Fantastic everything. Great service, food presentation, drinks, and dessert. All our meals were cooked to perfection. Felt like home. Phil has a great place here. Definitely makes you feel welcomed. I could ramble on but you have to try it.

Our evening was just spectacular- our server, Mark, was a pleasure- great sense of humor, and was very comfortable with the menu. We enjoyed his banter almost as much as our drinks ( delicious!). The husbands enjoyed their ribeyes immensely- slightly overdone but still tender and flavorful - no gristle to be found. We also had the branzino, stroganoff, and Chicken Mediterraneo, and finished up with their bread pudding. All were delicious. Mark brought us a serving of their clam chowder to share for which was loaded with clams and had a clean, fresh flavor. Phil was friendly but never overbearing, personally greeting all of us and wanting us to enjoy our evening. Looking forward to our next visit- AND oh, Phil go GIANTS :)

Absolutely fantastic. This was an E-Ticket ride Where do I startm. The service was amazing.. I didn't even order but just asked our waiter to bring out what he liked.b I wanted the octopus, but was hungry, so they put it in a spectacular fettacini. I really appreciate when you ask the staff what's good and they don't say everything. The Brussels and Mac and cheese was awesome best of my lifem The drinks and the bar is... Spectacular.. every custom drink was an atomic bomb of flavor. The best part was going to the back bar.. wow I'm coming here all the time. The drinks were phenomenal. The food was simply amazing. You walk up to Phil's and it's an absolutely stunning little eatery on Thousand Oaks Blvd. Their dining room is giving upscale, clean, a little Sinatra vibes. Black and white decor, wine glasses, soft music. I was like okay, this is going to be a nice meal, pinky up. The loveliest staff Caroline informs me that in the back of the restaurant down a hallway is their bar and country karaoke night. Imagine my delight when as I walked back, the entire ambiance changed - the five star dining room slowly faded into a bright red accented bar with signage everywhere, karaoke blasting and a lot of really fun looking people hanging out. Will need to come back for a karaoke night. Here is what I loved at Phil's: SWEET CAROLINE: This passionfruit and vanilla forward martini was named after our favorite staff member Caroline. A sip of this cocktail will definitely have you singing like Neil Diamond. The smoke bubble topper made the drink even more fun. PAPPARDELLE AND SAUSAGE PASTA: 10/10 Hot italian sausage, tomatoes, a cream sauce with basil and parmesan cheese, this dish blew me away. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce was super rich and creamy. A lovely pasta and a dish I'd highly recommend. Ending on my final positive note the service was absolutely impeccable here! Caroline was beyond lovely and as newbies dining here she made us feel right at home, like a regular customer. She was so kind and attentive from start to finish. Caroline gave us the best recommendations and clearly is passionate about the business and her patrons. Every restaurant needs a Caroline, because people like her + fun cocktails + delicious bites will definitely have me coming back.

What a great experience for our first time at Phil's! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with big smiles by everyone including Phil himself. We started with drinks and appetizers: meatballs, a pretzel, tuna tartare, and sliders. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. My personal favorite was the meatballs the sauce was unreal and fully approved by an Italian himself. We loved them so much that we ordered a second round. We then split the beef stroganoff, which was amazing, and finished with the apple caramel cobbler. The dessert didn't stand a chance, highly recommend!! It was everything we could have asked for and more. Not only was the food fantastic, but the service was outstanding. We laughed the entire time. Our server, Z, truly felt like a friend by the end of the night, and the gentleman running our food from the Midwest--whose name we unfortunately didn't catch was also wonderful and added to the great experience. We will absolutely be back! Thank you Phil for a great first time!!! - Ashley and Paul Sinacori

5/5 So Good I Went Back the Next Day! I almost never leave reviews, but this place absolutely earned it. From the moment I walked in, the warm, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff as well as the owner Phil made me feel right at home. The menu is everything you want from traditional comfort food--creative, hearty, and done right. On my first visit, I had the short rib stuffed raviolis with creamy vodka sauce. So delicious I asked for some bread to use on the leftover sauce. I came back the very next day (yes, it's that good) and tried their classic prime rib French dip and fries. Hands down one of the best french dips I've had anywhere--juicy and flavorful. The fries were golden, crisp, and delicious. Also don't skip dessert, I tried the peanut butter tart and apple caramel cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream, both were delicious. Service was just as excellent from Mark on both nights. He was attentive without being overbearing, and you can tell everyone there genuinely cares about making sure you leave happy (and full). Both Mark and the owner Phil made sure we had everything we needed and/or wanted at all times. If you're craving honest, old-school cooking done with real care and flavor, this spot deserves a place at the top of your list. I'm already planning my next visit.

