I have purchased numerous supplies here for all types of animals and they always seem to have a good selection of just about everything. Since I am more of a fish/reptile/amphibian person, I will concentrate on those sections the most because I know them the best. They carry a wide array of tanks for anything you could need. Most of their tanks seem to go off and on sale at random times, but when they do, they are usually good prices. The fish that I have purchased from here for both work and home have always survived long and in most cases, longer then they should. Is this because they are just good fish or good tank upkeep. Maybe both but I like getting fish from here. Their fish supplies are basically from the majors. Tetra, Marineland, stuff like that. I would like to see a more varied supply of pumps but for a big chain store it isn't bad. The reptile/amphibian area is pretty much the same. Zoomed, T-Rex, All Living Things, the mass market stuff. They really need a better supply of reptile lights, as a lot of the ones that they sell are not appropriate for certain animals, like for instance my Bearded Dragon. All of the lights they sell there are either not appropriate for him or can cause permanent eye damage. Do your research before buying any of these lights to make sure they work for your animal. I also buy Superworms here and they always seem to be healthy and active and last a few weeks. I will buy crickets if I really need to, but they are expensive compared to the mom and pop stores. Now I am going to rant a little bit and explain why the three stars. Their reptile enclosures are sad and depressing. They have no clue how to house a reptile or amphibian correctly. I have seen the same Bearded Dragon baby in their cage that I know will be dead in a week from mishandling, bad lighting, bone disease and crappy food. You don't feed baby dragons dry pellet food. That is just stupid. All of the cages are to small for the animals housed there in. I get it, they are expecting on moving these animals as fast as possible and tank sizes shouldn't be bothered with. That's well and good but what if they don't sell. Would you want to live in a house the size of your closet? Probably not. Their employees are nice but depending who you talk to, not vary knowledgeable in their departments. Know what you want before you go into the store. I have worked at a pet store and have been in the industry for well over twenty years and I have on numerous occasions, had to correct what an employee told someone to buy when they asked them a question. I usually do this out of earshot from the employee. I know they are just doing their job and trying their best. No point stepping on any toes. I have found some people that work there, know anything and everything about their department which is awesome. Just don't believe everything they tell you. Get a second opinion and do some reading before hand. I like this place and I always come here for supplies. I just want to warn people that stores like these sell to the mass market and don't always have exactly what your animal needs so they try to sell you the next best thing. Go here, look around, save an animal and buy supplies. The store is worth it. A side note, this store also has a grooming service, a vet and a cat rescue. I went in the cat rescue today and played with an adorable white kitten that broke my heart to put down. I also found out from the volunteer that worked there that they are a no euthanizing location. In the grooming department it's always such a gamble. I never get the same person for lack of open availability or they no longer work there. Recently I was confronted about an issue with an appointment for one of my dogs and REFUSED to take both of my dogs. Until I spoke to a manager we agreed that the other dog would at least have her service done. But once the manager left the girl that was supposed to take my dogs stalled and decided to answer the phone instead. I just wanna say if you don't feel like working or doing your job I'm sure you don't have to be there. I wish I could rate those that have done a good job the 5 stars but unfortunately the bad service outweighs the good. read more

For the past few months, I've had crappy experiences with certain groomers. I've gone to Petco and they are not comparable to this location. The best part about this pet store is it saves kittens that are about to be euthanized and takes care of them until they are adopted!!! Today they had so many from young kittens to 3yrs. + Every time I walk through the door I am immediately greeted. Everything is well displayed, neat and spacious. Their reptiles look like they are the wrong color and lethargic, I would be too cramped in the too tiny glass cage that is their current residence. It is located in a pretty busy shopping center so parking during lunch hours can be hectic. read more

Then she puts the fish back into the tank, when should have put it into a different tank because someone might want the fish later in the future. Went in today not really knowing what food to buy our family dog, she's been having issues lately and I wanted to get her food that might help her with her digestion. I have had only great experiences here. I have brought all three of my dogs here to be groomed and they always look great. They are very tolerant of my hyper lab puppy and enjoy his enthusiasm. They never seem upset about such a crazy dog. They are gentle with my old papillon & are careful of her heart condition. Alex, the trainer, is wonderful. He talks to everyone individually at the beginning and goes over any concerns or specific training. He gives great advice on thing that aren't covered in class. Thanks to Alex's extra advice, we potty trained the puppy in 2 days. My puppy just graduated & we will go back to Alex for the intermediate class. He is still hyper, but does all his commands very well. read more

Recently, my boyfriend and I were given a fishtank. We went to Petco to buy the gravel, and everything we needed to set it up. This is our first tank, so naturally we had a lot of questions. We spoke to two employees , and neither of them knew how to answer our questions. We decided to go to Petsmart when it was time to get our water tested. It was the best thing we could have done! The staff is wonderful! As first time fish tank owners we knew nothing. I read up on as much information as I could, but I still had a lot of questions. We walked over towards the fish and were met by an energetic, and extremely knowledgeable employee named Liz. She tested our water and let us know exactly what we needed to do. Beyond that, we were able to tell her the size of the tank, and the amount of fish we were looking for. She then walked us through all the different types of fish that would go well together in the tank. We decided on a community tank. We went back today and Liz was there again. She tested our water, helped us pick out some fish. Again, we were really impressed with her customer service and knowledge. Exceptional! This is definitely our go to pet store! read more

We get all our pet food from Petsmart. They have got a large variety of food to choose from and we enjoy visiting with the rescues on the weekends. The store is large and well laid out. Love seeing the dogs walking with their families and exploring the store. I try to wait for the sales cause they always discount the food, you just have to time it right. read more

