Horrible customer service--- my wife and I were in the store for over an hour looking to buy golf shoes for both, a bag and beginning to look at a new set of irons for myself. Not once did an employee greet us or ask if we needed help with anything! Lots of bullshitting with each other at the practice tees however. More employees than customers at this point. It almost seemed as if all employees were avoiding us. On the way out one employee passed us in the opposite direction without as much as making eye contact. The guy working the register right by the door gave us the brush off as well. This shift was manned by incompetent ignorant pompous clowns. Might as well use that motivational wheel in the training room for fire starter. Need a training film how not to attract customers and make sales--- video a shift at Altamonte. Rude and not very intelligent. Judgmental which is funny because I'm a +4 handicap used to play on the Asian European tours. Sales person doesn't know how to read people. Was ready t o spend $850 for a driver but he couldn't sell it because of some asinine reason. Found the same driver set up on eBay for $650. I had the worst experience of my life there. I'm a scratch golfer and tried to test out some drivers. I was greeted by an employee that did not want me to use any clubs unless I was buying or a good golfer. I told him that's fine and needed a lower loft. He unwillingly set up the bay and then I hit a total of 3 shots and a couple were bad shots since I've never used a driver that different from my original and he immediately directed me to the sign that said "Lessons". As a customer trying to buy something from the store I think that behavior was nothing but disrespectful. To make matters worse. To make matters even worse he tried showing how to hit it better and leaned on the club and broke it and blamed me for my "bad shots". Will not be shopping from this location again. read more

Charles Moore is the MAN! Walked into the store on my birthday not expecting much...I just wanted a new set of clubs! As a beginner, I had some struggles with the indoor mats and hitting off of them. Charles, being the generous guy he was, ended up taking me over to the studio and fixing my swing and not letting me leave until my swing was corrected and looking proper! I was able to finally hit off the indoor mat and try out the clubs I wanted to! Without Charles, my birthday would have looked a lot differently....and those clubs I bought would have had been lying in the superstore still! I would recommend anyone to go to the PGA Superstore! Charles is who you want to see! This is a fitting like you've never had. Low pressure sales and all about you and your swing. The first thing he did was slow me down so I didn't tire out taking hundreds of swings. We worked things over for 2 hours and I probably hit about 40 shots. I needed a black golf shirt for work which is hard to find! It couldn't have any zippers or names or writing on it so I called first. Fred helped me over the phone so I then went in person to purchase. He was so friendly and helpful inside the store and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. And it was on sale at less than 50% of its original price. We had great conversation. The store is huge and gorgeous with a little golf course and other fun things to look at and enjoy. Went into this with the intent to purchase 3 Volkey wedges. Had my choices printed from the Volkey web site. When I arrived I wanted to confirm the loft on my Srixon wedge. Told staff that I was here to buy 3 wedges. No one offered to assist. Forget the fact that the assortment of Volkey wedges looked as if the had not been touched for weeks. A real mess. I went for a fitting to try and get more yardage from my Driver, Charles Moore the Studio fitter was exceptional in every way. I expected to come out with a new Driver$$ but Charles is so honest and helpful he analyzed my swing, tried some settings on the Ping 430. After many shots with my driver and the 430 he told me that my existing driver was fine and I just needed to adjust my swing a little to get the added distance. He did add some weight to the heel of my driver. All in all it was a super experience and I will go back again. I am an 81 year old male with some health problems. I went to this store on word of mouth from workplace co-workers and they were right about the enormous selection within the store I was truly taken a back by it. As great as the selection was, I found one of the staff members to be some what lacking in customer service skills, I wanted to learn how to swing a club since I never have done it before and yet, he blew me off. I am looking to get into a sport that is not cheap and to have someone do this is very disconcerting to say the least. So what did I do, I spent almost an hour and a half working on my putting skills and thinking on what kind of review I would write on my experience. I will visit the store again, however I will make sure I will not seek the help of that associate. If the treatment continues I will shop at a different store. *Update: I went back to the store 2 days later and I had a completely different experience. The staff were friendly and was eager to help this novice learn the game. I found them to be warm and they even let me try to hit some golf balls. That experience alone was enough for me to update this review. I wanted them (the store and staff) to have an honest shake after the first impression. read more

