PGN Crab House is a great place to check out the steamed crabs with shrimp and oysters. Our server was very attentive to our table's needs and she followed up repeatedly on drinks, condiments, etc. throughout our visit. We also ordered the cheeseburger steak sub and the fried crab cake sandwich, with an extra side of French fries, which came out piping hot and both sandwiches were plated with lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and anything else we wanted on them. All in all, a great visit and great service in a friendly atmosphere. We highly recommend it if you are near 29th street and are looking for steam crabs, shrimp and oysters.

Crabs came out hot and juicy!!!! We came in a little late and the staff was so accommodating! Looks like a usual crab house. The outside is not as updated but do not let look deceive you. Amazing crabs and service!

My wife and I were refused service at this restaurant because she was wearing a crop top. The person who refused service to us was an older woman who all of the employees seemed afraid of (they apologized on her behalf). We didn't look "nice enough" and she commented (after misgendering my wife) about her "belly hanging out in the back" (??). It's unfortunate, we wanted very badly to enjoy this place after seeing the reviews, but her attitude and behavior was abhorrent. UPDATE: My wife changed into a dress to see if that was "nice enough" for the restaurant, we went back in, and one of the staff led us to a table saying we would get the "VIP treatment." We asked if we would get an apology from her, he said no and made excuses on her behalf saying she's not going to change her ways because she's "an old Greek woman." No apology (except from the staff of women who were genuinely horrified by the older woman's behavior). We left and went to Higgins instead, which was a MUCH better experience.

Let me start by saying, everything we ordered was excellent. Last summer we tried a few different crab houses and were disappointed, so we returned to PGN, and left happy. I'll never go astray again. We had the sweetest server who was attentive, quick and efficient. The restaurant has several options for dining, outside seating, indoor seating and takeout. The prices are reasonable, and portions are large. My husband and I could have shared the crab cake dinner as we both brought home one crab cake. We shared an order of steamed shrimp and we were extremely pleased with everything we ate. This place is a keeper.

Nice little restaurant that sells delicious seafood. The sandwich, corn, and seafood plate were all great! The waitress was good enough and the seats were comfortable. Price was ok.

We had to get some Atlantic seafood , and hey Maryland is for crabs right? We took a detour from DC to Wilmington DE and hit Ocean City for lunch. This spot was recommended by a local to us and we are happy we landed here. We got here at about 2 and I was surprised that they had a nice crowd of guests given the time of day. The seafood was great, and we had walked the boardwalk a couple miles prior to work off the perfectly fried nature of this lunch. Everything tasted fresh and me not being a big fish eater was surprised at how delish the flounder was on my Hubby's platter. A couple call outs... Our hosts were super friendly, and the bathrooms were clean! Apparently this establishment is family owned. The table next to us drew in our attention as the older gentleman was wearing an Arizona sweatshirt... come to find out they were visiting from Tucson (like us) and come here when they visit OC.

Hubby and I were seeking for big & meaty Maryland crabs during our trip to Ocean City and PGN didn't disappoint. We had a dozen of jumbo crabs, they were so meaty! We got corn on the cobs and some fries on the side and I also ordered the tomato base crab soup. It was a good 'crabby' meal :D

Take out Snow Crabs, best in OCMD. Don't expect anything fancy in this restaurant, just great friendly service and perfectly steamed Snow Crabs. $33/lb, little more than I expected this year (was seeing alot of others around $25/lb), but purchased 5 lbs and we ate every single piece. Cooked perfectly, snapped, full of meat. Don't mess around, grab some take out from PGN, you won't be disappointed. I have been doing take out from here for 10+ years, never a problem, never a bad meal.

Will they sell a half dozen steamed crabs to go? Twelve is just too many for us.

Agreed. They do have different specials that may fit your needs. I would call and ask them.

Not much has changed with the ambiance - bar atmosphere, with each time there being a live music act when we came in to eat. As a party of 10 the last two years (a yearly trip) we were sat in front of the music. Not my favorite place as it's hard to have a conversation but the music was good. We had a younger waiter take care of us - we put in some drinks - I ordered a blackberry bourbon tea. It wasn't very sweet or flavorful. Almost like it was watered down. Meh. We put in several apps to start our meal: crab pierogis, cheesesteak egg rolls and crab dip. The crab pierogis sounded good - but the sauce on them or around them was watery. Another person in our party got the crab corn chowder- it was watery. Chowders are thicker, not thin. The cheesesteak egg rolls were good - had a nice flavor to them. The crab dip was very very flavorful - maybe one of the best on the island I have had. For my meal I ordered the Baltimore bird which is fried chicken topped with crab dip. It was a HUGE piece of chicken and looked great -- then I took a bite. The chick was raw inside. Hoping it was just a part of the breast I bit into another part - middle chicken was pink and raw. What makes matters even worse was the Heinz ketchup bottle on the table - billed as a Pittsburgh bar - did not have Heinz in it. Ketchup was way too sweet - definitely off brand. We shared desserts as a table - the brownie Ala mode and the tower brownie cheesecake. Both were.. well small. Good taste but, limited. Again - just ok overall.

Rob and Rose greeted and welcomed us. We ordered the Medium steamed Crabs, Crab Cake Sandwich, Crab Bisque, corn on the cob and Hush Puppies. Wow! What a treat so early in the season. The Bisque was excellent. It's not too spicy but they give you extra seasoning and spice to add according to your personal taste. The Crab Cake was just as advertised. No filler, fresh Crab, Eastern Shore style and delicious. The medium crabs were very good. Some establishments would be seeking them as Large. They were seasoned and steamed perfectly. Heavy and sweet. The sides; Corn on the Cob, steamed in the Husk was very good and the Hush Puppies were a perfect pairing. My apologies for lack of pictures, we ate most everything before I started taking pictures. Rob and Rose were very attentive. They told us their story and shared a scrap book of their off season home in New Mexico. They were in the process of training and orienting their summer staff while we enjoyed our meal. The attention to detail, customer first, quality service and passion for excellent food was on full display. The dining is beach rustic and perfect. There's a good amount of parking and it's easy to find them right along coastal highway. What initially seemed like a disappointment today turned into a wonderful discovery of a new favorite. On The Bay Seafood is a must try if you're at the shore this year.

We ordered the seafood combo that included six hard-shell crabs, three pounds of snow crab legs, a half-pound of shrimp, corn, and hush puppies. The hard-shell crabs were decent, although they seemed slightly oversteamed. The meat in the legs was practically fused to the shell, making them difficult to eat. The snow crab legs were good, but the shrimp were noticeably undercooked, which made peeling them nearly impossible. There were a few bright spots. The beer was reasonably priced at $4.50 a pint, and the hush puppies were excellent--arguably the best part of the entire meal. The corn, however, was tough and seemed past its prime. For the roughly $145 we spent on the combo, I expected a better overall dining experience. Sadly, this seems to be the standard at many seafood restaurants these days: higher prices without a corresponding increase in quality. And while it's a minor issue compared to the food, the deck seating chairs were surprisingly uncomfortable and felt out of place for a restaurant charging these prices. Overall, the meal wasn't terrible, but it fell well short of expectations given the cost.
