    Koshari
    Kyja W.

While trying to decide on what I wanted for dinner, I thought about the various cuisines and restaurants around Atlanta that I haven't had yet. As I looked at my personal list, I decided to seek out Egyptian food. I have friends from Egypt, and while I've had some of their home cooked dishes, I was excited to share with them about the new dishes that I tried. I popped on UberEats and ordered takeout. It goes without saying that I can't speak on service or ambiance yet. For my dishes, I decided to go with one appetizer and one entree. I chose the Moussaka (Served cold. A delicious Egyptian dish consisting of sliced eggplant and mixed peppers fried to perfection and then sauteed with our special tomato sauce) for my app, after many a back and forth because everything sounded great. For my entree, I went with the Koshari (Koshari is the Egyptian national dish, it brings together the poor and the rich. This hearty dish is composed of rice, lentils, chickpeas, pasta, and topped with a spicy tomato sauce and fried onions. You will understand Egypt better with the first bite. Served with rice and mixed vegetables) because I wanted to try the national dish. As soon as I opened my bag, I was excited to see pita bread! I didn't know that this came with either of these options so that was a nice surprise. It also came with some type of dressing that was good. I can't place exactly what it is. My favorite taste was probably the moussaka. I scooped it onto the pita bread and dove in. It was so flavorful. The pita bread itself tasted a little hard, but not bad. The Koshari was very interesting! In the most respectful way, it's like a hodge podge of bases you might select one of, but this one's got it all! Spaghetti noodles, macaroni noodles, rice, AND lentils! It's fun! The crispy chickpeas and fried onions make for a nice topping. My critique is that I wish it was saucier. Perhaps the dish doesn't travel the greatest and maybe the noodles soaked it up, but there really wasn't much sauce on it. Also, just to note: one of my bites had a giant piece of what tasted like cloves in it. The rest of my bites felt pretty cohesive and mixed in though. As for prices, this place feels a bit on the pricier side. However, to me, it was worth the experience. I look forward to dining in next time and bringing my boyfriend with me because I know he will really enjoy it as well. Can't wait to try more dishes soon!

Food: Amazing-balls..sorry much flavor Service: okay.... We think the waitress forgot about us because our party was large and we sat at the end in another table....but overall okay Ambiance: It was such a vibe. You have to experience this. The belly dancing was great. The music was authentic with a mix of todays' hits. The bathroom was LIT. Everyone was super friendly and genuine. This has to be the best food I've ever had in my long life! Okay so first the Mezze Sampler... babaganoush, hummus, so perfect. The chicken flatbread - Taste like a yummy egyptian pizza! The wraps (we come often.. delicious!) Lamb chops - amazing! Kanafeh for dessert! I will walk a 1,000 miles for their Kanafeh - the best part!

My friend recommended this place after a movie premier that night. We wound up going to Alpharetta and had an amazing time. The owner was actually there this night and he showed everyone just as much hospitality as the staff. Food, drinks, and music were superb. Parking is tight so be aware you may have to park wAayyyy in the back lol Small place but definitely worth the drive. Looking forward to coming back.

Pharoah's Palace Mixed Grill by delivery

Ordered the Pharoah's Palace Mixed Grill which was strangely $45 on uber eats, and $35 on grubhub. Had an uber eats coupon so after running both numbers, it was cheaper. No menu pics so not sure what the actual cost will be, but yelp had a 20% off Tue-Thur so that's probably the better bet. On to the food, I really enjoyed all the different meats. 2 nice lamb chops, beef, koubideh, and chicken. The chicken was charred completely black though. I still ate it. Being Egyptian food, which was my first time, it's a bit smokier and pungent than Mediterranean style, so it was a nice little change. My only knock was that there were too many green peppers where other veggies might have been better, but that must be the Egyptian style. All in all, delicious. I got 3 meals out of it, and it microwaves quite well. :)

Service, ambiance and food were great. The chicken kabobs were the best. Their version of red velvet cake dessert was good as well. If you are interested in the belly dancing that doesn't get started until 8pm. We were there early so it was relatively quiet. Really good food and service - highly recommended

Overcooked lamb shank. Could not finish.

