I have been taking my poodle/terrier mix to Alonzo at this PetSmart for almost a year now and I highly recommend him . He has a great personality with both dogs and people. I always book my appointments with him, so we now have a history and he knows how I want Petey cut. The only reason I took off 1 star was that a couple of times there has been a problem with calling to tell me Petey was ready to be picked up. One time the manager said the phone in the groomery was out of order so they couldn't call (what no cell phones?) and the other time I called and they said he was ready but when I got there he wasn't finished yet and I had to wait. I went here to buy an aquarium and some fish without having any sort of knowledge on how to keep fish. I went to walmart first and they told me to just put the fish in the water and I am glad i did not listen to them as all the fish would have died. At petsmart they explained the entire process to me on what equipment i need and how to prepare the water and food to keep the fish alive. I took the aquarium home and prepared the water according to how they had explained to me and brought it back for testing. They tested it and confirmed that it was ready for the fish. I couldn't have done it without their help. read more

I love the employees at this store and they are always super helpful. We are reptile lovers and the have always employees remembered what we need and buy for our little guys. Every time they get a new reptile in they are quick to show up and always informative. They are a hardworking crew and extremely knowledgeable about their products. read more

Awful. Parents went to take my small fluffy dog to get a hair cut and when they arrived they gave the groomer my dogs leash. However when she grabbed the leash my dog got nervous and backed away from her and I kid you not she said "I'm sorry but I cant with your dog". They need better people who have the courage to groom a dog read more

I like Petsmart, but this one i always have problems at. A 5 minute trip takes almost 30 minutes because of some kind of error. For example, I bought some science diet cat food. I walked out to my car and noticed there was a hole in the bottom and some little black bugs. I took it back in and asked the worker at the front if I could just switch the bag. He said I would have to do a return. The problem was the line was long and I didn't want to wait; I had things to do. There have been a couple of occasions I had to return items and the clerks had troubles. I don't like going to this petsmart, but my girlfriend keeps going there. It has wasted too much of my time, waiting for them. read more

So the first time we got our schnauzer doxie's haircut from here I did not like it much, yes the staff was friendly but her new hair-trim did not come out good and looked quite choppy. So we took her to Petco and they charged more and it came out even worse the first time, so yesterday we went back to Petsmart and had it done by their team members again and it came out perfect. I think we just got bad hair stylist the first time we got it done from here. This time everything came out perfect, her back, her eye-brows, and beard. They didn't shave off too much which is a good thing as at times they shave off too much and their isn't a lot of fur left and it takes forever to grow back. So if you are looking to get your dog's hair groomed I would highly recommend this place as they are pretty good. I will try to find out who did my dog's hair the next time I go there and request the same person and post it on here so you will know who's good and who's not :) read more

It's been some time since this incident happened because I tried to let it go and I just possibly can't. The customer service here is disgusting ! One person in paticular. This woman's name is Loretta she is an older white woman with blonde hair, that was working in the fish section of the store. It was Black Friday and they were having sales on fish. My mother came in, and bought some fish for her tank. Unfortunately 2 of them died almost immediately. So I took my mother back with the bag ( yes, a bag. This woman wrote out 8 different sku codes on one bag and stuffed all the fish into 1 bag). The girl at the register was friendly but clearly not in the mood to deal with us, so she called Loretta over. When shown the fish and the bag she claimed because the the sku didn't match the fish she wouldn't authorize a return. My mother kindly said to her, you wrote the numbers and you helped me out, if you didn't double check them to make sure they were correct before i I was charged for them then I shouldn't be held at fault. Mind you my mother did not want money back she just wanted the same fish back but alive. Loretta began to fight with my mother, raise her voice and roll her eyes and laugh. At that point I had enough of this woman belittling my mother and I made it very clear I didn't appreciate her attitude and unprofessional manner, to which she replied "well I've been here since 7 am !" It was only 11 am. I made it clear I could care less and that it wasn't my problem and that she clearly made a mistake and needed to fix it. She threw the bag and walked away saying "I don't even care anymore just give it to her" really?!!!? Really?!!!? It left such a horrible distaste in my mouth that weeks later I'm still pissed about it. So moral of the story if you need anything pet related go somewhere else, because this company has no focus on customer service and hires people like this. read more

