Only came in here for a few short minutes but found everything I needed (and then some) within minutes. Spent $13 and got 2 rib bones, 1 meat chew, and a stuffed xmas squeaky? Hell yeah! My dog was SPOILED on xmas day

PetSmart in Newbury Park is super nice. I was greeted by a friendly cashier "Brady". Store was immaculate with great lighting. Well stocked and colorful. There were no lines and the workers were busy stocking or cleaning the store. I bought a cute little vest for my puppy. It was really expensive $26 which was the only disappointing thing about my PetCo experience. Prices should be more reasonable and then perhaps more customers will shop at this location for all of their pet needs B++

Horrible groomers! Took my dog in for a haircut with "Journey" and she chopped off her dew claw. She ended up taking her to the vet next door because she was bleeding a lot, and my poor dog was sedated to remove what was let of her toe. Dog had to wear a cone for two weeks, and my poor dog was not herself for days. Worst part was I never even received an apology! Only a don't worry pet smart is covering the bill. Had I received a sincere apology it would have helped. I will say this review does NOT apply to the vets at Banfield they were great!

We used to like coming into PetSmart to get our Corgi groomed, until we came in today. Today, our groomer Kendra completely butchered our corgis coat. She had asked if his usual cut was fine, I said yet but noted that we were moving to Washington where it's significantly colder and maybe we should go longer. She brought out the length examples but noted it should probably be fine as is. I said sure. 2 hours later I get a call asking how often we get his hair cut, I said every 2 months or so. She noted that it was "very uneven" so if it looks weird, it's because she's trying to even it up. We pick him up....and she had completely shaved his entire top coat. All of it. Likely she's new or maybe never dealt with a corgi or 2 coat dogs....but this was awful. The response from the manager? To offer a discount on the next service (never happening again) or a sweater. Even for what they were attempting to do, the cut was completely uneven and just bad. It's just bad. My recommendation is to just take your pet to a real groomer who knows what they're doing. I've attached the before and after, everyone can judge for themselves.

We had a grooming appointment for our cat but their employee named Olivia was so rude that we decided to get grooming somewhere else.

We took our two dogs there for a temperament evaluation since it was their first time and we were wanting to book them for a week in October. They took them back for maybe 3 MINUTES and came back out and said that one of our dogs was nervous (I'm sorry but duh) and that we needed to book "A LOT" of day visits so he would not be nervous anymore. It's odd because it's totally normal for any dog to be nervous the first time going somewhere which immediately threw up a red flag for me. Not to mention the lady was pretty rude about it when I was obviously confused as to how they would know his normal stress levels after 3 minutes upon getting there. I got weird vibes so I just said we can cancel it and no worries. She immediately snaps back and says something about me not being fair to our dog if I don't book daycare visits regularly and what am I even doing there if we already have a boarding place etc.(very strange behavior). Most places have you book a day visit so they can see how your dog adjusts the entire day which our dogs do totally fine. Our dog is 10 years old and doesn't have any underlying anxiety conditions and was never prescribed medication for that ever so this seemed odd. Just a bad vibe in general. Unfriendly staff and insufficient time to actually see how the dogs warm up to the place for the first time.

I could not get Stormy to walk on a leash, without choking herself. Because of this, she was under socialized. She was fearful of many things also. They ended up keeping her for 3 weeks. I had a couple "check in" one on one Training with her Trainer, Tiffany. At the first session, Stormy, was walking on leash in a "heel" position. Tiffany had also taught her "place", "stay" and "break" to release her from her "stay". Stormy was so much calmer when I brought her home. Before training, she would come in from the yard and jump over the back of the couch. If I was sitting on the couch, a few times, she landed on my head, on her way to the other side. She also jumped a lot. After coming home, she was calm inside and stopped jumping all over. It was a "joy" to take her on a walk and have her calmly maintain her "heel" position. She was much more enjoyable and was finally able to get out of"in the world"! This was entirely due to Tiffany's training. Tiffany was very good with her, very knowledgeable about dog behavior and cared for Stormy. She was professional, checked in with me to see how I was feeling about Stormy's behavior, gave helpful advice and answered any questions I had. In addition, I received daily photos of Stormy from Heather. That was awesome because I missed her and it was nice to get updates on Stormy's progress. Additionally, the Facility is very clean and everyone working there was very nice. Michael was very nice too. The groomer, Jacob, was nice and professional also. The Board and Train was expensive but after Tiffany gave me back a dog I could fully enjoy, I'd say it was worth it! Matan has a wonderful operation going there and I highly recommend them. My Veterinarian in Camarillo, gave me Matan's Card and said she'd gotten positive feedback on them. I also brought my "dog reactive", Dog, Bon Bon in for 3 week Board and Train. Tiffany, also trained her too! She did an amazing job with Bon Bon also. Bon Bon, was a challenging case for her because, of all things, she told me Bon Bon, could be a bit stubborn! LOL. Even though Bon Bon, was a completely different personality than Stormy, Bon Bon, was wonderful walking on leash when she returned. She's also not as reactive. I was even able to walk both of them together, which was a first and was also my original goal for training! My "pack walk"! Tiffany told me to wait to try to walk them together. There was no way I was getting out the door with just one! They both did remarkably well. At first Bon Bon wanted to walk ahead but I corrected her and she walked in a "heel" on my right side. I was finally able to get them both "heeling" on my left side, with Stormy closest to me. Yay! That's exactly what I wanted when I sent them both to "board and train". Finally, as a bonus, Bon Bon came home with "perfect weight"! It was all the extra work on Dog Pacer. Thank you to everyone at Matan Dog Training! You all made it a great experience for me!

