included in the service I requested. When I called, the woman in the grooming tried to lie to me and tell me that it was an extra cost. I countered and told her she was lying and that it states on their website that it's included with no charge. So while she told me to hold on for a manager she didn't mute the phone before saying ever so rudely OMG SHES COMPLAINING!! Yeah I'm complaining. First you lie and then you want to get huffy?! While I appreciate the manager Char telling me that I can come anytime to have that done (which is why they're actually getting two stars from me) I don't even want to go back because I feel like their grooming department is unprofessional. The gentleman that did bathed my dogs was nice enough but I think perhaps a little inexperienced. I'm very disappointed. This is actually the second time in 6 mths I've had to go back and have their feet clipped. read more

This updated review is for the grooming salon. I've been taking my dog to the groomers here since he was a small puppy. I admit I had to go through at least 3 or 4 groomers before I found the one I really liked and I have requested her every single time I've called to make an appt. Her name is Sharon and she's been awesome with my dog. My little guy can be a handful at times as he doesn't like his nails to be clipped or his paws touched but somehow, Sharon manages to get the job done. She gives him the extra attention by giving him belly rubs when I drop him off. I don't know what I would do if Sharon ever decides to leave Petsmart because finding the right groomer is not easy. read more

Not my favorite Petsmart location both geographically speaking and in terms of customer service. I came here the other night out of necessity as I realized I had forgotten cat litter earlier in the day and needed it before closing time. The cashier (an older blonde lady) was very nice. I remember her from a previous experience where I had a negative encounter (Why I have not returned) with another employee and she was a saving grace. That night's experience was OK but I will do better with my time management in the future so I never have to end up there again. read more

The people here are always very helpful. I have found the fish customer service folks are very helpful with any questions I have about maintaining our fish tank and keeping it good to go. Prices seem fair and tanks, and animal enclosures seem clean and well managed for the most part. read more

My dog has been to this location over 8 times and has never been denied service. But today when we came in for her appointment Kimberly said she prolly wouldn't be able to service her because she bites people. So I quickly cut her off and said my dog never bit nobody here, then she switched it to "tried to bite" keep in mind I have an miniature American Eskimo that has never been violent for 2 years. She promised she would still give her a bath and just not be able to cut her hair and trim her nails and do her teeth. We agreed to just do that. I live 10 mins away, by the time I walk in door at home and sit down here come Kimberly saying she can't do nothing with my dog because she won't let her. Now keep in mind no Bath like we agreed or nothing. A dog can't even bite you giving them a bath LOL. By the looks of how out of shape Kimberly is I know for a fact that she didn't even try. Okay I want to preface this with every other time I have gone in there I have had decent service. One lame worker will not prevent me from going to PetSmart in the future. However, this is what happened the last time I went in to buy dog food. I have a Chihuahua and a French Bulldog. As many dogs do, they love to go on car rides, walks and anything else that gets them out of the house. Since PetSmart is pet friendly, I took my boys with. I have them on a leash with a coupler. I went straight back to the dog food. Two employees were having a conversation and saw me walking over with my dogs. They looked right at me, walked away from me, continued having their conversation and avoided helping me. Neither asked if I needed help or acknowledged me. I was told I needed to buy a specific type of dog food...I couldn't find it on the shelf so I walked to the end of the aisle. I asked if they were busy and could they help me. One of the workers walked the other direction and the second worker said "I guess". Thanks for taking time out of your busy day at work as a CUSTOMER SERVICE representative to help me! LOL! He is there to help people shop for what they need! Come on! So he was nice enough to carry a 50 pound bag of dog food to the front where he then threw it up on the register and walked away. The woman at the register offered to have the man help me out to my car with the food. Since simply carrying the food to the register had been such a hassle for him in the first place, I opted to carry the bag of food out by myself. In the future, I would like to be able to bring my dogs. However, if there is going to be such poor customer service I guess I'll have to leave them at home. read more

