The grooming team is a joke! Dog has been at this location multiple times. Arrive at my appointment time only for the expert groomers to tell me my dogs tail is matted and would need to shave it to the skin. Asked if they could just bath and groom everything else besides the tail, response "no, it's has to be the tail or nothing and a additional cost"! All right "give me my dog". Groomers are rude and obnoxious. Not mentioning any names, clue... alternative name for a cat. Next day took my dog to Scenthound in HB. Mentioned nothing of mats on him and it was cheaper than Petsmart. In my experience is they kennel the dogs for 2 of the 3 hours before they start their service. You just lost 2 dogs and as I can see on the reviews a lot more. read more

The groomers are great with them, they never leave upset and I've never gotten complaints of them growling, biting, or scratching anyone. One of my favorite locations due to nice/helpful staff, clean grounds, and well organized aisles. read more

I've been disappointed by this store so many times and wonder why I go back. Now I know I won't be doing that. I needed to purchase some RX dog food and didn't see it on the shelf. I couldn't find a sales associate anywhere so I walked back to the cashier area where there was one person working. I waited for a break in his work, and asked if I could get some help back at the RX section. He asked if I had a card. What card? Apparently I needed one from the vets office there. I told him there was no one back there. He told me to go back and ring the bell. So I went back to the vets counter, and there was no bell. I knocked on the counter three or four times getting a little louder every time and finally someone came out. I told her that I needed some help with some prescription dog food but I didn't see it on the shelf. She said that she could not help me with that and that I needed to find a sales associate. I told her I went to the front and that the gentleman up there directed me to this counter. She repeated that she could not help me, and that I needed to come back once I had the dog food, but there was no point in her, giving me a card until we found out if they carry the food that I wanted. so now being annoyed, I went back to the front of the store, and this time I did not wait until there was a break in the work, and I asked the guy to please help me with this prescription food. He picked up the phone and called somebody in the office, who came out, and they proceeded to have a whispering conversation back and forth, which I could hear him telling her "I told her to go get a card". At that point, I said I can hear you, and I went back there and she directed me back here. Finally, the customer service person walked back with me and told me she was sure she had the food in the back. Why there was none on the floor I don't know. She found the food gave it to me. I went back to the vets counter, had to knock numerous times before the person came out, and then waited while she issued me a card. There was another customer waiting for her, but she took her time and he also became impatient. And then I went and checked out. What a nightmare experience. read more

This PetSmart isn't the closest location to our house but we go out of our way to come here because this store is clean, and the employees are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We go to the store at least once a week and everyone has come to know us and our pup Luca. We recently got a kitten, Luna, and everyone even asks about her. But most of all I would like to highlight their Professional Dog Trainer, Marissa. Don't let her young age fool or deter you, Marissa knows what she is doing. We are at the beginning of our 3rd class with her and she has helped us understand how to better train our pup. I have seen her help other dogs that are really high energy, have anxiety issues, and even dogs that have slight aggression towards other dogs approaching them (but not anymore with Marissa's help). Not only do I recommend that all dog owners do training, no matter how well behaved your pup is on their own, I highly recommend that you do your training with Marissa. read more

However, there is nothing that would make me drive 10 miles to this petsmart. My husband and I have been coming to this Petsmart for a while now. Everyone at this location is ultra friendly and helpful as well as everyone in the grooming department. When we got a new dobie pup we knew we had to look into some training. After hearing that Petsmart offered it, we decided to sign her up! Marissa is fantastic. She was super patient and understanding when we had to reschedule on more than one occasion. Marissa is an awesome trainer and great with the pups and offers great advice on how to overcome common puppy obstacles. Miss B has graduated her Beginner and Intermediate classes and will soon start her Advanced classes. We won't take our pups anywhere else. read more

Do not take your pet to the veterinarian at Petsmart/Banfield but if you do, definitely do not get their "Wellness Plan". I took my dog in for annual teeth cleaning and within an hour the vet called me and said he had an ear infection and I approved the tests and treatment for that. 20 minutes later, he called back and identified me, and my dog by name and said two teeth needed extraction and I authorized $1,400 in treatment. 20 minutes later he called again and said that was a different dog and mine was fine. They had me authorize $1,400 for a dog that is not mine! When I picked up my dog, I said that I wanted to cancel my treatment plan and requested a full history print out that I can give to a new vet and they gave me two out of seven years. I asked for the other 5 years and called to cancel the plan as you can't do that in store. I called three times and each time it picked up, but there was no sound. The assistant tried from the store phone, and also couldn't get through and told me to email them. I asked for a manager and explained the situation but she had no response. I asked for a regional manager and she said she couldn't give me a phone number but gave me an email and admitted that she had never met her read more

