I went to this store to rent a Bissell carpet cleaner. Check out 2 machines and both were filthy. Not rinsed...not cleaned. To bad for you if you dont want to potentially bring home bed bug or cockroach eggs. Shame on pet smart for renting them out filthy like that. Go to Ace hardware. read more

Although I love supporting smaller businesses, I am a regular Petsmart shopper. Petperks truly does come with plenty of perks so I highly recommend signing up. My most recent score was a free 4 LB bag of dog food that I usually purchase for $24. Awesome! Every once in a while I'll get an email with a coupon and that's the best time to stock up on treats and dry food for my pooch. We usually come shop every other month and it's a lot of fun for both of us because the store is spacious, clean, and organized. Cinnamon rides in the shopping cart as we go from aisle to aisle picking up our usuals and seeing what we can find to try out. Stopping at Petsmart is one of my favorite errands for sure. :) The staff is so friendly and helpful. They are informative and definitely try to give you the best advice regarding any questions you may have on a new pet, food brands, or even behavior and hygiene. One member helped me find a new brand of dental treats that Cinn ended up loving, which I am super grateful for because she can be pretty picky. Not only that, but if there's ever more than 2 or 3 people in line they're quick to open up a second register to get everyone taken care of. This is a great location. I came here for the first time and I'm a bit confused with the curbside pick up. I had an appointment for grooming. Online it stated that that was in place for grooming. To check in and call when I arrived. I did that and the person stated that when my groomer was ready she's come and get my dog. The groomer then came out of the store and waved me down so I can take the dog to her. I was like wait! So she doesn't come and get my dog?? I took my dog and asked about that. She said I still had to go inside anyway. Then why have this in place? She said oh yeah and when we're done I'll call you and you can knock on the door and pick up your dog. I don't mind doing that, but get it together! I did like my dogs cut! She did a good job, she just left a few areas with long hair though. read more

Extremely disappointed with their grooming department. First of all they need some male groomers back there. Picked up my dog he was full of nicks and bruises. I requested a Particular person to groom my pet so that to make it comfortable for my dog. Well on this particular day the person was not available to service my dog and handed him off to the manager. My theory is that that manger was bothered by my reluctance to have her service my dog because I was use to the other persons work. So pissed that I gave in and left my puppy to be groomed by the manager. I get the impression that she took her aggravations out in my puppy. Long Beach is Pet central therefore customers don't have to be at the mercy of a neighborhood PetSmart. Time to start supporting small business for dog grooming instead of theses blockbuster stores like PetSmart. I've been coming to this PetSmart location for a while now. I trusted the groomers and other personnel fully with my dog. However, today I was treated with the most disrespect ever. The groomer, Yvette, was rude, unprofessional and disrespectful to me and my pet. Instead of grooming my dog, I was offered to take my pet home. She accused me of being late for my appointment (that was made same day). She insisted she called me yesterday to confirm the appointment. How is that possible? The appointment was made this morning. This is geared towards the dog training- however the store staff is SO nice and polite. My 7-month-old Shiba Inu, Eddie, is such a well-behaved boy because of Lori Near's pet training abilities. Everyone he comes in contact with is amazed by how great he is, especially for his breed and for being such a young puppy still. We started training with Lori the day he turned 10 weeks old and completed puppy and intermediate training after. Not a single regret making this decision because we will take these manners and tricks everywhere we go from here on out! If you're on the fence about dog training, here is your sign to DO IT. We've even been able to fly across the country with him without any problems! Thank you Lori, for teaching my dog to be such a good boy and for teaching us how to be better owners! She was so gentle with our animals while being clear and assertive to us owners on what we needed to work on and awesome tips on how to work on them. With her help, we were able to practice what we learned in class at home and all throughout the week. She is seriously a dog expert and I'm so grateful for this bonding experience we got to share with our new pup. Training is a two-way street- mainly for the dogs but for us humans too haha!! This review is for the grooming services. This is our second visit trying out PetSmart. Other places are usually booked a few weeks out, so we love that both times there was availability for same day appointments! I wish I got the groomers name (blue hair) because she did an amazing job! This is by far one of our favorite cuts on our cocker spaniel mix, Remy. He is naturally very anxious but were told he did so well! Remy was the happiest boy on our way home after pick up. We can't get over how handsome he looks! Thank you! read more

