Confession: my puppy owns more than half of the entire Martha Stewart collection by now... I have been taking my now 5 month old puppy here for training classes for the past month. The trainer we got, Carol, is awesome! She has taught me so much as this is my first go as a dog owner. My friends are always so impressed with what my puppy can do so far. I will probably sign her up for the intermediate classes since I feel that the beginning course was extremely valuable. Also, if you adopt via a rescue that collaborates with Petsmart they give you a bag of coupons that includes 20% off a training course. The products in this store are always well stocked. I almost always have a coupon for what I need (I have yet to pay full price for dog food). I think I enjoy coming in to Petsmart as much as the pup does! read more

I really love this Petsmart. I'm all about shopping local and patronizing small business, but this place is so close to my house and they have everything I need to take care of the zoo that is my home. In my home, I have two dogs and two cats. They require a lot of food, litter, treats, and especially toys. Like I've said in a past review, I like to purchase as many natural items for my home as I can. Petsmart has a great selection of natural dog and cat food. They also have a lot of natural treats available. Their PetPerks program is great and I've saved a lot of money on miscellaneous items for my fur babies by using my rewards card. I LOVE that Petsmart has a charity to which you can donate when you swipe your debit or credit card, and they often times host adoption drives for local shelters. I am a huge stray animal advocate, and I love shopping there knowing that they are making an effort to make a difference in the lives of homeless animals. read more

Sure, they have a ton of floorspace with a ton of items (including "giant" sized bags of the cat treats that our clowder love) BUT, the prices here suck. You'd expect that a place dedicated to pet food and supplies would be significantly cheaper than Target or Schnuck's. But it isn't. Maybe at best $0.02 less, but otherwise, prices were virtually the same (or in the case of litter, I think it was actually a little more). If you want/need to feed you pet organic/specialty food, then I can see why you go here. But if you're feeding them "normal" food, just save yourself a trip (and maybe a dollar) and skip PetSmart. read more

I always come here to buy my dog food, treats and get my dogs nails trimmed. The people here are always fast friendly and always give my dogs plenty of treat which they love. I have a Boxer and Pit Bull and everyone is so friendly and unbothered with the fact that I have a Pit Bull,let's face it some people are. read more

I will never take my dog to be groomed here again. Not only did it take four hours but after $62 she looks horrible. There is a nick taken out of the hair in her tail, it's no where near as short as I asked, uneven under her face and bits of hair still sticking out from her paws. They asked me to bring her back in to fix it next week but after reading the other reviews here, I think I'll just ask for a refund. Btw I usually take my dog to Dogtown Groomer (couldn't get her in for weeks and opted to take her to Petsmart before I traveled) and I will not stray again. Their cuts are soooo much better and a 1/3 less expensive. read more

I've visited this Pet Smart a couple times to look for some new treats or pee pads for my kitties' Breeze litter system (which I wholeheartedly recommend), and every time I come I'm amazed at how high the prices are. The sales and the clearance rack aren't much to look at either. They do have a huge selection but only carry one grain-free brand, one that I would never feed my cats. The staff are pretty hard to find when you need them, too. I'll be shopping elsewhere for my pet supplies. read more

We bought "our first fish" and couldn't get much help or information about what we might need. We were willing to pay more for a nice filter, a hearty fish, etc, because it was my daughter's birthday and this was her special present. We didn't receive any info or help, they missed the fact that we would need a dechlorinator for example, sending us racing back to the store. So... end of story, first fish died 4 days later. Not blaming you, Petsmart, but you sure didn't help either. From now on we're sticking with independent stores, not big chains. read more

I have had good experiences with Banfield Pet Hospital and with the store associates, who have all been very friendly, however, I took my 5 month old Beagle mix puppy to get groomed (bathed and nails clipped) at this location. I booked online ahead of time. The service was supposed to be for one hour. It took two hours and twenty-five minutes. They didn't apologize for the wait at all. When I got little Hank back, I noticed that they didn't even take care of his tear stains. He also was irritated because of some new debris in his left eye. And his nails were cut but still felt sharp like they needed more filing. I will not be taking Hank back to them for grooming. read more

I don't know his name or anything but he's about 5'8" and ginger with a beard. He's been rude to me twice in the store and given me advice about my dog that didn't make sense. I have been going to this Petsmart since for as long as I've had my dog (he's going to be 11 this year). In the last year I have had several bad experiences with them I will no longer go to get anything I need. I will pay more somewhere else. Last year I brought him into the groomer for a nail trim. Not only did they cut him while doing the trim, but as I was standing there, they were yelling at him to calm down and just not treating him well. I stopped taking him there for grooming right then and there. Today I went in to get his food because he is completely out. He's on a special urinary diet for stones. Because my prescription card is for a different urinary diet than he on now, they would not sell it to me and said I had to get the one on the card or no food. So since the old food did nothing for him and it takes a little while for his small stomach to adjust, he is SOL when it comes to eating until I can get food from somewhere else. I have never been more angry in my life! AVOID this store if at all possible! They do not help you when there's a problem and clearly DO NOT care about the pets at all! read more

