ALEENA literally shaved everything off my dog, even her tail was shaved. 2 years of having MY DOG groomed, Never ever in her dog life had any groomer who went to this extent. She cut her skin, probably tortured her during the process too, who knows! If you can not give her a cut or is lazy af, pls tell us as there are many many other places to go get her groomed!! ALEENA DID NOT leave the poof on her face as we requested and she literally shaved all her hair on her tail off. She literally looks like a rat!!!!!!. I understood her body was slightly matted but why did you have to shave her face, ears, and tail? Like I said ALEENA is not professional at all. Who the F shaves everything? I will leave a one star only because I have no choice. This store needs to hire people who are kinder to the dogs. My dog has been going here for daycare and boarding since he was a puppy and he's always loved the staff. He's tiny and shy and needs patience at first then he warms up. I've never had any problem before. I recently booked a 14 day stay, which has considerably gone up in price. As soon as I dropped him off I already had a feeling something will happen. Desk person never greeted hello to me or my dog. She went straight to him and combed part of his head and his body- without saying hi to the dog or telling me what she's doing. It's always helpful to explain what you're doing before, it's part of a good business practice. Then she puts the collar on my dog. Fast forward 5 1/2 hours later when I picked him up from dog camp, I don't see me dog out playing. Same girl tells me, oh he growled and tried to bite me so I left him in the Kennel. They didn't even try to call me and tell me, so I get full charged. No other explanation. I stayed ok so does that mean he can't come back here, bc he's booked for boarding next week. Again all she says is no and turns away. She had to ask another staff to help her leash my dog. This person should not be working with dogs. Or anything service related. You will lose a lot of business. My dog was just there dog a full day camp 2 weeks prior with no problem. She had no other explanation whatsoever. I've never complained when I left my dog there in the past that unless you paid for express they would t even let the dogs out for play or walks. Picked him up smelling like his urine. They have too many dogs and too many I experienced staff who has no empathy. Find other dog sitters, your dogs will thank you for it! read more

Went with my dog to go get some treats and when we were checking our cashier (#703454) decided to make an unwelcoming comment. He pointed out my dogs prong collar and started condescendingly questioning me regarding my knowledge on prong collars. When I responded that we are in private training he then started questing if I even researched my trainer before hand. It was VERY out of place. I started with PetSmart grooming on Curtner then moved to Almaden location more recently. Twice Leah did the bath and grooming for my pup. She was fantastic! Great hair cut both times!! And he loved her which is great cuz he is usually scared of his visits to the grooming salons. This time I was told that Leah is on a medical leave (hope she feels better) so another groomer did the work. I was not happy with the results....his fur is not smooth, but kind of lumpy. I recently purchased some cat food from this location. When I got home and opened the bag there were bugs. I called this store and let them know. The representative (I forgot her name) was kind enough to offer a refund and exchange. I couldn't come back that same day but she said she would leave a note with the closing manager Brenda. I went back the next day, after speaking with the cashier and confirming with Brenda they did just that. I went to this location for my maltese hair cut. The price are good but their skill are bad. I left my dog at the store at 12:30 PU 4:30. The body hair cut are un-even but still acceptable. I have asked them to fix it when I picked her up since the hair around her butt were clearly un-even and look super weird. My dog was tired , so I just took her home without fixing the hair around the face. I called them the next day to ask them to fix the hair around the face , because the heair around her chin are super un-even. I asked for a bear face style , but they just cut whatever. They are the WORST pet hotel anyone can imagine! We were so regret even tried them once and withdrew our dog only one day! (He was supposed to be there a whole week while we went Hawaii). On the day we checked in, without trying to build the bounding with my dog, they immediately tried to put him on leash and tag. Any dog would panic when a stranger tried to do that, thus my dog refused. They immediately jump into the conclusion my dog was not "dog sitting friendly". After several attempt, my dog finally gave in and they then lock him in the cage. Immediately after we landed in Hawaii, they called me and asked me to retrieve my dog, because he was sick. My dog got sick on their hand and I had to ask one of my friend to pick him up from the Petsmart Pet Hotel. They have ABSOLUTELY no pet expertise and do NOT know how to take care of dogs! I strongly think they should close their business and I hate to see them causing suffering for any other dogs! We finally found a private pet sitter with price even LOWER than them! By the way, their charges are also crazy. They charge you if you like your dog "out of the cage and taking 10 extra minutes of playing"! If you are not sending your kids to state prison when you need a sitter, you should NOT send your dog to this place! read more

