This is an old school restaurant that serves good food without the extra fluff. I ordered the broiled crab cakes which are nothing but lump crab with no filler& they were amazing. Hand battered onion rings/ not greasy & delicious and salad was served in the brown wooden bowls that reminded me of my childhood. If you want to sit and crack crabs or enjoy some homemade delicious fried chicken that's prepared in a cast iron frying pan then this is the place for you. I visit every time I visit OC. Much of Ocean City consists of giant food halls, and this is a unique spot because it's a charming little hole on the wall that feels very authentic and charming. This place was once great. Me and many of my families have been coming here for years. Once they tried to force me to buy a meal for my two years old who really not interested eating at that point, so me and my wife can have the all you can eat crabs was ridiculous .Management was so scared that my toddler might take a French fries from us and lose money... PGN Crab House is a great place to check out the steamed crabs with shrimp and oysters. Our server was very attentive to our table's needs and she followed up repeatedly on drinks, condiments, etc. throughout our visit. We also ordered the cheeseburger steak sub and the fried crab cake sandwich, with an extra side of French fries, which came out piping hot and both sandwiches were plated with lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and anything else we wanted on them. Went to visit mom in Maryland for a country music fest. No trip is ever complete without crabs. We went for the all you can eat and it was pretty dead in there because it was October. For 3 years now my family and I have been going to get all you can eat crabs at this restaurant. Today the taller man decided he was going to be extremely disrespectful towards my 80 year old grandmother. He explained the all you can eat was not available at this time and then rattled off the pricing per pound and size extremely fast. I have been in the food service industry for more than five years now and even I couldn't follow along with what he was saying. Then the man says are you ready to order or what because it's getting busy (I guess busy to him is a table of four walking in) all around just really bad customer service and they got the wrong one because my grandmother is a sweetheart who tips very well. My wife was craving some hard-shell steamed crabs, but we didn't want to commit to an all-you-can-eat special. Plus, I needed to find a spot that could accommodate my daughter's picky palate. We ended up at PGN Crab House, and it was a great choice! We went for a special they list on their menu called the 6-20-6: six clams, 20 steamed shrimp, and six hard-shell crabs for about $42--a pretty solid deal. One thing I really appreciated is that they allow substitutions; instead of clams, we swapped in a cup of their Maryland crab soup, which was delicious. My wife enjoyed the crabs, I had the shrimp and soup, and my daughter ordered a cheeseburger with a side of fries. We also got an order of onion rings and hush puppies, and everything was hot, fresh, and tasty. Of course, the crabs weren't jumbos, but they were meaty and perfectly cooked. The shrimp were on the smaller side, but combined with the soup and sides, it was plenty for a meal. They also have two beers on tap, reasonably priced, which was a nice bonus. My wife and I were refused service at this restaurant because she was wearing a crop top. The person who refused service to us was an older woman who all of the employees seemed afraid of (they apologized on her behalf). We didn't look "nice enough" and she commented (after misgendering my wife) about her "belly hanging out in the back" (??). It's unfortunate, we wanted very badly to enjoy this place after seeing the reviews, but her attitude and behavior was abhorrent. UPDATE: My wife changed into a dress to see if that was "nice enough" for the restaurant, we went back in, and one of the staff led us to a table saying we would get the "VIP treatment." We asked if we would get an apology from her, he said no and made excuses on her behalf saying she's not going to change her ways because she's "an old Greek woman." No apology (except from the staff of women who were genuinely horrified by the older woman's behavior). We left and went to Higgins instead, which was a MUCH better experience. read more

Let me start by saying, everything we ordered was excellent. Last summer we tried a few different crab houses and were disappointed, so we returned to PGN, and left happy. I'll never go astray again. We had the sweetest server who was attentive, quick and efficient. The restaurant has several options for dining, outside seating, indoor seating and takeout. The prices are reasonable, and portions are large. My husband and I could have shared the crab cake dinner as we both brought home one crab cake. These crabs are the best in town. We come to this place every year and get the all you can eat special. What disappointed me and quite frankly made us mad is my brother did NOT get the all you can eat special, he got a burger. The rest of us (6 people) were still eating when he was finished, so he went to get some ice cream. He was eating the ice cream at our table and was told he could not eat his ice cream in the establishment. I do not see a valid reason for this rule. He was forced to go outside and finish his ice cream alone, rather than with his family. Love this place, but they need to loosen up. I mean really? I ordered a dozen XL crabs and had to fight to get TWO small containers of butter and vinegar. AFTER leaving a 25% tip on carry out .... Oh and their thin, flimsy crab paper is $1 lol.. Today I gave them another chance and was told only one butter and one vinegar is included and the additional are $1.50 EACH. No thanks. We had to get some Atlantic seafood , and hey Maryland is for crabs right? We took a detour from DC to Wilmington DE and hit Ocean City for lunch. This spot was recommended by a local to us and we are happy we landed here. We got here at about 2 and I was surprised that they had a nice crowd of guests given the time of day. The seafood was great, and we had walked the boardwalk a couple miles prior to work off the perfectly fried nature of this lunch. Everything tasted fresh and me not being a big fish eater was surprised at how delish the flounder was on my Hubby's platter. A couple call outs... Our hosts were super friendly, and the bathrooms were clean! Apparently this establishment is family owned. The table next to us drew in our attention as the older gentleman was wearing an Arizona sweatshirt... come to find out they were visiting from Tucson (like us) and come here when they visit OC. read more

Don't expect anything fancy in this restaurant, just great friendly service and perfectly steamed Snow Crabs. $33/lb, little more than I expected this year (was seeing alot of others around $25/lb), but purchased 5 lbs and we ate every single piece. The experience here was 'meh'. I have never been to a restaurant where they tell you so many things they can't do. First 2 people wanted the all you can eat blue crabs, while 2 didn't. We were told that we can't do that and that if 1 person wants 'all you can eat' we all have to get it at $45 a piece or we can't have it. The price was fine, however as mentioned 2 people didn't want that deal, especially as one person doesn't eat blue crabs. We all decided to choose something else. For this review I have a picture of the crab cakes, now one is fried and one is broiled. It didn't come like that, although 1 person asked if they could have it like that, again we were told we can't. So 2 people had to switch a crab cake each because they didn't want to make it. 2 people asked for ginger ale, we were told we can't have that as they didn't sell it. 1 person asked for a substitute of one seafood item as they didn't eat that particular item, they were told the can't substitute at all, even though they were willing to pay for it. Lastly we asked if we can split the check, not into four but into couples, so 2 checks. AGAIN we were told we can't, they don't do that! It just wasn't very customer friendly at all. They def need to revamp some things and stop telling the paying customers the long list of things they can't do, that other up to date restaurants do! read more
