This review is just for the grooming salon. Called about prices for my dog, a short haired chihuahua, they said it was $16.99, which was a steal so I had to book an appointment. When I got there they asked if I wanted to upgrade, for $16 more get the special shampoo, and teeth brushing, a bandana and some other things. They were really nice and not pressuring. I upgraded since that ends up how much it normally costs without a teeth brushing anyway, and I had planned on adding one on. They said it would take about 3 hours, but he was done in a little over 1. When I came to pick him up they had a little pamphlet assessing issues and what they did to fix them. I believe Shelby was the one who groomed my dog, and she was super sweet! I'm going to request her for next time!! read more

Unfortunately, I have made the decision to never return to this location. I have been considering it for awhile because of bad service, but now I am done. Hana is always the one who ends up grooming my dog and always seems to be rushing us out. Every single time I pick up my dog, the harness is on wrong and she claims she doesn't know how to do it. You have now seen this harness 4+ TIMES, shouldn't you have learned by now? The prices went up $3 for Fri-Sun (which I was never told and wouldn't have been if I hadn't looked at my receipt). I scheduled my dog on a Tuesday night because I'm a teacher and would like to save money where I can. The AC broke and I had to reschedule for the weekend, but was given a 25% discount (thank you!). Honestly, if the discount wasn't offered I would not have rescheduled at all. I have always loved Petsmart and was so happy when Seal Beach opened up, but I cannot except the service any longer. read more

Very dissatisfied with grooming department. Grooming manager was downright rude during check in complaining that our dog, a bijou would require a lot of work. When I requested the estimated price, the grooming manager indicated that she doesn't have to state the price. I do not feel comfortable going back to this location again. read more

I've always been a fan of Petsmart regardless of its location. They've seem to have set the standard in value/quality within its industry and has always met their customers needs. From the moment you walk through their doors, your greeted with a smile. Everything is clean and organized which makes finding that certain item quick and easy. I really enjoy the fish section the most because they always carry a large selection of quality and yet affordable tropical fish in very well maintained display aquariums. The Petsmart staff are great, knowledgeable and friendly which makes every shopping experience worth coming back. read more

We love this Petsmart. Everyone is super helpful and friendly. We even signed up for training classes with Marissa and love seeing how much progress our little Luca has made throughout the weeks! Marissa is extremely knowledgeable and has great insight on how to work with your doggies individual behaviors! Plus it's just a fun hour learning and playing with your pup! Have been coming to this location since it opened. Plenty of parking along side the building and it is in a great shopping center. Groomers are busy but always friendly and our min-pin always comes out clean and shiny. read more

I have a black frenchie and brought him in about 2 years ago to get a grooming. I believe my dog got ringworm from this place. His poor skin suffered tremendously and had lots of bald spots all over his body. He still has missing patches of fur from the ringworm. I truly believe it was from this petsmart because we have used a grooming spot by our house for years without problem and then bring in to petsmart since its cheaper and all of a sudden he gets ringworm? Our vet explained to us it COULD have come from anywhere but definitely said this petsmart couldve definitely been the problem. Sooo with all that proper grammar being said, heres my msg. I took my little boy to the store to buy a goldfish so our goldfish can have a companion. The employee said we would need a 50 gallon fish. She would not sell us the gold fish because our 20 gallon tank is not big enough for 2 tiny goldfish. Also when I asked if it would be better to buy a 20 gallon fish tank or 20 gallon terrarium tank for one small water turtle she said it depends what turtle I buy. She said PetSmart only sell the tortoise and they need a 50 gallon tank. I said I don't want to buy a tortoise. I am thinking of getting a baby water turtle that's about 2 inch long. Then she said I need to buy my supply from where I will be getting the turtle to ensure it's the right size. But I insist it's just a water turtle and a 20 gallon tank should be fine. She wouldn't answer my question and insist I purchase a turtle from PetSmart and a 50 gallon tank. read more

I just witnessed a groomer handling a dog so badly that it was crying. The supervisors didn't seem to care after I complained about what was happening. Don't take your dogs for grooming to this location. Their excuse was that the dog was matted. Well if the groomer can't handle a matted 5lb yorkie dog then they have no business being a groomer! read more

Brought my little buddy in tonight because I needed a harness for him. I had bad luck with previous harnesses not fitting well. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by a young lady who offered to help and help she did. She took me over to the harnesses and recommended a great harness that was adjustable and fit well. I spent a little while looking at other harnesses. While I was looking, a young man offered to help and was kind to my dog. The young lady helped me at the register and I explained to her that my dog was shaking because he does not like to get groomed. Well, the young lady rang up my harness and while I was paying she asked if she could give my buddy some treats. I agreed and she made his day and made sure he had a positive experience. I'm sorry I didn't get her name but she is Cashier 709396. I'm so glad I didn't shop online. Great experience. Great employees. Thank you. read more