I also want to applaud the PetHotel staff at this location, they care for my crazy Jack-Russell mix in Day Play and that in itself deserves a huge thank you! This place was a bit of a headache. I know that it takes some extra paperwork when using a new location for the Pets Hotel the first time, so I called in advance to give my grooming instructions for a grooming day and obtain the paperwork that would be needed upon hotel check-in. It still took the snail-paced girl 30 minutes to check me in despite me handing her everything she needed when I walked in and no one else being there. She also didn't know how to process an electronic gift card using the card number and pin and had to call for assistance. She also didn't have the grooming notes I had given on file, so she wrote them down. Later I get a call from Grooming saying they see I have an appointment but have no grooming instructions so I give the instructions for the 3rd time. I pick up my dog and another girl checks me out, also unsure of how to process and card number and pin electronic gift card. I'm informed that my dog's toy I had bought at check-in is in the washing machine so they hand me the sopping wet toy in a plastic bag and bring out my dog, who somehow has this 90s boy band haircut with a part down the middle and bangs. I posted a picture of him on Facebook next to a photo of Brad Renfro in the late 90s and at least everyone on my feed had a good laugh. Ultimately my dog was cared for and kept alive and fed, so, two stars. (?) read more

Review re: my last visit to Petsmart Almaden Grooming Salon There are some uneven spots after the grooming but I am okay with that. However, I am not okay with my dog left behind and locked up unnecessarily long after all groomers left the shop because no one called me after the grooming!!!!!! My dog went in for grooming by Alice at 1:30pm. It was around 1:45pm by the time I left the shop (line up to enter the salon and service one person at a time can take long but I am glad the shop is taking all the precautionary acts to be safe). I was told by Alice she will call me when grooming is all finished. It usually takes 2-3 hours so I waited. There was no call until 5:30pm so I called Petsmart Almaden. I asked to be transferred to the salon but the guy told me it was already closed. WHAT??!! Then, he asked if I was calling regarding picking up a pet. I explained that no one had called me yet but yes I was waiting to pick up my dog. Then, I asked what he meant by that the grooming salon is closed. He told me all the groomers already left but someone can bring out the dog. I was and I still am soooo furious that 1) no groomer(s) called me from the salon after the grooming, 2) then locked up my dog in the back room, 3) when he must be barking excessively because he hates being crated and baking until his voice is gone, 4) then carelessly left the salon!!!!! I really wonder what happened and hope things like this never ever happens again. BAD experience both for me and my dog. When I went in.....my dog was waiting - sitting on the lap of one of the store associate, maybe a store manager?? The lady went in and took my dog out from the crate because I already called in ahead of time. I picked him up, paid the fee, still left tip for Alice (but less than What I usually give), thanked the lady, and left the store. My dog looks a little choppy with irregular shaped face and long bunches of hairs sticking out behind his ears but that is okay. He always looks cute regardless of his haircut so I am fine as long as he can stay cool (Pomeranians can get too hot once temp goes up). His voice is hoarse and raspy from yesterday's traumatic locked-up & left behind to bark experience. So, anyone going in for a grooming...please emphasize to CALL after grooming is all finished. By the way, this is our regular grooming shop so there is no way a wrong phone number can be written on the profile. I also recommended Alice to my neighbor few weeks ago (before this experience) and she made appointments for her two pups which will be on 20th. I will warn her so she can remind groomers to call her back ASAP. The first grooming experience for pups should not be traumatic! I personally am not sure if I would go back. Dog Training & Wade M. First off our furbabies love Wade so much, they are always so excited to see him! He answered all the questions we had, reassured us of the things we're already doing at home and put our minds at ease. He thoroughly explained each activity that we were working on for that week ie: why we are doing it, what we hope to accomplish with it, how will we feel and how will the pups feel. He gave us time to take notes and whenever we got stuck or needed further clarification he would take his time doing so. He was very flexible when we missed 2 classes, and got us up to speed. He is very informative, patient, knowledgeable, helpful, teaches with such positive energy and most importantly he's very caring with both our furbabies Noir & Luna. Thank you Wade for helping us raise our babies with positive reinforcement. P.S: Thank you for teaching my pawrents to give us all the treats! They cancelled my appointment for the 2nd time in some months today because someone did not show. They cancel without any effort to reschedule and put the entire burden on you even though they should be helping. It's very painful to hear these cancellations the morning. If your appointment. A good service would call another location and try to get you an appointment t there or work overtime to include you. Very little thought in customer service. Some of them are kind and do a good job but these cancellations overshadow this unfortunately. read more