They weren't consistent when leaving the trainer! It's all what you do at home. I'm only giving one star because there is nothing lower. Monday night we bought a 2.5 gallon tank and a 5.5 fish tank with full set up. When we got home and filled the 5.5 tank water went everywhere. We returned the broken tank around 8:30pm. Tuesday afternoon i noticed that they credited us the smaller tank for 14.99 instead of $39.99 for the 5.5 tank. After a busy few days i returned Thursday to get the correct credit and buy a different tank. When i presented the receipt to Jessica (Manager) she basically told me i was lying and refused to credit me. So i drive home grabbed the box to the tank i returned and then the smaller tank that i still had. I brought them both back to her. She still refused to acknowledge the mistake.. she treated me like a liar. I will have to say she was rude, had absolutely no personality. After being humiliated and treated like a low life thief she finally gave me my credit. Absolutely will never shop at PetSmart ever again!!! read more

She is a knowledgeable trainer with a lot of patience and experience! She was able to give guidance for every issue any of the dogs were having! I walked in to get my cats groomed. The groomers all looked and acted like they were right out of a trailer park. Screwing around, attitude problems, and no one wanted to help me. The manger comes over to the counter and I tell her I want the cats groomed. I didn't have an appointment. She calls one of the groomers over and asks if she has time to groom my cats. The groomer rolls her eyes and walks away "i'm busy". I couldn't believe it. I walked right out. Went across the street to Petco and will never go back to this dump. How can people act this way when you want to give them your money!?!? read more

We just had our Golden Retriever groomed there, and for $80, we got an uneven hack job, no trimming around / under the ears at all, straight cut nails with no rounding off at all, and red rash / scratches under the stomach area where it was shaved close. Went into Petsmart this last weekend with my daughter who was interested in getting two frogs. We didn't know much about what was needed and how to care for them. I asked a gentleman to get the frog aquarium down from up top, he did, and I explained we were going to be getting two frogs. He left...didn't come back. Everything down-spiraled from there. People who didn't know anything and were generally rude. If it wasn't for it being her birthday and her excitment I would have never spent $200 here. At least I know better now. read more

I've been in several times, with two puppies, and only once had anyone greeted me or ask if they could help. People stop me left and right to pet the dogs or ask there name, just never a staff member. A little concerning that only once out of probably 20 times has a employee asked my pets name or pet them. I assume working at a pet store you enjoy pets or can at least pretend to. Anyways my last experience the clerk was above and beyond and asked questions an was generally helpful and excited to see dogs. I hope to continue to see employees like her. read more

I recently moved to this side of town. I had heard great things about Blue dog food. My mastiff mix is currently on a Science Diet. An employee named Dave saw me looking at Blue, since I was thinking of switching my dog's food. He gave me the history of Blue and details about the food which confirmed what I had heard. He even got me a cart to put the bags of food in, since I had to get a small bag of hers to transition. Multiple employees also helped. Very friendly place. This will be my new store. Everyone is very friendly and helpful in petsmart. Ashleigh is the best pet trainer I have ever experienced. In just two short 6 week periods my boxer was the most well behaved dog ever. She teaches everything from potty training to sitting all the way to loud noise training which really helped for my scaredy-cat boxer. Our pet trainer, Ashleigh, was wonderful! Our newly adopted dog, Ava, benefited so much from the puppy/beginner training course and socialization that the class environment offers. Ashleigh helped us know what to do to help our Ava succeed. Ashleigh is knowledgeable about how to deal with many behavioral issues, and is kind and patient with the dogs. The training mainly focuses on positive reinforcement, (treats, praise, etc..) so the dogs are happy to be there. Ava was a little nervous on her first day of class, but she very quickly grew to love going to Petsmart for class! read more

We like going here to get out pet supplies. The people are friendly and we can usually find a deal or two. (last month I got 2 16lb bags of cat food for $15... pricing error?) They also have a cat adoption center that is open on the weekends. The ladies are pretty nice and they have a lot of great cats to choose from.