I love this location and the one in Long Beach town center because the employees are not only amazing, but they all follow the current guidelines (more than likely its due to the company policy which I have a great respect for) but then there are some who go above and beyond to make people feel safe in their presence. I had an experience today with one of these employees, her name is Melanie and she made sure to wipe down the entire keypad, I saw her wipe down the area where I'd soon be laying my wallet and putting my hands on, it took no extra time (for those who chose speed over safety) because she jumped right on it as the customer Before me walked away and I was walking up. I wish other companies would put the safety of its employees and customers above the fear of those few and that there were Melanie's at every store I shop at. I will say this, the places who do follow guidelines, who chose to protect the majority, who do what Is right and prove it to their customers...we'll be the places I know myself, my family, friends and even coworkers have all agreed we'll continue supporting after all is finally said and done!!!! We recently got a puppy and we were having issues finding a food our puppy would eat. We went there to explore the options and the dog training girl was there. She helped us, and we did find a food with her help, but she talked us into this puppy package for $20. The ONLY 2 reasons we bought it was for the food coupon and free pet grooming coupon. Yesterday we decided to cash in on the grooming. We have a Cavachon, which is a poodle mix. I will NEVER take my dog back there for grooming!! NEVER! They butchered my poor baby. They shaved all the hair off the top of his snout down to the skin and left him with a funky looking helmet head. The hair on his body didn't look like it was cut at all, just brushed. And his nails are still lethal. I was so pissed. We picked him up and all I could say is " What the F$&! did you do to my dog!" Lesson learned! DO NOT LET THE GROOM YOUR DOG!... read more

Got up really early this morning for this PetSmart's grand opening. The first 50 people in line snagged gift cards with amounts varying from $5-$50. I made off with a $50 card in the morning and won a $25 card at the afternoon drawing - I think I'm gonna be good on pet food for a while! Tucked in a back corner at the Shops at Rossmoor, this location is a little bit smaller than other PetSmarts I've been to, but the store layout is pretty efficient: dog items and grooming services to the right side of the entrance, cat and bird stuff to the left, reptiles and fish at the rear wall. I had Dinner the Dog with me and made good use of the cleaning stations scattered throughout the store. There's plenty of parking, especially towards the left side of the building. With the exception of one employee's attitude in the morning line, service was excellent and attentive. read more

It may just be the time of day I'm coming in, but store associates are scarce to be found and not particularly friendly (except for the cashier I always get, who is very sweet.) The store is also fairly small by comparison to other PetSmarts I've been to. Additionally, you must request live mealworms/wax worms from an associate; you can't pick and choose your own tubs, which is a bit of a bummer, because sometimes the worms aren't as fresh (read: they pupate quickly.) Still, the options here for other pets are about what I expect for most PetSmarts, so it's alright by me. read more

I had no idea what food or litter to get my new kitten, and she was so informative! She even told me about the products she's used for her cats and the ones that work best for her. I was in a rush, so I wasn't able to speak to a manager directly about how amazing she was. So frustrated with the grooming department at this Petsmart! The policy changes depending on who answers the phone. Just spoke with Noelle the grooming manager to make an express wash appointment for my small spaniel who has been groomed there several times. Now, all of a sudden they no longer will make an express appointment for her on a Saturday. She says this service is only available Mon.-Thurs. I explained to Noelle that I work all week and Saturday is the only time I can drop her off in the morning and was willing to take the next available Saturday. My little spaniel is 14 yrs old and needs the express wash as she gets very anxious when kenneled. She was so rude on the phone and said thats just the way it is. Wow! So disappointing. The last time I took Lucy here we didn't have our normal groomer, Michael. I guess Michael moved on to somewhere better. Lucy's cut was uneven, her eyes weren't clean, paws weren't touched and she didn't even smell like she'd just had a bath. I was very disappointed. For some reason I decided to give them another chance. Bad decision. Took Lucy in for her appointment and they informed me that the groomer wasn't feeling well and didn't come in to work today. They said they left me a message and assumed I had heard it. As I stood there with my dog, the workers there did not offer another appointment for today and instead asked if I would like to go to the petsmart off the 91 freeway...um....no! First time shame on you, second time shame on me. I will never go back. I took Lucy to another groomers called Bow Wow and loved it. read more