I was the next person in line and waited a ridiculous amount of time watching her not do any work. So irritated. I finally went over to the next lane and she was like "I'm almost done" rudely. Warning***Warning***Protect Your Pet from PetSmart! This is the Worst grooming salon ever! For my grooming appointment at PetSmart, I clearly specified with Brooke (and called back in 10 minutes to confirm) that my dog Billie's beautiful fluffy hair would only be cut down at the most 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch, and not cut down to her skin. She only had a couple of small matted spots. When I picked up my dog, she looked like skin and bones with an ugly Cockapoo cut. Almost all of her hair is gone and she now has red raw spots at the joint of her front legs and behind both ears from being shaved too much. To think that I was made to wait four hours for this huge disservice! Poor little Billie was so traumatized, she was unable to calm down and kept trying to get out of the grooming salon. I don't blame her. My blood pressure was so high from being devastated, frustrated and upset that I was put on bed rest, in observation at the hospital because I passed out on the way to my car. Thank God for kind Good Samaritans who assisted me. To add insult to injury, I was grossly overcharged twice for Brush/Demat/Scissor 1 hour at $28.00, for a whopping total of $140.00, which is very unprofessional, unprecedented and unfair. Specifically, Brooke told me she had to charge me extra for the dematting. Usually with bath, grooming and dematting, I pay a total of $60- $72.00 at the most and add a tip. Why charge me so much money when all that was done was shave my dog nearly bald? Now she's ugly and trembles a lot because she has no hair to keep her warm. Apparently, the groomers are poorly skilled with regards to dematting hair. Furthermore, they won't release your dog until you pay, which is not the way a business should be run. First, you should see the services performed. Obviously, they know what a terrible disservice they offer by butchering customers' pets, no matter what customers requested. No support from the grooming manager sitting in front of me. Brooke should be fired for such unprofessional, terrible, inconsiderate service. I have Never before seen such disregard for consistency with corporate guidance and price statements given to pet parents before in my life. The PetSmart grooming staff should provide the correct service as requested, without changing standard prices on customers, instead of actively trying to rip customers off. Do not go to PetSmart. I have been coming to this location for years for my pet food, grooming and even some vet work. For the most part I have had a very positive experience! And for the most part everyone is very friendly and helpful. But yesterday, (being Sunday) I was very displeased with the service. I ordered something online for curbside pick up around 3pm. And I got an email notifying me that my order was ready, probably around 6pm. So arriving at petsmart at 6:40ish. I called for my items to be brought to me at curbside pickup. The girl asked my name and the car color, make and model. She said someone would bring it out shortly. So I waited... and waited.. and waited... 20 minutes later it was 7pm. (Closing time) and I still hadn't got my curbside pickup order.... To make it worse, there were other cars parked near me that got there after me and got their pick up order! But not me.... And I tried calling but no one would pick up. Then, a few minutes later I saw people locking up and leaving the store.... I sat there amazed... that they had forgotten my order.. and I sat there waiting for more than 20 minutes..... I am completely respectful to closing times and realize that no one wants to stay past their shift... but I called and arrived with 20 minutes to spare before closing... and no one brought me my order... and others got their order before mine..... I have loved this location for many years... but this has truly left me dissatisfied with this location.... I just came tonight, (the next day) to pick up my order and no one forgot my order tonight... but I still felt it important to share my feedback on what happened yesterday, in the case that other people have experienced the same and aren't providing the same feedback. read more

Mariana! You are the real MVP girl! We appreciate you so much. Mari is why we get our pup groomed here, others have groomed him here and we've never had a bad experience with any of them but when you talk about going above and beyond this is your girl! Our little Teddy is getting older and more fragile and he gets little bumps and cysts and has a bad back, and I know that when Mari has him he's gonna be treated with care and be treated gently. When we bring him in she comes and grabs him saying "hi!! Teddy bear" and she's so sweet on him. She takes the time to talk to me about her pups also having cysts and about how she deals with it, when I take him at night and I'm fairly certain he's her last appointment she still takes the time to discuss how he did etc etc not just rush off so that she can get home to her own pups. We've taken him in after swimming and camping and road tripping and when he's just a total mess and she never complains and always does the same quality job no matter what shape he comes in as. Loving your pup like a family member means having a groomer like this is super important! We feel so grateful that Teddy has Mari to go to and it gives us so much peace of mind knowing he's in thoughtful hands. Thank you a million times Mariana you are truly the best and Teddy says thanks! Also, Teddy does not prefer a traditional "poodle cut" and she does the buzz cut that he likes no questions asked. Have taken him to other places before and no matter what we say they give him a poodle cut, so we appreciate that she follows what Teddy wants perfectly. There really should be separate reviews for each service/entity this PetSmart provides (grooming, adoption, and general pet supply shopping). My review is for general pet supply shopping experiences. I've gone to this location MANY times in the last month due to recently acquiring a rescue kitten. Every single time I've been here has been such a positive experience. As a new cat dad, I was struggling as to where my pet supply buying loyalty should lie between PetSmart and Petco. My experiences here sealed the deal for sure. The staff here seem like they genuinely care, and are knowledgeable to a point (you can't expect an employee to know every single thing there is to know about every pet possibility ever, but they have advised me based on customer trends in regards to products/returns, etc). Whenever I'd try out Petco, I felt like the staff there were trained to be salespeople versus PetSmart staff's genuine ability to assist me shop. PetSmart Treats loyalty program also offers better deals than Petco Pals loyalty program. I also feel that the staff here have actual power and ability to make a customer service experience great - they have override ability to correct pricing mistakes, honoring deals and pricematching, etc. This says a lot about PetSmart as a large chain and their management, versus others where the staff member would simply say "the computer wont let me..." or "the manager says we can't do that..." It is unfortunate that the grooming department doesn't seem to be recommended though, bringing the overall rating for this location down, but for pet supplies shopping and the general staff/customer experience, I've only had positive experiences. read more