Dishonest practices. I booked a bath/ no grooming for my dog online, the price was $18.99 which was fine. When I picked her up they charged me $21.99. When I asked why the upcharge they said they charge more on the weekends! What? First, it did not say that on the online booking page anywhere, and second, when did Friday become the weekend? What difference does the day of the week make anyway? When I called them on it, they said "its just what the computer says" I call BS on that store and the manager who input that price hike data into the computer. This is a nice new clean store....however smaller then others, which means less product selection. Don't care for the 'manager' Patrick, he needs to develop some better customer service skills. I love the Petsmart in Seal Beach. The employees are always extremely nice, the groomers are accommodating to my oh so nervous pup and the vet staff is fantastically real. And best of all the other customers there are always complimenting Judge. "He is such a gorgeous boy!" Gotta love when I know I treat my boy well with grain free everything, no people food and fish oil. read more

I was just in this store and was planning on returning a cat litter box and liner bags since the bags didnt fit. The odd thing was the size of the liner bags indicated they were plenty big but they didnt fit. The cashier, Susan, was very helpful and went with me to find bigger bags. We opened a box each of two different brands before we found one that fit. I's say Susan went out of her way to help me get what I needed. Thanks Susan! read more

She claimed that she couldn't find the transaction through my PetPerks number. They should be able to look it up by the credit card number I used. GROOMING SALON ONLY. ONE BASIC FACT A PET PARENT HAS TO UNDERSTAND: You are responsible for your pet. If you have a long haired dog, that is clearly matted do to lack of care and you expect an unrealistic approach to a fancy haircut you are simply out of your mind. I bring my dog in for baths and it never fails. I always hear a customer with a matted dog asking for a trim. The associate kindly explains that due to the mats in the hair that will be impossible and the only solution will be to shave the dog. The customer takes the news hard and asks to do everything possible to save the hair. After being told by the associate that over combing the pet, the skin will become irritated and is not recommended. Pet owner insists and later complains about an extra fee for the EXTRA TIME and care the dog will need. ITS COMMON SENSE. Brush your dog regularly and take care of its hair if you want a nice haircut. I never have any problems with my dog, and he comes out looking pretty. Everyone is nice and I always have an easy transaction, because I take expert advice and don't have unrealistic, common-senseless expectations. P.S. every dog is "nice & friendly" its a dog, if it doesn't like loud noises and you know it will exposed to loud noises don't be so shocked if your pet nips the associate out of stress or nerves and is later sent home. This review is for the grooming salon, specifically Shelby. We've never taken our dogs to big chain groomers before, they're usually very impersonal and do a very rushed job. But Shelby does an amazing job. Our dogs love her, she keeps them very calm and happy, especially for dogs who hate being groomed, and they always come home looking amazing. She uses that ferminator thing on our girl dog, who sheds like nobodies business, and it's a miracle! The salon is very clean and looks very well organized. Highly recommend bringing your animals in here and asking for Shelby! read more

I love this place! I recently took my puppy in for his first grooming. First I called to see what packages they had, the groomer that answered the phone i think her name was Ashley, was super nice and helpful. They were able to give me an appointment same day. My puppy was a little scared at first but he warmed right up to the groomer and he left smelling amazing! I will be coming here from now on!!! read more

First time going to this petsmart, and thought the experience was pretty good. Had to return some fish food bought at another establishment of there's and it went pretty smooth. Cashier didn't have much personality, but 9/10 places don't. Besides that, store was very neat and organized. I liked it, closest one to me; so happy am I. They also had some aquarium plants I have been looking for. Aquarium Lady was nice enough though. Either way I'll be back. read more

I had the horrible experience of going to your Seal Beach office. I have just adopted a rescue puppy and specially asked if Banfield does FREE first time visits. I was told YES....and had an appt at in the morning...when I explained I had two dogs, should I bring both..YOUR accounts manage said I could. I asked if they were BOTH free visits , she stated we can do that both but at a later time...I asked if they would both be FREE visits and was asked if either pet had been to the facility before..I said no we are NEW and she said we can do "that". WELL after arriving at my appt time (no one acknowledge I was there- true one was on the phone and the other one (accounts manager) on the computer...a simple nod of the head or an "I'll be with you in one minute" would have been nice. I was brought back to the examination room and was now hit with the sales pitch! OH only over $1,000 for wellness packages..but it's NOT insurance. I stated I was not interested at this time. I have just lost a dog and have a $3600. vet bill for him. AND being a teacher with no pay for two months in the summer, it's not possible....the sales pitch continued...I had to watch a video and now about 20 minutes later,the doctor came in. The puppy was being treated for Kennel cough at the shelter and she is sneezing and coughing still, the VET said to just let it run it's course....I am going to another VET today because she continues to get worse. AFTER listening to the LONG list of recommendations I was told my bill was $180. HOW did my FREE visit get to be $180. and I was being charged for the visit. I was DONE...I can't trust a place who lies. THAT's when I waited around some more to pay the bill for the visits....I guess I should have just walked out, but that is not my nature. The "accounts manager" who was the SAME person I had spoken to on the phone told me I MISUNDERSTOOD. She said she explained it was one free person customer NOT per dog. I said....nice play on words....her rude reply with attitude was ..Yes,,,it's semantics. After paying the bill she continued with a sickening sweet voice...Have a wonderful day. I hope someone in your business is professional and will call her on the carpet. I would also like a refund from my awful experience. read more
