Oliver at home after grooming session!

3/18/25 Third time having my dogs groomed at PetSmart Reno Virginia St. Laura.... who also did my other dog last week did my mini poodle Oliver today. He looks great! I couldn't be happier! Very much recommend!

Every one who has assisted me with products has been so helpful and kind. I bring my six month old little Shihtzu, Charlie there to shop for his toys, treats and dog food. He enjoys the whole experience with meeting other dogs and shopping. We are now established customers. I recommend Petsmart.

First- PetSmart website does not allow you to schedule appointments for nail trimming, it states that it is strictly a walk-in service, any time the grooming salon is open. I walked in and the employee told me that nobody had time to do it that day or the following day. I asked if I could please just schedule an Appointment for this because it is difficult for me to get my 100 lb anxious lab in and out of pet stores. She rudely stated that she could "squeeze me in" 4 days later. 2nd- The employees in the office have terrible customer service and are not fit to work somewhere with animals. I walked in for my appointment with my energetic hyper lab, there was an employee walking towards us, holding another dog on a leash. My dog gets really excited when he sees other dogs, he started wagging his tail and pulling on his leash towards the dog. The employee stopped, and with a disgusted and annoyed look on her face said "can you get your dog away please?" Mind you, there was a gate separating our dogs, so there really was no reason for her to respond in this manner, and for someone who works at a DOG grooming salon, she should be a little nicer to our fur babies. My dog is my world and I also get anxious bringing him to grooming salons and when employees are mean to my dog it makes me never want to bring him anywhere. As I was waiting to be checked in I overheard 2 employees talking about a dog that was in the back barking. 1 of the employees told the other one "OH MY GOD that dog barks SO MUCH! That's why I stuck him in the back!!" And the other employee started laughing. If you don't like dogs barking maybe you shouldn't work at a dog grooming salon. Dogs get anxious and scared being at places like this it is normal for them to bark. I don't feel comfortable or safe bringing my dog back here ever again. I do not recommend bringing your fur babies here if you care about your animal at all. OH and my dogs nails are all different lengths, they did not trim his dew claws AT ALL, I paid extra for them to buff his nails and it is very obvious they did not do so.

We go to the groomers at PetSmart once a month for our Neyfypoo whether it be for a haircut or bath and brush. They do a great job with her and she looks great after a fresh cut. She likes the staff and they always say she does very well. She's usually cautious with new people but she warmed up to them quickly.

    Picture with Santa.

Came in to take our picture with Santa and the staff was extremely helpful.. it wasn't easy take all 4 fur babies at the same time but the staff help holding them while one took the photos for us.. Thank you so much we will see you all soon.

Went to PetSmart tonight after work. We have religiously purchased their food here the last two years. Today I get home and dump their food in their food bin, only to see there were maggots, moths, and their webs all over. I was pretty disgusted. But my dogs needed to eat, and had no food left, so I went back (carrying the bag up 3 floors, now having to take their whole food bin down 3 floors). I drive 15min back to the store, I show them what happened and they told me I can go grab a new bag. So I walked to the back of the store where they keep it and walked back to the front where they did an even exchange. The checker apologized which was nice, but after having to go this far out of my way for them selling an expired product I would think there would be some form of refund, or reimbursement. I will be choosing another store to get their food from.

Our usual awesome groomer (Rose) was not available for a day we needed a basic bath and brush for our super furball Aussie, so we tried a new staffer, Laura.

As a large pit mix I'd rescued, these issues were super demoralizing and we were scared Bo would someday hurt someone, despite our constant vigilance. Plus his world had gotten super small because I couldn't trust taking him to the places we used to hang in public. Anyway, after the meet and greet we went with a moderate board and train program. And then it didn't start as smoothly as we all hoped. Not because of their team, Bo was just more aggressive and reactive than he'd displayed during the meet and greet. Was it disappointing - absolutely, but most important was Stand Proud were having the difficult conversation with us about what Bo needed. We all came up with a plan that set Bo up for success, and they made sure it was something we were comfortable with. Since then, it's been a journey, but the results are remarkable and they've been so invested in his success. He's got a strong grasp on place and sit until released, and even off-leash skills and recall. He's also much more comfortable regulating himself and waiting for guidance when he's unsure. We're so much more confident and proud of the goofball. Thanks Stand proud team!

