Would like to thank Rachel the puppy trainer..We have a 6 month old Shih tzu name Teddy...he was very fearful of other dogs and people..With her help and guidance, he has been able to overcome come his fear..We highly recommend Rachel..Teddy will come to visit soon..Thank you Rachel and Petsmart!!!

BEWARE.. This a place to have your dog PROFESSIONALLY groomed. It is basically a hack shop at best, if you don't care about what your dog looks like after they have been groomed, then I suppose this is the place. Especially if you have a higher maintenence breed such as a Maltipoo. Out dog came in nice, clean and fluffy. Afterwords, he was completely shaved and hacked with barespots. I believe it is untrained groomers who are either lazy or just taught to turn and burn grooming all day.

@Antonielle C. - I literally opened Yelp to leave a glowing review about Alaina* and her remarkable grooming job on my long-haired German Shepherd, when I stumbled upon this ludicrous comment. I happened to be in the store during the incident and heard the entire exchange firsthand. It's actually comical how far from reality this depiction is. The groomer simply mentioned, 'I believe there may have been a miscommunication.' I mean, if you really want to stick it to corporate Petsmart with false accusations of raci$m, (just for a free dog bath) you might consider accusing an employee that isn't uncannily Latina. I'm just saying ‍... This groomer, Alaina (not Elena), is worth every penny and then some. My German will not go to anyone else and has never left the salon giving less than pristine, stunning, perfection, or DIVINE QUEEN vibes. This delusional review is a living and breathing testament to the phrase, "don't believe everything you see on the internet." Get your dog groomed here folks, you won't regret it!

    Cat up for adoption

I haven't done a review for anywhere 11 months. Now what pray tell caused me to emerge from my review isolation/hibernation? The customer service at this Petsmart just stood out to me. Everyone was friendly and helpful and had the most positive attitudes. I'm a San Diego original that has transplanted to Texas. Even though they have their "Southern Hospitality" over yonder, this Petsmart dominated in that aspect. If you want pet supplies to keep your pets in stylish Halloween garb or to get waste bags so they can take a spooky dookie, I recommend this fine establishment. P.S. The cats that were up for adoption were 11/10 cute.

Cashier tore my coupon but said I got the free pouch. But I saved because I bought 15 pouches x 12 cents = $1.80. She threw away my coupon.

I bought a bag of Hill's Science Diet cat food and it had a coupon stuck on it for a free pouch of cat food. They also had a deal of save 12 cents per pouch if you buy 12 or more so i got 15 pouches. When I checked out, I told the cashier about the free pouch and she took the coupon off the bag and ripped it so she was unable to scan the free coupon! She scanned everything and told me she couldn't scan the coupon where I get one free pouch but assured me I got all the savings. On the screen I told her the savings was just for the saving 12 cents per pouch not for the free one. I wanted the coupon back but she threw it away and assured me the savings took account the free pouch. I am looking at my receipt again at home and no where does it show I got one for free. 15 pouches x 12 cents is $1.80. I saved from buying over 12 pouches but not from the coupon I wanted to redeem . The receipt doesn't reflect the free pouch, and I felt the cashier was dishonest. If she did it correctly, the receipt would show 14 pouches, not 15. Maybe I would have only saved another $1.75 but it's the principle. I've had better luck at another store so I will not return to this one.

Raw patch where they over shaved!

Very disappointed in our recent visit to groomers at this location. My poor dog was traumatized from the horrible experience. The groomer did a very poor job in trimming his face. There were uneven pieces all over. His ears weren't even brushed out! But, the worst was a raw piece of skin I discovered on his chest when I got home. They didn't even tell me about it! Never going back there again. They are very unprofessional and have no idea what they are doing!