Since we were going to the Albertsons by here we decided to make a quick stop here as well. The store itself is clean and stocked for the most part. Finding help isn't always so good, but I generally I know what I want and just run in. They don't carry the dog food we buy, but they do have the cat food and litter that we get, so that is usually why we come here. This is probably the worst customer service in the grooming department. We were running late and called, they said they would still take our dog. When we showed up they All had to chime in about us being late. We were asking the clerk at the counter a quick but everyone else kept butting into our conversation. One guy with long hair kept interrupting our conversation by telling us their policy even though we were just asking a question about how long it takes for grooming and he nicked the poor dog he was grooming cause he was so focused on our conversation. I am going to write this review about a situation I went through yesterday & how it was handled. First of all, I am a regular customer to this store. I have almost ALWAYS dealt with Montgomery {manager} when I go. He is always walking and working the store. I have never seen a manager at the forefront helping customers as much as him. Yesterday I called because I had a cage that was sitting in my room which I never used. I bought it as a replacement for my Chinchillas current cage & than decided against it because I didn't like the one he was in & this replacement was the same cage. So I called to ask if I could bring it back without a receipt because I didn't keep the receipt that long. The box had damage and even though they said it was Okay to bring it back I was ready for a fight. Instead, I go in, Talk to Montgomery and he set me up with not only a better cage, but bedding at 50% off & a cat urine cleaner that I needed for my mattress. He is always smart and helpful and knows what he's talking about. So thank you to Montgomery! Will always be back. read more

I came in thinking I will be able to leave home with some fishes for my children yet was not able to purchase any because the employee don't feel "comfortable" selling them to me. This PetSmart is not good. I went with my husband to pick up our dog and while we were waiting to check in, I heard another dog (looked like a maltipoo) making little noises. I don't know how much the groomer wanted to cut, the dogs hair was already short enough. As soon as the dog calmed down, I saw her yank out the knot the dog had! Who the hell yanks a knot!! I heard the dog cry, that was really upsetting to watch! It made me so angry I couldn't help but say things. And she just went on... really?! Makes me question if our dogs are in good hands! Just as I was adopting a sweet 8 yo girl cat, they could tell me all the updates since the previous Neaderthal era when I last "owned" (was responsible for) a cat. I got good mature cat kitty cat food. The best cat litter. Bowls. The cardboard scratch post (just a starter, but you'll need something) Dry catnip. The best of all? Years ago you used to have to send away for a "Hi my name is... Phone. Name." Here we did it literally in minutes. The expensive $10 not $1.50 collar I bought, the rhinestones all came out at 4 mths, just after warranty expires, and then it shifted sideways. Still looking for a quality fit. read more

This was the first time I could make a same day appointment to groom my dog. Other than that it was pretty much what you'd expect from a groomer. I did really enjoy his report card, though- the groomer was very nice and friendly. I got my mini schnauzer a cut, bath, and added a package that cleans their ears, clips nails, etc. It ran me $56, about usual I guess. Just the bath and cut costs $40. I deducted a star because I was told it would take 4 hours until I could pick up my pet, but it took longer. read more

I have two cats and shop here for all of their needs. The employees are very helpful, and their return/exchange policy (essential when dealing with cats) is very good. The deduction of a star is only because they sometimes don't have exactly what I need. Still, on top of the other items mentioned they also accept competitor coupons. One particular "favorite toy" I had looked for for weeks, and finally found here (it took a while to get it in, but out of 7 stores--PetSmart and otherwise--they are the only ones that got it. read more

WORST SERVICE! Let's begin with the fact that when I told them I don't want my dog trimmed they gave me dirty looks. Secondly they didn't let me see the person who was servicing my dog until I HAD to pick her up. My dog was supposed to get a basic grooming (ears, nails and trim) I told them I didn't want a trim because she's still a young dog and I wanted her to grow into her fur first. My dog had been then for an hour and I get a call from them to go pick her up because she was stressing out and had to have 3 of the groomers try and control her. 3 GROOMERS! Why would they think 3 is okay ? Especially on a puppy that's stressing out ? That is traumatizing my dog is what that is! Secondly, when I got there a dog was not-stop barking and they said it was because the other dog was stressed out. Why do you have an environment that stresses out dogs?! And then they blamed that barking-dog for stressing my dog out! Take ownership for that fact that you and your groomers stressed her out! Also, why in the world are you having tiny-90lb-18-year-old-Alexis service an 80lb puppy?!?! THAT MAKES NO SENSE! OF COURSE THINGS WENT OUT OF HAND! My dog has no behavioral issues but WILL when another dog won't stop barking(which my bad I forgot to tell them that because it rarely happens) or when 3 people come at her!! Why don't you have a panic corner in case dogs struggle with kennels? Or sit with her till she relaxes?! Doesn't customer service matter to you? I usually enjoy coming to this PetSmart but I had a bad experience with Grooming!!! They schedule me an appointment to bring in my dog for grooming. I explained she didn't have her Rabies shot at the moment so if I had to wait till she got it that would be fine, They said no it's ok bring her in. So I make the drive during heavy traffic and I get there and then they tell me they can't take her in because my dog hadn't gotten her rabies shot!!! I tell her I completely understand but that's exactly what I explained to you guys before making the appointment!!! She then just continued to stare at her computer not responding and I just left and told her I wouldn't be rescheduling!!! Bad experience and maybe just untrained employees!!!