For six years I've been getting grooming exclusively done by Alonzo, and He is Fabulous! My dog goes everywhere,He's a service Dog. Alonzo clips,squeezes,polishes with love and creative flare. My Pomeranian gets the Lion Cut and it is soooo cute. People stop Me and ask to take a picture of Him. I've had a Lady call out,"Ozzy" while in Target. I asked ,"Do I know You?" She said,"No, but I just left Petsmart and saw Him getting groomed. He was so cute I had to ask what His name was".I carry Alonzo's Business card because Many people like the Lion cut so much they want to get it for their dogs.Often people ask if Ozzy is a show Dog. I've been pulled over for speeding, and because Ozzy is so cute and well mannered the officer was impressed that He didn't bark or even growl at the officer. "Is He sick, that's why your speeding, to get Him to the Vets?" The Officer says. "No sir, He's just a cute,mild tempered dog" I said. "Well I'm giving You a ticket for Your Tail light being out instead" My tail light was not out, but it sure beats the speeding ticket fine. Even a Skunk,nose to nose with Ozzy, Did not spray Him. Just like Pepe Le Pew cartoon, where the skunk falls in love with a striped cat,"Oh Mon Cherie...come to the Casaba with Me...We will make sweet music together '" Yes, Alonzo styles Ozzy so well that even a skunk was smitten with Him. Ozzy's look even helped sway a Court decision in My favor. The opposing council stopped in the middle of deliberation,while at the bench with Judge and My Attorney. " What's the Dog's name? He interrupts. My attorney tells Me as We are leaving, " You Know Your Dog won your case for You, they wanted to know His name, in the middle of deliberation at the bench." I'm looking for a casting agent for Ozzy. The cost may be a bit more but ears,glands,teeth and nails keep Ozzy looking equally fabulous as his cut does. Healthy and Hollywood Handsome is the grooming I've come to know and expect from Alonzo and this grooming salon. I really wish he did humans because I've had disastrous recent experiences. read more

After coming here for 7 months I will NOT be returning to this grooming salon. I have finally gotten fed up with my appointments being rescheduled almost every month. This last month my appointment was rescheduled because my preferred groomer was yet again unavailable, when they called to reschedule the appointment they changed the groomer but told me to keep the same appointment time which was 10:30AM. When I showed up that day the guy at the counter said I was scheduled for 1:30PM. I said that's wrong, he told me it w as ok, they could see my dog now anyway so I dropped off my precious pup and left. As I walked out of the store I realized I should have made sure my dog wasn't gonna have to sit around until 1:30PM to be seen (that's just wrong) so I walked back in and asked the guy at the counter if my dog was going to be seen right away or not. He specifically told me no, she would be seen now so I left. I went to do some errands and while I was on the other side of town I got a call from a rude girl who said my dog wasn't supposed to be in until 1:30PM, that she already has 2 other dogs to groom and my dog was going to sit around for 5 hours. I was so pissed that I was lied to, I went to go pick up my dog and started looking for a new groomer. This was the last straw, if this was the first incident I had I wouldn't have taken my business elsewhere but it seems that every time I come here there's an issue. read more