At home, she was loving, joyful, and goofy, but also scared of things like the TV and pretty much anything new. We immediately started training her at reputable places for behavioral training and enrolled in a couple classes (and some private sessions) for reactiveness, obedience, and even tricks to help her build confidence and to give her some structure. While they helped, she was still easily triggered and couldn't calm down quickly. Dealing with this over the months has been at times frustrating, tiring, and even embarrassing. Then we found Sarah and Dogz Training. She was offering training that wouldn't last just for a few classes and then you're on your own. She'll be working with us for six months, so she can really help us learn (because we're getting trained too) how to help Harper not become overwhelmed in real-life situations. We started in our house, our back and front yards, and have progressed to our neighborhood. And we can already see Harper's progress in all of those places. We've had a lot of conflicting advice before, but what Sarah has brought is actual knowledge of dog behavior, both academic (she has a masters in Education and is a CPDT-KA) and practical (many years of actual hands-on experience working with dogs of all kinds). Her advice really works, and we've found it easy to follow, achievable, and at all times humane (unlike some places that insist positive reinforcement doesn't work). She's also patient, and a decent and caring human being who always returns our texts (even the misclicks!). There's still plenty of training to go, but we're so grateful (and relieved) to have found such knowledgeable and effective training with Sarah. Don't hesitate to try Dogz Training....you'll wish you'd started sooner!

We went onto do 3 levels of classes with him. Classes were hands down the best investment we made for him, and he went on to live a wonderful fear-free life. I attribute his high quality of life to his basic training classes and the time we put in when he was a puppy. He learned from a very young age how to settle and be calm in lots of different situations. He learned to trust our directions which kept him safe. Puppy social is in my opinion one of the best classes to put a young puppy in. They get to meet other dogs and people in a safe environment, and the puppies teach each other soft bite and learn how to be social. We recently brought a new puppy into our lives. I love the structure of Pjs classes where your puppy is with the same dogs for the 6-week duration. The happy little puppies can all see each other during the class at Pjs, no barriers (unless required to reduce stress of the pet). I like the scaffolding approach that PJs classes offer. You build the dogs' confidence and skills up in a logical way for them to learn. Plus, the puppies are all watching each other learn the same things. It's adorable. Our new puppy has done several levels of classes at Pjs' beautiful new facility in Sparks and HE LOVES IT. He just completed his AKC Canine Good Citizen, we can now consider therapy work down the road with him. He is so excited to get in the door for any play group I take him to and to his classes. We absolutely loved Rally O with Susie, she is amazing. We have referred Susie to friends with some rescues for consultations and they have been super happy. We will complete all the classes PJ dog training offers, because our dog just loves to learn, he really likes to use his brain. He exudes happiness when we get to class. Thank you, PJ and Susie, for helping us raise a happy confident dog yet again and offering such great classes. Highly recommend Pjs, they have so much experience and are CCPTD certified. They also give you time at the beginning of any class for a quick discussion on any "challenge areas". You learn so much to help you understand your dog's behavior. All classes use positive reinforcement. You learn to build a trusting relationship with your furry family members from a place of respect and love. The facility is always so clean, and they take excellent care in making sure your puppies are safe and not exposed to any bugs. We have never had any problems. 10 stars from us!!

Our precious fourteen year old female was called beautiful and had pics taken of passerby's. When we picked her up after her being there for three hours or more ( every visit the same amount of time ) we just wanted to get them home. With her we noticed immediately her " beautiful fan tail " was no more. Her hind leg had been shaved to the bone. The shaver got away from one of their employees and that employee was not honest enough to report it. And if it was reported to his or her employer when we picked up our precious dog the incident was ignored and she was handed over to us like nothing ever happened. Now, a few months later she still has the large bald spot on the back of her hind leg where no hair has grown.. Her tail is completely butchered it hasn't grown out to its " beautiful fan wave" for a Collie after all this time. " I cant imagine what she was put through" being there! Our two year old male dog the most loving ever had his face completely missed his beard went over his lip. I trimmed it myself. I'm grateful our male dog hadn't gone through the trauma our precious female had gone through. I personally feel that someone there ( management) should be taking responsibility by checking while dogs are being groomed by ( newbies ) or any employee in any manner. I feel my female dog was left with a newbie and was not given the attention to this employee that he or she needed with managing. My daughter and I were under the impression that the woman that met us outside( same woman that groomed twice before ) asked how we'd like their grooming taken care of would be the one attending to both our dogs we trusted her grooming since she had done both our dogs twice before and we were happy with their outcome We had made recommendations to friends about Animal Oasis. We put our trust in the woman who greeted us who seemed interested in our concerns towards their grooming. This business failed my dogs and us. We should have looked at the grooming before paying the $100.00 per dog and not given the tips. I've never had to write up a complaint I waited hoping my female dog would grow her beautiful hair back to its original shape " Not" ! The Animal Oasis deserves this complaint. If you go to Animal Oasis after my complaint ask questions like who will be attending fully to my animal and look carefully after the work has been completed to your satisfaction before tipping. Get names, your dog is part of your loving family and should be treated like so.