I saw the excellent reviews on Yelp for this place so I decided to try it. Soooo happy I did. Before Lisa accepts your canine, she does an interview to see if your dog will get along with other dogs. Excellent idea! She gets detailed information regarding vaccinations/neuter/spay. Excellent idea! Lisa has two daycare locations close to each other (one for smaller dogs and one for larger dogs.) While Jax is only 28 pounds, he acts like he is a 75 pound big dog. Lisa felt it was best Jax joined the large dog club which was great! First day at daycare, I dropped off Jax and returned to my car tearing up a little bit. WHAT?! I guess dogs are your kids! Anywhooooo.......Jax loved it! He could not get enough of this place. Bob is in charge of the large dog club and he is absolutely awesome! Bob plays with them, takes short video clips and texts the videos to the parents. I would drop off Jax every morning and Bob could not open the door fast enough. Even when it rains, they have fixed up the garage just for the dogs. Outside, there is a pool, slide leading up to an enclosed trampoline, and a running area. It is truly a dog's paradise! Although we recently moved, we will ALWAYS remember Newbury Bark with Bob and Lisa! and of course Terri Jo! :) Thank you kindly for taking excellent care of Jax. I know Jax misses everyone! So if you are looking for an excellent doggie daycare/daycamp, look no further, try Newbury Bark. Fair and reasonable prices, very accommodating. I still watch the videos! :)

I had been going to Zoom Room for over 2 years and had experienced some different trainers, some of whom were good, some bad. Finally, there was some consistency with an excellent trainer, Cari, and so I purchased an annual membership. Over the past year I had worked with Cari, who was fantastic. She had an amazing talent for knowing what you and your dog could handle and needed and she prioritized safety and the overall experience. Unfortunately, Cari left recently, and I have to imagine the owner had something to do with it, as clearly this location is horrendously mismanaged. There was a period of time where there were no classes available, and we were never told why. Then randomly they announced "new management" and brought in a trainer who had been shadowing Cari for just a few weeks as the new Manager and solo trainer. I had briefly worked with this trainer and I was not very impressed with his training skills. I did not feel like I would be making progress with my dog any more at this location, so I contacted the owner Diego asking for a partial refund. He talked disrespectfully about his previous employees, ranted about me not giving people a try, and raised his voice, berating me about "what if you signed up for a membership at a yoga studio and your favorite instructor left" among other things. During this rant he also shared that the trainers they get are untrained and uncertified and they go through some basic training before coming on board which does NOT inspire confidence in the future of this location. I have NEVER been spoken to in such a disrespectful, aggressive way as a customer. This franchise is clearly not well run. While they might find gems of trainers like Cari from time to time, you might also get stuck with untrained people.. or possibly even NO instructors. As another review mentions, consistency in trainer is absolutely critical to progress with your dog, and while I understand there is some employee turnover expected over time, this location has experienced too much turnover to be acceptable. I truly did love my experience with Zoom Room while Cari was there but now I highly recommend you save your money. It's not worth spending that much money to potentially have to keep working with different, random, possibly untrained employees and be talked down to by the franchise owner who really needs to hone his business and customer service skills.

We spent over $1,000 hoping to improve our dogs' reactivity issues. We followed the homework that was given to us, stayed consistent, and while there was some minor progress, we eventually hit a wall. The BAH method is the foundation of their training approach, and while it might work for others, it just didn't lead to the results we needed unfortunately. What made it more disappointing for us is that even though the company offers lifetime support, it didn't feel like there was anything drastically new or helpful to move us forward after a certain point. Again, I commend for the trainer for trying his best and truly caring, but we hit a wall. We were basically told we were doing everything right, but the problem still wasn't getting better. This review isn't meant to discredit the trainer or the business. I'm sure he's helped many other clients successfully.