I have provided 1-star review due to my bad experience with an employee, Kelly (supposedly a manager at this location). She could not seem to understand what options are available for a customer that received a free product due to a coupon. Customer should be able to return the product for the regular product price with receipt and product intact. Kelly did not understand that although the product was free, it still maintains a value; she insisted that I can return the free product to PetSmart and not be losing anything because I had not paid for the product. The funny thing is, I called a second PetSmart location (Curtner) and they totally understood my situation and offered to credit me the regular price of the product. Props to the Curtner PetSmart staff for giving a proper response immediately. After prompt response from Curtner, I ended up calling the Almaden location again (I wanted to leave feedback on my experience) and Kelly answered, she told me that she spoke with her store manager shortly after our initial call and was told that a refund could be issued in my situation. I have provided my store experience to the corporate site and I will also be speaking with the Store Manager of this experience as well, hopefully resulting in an improvement in customer experience training at this location, especially for someone who is supposedly a 'manager'. read more

Every time I am in the store all the workers are super friendly! Both my dogs come in regularly for grooming, vet care, and day camp. GROOMERS: Tawnee is such a sweet person. My dogs love her and I am never disappointed with her work. She always remembers my little picky requests and I am so thankful. My big dog saw Spencer when he was just a puppy. I know puppies can be a handful during baths, especially big puppies, but Spencer was so kind and understanding. I always book my grooming appointments online. Horrible employees with attitudes! There is a sentence in their grooming agreement that says to advice them if you prefer that they don't use kennel drying and they threw such a tantrum when I asked for that for my dog's grooming appt- something that literally their own contract says to do! When they finally relented and I tried to point out the language in their contract, this woman says I know what it says, I work here! i have used their services at least 10 times in the past without incident or drama but I'm done with them now. Petsmart needs to understand that they need the business more than I need them- there are dozens of other choices for pet grooming and I will not stand for poor customer service like this. read more

Picked our dog up on 11/5/2021 after a 7 night stay at the pets hotel. He had stayed here without issue several times before but this time when we picked him up he was urinating straight blood. Nobody mentioned this to us and we were shocked when we noticed. In fact, the employee made a point to tell us that he had a "healthy" bowel movement and went pee already that morning. When I picked him up I did notice he was wet in some places (mostly his paws and under his tummy/penis area) but I assumed she had just washed him off or something before letting us pick him up. On top of the fact he was urinating pure blood, he pooped THIRTEEN TIMES in the 8 hours after we picked him up. It was solid poop so we believe he wasn't being taken to the bathroom on a regular basis at all over the seven days he was there. My dog poops once daily on a regular basis and is a super picky eater so there is no way he would even have thirteen poops worth of food inside him at any given time if he had been taken to the bathroom on a regular basis. I called and told them they that we were concerned and unhappy and they said they didn't think they caused the issue. My dog is a perfectly healthy two year old dog who receives regular care at the Almaden Banfield. They advised me to take him to the vet and they would cover the bill. So I contacted my vet who said monitor over night, give plenty of water, and come in first thing in the morning. When we went in to the vet in the morning he was urinating regular urine followed by blood. The vet looked everything over, did some tests, and said he would be okay. It seems like he wasn't getting enough water. That same day the Pets Hotel called me- I repeat they reached out to me- and provided me an email address to send the vet bill to. They said they would take care of it within a week. I sent the vet bill to the email address and never heard back. I sent a follow up email and never heard back. I'm now on hold for over twenty minutes trying to speak to someone at the pets hotel about whether or not they are going to cover the vet bill I incurred because of their utter failure to care for my dog. I would NEVER recommend that you take your dog here and I won't take mine here ever again. read more

Worse place to take your dog for grooming!!!!!! Have a cute 7 month old Maltipoo puppy that we took there regularly but after yesterday's nightmare....taking our business elsewhere!!!!!!! We requested only for trimming of paws, basic hygiene and around the eyes. Instead they cut his fur very very short!!!!!!! We gave specific instructions to not tough the head or above as we are growing it long and prefer to tie a bow on the top! Really upset and disgusted that they cannot take instructions and on top of it paid $49.00 for a horrible experience!!!!!!!! Do not recommend this location at least for grooming.
