Bottom line: I found the seafood in the middle of Georgia, in the middle of this airport ... surprisingly good. I'd definitely recommend the crab cake Rueben on Texas Toast! The server was great and friendly however the food was not what I was hoping. The other day my wife and I were in Atlanta's Hartsfield Airport (terminal D) looking for a good place to have lunch. We've been to Phillips Seafood restaurant before (Hartford CT) so we choose to go there. It was excellent! Great service, and my grilled Mahi sandwich was fantastic. My wife had the burger and it was also excellent. I was genuinely surprised to see such a large piece of fish between the ciabatta roll. They have a very good sauce on the side as well. I'd like to say the prices were reasonable but lately everything is so expensive that I should not have been surprised to see the bill. Two beers, two lunches and a 20% tip came to over 60 dollars. To be honest that seems to be the norm unless you are looking at fast food. So if you like grilled seafood and happen to be in an airport check out Phillips Seafood. read more

Had a fabulous experience here with Yolanda. She was so thoughtful, attentive, accommodating and made a killer Bloody Mary. Her crew (Denekia, Kiarra, Hannah & Shakia) was also nice and they made a great team. This was a terrific sit-down breakfast option in the airport. The dining area is bright snd open with lots of windows to the rear and side, giving it an entirely nice and un-airportish feel. The most striking thing was how the employees all seemed to be enjoying each other and their work. Laughing, happy, smiling and sweet as pie. Oh and breakfast was very good - my mushroom and spinach omelette and sausage were solid and the home fries, while a bit salty, were seasoned so tastily I ate every last crumb. Long layover at Atlanta and decided on Phillips Seafood for dinner. Had their lobster bisque and steamed mussels. Lobster bisque came up quick which means it is already cooked and just sitting out there ready to serve. The dish was served warm and not hot. It is velvety as described. It was average. I think had it been hot soup i might rate it higher. The steamed mussels were served in a pan with lid on. Nice touch. The panini bread served alongside the pan was toasted so that's also nice. There were unopened mussels so that means cook didn't open the pan to check. I would have preferred to see all the shells opened though. Felt like a partial dish since there were 6 unopened shells. A little too much butter was used in my opinion. I live the garlicky flavor. I preferred my mussels with white wine and lemon for that slight tartness. Both dishes were on the salty side for me so the glass of water helped. read more

If this rating was based solely on the food I'd give it 5 stars! I started with the mixed greens salad and added crab meat. It's a small portion of salad and meat so good for a light lunch but I didn't feel like it was near enough for dinner. I also had the grilled Mahi with steamed veggies and sweet potato bites. I will definitely be ordering that again! It was a perfect portion, perfectly seasoned, and overall very tasty. Why does every airport restaurant have three stars? It's because the people are hungry and generally won't wander far from their terminal. The food is basic to cater to the lowest common denominator. The prices are set high because you are a captive in the airport. And service can be hit or miss because the servers know that they most likely will not see you again. So Phillips seafood gets three stars. The service was odd since my original server either went on break or wen home. I ordered the soup and something fried-- generally you can't go wrong with something fried. The soup was ok, but it had a slight metallic taste. I liked the oyster crackers it was served with. Then I got some friend chicken tenders. They were covered in sweet Thai chili sauce. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either. Here are your three stars, you earned them. read more

A great tip is, if your ever flying if never book a connecting flight that gives you only 45 minutes. Literally missed the flight due to bad weather and delay from Los Angeles so I ended up missing my connecting to Sarasota. Since we missed it I decided why not let's go and try this seafood store in Terminal D. It's located in the corner and close to Food Network kitchen side if that helps. There is also a lady standing out in front to answer any questions you might have about the food and there is a menu right in front for you to see what you would want to order. We ordered a soup and also a mahi grilled fish. Overall the food tasted pretty good and service is also really friendly and fast! I enjoyed our time here and we literally just sat around and ate while trying to get onto another flight to Florida. The food is pretty hearty and very filling. After being seated I had to snap out of my expectations and remind myself I was in the airport. Clean Healthy Food Excellent Quality Impeccable Service Getting healthy good quality food at any airport is a challenge. I am so pleased to find Phillips Seafood on Concourse D, right next to gate D21 at Atlanta Airport. I saw it advertised on one of the airport monitors but I really had to go looking for it. (It is located in the center of the Terminal D concourse but you cannot see it from the main walkway. There is a little sign poking out in the hallway, look for that. It is not very helpful that the Atlanta Airport Website makes no mention of it either! So I made a little map... I had the crab soup, the steamed shrimp and the Mahi-Mahi with Coleslaw and Veggies. The soup was very nice and not over-salted which I really appreciate with any restaurant soup. The shrimp came with both hot dipping butter and cold cocktail sauce. The shrimp were cooked perfectly - nice and tender. The Mahi-Mahi was to die for! The server had a smile that would brighten even Darth Vader's day, was courteous, efficient, and even opened up the to-go boxes to show me the order before she wrapped them. Talk about pride of craft! Next time I have to fly to US South East I plan to book any flight option that goes through Atlanta, just so I can return to try more of their yummy seafood menu! I came here at various times on my business trips awhile back but never reviewed. I had this sweet older lady who waited on me multiple times, funny enough. She was excellent; very friendly and caring. As a lobster roll aficionado, I got the lobster roll with waffle fries, and was worth every penny. Good sized lobster roll for the price in comparison to other lobster rolls I have had at other places.
