Located in a large shopping plaza by Target, this is a nice store that has everything for your pet's needs. I made an appointment here to get my dog groomed since i saw a special first time customer offer online. Upon arrival, I checked in easily and tried to confirm the new customer special would be applied and they seemed a little confused. I pointed out the sign near the front door advertising this and they said I needed to cancel and rebook. Needless to say I couldn't figure that out and when I came back to pay, the cashier told me that it only applied to a grooming package (definitely was not clear on that in the ad). Besides that, the groomer was nice and understanding especially since this was our pup's first groom. She took a little more time to allow him to get used to it and decompress, and gave us a good description of what he was like and how to better prepare him for next time. He came out looking like a whole new dog who smelled so nice! read more

I love the location of this Petsmart near Target. The other Petsmart we frequent seems to be low in stock on items we need so we have started coming to this location for our furry friends needs. Staff is great. I like using curb side delivery as well. Our curb side delivery experience has been great, an employee brings items right away. Their app is so user friendly, I love clicking off the deals and earning points with every purchase. We will definitely remain loyal customers. read more

BEWARE.. This a place to have your dog PROFESSIONALLY groomed. It is basically a hack shop at best, if you don't care about what your dog looks like after they have been groomed, then I suppose this is the place. Especially if you have a higher maintenence breed such as a Maltipoo. Out dog came in nice, clean and fluffy. Afterwords, he was completely shaved and hacked with barespots. the way a customer is treated needs to be improved. the whole thing started by me checking out and being charged $95 for what I needed. Great, fantastic. My card is charged and the credit card terminal says "Approved, Thanks" but their register didnt print out a receipt. The nice girl ringing me up, says "oh there was a glitch, I need my supervisor" ok fine. the supervisor comes up **with an attitude right out the gate. before words are even spoken, she was rolling her eyes.** She immediately states "I have to run your card again. it was just done as a hold. you can't leave" ummm no, while waiting for you to come up here I called my bank and they said it was most certainly was NOT a hold and that it was a "pin used purchase" The supervisor stood and argued with me about it saying it didnt go through. IT CLEARLY DID. She refused to look at my bank app that showed the purchase. She refused to listen to my bank who was on the phone listening to all this go down. When I asked for the store manager above her *she looked maybe 18 with cheek piercings** She refused to give her name. Stating "I am the manager" bwahaha ok. At this point I'm shaking and just need dog food. I allow the manager to charge me AGAIN and the funny part is after she did it, it didn't ring up to the same amount as the first time!!! I point it out and she told me she doesn't care. Fast forward 2 days... Guess what wasn't a hold and has now posted to my account! What a dumb you know what.... Prior to leaving I told her if it didn't drop off like she said it would, that I would charge back both purchases...and the supervisor encouraged me too. Petsmart.....is this who you want to represent you, your brand and your money?...your "manager" is indirectly taking money from your pockets. I will be filing a chargeback with my bank for both charges since we don't know which one is accurate and the fact I was overcharged the first time. SMH read more

I have done a few order online and picked up in store at this location because there have been too many times that I go to buy dog food and they have nearly nothing on the shelf. This time I ordered a bag of dog food. When I got there it wasn't ready which wasn't the at all problem. The problem was that the woman who brought it up was clearly annoyed because she couldn't find. She couldn't find it because it was on clearance, she said "we aren't carrying this in the store anymore, which is why it's on clearance". I told her I paid full price for it, she said you have to pay full price if you bought it online and ripped the clearance price off. I was chill about waiting, didn't force the issue on paying $26 instead of the marked $13 and was STILL met with a vibe of inconvenience. I likely won't be coming back, I wanted to go to kahoots to get the food but this seemed more convenient. Next time I'll just go to kahoots. read more

I needed to buy ten. She insisted on asking me the size of the tank. I told her it was big enough for the fish and I showed her how big it was. She refused to sell it to me. Did she think I would kill the fish? I've never had this problem at other stores. This woman is very arrogant and thinks she has a doctorate. This is my second review of this store. My dog got a bath here and was not blow-dried. The smell was the same when it was delivered and it was still the same when I took it home. Don't come to this store. Aisles are well stocked and neat. I was able to find everything I needed to set up a fish hospital tank in a hurry. The store associates at this location are always friendly and welcoming, but I wanted really wanted to say thank you this time when I came in to buy medication and equipment for a hospital tank for my sick fish. I was held up at work and thus delayed in getting treatment for my beloved fish. I also had to rush off to another urgent errand after. At the register, I tried to use a coupon for the fish medication but it didn't apply to the item and I said it's okay nevermind and wanted to rush off as soon as possible. The store associate kindly gave me the discount anyways. It was just like 2 dollars but I think most stores and associates would have understandably not allowed it. Everyone was friendly and helpful and had the most positive attitudes. I'm a San Diego original that has transplanted to Texas. Even though they have their "Southern Hospitality" over yonder, this Petsmart dominated in that aspect. If you want pet supplies to keep your pets in stylish Halloween garb or to get waste bags so they can take a spooky dookie, I recommend this fine establishment. P.S. I bought a bag of Hill's Science Diet cat food and it had a coupon stuck on it for a free pouch of cat food. They also had a deal of save 12 cents per pouch if you buy 12 or more so i got 15 pouches. When I checked out, I told the cashier about the free pouch and she took the coupon off the bag and ripped it so she was unable to scan the free coupon! She scanned everything and told me she couldn't scan the coupon where I get one free pouch but assured me I got all the savings. On the screen I told her the savings was just for the saving 12 cents per pouch not for the free one. I wanted the coupon back but she threw it away and assured me the savings took account the free pouch. I am looking at my receipt again at home and no where does it show I got one for free. 15 pouches x 12 cents is $1.80. I saved from buying over 12 pouches but not from the coupon I wanted to redeem . The receipt doesn't reflect the free pouch, and I felt the cashier was dishonest. If she did it correctly, the receipt would show 14 pouches, not 15. Maybe I would have only saved another $1.75 but it's the principle. I've had better luck at another store so I will not return to this one. read more