We came here for my Birthday just to try something different and ethnic. The entire experience from the ambiance, service and food was absolutely horrible. They had one waiter on a Sunday evening and we barely saw him we had to wait almost 30 min after our appetizer for him to come take our entree orders. Our food literally came out one person at a time over a 20 min period. By the time the last person got their food, the others finished their because we got tired of waiting and food was getting cold. We ordered lamb chops, salmon and lamb shank dishes and every dish was over cooked and tough. The rice pyramids we too moist and sticky. Honestly, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in the Atlanta metro area.

    Falafel

June 2022* S U M M A R Y Wowwww Yelp. You really let me down on this one. My mouth was watering upon arrival and by the time I left, it was my biggest restaurant regret of June 2022. I was 70$ poorer and craving Divan. T A S T E Appetizers Falafel: DRYYYYY. DRYYYYY. DRYYYYY. I've eaten falafel near and far. Even during my visit to Israel (where I had the best falafel ever) and this was a poor representation. As soon as it hit my mouth, it was like a powder bomb exploded. It just scrambled apart. Nothing, even hummus, could save it. We told the manager and he said it was his special recipe and included fava beans. It's a fail. Hummus: Decent. Not as smooth as I prefer. Comes with soft pita which is a win. Chicken Flatbread: The manager gave us this as a comp because we didn't like the falafel. This was actually really good once we took it home and placed it in the oven. I tried one at the restaurant and it wasn't crispy enough. Main: Lamb chops : Sorry but I compare every lamb chop in ATL to Divan and this was nowhere up to par. The flavor was actually ok but the chips were soooo tiny and skinny. Like baby lamb chops. And they were overcooked. I like my lamb chops a succulent medium and these were well done. The three rice pyramids were an interesting choice but not enough rice. The veggies were DELICIOUS! We skipped drinks and that was probably a good choice. S E R V I C E This is 100% where they failed! They lost me. This service was some of the worst service I have had all year. Without a doubt. Horrible. To be clear, the waitress was nice... when we could get a hold of her. She literally came to our table every 30 minutes. 30 long minutes. Including, if you ordered something. So water took 30 minutes to arrive. When we were first seated it took about 20 minutes for her to greet us. Our appetizers and mains came out at the same time (I ordered them together because we didn't know when we would see her next) and that took about 30 to 40 minutes. Somebody help me understand. Even to get the check took over 30 minutes. At some point I was waving down other people and just trying to get all my requests in whenever I could see her because it was once in a blue moon. During our visit the Owner/Manager also came over. He didn't seem to be open to our criticism, which we gave politely (dry falafel was the only complaint). He also stopped us before we were seated asking if we had a reservation, which we did. It seemed like he was going to stop us from sitting. The place was half empty the entire 2.5 hours we were there. A M B I E N C E We came on a Saturday night and it was very dark inside with some colored lights. The ambience was OK to me. It was a little cliché with the pictures of the Gyptian's on the wall but I love a good costume restaurant. It was just difficult to see your food. The issue was the music. It was louder than a club! You could not speak to the person sitting 1 foot away from you much less hear your own thoughts. I did enjoy the belly dancer but she only dance for about 10 minutes every hour at the end of the hour. P R I C E Hummus $11. Falafel 12$. Chicken flatbread 19$ (comped). Lamb chops 38$. R A T I N G 3 stars off because the food simply isn't worth the cost in taste or quality, service was slow and inattentive and the music was way too loud.