**Life-Changing. Truly.**…read more I don't write reviews lightly and I especially don't write emotional ones--but Bark Busters of San Diego quite literally gave me my life back. For years, I lived in silence and stress. I couldn't leave my home without my dogs barking, howling, scratching at their crates, and spiraling into panic. The mouth watering alone was enough to break me. So instead, I stayed home. I adjusted my life around their anxiety. I suffered quietly because I loved them and didn't know what else to do. Until one day I broke down completely. I realized this wasn't living not for me, and not for them. We deserved calm. We deserved peace. We deserved to live our "best" lives and this wasn't it. Some people complain in reviews that dog training "doesn't work." Let me be very clear: anxiety whether in humans or dogs is not something you fix by checking a box. A true behavioral therapist understands one thing above all else, "awareness". Anxiety comes from surroundings and perceived safety. The work is learning how to respond and create calm and that takes consistency. I spent three straight weeks training four hours a day, every single day. I cried. I doubted myself. I wanted to quit. But I followed the Bark Busters program exactly as taught--daily simulations, real-world scenarios, repetition, and patience. And then something incredible happened. My dogs slept. They relaxed. They trusted. Today, I can leave my home and my dogs are calm, quiet, and peacefully sleeping, knowing I'm coming back. Visitors come and go with ease. My 9- and 6-year-old Maltipoos are relaxed, confident, and happy. And so am I. Here's the truth people don't want to hear, there is no magic pill. There is no shortcut. The training never "ends" because leadership and love are lifelong commitments. And honestly? That's the gift. Once it becomes part of your daily life, it feels natural. I walk more. The cuddles are calmer. I'm no longer being climbed on out of anxiety I'm being loved in peace. And about the cost? Think about it. You've already spent more on multiple trainers, treats, wasted time, emotional exhaustion, and a very unhappy household. Bark Busters' training is guaranteed for life. If you move. If life changes. If new challenges come you're supported. That matters more than people realize. Justin and his team are beyond words. Compassionate. Honest. Direct. They don't just train dogs, they train families. Value your pet's life. Value the short, precious time we get with them. Happiness--for everyone in the home is worth the work.

As first-time dog owners, the early support really did help us. Having someone we could call during those overwhelming first months was a relief. Over time, though, I realized I was hoping the training would shift toward more positive reinforcement. The constant, harsher corrections worked at first but eventually didn't seem effective anymore and started affecting my relationship with Mimi. I noticed this during a family trip where Mimi, who is usually fearful of strangers, bonded more easily with my husband and his family. She gravitated toward them when scared, and I realized it might be because they weren't following the correction-heavy approach, while I was. I also asked for help with Mimi's fear and reactivity toward other dogs, but was told they didn't have dogs available for training and that I would need to bring a calm, socialized dog myself. As a non-trainer, that was very hard, but we tried by traveling many hours to introduce her to my husband's family dog. The experience ended up being chaotic since the family didn't fully understand what the process required, and new people and dogs kept appearing even though Mimi wasn't ready. Her reactivity came back in that environment, which made me feel like the training had only put a bandaid on deeper fear issues. Maybe I should have clarified expectations better from the start, but with a high-need dog and being new to all of this, I didn't know what to expect. Since then, we've switched to a positive reinforcement trainer who organizes structured group activities. Mimi is still scared of bigger dogs and can still be reactive, but she's improving slowly and has been able to meet a few smaller dogs. She's also still fearful of people, but she nips a lot less now, so progress is happening. Overall, Bark Busters helped us in the beginning, but long-term we found that a different, more positive approach has been a better fit for Mimi.

This was the very first time we left our 1-year-old dog with someone. He's almost 80 pounds of pure energy, a big, happy, very enthusiastic boy so choosing the right person felt incredibly important. I was anxious and very cautious about who we could trust. From day one, Sara exceeded every expectation. She didn't just "watch" our dog -- she worked with him every single day with so much passion, patience, and love. When he came home after two weeks, the difference was remarkable. He was calmer, more focused, and able to control his excitement much better. Walking him used to be a struggle -- he pulled constantly and tried to grab everything he saw on the street. Now, our walks are so much easier and more enjoyable. Of course, there's no magic in dog training -- consistency is key, and we continue to reinforce what he learned -- but his biggest issue, jumping on people, improved dramatically. The foundation she built made such a difference. What also gave us tremendous peace of mind was her communication. Sara sent frequent updates, photos, and videos showing us what he was learning and how he was doing. On top of that, we received detailed daily emails about his overall condition. It made us feel completely reassured that we had chosen the right person. She even gave him several baths during his stay! Her place is incredible , very secure, spacious, and extremely dog-friendly. It honestly felt like a big farm where dogs can feel free yet safe. Sara is truly passionate, caring, and loving. Her knowledge of different breeds and her training methods are impressive and effective. You can clearly see that she genuinely loves what she does. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any dog owner, no matter the age or breed. Leaving your dog with someone for the first time is never easy, but with Sara, you can feel confident your dog is in the best possible hands.