Lately, PetSmart has been my pet retailer of choice for my Winnie aka Winnie the Poo aka Winnie Bago. This store is conveniently located in a shopping area with Target, Home Depot, Party City, Marshalls, 99 Ranch Market, etc. That makes it a good destination for me because I can cross multiple errands off my to-do list. Once inside, it's important to know that this is a smaller footprint store. So, they won't have everything you might see in the store off Aero Drive or Rosecrans. That is a disappointment for me because Winnie's food is only in the larger stores. But, what you lose in size, you gain in efficiency. You can traverse the entire store in a few minutes. While it feels tight inside, that can be a bonus because you can find what you need a lot more quickly. Annnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddd....never fear! If you're shopping with the kiddos, the animals and fish in the back of the store provide a cute diversion! It's tucked away, but my daughter can gaze forever at the live animals and fish. The employees at this location are friendly and you can tell that there is an attention to detail within the cleanliness and neatness of the store displays. Very disappointed in our recent visit to groomers at this location. My poor dog was traumatized from the horrible experience. The groomer did a very poor job in trimming his face. There were uneven pieces all over. His ears weren't even brushed out! But, the worst was a raw piece of skin I discovered on his chest when I got home. They didn't even tell me about it! I was extremely disappointed with the service or lack of at the pet grooming given today 071325. I have been taking my two dogs here for the past few years and never received the rude and incompetent service as I did today. Not only had they rescheduled my dogs appointment for their convenience to today but they failed to schedule the appointment for both my dogs as we previously discussed over the phone. When I asked to speak to a management staff I was refused that right. Definitely taking my business elsewhere. I do not recommend this company for your fur babies. I've been very unhappy with the grooming salon at this location although the grooming salon at Pacific Beach has never given me any issues. Twice in a row now I brought my Australian Shepherd in, and she got a terrible haircut, nothing blended, chunks missing, and overall, you could just tell this person had no idea what they were doing. On top of that, the girl had a terrible attitude and was actually quite rude, even though she was the one that was late back from her lunch break and I was waiting for her for my schedule 2 PM appointment. I ended up complaining which I really hate to do and the manager gave me about $30 off so I still paid 100. Looking back I don't know why I paid for this haircut at all, three people have commented or joked and asked me if I did it myself because it looks so unprofessional. Then I got home and discovered a raw patch of skin that was shaved way too close and now it's super irritated and she keeps licking it. Overall I gave them another chance and this is the second terrible experience, I will never be back. read more

They don't always have the extra-small size that's needed for her collar but when they do, we buy one. I am reviewing this based off of the groomer Elena. She is incredibly unprofessional and racist. My mother went to go drop off my dog for a grooming the day before and the groomer did a bad job (not a big deal but definitely not worth the $70 plus tip). So she went back the next day and Elena was the groomer that on the clock. Elena was rude, dismissive and unprofessional. More importantly she said that my mother clearly does not know English and that, that was the issue of the bad haircut. What? I don't understand how she thought that was appropriate. Absolutely racist of her to even question her knowledge and grasp of the English language. I do not understand how she's employed. I went here in search for some bird toys and saw a parakeet sitting all alone. I bought her since she looked a little depressed, and for the first time in my pet career someone finally asked me if I had other birds! A girl named America helped me out that day and she was super knowledgeable. Another customer kept bugging her about frogs when she was talking to me about parakeets and she knew everything the other customer asked, and kept calm and was very nice. She told me parakeets do best in groups and told me and my SO the bird had been alone for about 2 weeks, and was excited we had a bird family already at home. The cashier also chatted with us about birds and was excited the lonely one got to finally have some friends. She gave us some booklets so I could learn more since I only recently learned they do well in groups. Your manager I believe his name was Andrew was wildly inappropriate with extreme hostility and called me a BITCH and said " I acted better than others because I was wealthy". His groomer proceeded to illegally videotape the conversation and denied doing it. I later taped it so I could forward to you or an attorney. I had my own grocery bag I put a few packs of wet food in (would fall through the cart) and other items I usually put in my grocery bag and give to cashier: I went to my vehicle to get a receipt and realized I forgot to purchase the wet food items. Your manager was 10000% inaccurate in his false accusations, hostile, aggressive, condescending, dismissing and abusive causing an escalated and embarrassing issue in your store. Any false police reports should immediately be withdrawn or I will be filing a lawsuit for this against PetSmart. It's on camera the moment I walked in and stated "I can't find the receipt for the dry dog food and forgot to buy the wet food". Only after that, this manager loudly accused me of taking the wet food and did not hear me state I returned to pay for it! I am so angry I want reassurance that SAN DIEGO POLICE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT GIVEN A FALSE REPORT. Rude, unprofessional, judge mental, hostile, diva behavior. Falsely accused a 15 year client of nonsense, called me a "bitc*", and allowed his groomer to video tape me voicing upset over his unethical behavior, which is illegal in the state of California. He demonstrated wreckless behavior in corporate setting and should be terminated for such a liability to this store and to prevent litigation in the future. The other young lady Sky was very composed and empathetic and stated they have frequent theft which is not my problem. I was distraught as I just suffered a major tragedy and the manager told he "didn't care about my loss" and had no empathy for others. Just playing cop, abusing power and being right and egotistical above all else. A great grooming department! Been coming here since i got my puppy, Hercules. They always take great care of him, he comes home looking and smelling beautiful. Hercules always comes back with a little treat after here so he loves coming to the groomers now!