I told her that there were many cockroaches crawled on the floor, she said yeah and ignored them. Then I pointed her the fish that I wanted, she denied to sale it to me.... WT.... I'm so tired of the grooming department responding like they are annoyed you just walked in the door. They may not feel that way but it is what they are projecting- every single time I've been there. No smiles, no "can I help you?". They just stare until you start talking. Come on- where's the customer service? I stopped bring my dogs 2 years ago for many reasons and this was one of them. I am a big petsmart fan..and generally have never run into a reason to complain...but today I whistle a different tune. I had time to kill while waiting on a friend and decided to spend it browsing petsmart. My border collie is generally glad when i make such a choice but for whatever reason I was not all that welcome today. As I entered the store, associate deborah, nodded a hello with a sarcastic smile. After being awkwardly followed around the store and asked if I had a pet..I knew it was time to go. I purchased some training treats for my pup (no sense in denying him over an associate having a bad day). She was the one to ring me up and she refused to even smile. She commented on how large my purse is, and I realized that she had just been suspicious of my intentions in the store... I had been carrying my school bag. While understandable , kinda, for an associate to be weery of back packs or large bags... it is absolutely not acceptable to treat a customer like a criminal. While I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and blame it on a bad day- I just dont know if I will return to this location. read more

I have been taking my dog to Petsmart since he was a puppy, about two years ago. Two years ago I took my dog to get groomed and I specially told the groomer that he had sensitive ears and that he needed cotton balls when they bathed him. I pick up my dog and we return home only to realize he has an ear infection. The manager at that time told me she would make good and agreed to pay the vet bill. More recently I took my dog to Petsmart on Apil 17, 2013 and I get a phone call from Petsmart telling me that my dog had been cut by the razors. The groomer tells me that it isn't a big deal and that they took him to the vet and the vet put ointment on the wound. I go to pick up my dog and the cut is a large, and in my opinion could have used stitches. My dog is a small poodle/terrier and the cut started at the top of his hind legs and continued toward his paws. I appreciate the groomer taking my dog to the vet but when I took my dog home he began wagging his head from side to side and rubbing his head against the carpet. From previous experience, I knew that he had probably gotten an ear infection or his ears were irritated. I immediately called up the store manger, George, the next day and told him what happened. He said, "Well how do you know it was us?" and I begin to explain my past experience and how this has already happened in the past so I knew the signs. He continued on to explain that he didn't think the ear infection was because of the groomer and I tell him why I disagree. I disagreed because I already knew the signs from the first time this happened a year ago, and my dog wasn't around any water or anything that could have irritated his ears. After about 45 minutes George is finally convinced that Petsmart should pay for the vet bill. I took my dog to the vet and the doctor explained to me that when they trimmed my dogs ear they one, didn't trim his ears (hairs) correctly, and two trimmed too close to his skin so they irritated his inner ear. At this point the vet and George have discussed this and George agrees to pay. Then four days later I still noticed that my dog is continuing to shake his head and rub his head against the carpet so I take him back to the vet. I didn't even bother to call George because I didn't want to have the extra hassle. I knew that if I called him he would give me a hard time and wouldn't take responsibility for the mistreatment my dog got at the vet. I paid for the second vet bill out of pocket. When we, the pet owners, take our dogs to the groomers we expect them to be handled gently, we expect for the groomer to reference the notes on our dog ie sensitive ears, and we expect to receive our dogs back without injuries or infections. I understand it happening the first time because I know that accidents happen, but for this to happen a second time and for my dog to be cut with clippers all in the same visit is not okay. I will no longer be a returning customer here. read more

