I had an extremely frustrating experience with Best Buy involving a $1,164.94 Store Pickup order…read more Before taking possession of the phone, I contacted Best Buy and asked to cancel the order or change it to shipping. I was told it could not be canceled. The problem is that Best Buy's own published cancellation policy specifically states that Store Pickup orders can be canceled "anytime." Because they would not cancel the order, the store ultimately had to process the phone as picked up and then immediately return it, even though the merchandise never needed to leave Best Buy's possession. Then another issue appeared. Best Buy's Order Details showed the original $1,164.94 payment associated with my Best Buy Credit Card ending in 4184, while the $1,164.94 return was displayed as associated with Mastercard ending in 2069. I have screenshots documenting the original payment, the return information, and Best Buy's published "Cancel anytime" policy. What should have been a simple cancellation turned into multiple contacts with Customer Service, a trip to the store, an unnecessary pickup/return process, a refund discrepancy, and multiple escalations. I've now escalated the matter to Best Buy corporate and contacted Best Buy's social-media support team. I have also filed a consumer complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office. I am still giving Best Buy the opportunity to resolve this. I want the $1,164.94 refund properly accounted for, an explanation for why the published cancellation policy wasn't followed, and reasonable compensation for the time and inconvenience this situation has caused. I will update this review if Best Buy resolves the matter appropriately.