I think they must train their associates to ignore people. There's no other explanation for a half dozen of them standing around in the back of the store. I was looking around for 30 minutes, passed multiple associates, and not one of them said a word to me. If you're looking for guidance with a purchase, you'll need to go elsewhere. Another time I was in here and an associate told me to hit a 7 iron to loosen up. He went to find the 3 wood I was looking to hit. He never came back! I kept hitting and hitting the 7 iron until I was worn out and left. To this day, I wonder what happened to the guy. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews. This store was incredibly accommodating to me and my son. They helped us every step of the way and I did NOT feel pressured to buy something we didn't want (which is what I thought would happen). Unfortunately my son is left handed so we only left with a nice putter, some golf balls and a glove. They suggested we go online to their store and buy the lefty set. Come to find out they were sold out there too (but inventory is an issue everywhere so not their fault). I hope they will let me know when they come back in stock. My first trip to the Altamonte location was a mixed bag. Great store, tons of selection and prices were reasonable but wow does the support suck. I spent over an hour in there, trying out a variety of putters. In over an hour, the first conversation I had with a staff member was as I was checking out. The staff did spend a great deal of time talking with a guy who openly admitted he was going to order from somewhere else. When I saw they were opening a brand new PGA Superstore in my area, I was excited. Although specialty sporting goods haven't entirely been taken over by e-commerce sites yet, the choices have definitely been dwindling over the years. I have been in here a few times, and thought that the issues I had experienced were due to inexperienced staff and as time went on, these issues would soon be corrected. This weekend, however, took the cake, and I've taken it upon myself to keep you fine folks from experiencing the same disservice that I did. Before I get down to the bad, I will give them one pro over the immense amount of cons: their selection is second to none, but that is about all they have going for them. Here's the set-up: I am currently in the market for a new set of irons, and possibly a new driver. I'm tall, so I know i will have to have them custom-made but first a fitting would be in order. My Dad was at the house this weekend and we decided to go and check it out together. I had my eye on the Taylormade 790's as I had just played them in Orange County, CA and really liked how they felt. (TM 790's would have made for a great sale for anyone of the 15 employees they had on the clock when we came in, FYI). We arrived around 11:30 AM on 6/30/18, walked in, 4 employees behind the counter to our immediate right, not a single greeting. Granted, one was assisting a customer but the other 3 were not. Not a huge deal, but one would think that a simple "Hey" or "Welcome" would be commonplace in this day and age. We continue to the club wall, past the putting green, where three employees in blue shirts were casually putting and talking; still nothing. We walk down to the Taylormade wall, low and behold, we find the 790's and take a look. My Dad asked where the restroom was, I pointed him in the right direction, and continued to browse. PGA Superstore has a few simulator bays in the back of the store. One specifically labeled, "Instruction" and the others are typically fair game as with most golf stores. I walk down to the one that says "Taylormade" on it, mind you, walking past the three employees on the putting green, still nothing. I find the irons i would like to hit, all of them labeled "DEMO", so naturally I help myself, though the simulator is not refreshed and currently has about 15 other ball trajectory paths displayed. At this point, I am standing, facing the front of the store, looking to make eye-contact with an employee as to bring him over to where I am. I make eye-contact with the three on the putting green. Nothing. I make eye contact with one loner who is walking the aisles. Aha, winner I thought. He walked over towards me, I turned back towards the screen as to explain what I am asking for. I turned around toward his direction and he had walked over to another customer! You have got to be kidding me! My dad comes back from the restroom. About 10 minutes have passed at this point. I am appalled at this point. Here i am, Mr. Customer, cash in hand, ready to buy a set of quite pricey sticks and I can't get a simple "hi" or "hello". We hit into a sea of nothingness for about another 15 minutes and give up. I recalled a Golf Galaxy store right down the road and we decided to try our luck there. On our way out, we are finally approached by an employee. He says, "Anything I can help you with,"? I said, "Well, I didn't think anyone was on the clock. I waited over there for nearly 30 minutes with a few questions, ready to buy a set of 790's and no one said a word, so we'll go somewhere else,". He says, "That's hard to believe,". No recovery, nothing. With the PGA name on the sign, I am not going to get people from shopping here. I know that. But I hope that someone at the store with "Manager" on their nametag reads this review and thinks to himself about possibly retraining his employees. This is simply the wrong way to go about "customer service" if you can even call it that. Needless to say, we got in the car, drove 10 minutes up the road, and spent $1,700 with a friendly and attentive staff that was willing to spend the time, engage me as a consumer, and help me find the set that I was looking for. If you want to avoid the same abhorrent level of customer service that I experienced, I implore you to check out Golf Galaxy, just up Semoran Blvd. It is clear that customer service training was first on the list for their new hires. read more

Stopped by the store this morning to buy some spikes for my shoes. I asked a worker (Shaun) where they are at. Instead of pointing or telling me he said, follow me, I'll take you there. Generally in retail, clerks will point and say last isle in the right. Wanting to ensure I got the right one for my shoe, he removed the old one to ensure I bought the correct spike. I go to Altamonte store all the time. I love it When they have sales on clothing.... which seems like ever time I am there, I get great buys. Just started golfing and my pro said it was time to buy clubs. Went to this store this afternoon and the salesperson took me to the clubs, pulled down a box, and said "this is what you need". I said what about measuring me - he said no need. I said this only has 5? clubs for $450 and there was a sale for a bag with more clubs for $350 (approx prices). I asked what was the difference in the clubs/better materials/etc - he said "as you are just beginning it really doesn't matter what you buy - you can just attach a stapler to a stick and it would be the same". Needless to say, we left. We went to Dicks - bought clubs (after trying out 2 different sets in their practice area) - full explanation on the various clubs for sale and the pros/cons - bought balls / gloves / etc etc. Sure - I am a novice golfer - but if a quick $500 sale means nothing to them - I won't be going back. Need shoes/ clothes / more balls / better driver over time - I know I won't go to PGA where he made me feel like a fool who wasn't worth his time. read more

Like all PGA superstores, this place has a great selection and is well organized. But if you want help from the many people that work there, best of luck. They look at you and just keep talking among themselves. We waited 20 min to try to get someone to help us so we could hit some irons. Then left and went to Golf Galaxy, got great service and bought a set of irons. These stores make a huge investment and hire weak staff to essentially push people out the door.