Recently watched the Peta video on how pet smart treats their animals and reptiles. EVIL!!! I always knew it, one of the employees told me a turtle died from a lazy employee. Apparently the turtle stayed out of the water for so long because it didnt want to be in the filthy water. :( I don't know why she shared this with me! This is a review pertaining only to the grooming employees. I had an appointment today at 7 AM with my Yorkie dog for a haircut. Beforehand I did not know who was going to cut her hair but upon arriving I found out that I was dealing with a woman by the name of Dana. Admittedly my dog has some social problems but with the right person she is fine. I've been here before and was hoping that my prior experience would be the same, however I was highly disappointed. As soon as I got there Dana was extremely rude to me, quickly checking me in, grabbing me dog from me, and shooing me on my way--wow I should feel totally safe with my dog in her arms. I left to get a call back an hour and a half later to come pick up my dog. The phone call consisted of 5 minutes of complaining about how my dog was not cooperative and shaking (maybe because this woman wasn't coming off as the nicest lady in the world) and that it would be best for me to come get her. When I came back to get my dog she quickly pushed my dog through the gate and gave me the receipt. For one, my dog was left unfinished. Two, I was charged with a "bad dog fee". Was this because my dog was trying to leave or because this woman did not know how to do her job??? Three, she told me that I wasn't allowed back unless my dog would return every 4-6 weeks to get comfortable with the groomers or else I would be refused service. Ouch, I'm getting punished did the incompetence of these people? I was waiting to pay while putting my dog's collar and sweater back on when she rudely told me to leave and pay at the front. I didn't even ask her where to pay... I should have grabbed a manager and refused to pay the extra charges due to her rude attitude, but I did not feel like staying anymore. I paid and left and will not be returning here again. Doggie Stylez down the street has much better service. Avoid Dana and probably this place altogether. The only reason this even deserves one star is for the gentleman at the cashier who was very friendly. The groomers here need some proper training and attitude adjustment. Hire those NOT in their 20's who act like they have little dog experience. Dana...get a life lesson on how to treat not only people but animal as well. Don't work with animals unless you're able to works with all types of dogs! It's you JOB!! read more

No stars for the service at the grooming salon!!! So I took my dog here for a bath and the k9 advantix flea removal after already using the dawn soap at home and it not working, they told me that the flea treatment would be a great solution for my dog and that it would kill reoccurring fleas that would get on my dog and would work for a MONTH. So I come to pick him up later in the day and asked them well what can I do if the flea medicine doesn't work? She told me to just take him back. I came home and saw there were still fleas on him and giving them the benefit of the doubt I waited for little over a week to see the medicine work. I called them today to discuss that there were still fleas on my dog and the girl was like well what do you want us to do?... Ugh and so she hands the phone to an even more ignorant guy and this guy proceeds to tell me that because I waited two weeks it was too long and that if it was one week then they could give my dog a free flea bath. wtf! What is the week difference ?! You guaranteed that the medicine would work for a month and the girl did not specify time frames in which I could bring him back! And then he tells me they can't put more of the medicine on him because it would be an overdose! Wth am I paying for then if you're just charging me up the ass for some bullshit medicine that doesn't even work. He asked if I wanted to speak with a manager and I said yes then tells me that the manager isn't even there and to call back tomorrow. This place is ridiculous and I'm never taking my dog back here again, and I suggest you don't either! I'm not asking for a free bath but I would like my money back if I'm paying for a medicine that doesn't even work that they used on my dog. This place is ridiculous. read more

I just got back from taking our dog to this Pet-Smart. We normally trim our dog's nails ourselves and she is completely insane when we do it. She is always very upset and cries when we do it. The woman at the front counter was really nice and took our dog in right away. A gentleman was the one who actually clipped her nails and cleaned her nails. When our dog started getting upset he actually picked her up and rocked her like a baby. I thought this was just the most fantastic service, instead of getting upset he knew exactly how to handle the situation. I am sure it took him a little extra time to do it but we will probably be bringing our dog back here to do her nails from now on. I was delighted. read more