Phil's is so cute and quaint inside. It's casual, but yet romantic enough for a nice couple's night out. The restaurant is very warm and welcoming, and is also suitable for a night out with friends or co-workers. The menu offers a variety to suit different palettes. The prices are not over the top, but they are not the cheapest, either. I loved how the presentation of all the dishes ordered were clean, neat, and very presentable. Now for the food: **The Crispy Brussel Sprouts: This appetizer, topped with cabbage, shaved parmesan cheese, sliced almonds, onions and balsamic, is so amazing and very flavorful. This is a must try! **Traditional Style Hot Wings: I was a bit disappointed because it lacked the spicy hot kick I was expecting. The side of jalapeños made up for the kick, though. **Beef Stroganoff: I loved how the beef was very tender and pasta was cooked to perfection. I just wish it had more sauce because the dish started to dry out as the pasta absorbed most of the sauce. **Spaghetti and Meatballs: 2 large meatballs were very good and very tender. They were tossed with pasta and a nice marinara sauce. My only complaint is the meatballs had too much cracked pepper. Every bite had that peppery kick. **Homemade Meatloaf: The mashed potatoes were very creamy and delicious. Not dry at all. The crispy onions on top added a nice flavor. The meatloaf was good, however, this also had too much cracked pepper with every bite. If it didn't have so much pepper, I would have enjoyed it more! Aside from my dislike of pepper, I would come back to try other items, especially the desserts. The charming atmosphere is enough to bring me back. Hopefully the other dishes won't have too much pepper!! It would also be nice to see a shrimp dish on the menu.

Phil's in Thousand Oaks delivers on flavor with a few ups and downs. We ordered the schnitzel salad, southern fried chicken sandwich, and margherita flatbread--each dish came out fresh, savory, and satisfying. The portion sizes felt just right, and the food quality really stood out. The atmosphere is bright and minimalistic up front, creating a clean, modern vibe. In contrast, the back bar area feels more intimate and moody--perfect for winding down during their daily happy hour from 3-6pm, even on Fridays, which is a definite plus. One miss was the margarita I ordered--it leaned far too sweet and had an odd aftertaste that reminded me of Splenda. Service was quick and efficient, though not overly warm or inviting. Overall, despite the cocktail hiccup, I'd go back--especially to catch that happy hour in the cozy bar area.

First, ambiance is a combination of Tiki Bar, Miami South Beach and Palm Springs lounge vibe. It is expansive inside, with a mix of booths, tables and a very nice bar. Kitchen is in the back, but completely visible behind huge windows. Interestingly, chef staff deliver the dishes to your table. We got a glass of Chardonnay, a Mojito and a Red O margarita. The cocktails are available by the glass or pitcher. Next time we are definitely going with pitcher(s) of margaritas. We ordered a handful of dishes and all were excellent. I felt like I was running into servers and dead ends both times I had to walk through the restaurant. Our food came out no more than 5 minutes after ordering it on a very busy Saturday night which was a little bizarre. Don't get me wrong it's definitely nice to not have to wait for a long time, but we had literally just been given our chips and salsa appetizer so it felt rushed. And to that point, to charge for chips and salsa when every other restaurant on earth gives them for free, I want them to be the best I've ever had, and although the chips were warm, neither the chips or salsa tasted particularly homemade or great. I'm a big mole fan and maybe this is just preference, but the mole here had way way way more of a smoky taste when I was hoping for more of that sweetness. It wasn't my favorite mole I've ever had. The highlights of the night food wise were the esquite corn and the fresh chopped salad. The biggest blunder of the night happened as we were close to finishing our meal (thank god). A woman came over the to the table next to us, sprayed a bottle labeled "sanitizer" all over the table 2 feet away from us, and the breeze or fan from the outside seating literally wafted all of the sanitizing spray onto our bodies and our food. Like I legit felt spray land on my arm, my mom on her leg, and onto our table filled with food. We were shocked, why wouldn't you spray CHEMICALS into the dish rag you're about to wipe with, rather than in the direction of two people EATING 2 feet away? The woman just said "sorry!" and ran away.... We had plenty of leftovers on the table, but we opted not to bring home the dish that was closest to the other table as we're pretty sure there was cleaning solution on it. Even taking a sip of water, we had it in our minds that it started to taste weird. Very very strange experience.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

It's the perfectly curated trio - Dirty Martini, followed by a well dressed crisp Cesar salad, and perfectly hot Truffle French fries. That's girl dinner in a nutshell (trust us on this combo). On their speciality menu it's called "Martinis and Munchies for Two" for $49. An amazing deal split between two friends. Dirty Martini: Some of the best ice cold martinis on this side of town. These cocktails were crafted to perfection and were always a sucker for the blue cheese stuffed olives. Tossed Cesar Salad: A Cesar salad during these hot summer months always hits the spot. Crisp, cold and fresh. The dressing was solid but I must highlight the lightly scattered capers on this salad - so smart and so tasty! Truffle French Fries: After a few martinis these French fries come in clutch. Crispy, hot and perfectly salted - who doesn't love a French fry and an aioli with a kick. Honorable Mention: PASTA. I was very impressed with my pasta dish here. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and this pasta was a 10/10. Perfectly cooked ribbons of pasta with a hearty meat sauce and the Stracciatella topping sealed the deal for me on this pasta. We had a fabulous girls dinner from start to finish. The ambience at Selvin's is truly magical and we just love the decor and bar area. We had a cozy little booth to ourselves and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Extra kudos to Claudia for being a bubbly, lovely girls girl who was super attentive to us during our meal and made the night A+. Can't wait to come back soon.

They should always be attentive. Especially during a busy dinner time.
