I waited a full week before writing this review because I didn't want to react out of anger. Unfortunately, even after having time to think about it, I still feel I need to share what happened. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this dealership. On July 31, 2026, we drove to Sterling BMW after confirming everything beforehand via email, text, and phone. They ran a hard credit inquiry, we finalized the numbers, got approved, and I signed and submitted a payment authorization form for the down payment so they could prepare the vehicle. I was even willing to purchase the car without seeing it in person first, despite it being a used demo with around 2,000 miles. I tried to make the process as easy as possible and secure the deal while we were already on our way. Then, literally about five minutes before arriving, I received a call saying the vehicle had just been sold because another customer had just been approved. I asked how that was possible when we had already been approved before them, agreed on the deal, authorized the down payment, and were on our way. Our salesperson, Aaron Guzman, seemed frustrated as well. From what was explained to us, management allowed another salesperson to move forward with a customer who was physically at the dealership, despite knowing our deal was already approved and we were minutes away. That alone was extremely frustrating. What made the experience significantly worse was how the manager, Adrian Contreras, handled it. Instead of acknowledging what happened or trying to find a solution, his response in front of his colleagues was essentially: "It is what it is. What do you want me to do? Produce another car for you?" Seriously? Mistakes and miscommunications happen. But after a customer has gone through a hard credit inquiry, received approval, agreed to the numbers, authorized the down payment, and driven there specifically for that vehicle, I would at least expect a sincere apology and an effort to make things right. Something as simple as, "I'm sorry, this should not have happened. Let me see what similar vehicles we have and what I can do for you," would have completely changed the situation. Instead, I felt dismissed and embarrassed in front of others simply because I was understandably frustrated. In my opinion, the way management handled the situation was unprofessional, rude, and dismissive. There was no genuine apology or meaningful attempt from management to make things right. I do want to make one thing VERY clear: our salesperson, Aaron Guzman, was NOT the problem. Aaron was amazing. I'm sure the situation was uncomfortable for him as well, especially since the deal was effectively taken away from him too. He remained kind and professional and genuinely tried to help us. He showed us another vehicle that we ended up liking and tried to work out a deal, even though it was more expensive than the vehicle we originally agreed to purchase. At that point, I was so disappointed that I didn't even want to go back inside the dealership. Aaron even offered to deliver the vehicle to our home so we could complete the paperwork there. His effort is ultimately why I was still willing to complete a purchase with him. Thank you, Aaron. You handled a very uncomfortable situation the right way and did everything you could to save the experience. We currently own a 2025 Mercedes G-Class, a 2025 BMW M4, and a 2026 Land Rover Defender, so we are not unfamiliar with purchasing luxury vehicles. We are generally easy and loyal customers when treated fairly, and we have never experienced this level of treatment during a vehicle purchase. For a luxury brand like BMW, I expected a completely different level of professionalism and customer service from management. As of today, a full week later, I still have not received an apology, explanation, or any kind of follow-up from management regarding what happened. Unfortunately, one manager's handling of this situation completely changed my impression of the dealership. Despite Aaron doing everything he could to help us, I honestly don't know if I would put myself through another purchase here. Unless management reaches out and properly addresses what happened, I will be escalating the matter to BMW Corporate and filing a formal complaint. Based on how this situation was handled by management, I cannot recommend this dealership and would strongly suggest considering other BMW dealers in the area. read more

The people here made our purchase fairly easy once we picked the BMW we wanted. Salesman was very patient. We used Costco to purchase and I recommend doing that for a great deal. The car we ended up with had just arrived so we went to lunch while it was being checked in and cleaned. This was one of the most frustrating service experiences I've had at a dealership. This dealership appears to be run by very inexperienced staff who come across as overly attitude-driven. The team seemed green in their roles, as if they've had little to no prior customer service experience. It was all very amateur--interactions were handled more through ego than professionalism. This location falls far short of what you would expect from a luxury brand. I was told my car would be ready at 3 PM. Because of traffic, I called about five minutes before 6 PM to let them know I was literally one light away--and I had already been told they would wait for me. The girl who answered the phone was completely unhelpful. She kept saying, "I don't know," when I asked if she could let service know I was right around the corner. I literally said, "Well, that's why I'm calling you--can you check? Can you walk over and let them know I'm almost there?" She made zero effort to help. No checking, no communication, nothing. Just sorry I don't know who's over there. Defeats the purpose of her simple task of even answering the phone. Then I pull up just a couple minutes after my call - and I see one of their staff rushing to store my car away after already driving an hour in traffic they couldn't even spare 2 minutes past the clock for their customers... really speaks to their work ethic at this location. Inside wasn't any better. The cashier asked if I had been told my car was ready--meanwhile, my car was right outside and the key had just been handed to her. I even showed her the text messages. No paperwork ready, no coordination, communication, or accountability. Anyway I picked up my car- this is the 2nd time I'm met with this service here nothing new. Stopped by Sterling BMW to take a look at the new M5 Touring and ended up getting one of the most bizarre