I have a mind never to utilize their services again for grooming. I took my pappillon for grooming and called after dropping him off to say I needed a trim as well. The supervisor said they didn't have time for a trim. When I picked up my little guy the supervisor was sitting down chatting with others doing nothing. I was told by the other girl that they weren't busy and it could have been done. Never insult the intelligence of your customers as we know bad customer service and double talk right away. My husband and I have been taking our dog to Petsmart to be groomed. The first time we took her was just for her nails because she is small enough to wash at home. It went well, but our timid dog looked scared. We inquired about her first time away from us and getting her nails cut and they said she was great. We went the second time for the works. We got her glands expressed, teeth cleaned, ears done, and nails clipped. The guy was great. He spent time getting to know our timid dog and let us go to the back to pick her up when she was scared of getting out of the cage. We had had such great experiences we decided to go back tonight. Tonight changed our minds forever. I asked my husband if he wanted to get her nails clipped or the works again. We decided to spring for the whole thing because it is easy. Whenever we call they say no appointment necessary, so we walked in tonight. They had one dog waiting to get picked up and there were two dogs being groomed. (One of the dogs being groomed belonged to one of the groomers.) The lady was incredibly rude to us and started to say they couldn't fit us in that night even though they had no more appointments and were open for 4 more hours. How lazy. They finally decided they could fit us in. They asked us how old she was and when we told them 1 they said "oh, well since you don't have her rabies.." trying to get out of the appointment. I said that we had been there before and her attitude changed slightly. We talked to her about we really came for her nails and warned them that our dog was really shy. Carolyn, the incredibly rude lady who we talked to was also the person who was going to groom our dog. Lucky us! She dragged our dog across the floor to the back room without any sort of greeting. I had an uneasy feeling leaving her there. Fast forward 1.5 hours: we get a call that our dog was completely ready. The phone call consisted of "uh hi, your dog is ready, ok bye." I kept trying to brush off how rude the lady was because I knew it would be over soon. We go to pick her up and other girl there told us that our dog was snapping at them and almost bit someone. First of all, our dog has never done that before and would only if she was terrified. She went on to tell us they don't tell people sometimes when their dogs act up when they are there. This is the same girl (not Carolyn) who clipped our dog's nails previously and said our dog was great the first time, so she essentially admitted that she lied to us those other times. Carolyn then came out and told us that THEY HAD NOT CLIPPED HER NAILS. I told her that was the only reason we came there and she made no attempt to rectify the situation. We paid $18 to be treated poorly and have something done that we could have done in our kitchen sink. We wasted our evening and money for nothing to be done. We used to frequent this Petsmart and tell everyone about it, but now we will not be back. read more

HORRIBLE!!! Stay Away, for your dogs sake!!! Taking my dog Coco to the groomers, horrible experience ever!!!!!. 4hrs passed after dropping him off and never receveived a call, so then decided to drive on over there thinking I would get a call soonto pick him up. On the way there, receveiced a call from a Vetinary Clinic around th coroner stating I need to go in to sign some paperwrok in order for Coco to get into surgery and be under anesthesia. SHOCKED and in disbelife, I was confused, went to the Vets office to find my dog covered in blood and no word from PetSmart on what happened. I went over to PetSmart to talk to the manager and the manager was the WORST!!! He was not liscenting to me and my concern of why my dog was taken to a random vet wihtout my authorization oo knowledge of what was happening. NOT ONCE DID I RECEIVE A CALL, but the manager insisted they were trying to contact me. After speaking to the groomers on staff, turned out I was NEVER contacted. All lies, PetSmart was trying to cover the incident up hoping I would never know about it. Now my Coco is MISSING AN ENTIRE CHUNK OF HIS TOUNGE- 1/3 of it gone. Had to be on medication for 2 weeks and was unable to eat solid food. To this day he has trouble eating. WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!! read more