They abuse people's animals when grooming and do a horrible job, sometimes very unfriendly to pets, they never take their dogs outside and leave them in cages and if puppy's don't get adopted they will leave a full sized in a puppy sized cage, this basically goes with all pet stores chains, they need to she shut down now! read more

Went in for grooming my lab today and they did an excellent job, as usual. But then went to pay and couldn't believe it. I had to wait half way into the store for my turn and then I get up there and to my surprise, the cashier did not have a mask on. He had a million excuses why not. Others employees had masks on. I took my puppy here for her first grooming last month and was very happy. When I called to book the appointment I had a lot of questions and the staff was extremely helpful. Even when I picked her up, the ladies in the grooming department gave me helpful suggestions for training her and referred me in the right direction. This is a review for pet grooming service. I went out of town and had to have my mom babysit my 3 years old westie, and she decided to shave his head bald because the hair was covering his eyes! I was mortified. He looked balder than a bald eagle (only the top half of his head was shaved and nothing else).... no westie should ever have that type of haircut. I can't ever imagine what would happen if I let her babysit my future kid. So I went online and booked an appointment with Katarina. She is amazing and wonderful in every way! Very friendly and patient. One of the best pet groomers there, I would highly recommend her because not only did she do a great job of trimming... what's left of my dog's facial hair but she also made him look super cute and clean. I had my dog groomed there and it was a awful! My pug was brought out to me wet and hair falling out! I asked for him to be dryed the lady took him back and the dryer was so loud that the employees wear ear protection! So what damage are you doing to the animals if it is bad enough to damage human hearing I'm sure the same applies to a animal! I could hear my dog screaming from being scared! I had him brought back to me immediately! The store managers reply was dogs always scream... No way the only other time I have heard my dog make that noise was when he was scared from a large dog that nearly attacked him at the dog park. In short these people don't care about animals at all! I went in to find certain items for my dog and the the staff were rude and unwilling to help. First there was no one to ask for help around the store. I went to the front to ask the cashier and she gave me a look like I was inconveniencing her. She then sighed and rolled her eyes and vaguely directed me to where I might find some things. Far be it to say those things I was directed to were not where she said they would be. I found a worker who looked lost in the store and he walked me to the things I needed and walked away the minute he pointed at the items and never said a word. I took my dog there for a basic grooming: shampoo, hair trim, blow dry, and nail clip. I booked online and selected Kanell (?) as the groomer. When we arrived, I went over what I wanted done to my pooch and the groomer checked the dog for hidden mats and she made the dog comfortable with her. We agreed on the length of hair (1") for my dogs body. I thought all was well and then I returned to retrieve her 3-1/2 hours later... I mistakenly had $12 in tip visible in my hand when I arrived! When the groomer brought my dog out I started laughing because the dog's haircut was so bad! I wasn't even certain this was MY dog until she reacted to her name! The groomer seemed very proud of herself and I gave her the tip anyway because clearly she's needing more training. Luckily, fur will grow out but for the meantime my dog will make me and my family smile because she looks so hilariously bad! read more

I had a similar experience to another review with this Petsmart's grooming services. We took our dog in to be groomed and were told that nail clipping was included in the price, but they really didn't recommended just the clipping, as the nails were left very sharp. They recommended they be sanded, which was an $11 upcharge and we agreed. When I picked up our dog they gave me a report card and I paid for the services. When I was in my car at the stop light to leave the parking lot I glanced at the report card. One remark said, "Your dog loved being groomed." However, another remark said, "Your dog was too wild for us to trim his nails." I had the receipt right there and called the store and asked why they didn't mention that our dog's nails hadn't been trimmed and why they had charged me for this service. Their answer was, "Gosh, I guess we forgot." When I asked them to credit my account for their mistake, they said I had to come back to the store with my credit card, which I did. Instead of being apologetic and trying to make amends for their error the grooming person was incredibly rude. As with other reviewers, we won't be using Petsmart's grooming services. read more

This location staffs the most attentive employees. From the nutritional to the behavioral needs of my dogs, the Brentwood store has cared for my dogs evey time I've come in with them for the past 10 years. Everyone is amazing, especially the dog trainers. But one employee in particular, steve, with reddish hair, has more insight to human/dog relationships than anyone I've listened to. He has said things that I would never have thought of, and has been accurate every time. Only a lazy or stubborn minded person would not be okay with the passion he has for what he does. He is very approachable and has perfect demeanor towards every dog he encounters. His recommendations on food choice, and toys is right on spot with what my dogs needs are. read more