I ordered something online via my phone and came in after an hour just to see if the item was ready since I was out and about running errands. A female sales associate said that orders usually take between 2 to 3 hours but that she would pick it for me right away. Turns out they had me waiting for 30 minutes and I didn't hear any word so I just left. The item didn't end up getting picked until almost 3 hours after the order time. If they had just simply said that there was a queue And they were short staffed and I could really just come back when the order was ready that would've been perfectly fine. But promising something and completely ignoring it and not following through it's just really bad customer service. read more

I've always been so iffy about leaving my dog for 4 hours to be groomed, but I know when he is with her, he is taken care of. She really cares about the dogs. This PetSmart location is big, clean and organized. I came here on 03/28/21 around 7:30 p.m. to buy dog food. It was quick and easy to find the food I needed but there wasn't much merchandise in there since I wanted to browse a little. My dog peed in the store and I was able to locate a pet cleaning station easily. Usually there is a spray and paper towels to clean but there was no spray so just used paper towels. They had two different hand sanitizers though but they both smelled really bad especially the foam one. There were markers on the ground so we were able to form a line and social distance for the cashier. There were two cashiers but we didn't see one of them so she had to call for us. She yelled out which lane she was at so that was nice. She was very nonchalant to us so the service felt lukewarm. Overall: It wasn't the best customer service I've had at PetSmart. We live in Seal Beach and travel over here because Rozanne takes such great care of us and our cat. He is a Savannah and many places charge more or won't even accept him, but she does a great job with him and is happy to see him most times that we come in. Lol. Rozanne is an asset to this location and company as a whole. As for the store, it is huge and a large variety of everything needed to take care of your pet, regardless of species. Vanessa is the sweetest cashier!! During Covid people have been more hostile and less patient in general. I saw Vanessa greet each customer and help 3 people in front of me with the sweetest, caring tone. Masks prevent smiles from showing so her tone helped create a great customer experience. She was also very knowledgeable about the services and products available. She had answers to every question people had. I also called and spoke to the manager Victoria and she was very kind as well. Besides the great customer service this location always has what I need. I drive past at least 5 pet stores to get to this one out of my way because I know they will have what I need. I really like this Petsmart. The staff have always been helpful and I've had no issues here. I have not used any of the grooming services here, just regular shopping. If my dog is with me she is always given a treat and I am always asked if it is ok before they do so which I appreciate. I love checking out the clearance toys (towards the back of the store) because my dog chews through everything so it's great to get a deal on something she will destroy relatively fast. The items I need are always in stock and I love the Buy 1 get 1 half off deal on the toys! read more

So I've taken my dog to ONLY this salon since I've been living in Cali. Not super impressed by the services but the work is decent and it's a chain location (we used a NY location prior to moving). This visit will be my last and i'll be using a local small business from now on. First sign is he acts deathly afraid of being left there when I go to drop him off. You can even see tears in his eyes. I brushed it off as separation anxiety. So now I'm realizing it's not the anxiety of leaving me it's the anxiety of staying with them. The last two times I brought my dog here he would not let them grind or cut his nails. This time they said he was so nervous that he hollered, peed and pooped all over the place. She then went on to say whomever did his nails last must have traumatized him. I politely stated that this would have been the last place that cut his nails. She didn't respond to my statement. Ok - well she just outed her own team because if that statement is true then this is the place that made him so fearful. With no proof i just paid and left and noted that I will not return. Before getting home i passed by a local grooming location and popped in to see if he can get his nails done. I explained to them he might be apprehensive and told him the story of the last two attempts. He came back a few minutes later with his nails done - no problem. Very interesting..... So now with him being petrified when I drop him off. He not allowing Petsmart to do his nails and having no problems letting the other groomers do them. And lastly with the Petsmart worker stating someone must have traumatized him - I can only come to one conclusion! IT WAS PETSMART AT SIGNAL HILL that traumatized my dog! Never again will we go to ANY PETSMART location. I'm just sorry that i didn't pick up on my baby's fears sooner. read more

I needed help finding a certain cat food. I asked a petsmart employee. She said all the cat food is to the left. I told her that I needed help finding a certain one, then she said all of the food is to the left again. Then I complained to the cashier. The cashier said, "I wasn't there, I don't know what happened". Which is very rude, because I just told her what happened. No one addressed my issue. In regards to the grooming department - the service I received was outstanding. I have a young puppy who gets nervous at the vet, but Jen and Kyra have always made sure she feels comfortable and looks/smells amazing when she leaves. I've visited other Petsmarts in the area and while very friendly, they wouldn't accept her for the grooming appointments due to her anxiousness and upbeat personality. I will exclusively be bringing her here for future appointments and thank this store and excellent staff for taking such great care of myself and my pup. read more