I came in looking for a de-wormer for my dog and she basically stopped what she was doing and took me to the area where the product was and then took the time to explain each of the products. I went in to Petsmart last night because my kitty has had some constipation issues for a few days now... I was looking for a good price on food as well as something that would be over the counter as recommended through veterinary website.. The first person I spoke to was named Joe and he was helping another customer so he said he would be right with me.. I chose to look around some more in the mean time.. Although he probably lost track of me I assume he had other duties in the store such as working the register so I found him and inquired his opinion upon what over the counter items I could purchase for my pet until I see the vet. Joe recommended I use some Wild Alaskan Fish Oil since it would help loosen up the stools. He also explained that after telling this to at least 3 other customers upon their next visit to the store they had thanked him and it had worked well :). that's a great thing to hear.. He seemed to really know what he was talking about and it made me feel comfortable in my purchases. However, I had to be directed by another store employee named Paula who was also awesome as she did fail to find the specific item I was looking for due to it being out of stock as well now knowledge about the food moisture/fiber content... but Joe was able to recommend a little more expensive brand (the fish oil) for a few dollars more that does the same trick.. turns out the same product for dogs will work with cats but come to find out its about $10 more.. i passed of course :).. Paula did help with another issue regarding my other cat who we have to get fixed. She did give me a phone number for the Humane Society where she got her dog fixed.. and gave me the info regarding costs for some services which was very helpful.. Upon leaving the store the guy who replaced Joe to work the register was friendly and smiled at me and even asked me how my day was since I seemed so frustrated.. :) I will definitely be returning here and updating you folks about Joe's fish oil advice! read more

In addition, recommend talking to the workers there for recommendation on products for your pet. Whatever they recommended have been prefect for my pomchi. I decided to take my maltese to get groomed because I was tired of taking her someplace else and having them tell me they had to shave certain parts because she was matted. So I figured I try going her since it was cheaper than this other place I was taking her. They charged me 40 and came out super white and not one part shaven down. This one location sucks. I went there to buy a parakeets and a week later after I bought it the bird got sick, I took it to the store and they told me it was fine. I brought it back to my house and one hour later the parakeets died. I had to wait until Monday because it was Sunday afternoon when my bird died and they were closed... On Monday I exchanged the dead bird for an alive one and this time I picked the one that seemed more happy, the guy told me the bird was 6 months old, so I took it home. six days later the bird got sick, started puffing up just like the other one and I took this second bird to the store the guy there told me that they were going to send him to the veterinary and they were gonna keep her at the veterinary. A week later they called me that my bird was fine, so I went to pick her up and four days my bird was dead when I return at lunch time from school. I took the second dead bird and Ervin, a sales associates was of not help at all. I keep my bird next to a window on my living room and when is hot I take her to the balcony that has a shade for her to get fresh air. The manager Kelly was very rude because I asked for my money back. I looked at the birds they have and they look sick and puffed up. My advise is DO NOT BUY BIRDS FORM THIS PLACE BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT ARE THEY DOING AND THE MANAGEMENT SUCKS, THE SALES REPS NEED MORE TRAINING BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT BIRDS. read more

This review is for the grooming department. I have been bringing my dog for over 4 years now. Everything was great up until a few months back, I took my dog for his regular haircut, clean face as always. I picked him up and to my surprise I did not receive a review(first time in 4 years) I did not pay much attention to it. A week later I noticed my dog had a cut on his face but his fluffy ears covered it, I called petsmart and they said to bring him in. I spoke with two of the managers and agreed to have him go to the vet and get checked out, the Vet confirmed that it was a razor cut and petsmart paid for the services. My dog had to wear a cone for several weeks until the cut healed. I thought it was very unprofessional that they did not give me a report and notified me that they cut him. I thought well I'm sure who ever did the grooming was new, I set up another appointment for this weekend and explained to them what happened last time and asked to have the most experienced groomer take over this time. To my surprise when I got home I realized my dog had two razor cuts this time, one very near his eye and the other one on his face. I did receive a report but it said my dog had done a great job, but they sure forgot to add the part about giving him two cuts. I immediately called petsmart and they had me on the phone for about 10 minutes trying to figure out who I could speak with, when I finally was listened, their first comment was "and you barely noticed?" very unprofessional to say that. They should have known what they were doing and notify me of the accident. My dog was taken back to petsmart and all they said was put a cone on for three days and see if it heals. Very dissapointed with their services, definitely never bringing my dog back! Please be careful if you take your pets here! read more