I was a little confused about what grooming services were included in what package and ended up spending more than expected. I used the online application to book my dog's appointment. I didn't realize this until check out but it wasn't a big deal. Sara in grooming is a sweetheart, my dog was vey nervous, and I don't trust many people with him. She was very considerate, called and gave me status updates, etc. his anxiety wasn't nearly as high as expected when I picked him up. She did great and I plan to book future appointments with her. This Petsmart is pretty alright. It's usually pretty clean and relatively well-stocked. I don't have pets groomed there but I once called for pricing on having my cat boarded and the rates were a bit high but mostly comparable to other boarding options. My main complaint is this: every single time I visit this store, there is a lengthy check-out line because they only have one cashier working. I'm sure there are times that they have two or more cash registers going at once but I've never witnessed it and I've been at least 6 times this year at different time of day. read more

I do not shop at this store on a regular basis; however, today, I was there to buy some toys for Marigold since she is rambunctious and runs around a lot. I used to go to this store more frequently than I do now, and it's still like a superstore for pet owners; you can get just about anything that you might need for you dog or cat, but it's not just dogs and cats. You can buy supplies and food for hamsters, gerbils and fish. I'll be back, but not really soon because I don't need a lot of pet stuff at the moment for the cat. read more

I took my dog for grooming yesterday. I have been taking my dog there for over 2 1/2 years and have always been happy. Yesterday Kanell was the groomer. It was the worst job I have ever seen. I don't even know how she missed so many spots on him. I ordered the "Top dog Plus" which includes everything including ears, nail file, and brushing teeth. I made the mistake of having my husband pick him up (he never complains about anything ever), when they came home I was in shock about how he looked. This morning I checked his ears and there was still visible crust in his right ear. I have no idea if they even completed the nail file or the tooth brushing, etc., because his day care trims his nails every now and then. I am now waiting for a call back from the manager to file a formal complaint. Unless they do something about this and this groomer, I will not be going back there again. read more

Took my dogs to get their nails done. As the "groomer" took my 4 month old Great Dane back and started she got a little wiggly. Instead of him stopping and asking for help he continued. At that point my dog fell from the table and was hanging by her neck. Did he pick her up? NO!!!!! He was more concerned about the grinder that fell to the floor. I had to rush in and lift my dog up to avoid her from being strangled. I unhooked her and went to walk out. He never even apologized. The ladies working came over and decided to do her nails. They did a great job but that boy should not be working with animals. He was lazy from the moment we walked in until after we left. He was even being lazy when he was told to brush another dog. I will not take my dogs back to the Brentwood location in fear he would be there. It was a young African American boy. Beware if he is the one you are dealing with. read more

Please don't bring your animals here! I've been here before and had a decent experience, but my last experience was not so good. The lady who cut my dog's hair was not friendly and not very good with my dog. I have a medium sized dog with long hair that gets matted easily, I told her to cut basically all her hair off and leave just enough to cover her skin and she did not honor my request. When I got her back she only trimmed my dogs face hair right above the eyes and her body hair was totally uneven and mostly the same length I left her there with. Not to mention the lady asked if I wanted her to call me when my dog was ready to be picked up, BUT NEVER DID! 4 hours later I started to get worried and called up there to find out she was ready to be picked up. When I picked my dog up, I didn't get to talk with the lady who groomed her to see what happened during the grooming or to see if I wanted anything fixed. I also noticed red scratches on my dog's stomach. I definitely won't be returning, I paid $70 for my dog to get professionally groomed, but ended up with something I could have done myself at home. Horrible experience! I left PetSmart today without leaving my dog because of the horrendous way one of the groomers was treating the dog she was grooming. The dog was yelling while she was grinding it's nails and in obvious distress. One of the groomers told her she might want to take it to the "back". She continued to yank its legs around as it continued to yelp. At one point she had it in a headlock and it continued to yelp as she manhandled it. It backed away from her off the table and fell at which point she yanked it up by the collar. I could no longer stomach the abusive treatment and told them I would not leave my dog with them and to cancel my appt. read more

took my dog here to get a bath and nail trim. she doesnt do great with nail trims anywhere she goes but she always gets through it without needing a muzzle. they made my boyfriend come back to the store and put a muzzle on her, then after trimming her nails we noticed they had cut her quick but they "didn't notice" until we were about to leave. when we get her home we realized she had a scratch and a welt on her belly that i'm not sure how she would have got? basically: pick somewhere else to take your dog. read more