Over that time, I've had many great experiences here and have recommended the place to numerous friends and family members. Unfortunately, my most recent experience left me disappointed. A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to attend a Friday evening event. I arrived as I normally would, only to discover there was a cover charge and a bouncer at the entrance. The cover charge itself was not the issue. What bothered me was how I was treated. During the interaction, the bouncer physically pushed me away from the entrance. I found that completely unnecessary and disrespectful. As a result, I asked to speak with the owner or someone from management because I did not feel comfortable discussing the situation with the bouncer, especially given how I had been treated. To my surprise, I was told that the owners had asked me to Zelle the cover charge. To be clear, I was never asking for a discount, exemption, or special treatment. I was simply trying to address the way I had been treated at the door and have a conversation with management. Over the years, I have spent a considerable amount of time and money at this establishment and have actively supported it by bringing many guests. I never expected preferential treatment because of that. What I do expect, however, is to be treated with basic respect and dignity. This review is not about the food, hookah, ambiance, or service inside the lounge, all of which I have genuinely enjoyed for years. It is about a customer experience and the choices made by management in handling that situation. A long-time customer who has consistently supported the business should not be made to feel dismissed or disrespected. I thought about this for more than ten days before posting because I genuinely enjoyed this place and did not want to leave a negative review. However, the experience stayed with me. Since then, I have stayed away despite having been a regular visitor. I sincerely hope management takes feedback like this seriously. Respect costs nothing, and it is often what customers remember most.

Also not gonna lie, I really think they have one of the best DJs in town. The music and entertainment are always on point without it feeling too loud or chaotic. It's the perfect little neighborhood spot to chill with friends, have drinks, eat, and just enjoy yourself. Definitely one of those tucked away gems in a plaza that you end up going back to over and over again.

Me and my girls visited this location on a Friday night around 10:50pm-12:30am. We made reservations online and we're late but they were able to hold our reservations since there was hardly anyone there. I would say there was a total of about 35 people there including the staff the night we went. Parking is free as the location is located in a strip mall. The lounge itself is beautiful! Instagram friendly if you're into that type of thing. The Dj was good, she did a few like dances and tried to hype the crowd up. Food: my friend ordered shrimp and fries. The food was decent. I'm not sure how much it was but the shrimp were big. Drinks: cute but No alcohol at all. Literally tasted like juice. I forgot which drinks we had but the drinks had candy in it. Very fruity. The drinks were $13. We also ordered shots of Don which were $13 a shot as well. Hookah: we had a hookah that cost between $30-$40. I'm guessing it was the cheaper one since they have other options that cost more. They allow you to mix three flavors which was great. However, ours was really weak. We didn't even finish it. Maybe the higher options were stronger. Now on to the service. Let me be very clear...The 2 stars is only because the location is new and hadn't had time to figure things out yet. If it wasn't for that, I would give it a 1 start based on service alone. Our server was nice and attentive the whole night but the issue came towards. Once we were ready to leave, we asked for our checks. My friend and I asked her to split the hookah between the two of us since we were the only two smoking hookah. She said ok. When it was time to pay, she said she was going to cash out our food and drink ordered then the hookah. We didn't think anything of it so we said ok. Cashing out with the food and drinks, we were not told that they add an automatic 15% gratuity and it did not show on the screen when she showed us our total so I added an extra 20% tip. Same for my friend and her tab. THEN, she goes to split the hookah between the two of us on separate tab, which also added another 15% gratuity each tab!!! No ma'am. She tried it! She tried to get four (4) 15% gratuity tips and 2 additional tips since we were unaware the first time we added additional gratuity. We asked her why we were being charged more gratuity when we already paid and paid extra? She said gratuity is added on every bill, even if it's 1 item. I asked if that was the case, why didn't she just add the hookah on our drink and food bill then? She said it had to be rung up separately. My friend asked to speak to the manager and after some professional back and forth, the manager agreed to remove the 2 gratuities that would have been charged on the split hookah tab. Good customer service by the manager for removing the additional gratuity. Be mindful of your tab...15% gratuity is automatic and make sure if you have to split anything, split it on 1 tab. I'm not sure if the menu mentioned that gratuity was automatically added but the serves sure didn't. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind gratuity being added but at least be ethical and make the party aware. And definitely don't split tabs to get more.