Only got two stars because one of the cashiers is AWESOME. I dont remember his name, but hes flamboyant and alot of fun, really tries to engage the customers, I adore him. He gets 5 stars. However, I rarely seem to be able to get out of the store without having a terrible run in with the older woman in the two wrist braces. I used to work at psmart, and was the hand feed bird specialist amongst other things for years. So I love talking to the conures. No hands, no nothing, just talking. This woman took offense at this, harrassing my guy and I and talking over us about how mean and terrible the darling little bird is. Maybe he just doesnt like HER. I certainly dont. We left the store wihtout finishing our shopping because she kept following us talking AT us, not with us. I honestly believed she was going to buy the bird for herself and was trying to make sure we werent interested. Fast forward past the times weve had to skirt by her... We needed a new cage, and the psmart we went to was out, so we called this one. On hold forever, phone started ringing again, she picks up, I tell her I was on hold waiting for someone to check so and so cage, she puts me on hold to look, third person, male, picks up the phone. He was unpleasent, but at least finally checked for the cage. They had one, I said id be right over. We get there at 10 to closing, but we know what we want so we try to go in and grab is. Wirst brace lady is at the door, blocking it, claiming they were closed, but if we knew exactly what we wanted we could get it. I brushed by her, telling her I did, and its not 7 yet. We get our item, theres a long line. We pay, and as im leavng my cell turns the clock to 7. I show her, and tell her now its 7. She stutters something rudely about how they go by the registers and we are still wrong. I cannot pretend I was polite in return. As much as I adore chatting with the one cashier, I cant stand her, and will not go to this location again unless I have to. read more

This particular Petsmart location has the best staff. I have been frequenting this location for years now and have always gotten help within minutes of walking into the fish department (other locations you could perish waiting for someone to wander through). I have a variety of pets, so I am here often. Staff are always present, friendly, and helpful... probably a testament to good management as well as a great team. read more

They were very helpful but it was hard to find things. I wished they had labeled isles better.

The grooming services are ok, not bad, but not great. I would recommend getting the basic wash package. The extra services are not worth it and you cannot tell the difference. read more

I bought a guinea pig from this location on Friday 9/12. By Monday, after looking closely I realized the guinea pig had what I'm pretty sure is lice. This guinea pig then gave it to the guinea pig I already had so I called the store back and spoke to the manager who said I could bring them in. When I got there, the manager was very short with me and seemed in a hurry to get me out of the store. He said I could return them and they would "see what they could do" and I could buy them back later, which wasn't a satisfactory answer in my opinion. He made it sound like the only option so we began the return process when I started asking more questions. He said since their vet isn't on site he had no idea how long this would take or when I would get an update. Since I bought my first guinea pig from the Hamilton location, he said I could try taking them there instead. I asked if he could call that location and check for me because I didn't want to drive all the way there if they wouldn't take them. He reluctantly agreed and all the while made me feel like I was taking up too much of his time. He came back and said I could go to the Hamilton location and just walked away. I had to help myself to get my guinea pigs which he had carelessly left behind the counter. Especially considering his store sold me a lice infested guinea pig in the first place, he did not seem concerned whatsoever that the rest of his guinea pigs were probably also infected. He has poor customer service skills and complete disregard for the well being of animals. Very disappointing. read more

I will never shop at this Petsmart, and possibly any Petsmart after my experience there. I work at Best Buy and found a cat with another employee in the parking lot that we share with Petsmart on Curtner Avenue. We weren't sure what to do with the cat so we went into Petsmart to see if they could help. Now I know that it probably makes sense as a normal policy to not accept strays, however, on telling the manager that this cat was found out there they said there was nothing they could do. Now what kind of company that claims to love pets can turn away an animal so that it could starve to death or get hit by a car in their own parking lot? I fully understand the need for policies, since I too work for a retailer, but without the ability to go above and beyond your policies at times for your customers as well as the animals you claim to care about, you are a worthless company and will lose the business of pet lovers like me. After pestering the manager long enough, another employee offered to get a carrier box so I could take it to the shelter, which I am grateful for. However, had I not been off of work, and needed to return to work, they would have let that poor cat sit outside because of their "policy." read more