The grooming department called and asked for my dog early because they had a groomer call out and when I couldn't make it they refused to honor the appointment. The supervisor, Jake, at the time was rude and unwilling to work with me to have my dogs seen before the holiday. My fiance and I stumbled upon this location when they first opened and continued to come for our furry friends' needs. Both our dogs, Milo and Kobe, have taken training courses at this location and we are so thankful that we were able to work with Michael. He is extremely knowledgable, patient and accommodating. Our dogs love him and we are so happy with the results! After completing training courses, we continue to bring both dogs to the grooming department because they are great with them. Milo loves Mike and always leaves looking and smelling great. Michael (another friendly groomer) is extremely great with Kobe! We use to have to bring him to a Petsmart location in Corona when we were in the area because the groomers there always gave him the perfect haircut and were awesome with handling him. Now that we don't go out to that area anymore, it is super convenient to be able to bring Kobe to Michael and trust that he won't have choppy layers. I had a good shopping experience at this location as I was trying to find the appropriate food for my dog. I had visited the vets numerous times and they couldn't seem to identify the problem. Finally they encouraged me to purchase prescription food but it was a bit expensive so I wanted to explore my options. I was greeted by an associate who was very knowledgeable and recommended the brand Nulo. The associate (I can't recall her name) was friendly, approachable, and extremely knowledgeable. I was so pleased with her service, I called the manager to give her a good rapport in which I discovered she was a Nulo rep. I have a miniature poodle and have just moved to Seal Beach. Prior to that time I took him for grooming to several places, all of whom said he was a dream to groom, and very well behaved. Since my move, I have taken him to PetSmart in Seal Beach several times. The last time, a man groomer nicked his tail and behind his ear, which bled a lot. He was very unpleasant when I picked my dog up, probably trying to let me know the dog was bad and that was why he was nicked. I have a particular prescription dog food I was looking for and they had it. But it was not prescription here, or maybe a different segment of the brand. Anyway, my doggies love it. Ok, I was having some trouble deciding if one of my dogs wore a small or a medium collar. I had not measured her and she was not shopping with me. This review is just for the grooming salon. Called about prices for my dog, a short haired chihuahua, they said it was $16.99, which was a steal so I had to book an appointment. When I got there they asked if I wanted to upgrade, for $16 more get the special shampoo, and teeth brushing, a bandana and some other things. They were really nice and not pressuring. I upgraded since that ends up how much it normally costs without a teeth brushing anyway, and I had planned on adding one on. They said it would take about 3 hours, but he was done in a little over 1. When I came to pick him up they had a little pamphlet assessing issues and what they did to fix them. I believe Shelby was the one who groomed my dog, and she was super sweet! I'm going to request her for next time!! read more

Unfortunately, I have made the decision to never return to this location. I have been considering it for awhile because of bad service, but now I am done. Hana is always the one who ends up grooming my dog and always seems to be rushing us out. Every single time I pick up my dog, the harness is on wrong and she claims she doesn't know how to do it. You have now seen this harness 4+ TIMES, shouldn't you have learned by now? The prices went up $3 for Fri-Sun (which I was never told and wouldn't have been if I hadn't looked at my receipt). I scheduled my dog on a Tuesday night because I'm a teacher and would like to save money where I can. The AC broke and I had to reschedule for the weekend, but was given a 25% discount (thank you!). Honestly, if the discount wasn't offered I would not have rescheduled at all. I have always loved Petsmart and was so happy when Seal Beach opened up, but I cannot except the service any longer. read more

I've always been a fan of Petsmart regardless of its location. They've seem to have set the standard in value/quality within its industry and has always met their customers needs. From the moment you walk through their doors, your greeted with a smile. Everything is clean and organized which makes finding that certain item quick and easy. I really enjoy the fish section the most because they always carry a large selection of quality and yet affordable tropical fish in very well maintained display aquariums.