dealership experiences I've had. One of the showroom cars was unlocked, so I sat inside to check out the interior -- which, as far as I know, is exactly what showroom cars are for. Within seconds a salesperson walked over with a very unfriendly tone and asked why I was inside the car. I told him the car was unlocked and I just wanted to take a look. His response? "If you're not buying the car, we don't want people sitting in it." That was honestly impressive. I didn't realize Sterling BMW had developed a revolutionary new sales strategy where customers are discouraged from actually experiencing the product. If people aren't supposed to sit in the car unless they're already buying it, maybe the showroom should just be turned into a museum. Rope the cars off, put up some "Do Not Touch" signs, and save everyone the confusion. I came in genuinely interested in seeing the M5 Touring. After that interaction, I lost interest in doing business with this dealership entirely. Arranged reputable shipping through Montway Auto Transport, who assigned SAFO Trucking Corp with proper bill of lading and USDOT#. Instead, unauthorized Tommy's Towing (Huntington Beach) arrived in a flatbed, no matching credentials, just a VIN and vague email, while transporting the vehicle on paper to a suspicious residential university address. Sterling BMW ignored every glaring red flag, every protocol they have, and released the keys, and mentioned to me it felt "sketchy" but "all good." They also lied about the transportation towing company claiming they were part of the transporter's business and going to drop it off to their "local tow yard to load up" and that it's "totally normal." The vehicle was stolen on the spot. Since then? Crickets from the dealership. Zero communication, no check-ins, no offers of help, no attempt at resolution--nothing. They got their quick commission and washed their hands of it completely. No care whatsoever for a customer who just dropped six figures. This is reckless negligence combined with appalling indifference. Dealerships know transport protocols inside out; they failed miserably and couldn't care less afterward. I purchased a 2011 Aston Martin DB9. During the negotiations, I was told they would get an oil change and inspection of the car at the Aston Martin dealership. After we agreed to a sales price and proceeded with the sale, they changed their mind and said they would not do this at the Aston Martin dealership but do it themselves. I told them I wanted an inspection from Aston Martin, as they promised, or 2 independent pre-sales inspectors nearby and they said no. They said they were putting new tires on the car and I said I wanted to choose the tires for the car and they never let me do that. After we agreed on a sales price and proceeded with the sale, they then showed me one wheel was damaged and another wheel had paint on it. When I drove the car home, a center wheel cap came off. The customer service was great. They took care of my car pretty quickly but even accommodated holding it an extra day since I couldn't pick it up same day. Jeovany was super cool too and we had a good conversation while I was waiting for the loaner. Only bad part was, I had a $5 bill in my center console area. I was already driving away and opened it up and noticed it was gone. Not sure which part of their staff would've stolen a $5 bill, but it was a bummer. It wasn't a lot so I didn't care to drive back. I Bought my 840i car here at Sterling BMW. Finance Manager KJ Avedian helped finalize the purchase. He convinced me to add Brake Pads, Rotors and Oil Changes for an extra $2,500. A year later, I came to service the vehicle, and they refused to honor the Brake Pads and Rotors. I spoke to a couple managers which also denied me. I am upset they would sell me a plan to replace my brake pads and then claim I never signed up for this. Essentially, Sterling BMW charged me $2,500 for 3 oil changes. Sterling BMW in Newport Beach has completely lost my trust after more than 15 years of loyalty and six vehicles leased by my family. I never imagined I'd be writing this review, but the way I was treated leaves me no choice. Four weeks ago, I purchased my leased BMW at the end of term. The vehicle had under 23,000 miles, was well maintained by me, and I felt confident purchasing it. During the transaction, I was strongly encouraged to spend $5,000 on an extended warranty, which I agreed to without hesitation. At no point was I offered or even informed about a maintenance package. What's worse is that no one bothered to check the most basic maintenance items before selling me the car: oil, brake fluid, engine coolant, microfilter, nothing. My oil light came on almost immediately after purchase. When I brought the car in for service today, I was handed an $838.61 bill for basic maintenance items that absolutely should have been addressed, or at least discussed, at the time of purchase. These are not surprise issues or wear-and-tear problems; this is routine due diligence any reputable dealership should perform before finalizing a sale. When I questioned why I was expected to pay for this so soon after buying the car, the response was dismissive and unapologetic. I was shuffled to financing, where I was asked, "Weren't you offered a maintenance package?" No I said, and ironically, the one who asked the question was the same individual that sold me the $5,000 warranty, but when I told him that it was he who provided the warranty option he dismissed my question, unbelievable.. Again, no attempt to help, no "let me see what we can do," no accountability whatsoever. Sterling BMW was more than happy to provide financing at a high interest rate, sell a $5,000 warranty I may never use, but when it came time to stand behind their sale or show even minimal customer care, they did nothing. I've spent 25 years in the financial services industry, and I am appalled by the lack of ethics and customer service displayed here. Loyal customers should not feel taken advantage of, brushed aside, or treated as disposable. Trust me when I say I have a large client base in the surrounding area and will be spreading the word on my experience today. It's astonishing that Sterling BMW was willing to lose a long-standing relationship and referral source over $838.61, especially considering how overpriced today's services were to begin with. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience crossed a line. If you value transparency, accountability, and ethical treatment, I strongly suggest you think twice before doing business with this dealership.
