Paschal's Restaurant in the ATL airport on Concourse B is a must. I have bypassed the Delta Sky Club, which is on the same concourse to get a meal. No matter what I order, it is delicious. Also, Shatara is always a pleasure and provides excellent service. read more

Stopped through the Atlanta airport and grabbed breakfast from here. We all were pleasantly surprised. The biscuits were fresh and buttery. The chicken biscuit was very flavorful and so was the fish. Grits are grits, what can you say. The only feedback I'd give is to melt the cheese instead of just dumping it on top of the grits and biscuit. Other than that, we'd definitely be back when we return to this airport. read more

Atlanta has been my layover stop for years now and I am not sure why I have never tried Paschal's until this recent trip. After looking at dozens of eateries on Yelp, paschal's got my attention with their fried chicken and candied yams so I have decided to walk over from concourse A to B. I picked the 2 pcs dark meat chicken meal and it came with two sides and 2 pcs of corn muffins. They unfortunately ran out of my favorite candied yams so I elected the collard greens and green beans. The ladies behind the counter were so friendly and handled the dinner rush efficiently so no one had to wait too long. The chicken was soooo crispy but yet juicy and flavorful. My only regret is not getting the 3 pcs meal or a bucket (which they don't have) and the candied yams but I shall be back! read more

You cannot go wrong eating at this establishment! I ate at the ATL airport Concourse A restaurant and it was delish! Oh, what did I have.... White shrimp the only thing that disappointed me was there was not any grits to accompany the shrimp. I chose the Mac & Cheese, shall I say awesomely good and the black-eyed peas, again delicious. It rare that an airport restaurant makes you want to try the restaurant outside the restaurant, it's usually the other way around. You figure since the outside restaurant is good the airport restaurant should be too. I am definitely going to try Paschals next time I'm in Atlanta or another city in which it's located. read more

This is one of the best soul food spots at Atlanta Harsfeild Airport. The chicken is either fried or baked and each one is delicious. Also fried or baked catfish. My favorite is the fried chicken it's crispy and juicy. They have me falling in love with the chicken breast because they fry it the way it should be. OMG! I have now eaten fried chicken the way it was intended. Between flights at ATL airport I had all the time in the world to kill - all 50 minutes actually. So I gave this (60 year established Southern style restaurant, as I belatedly found out, with 3 concessions at ATL) chicken stand a shot. Booya! No thick skin crust, no lack of flavor, no dried meat, no greasy feel. Just an excellent crisp bite through a surprisingly thin and tasty batter into a juicy and succulent piece of chicken. And the sides I had, mac n' cheese and collard greens - outstanding. Really! Good! As I was savoring my last bites I decided to check my boarding pass and OMG realized that what I thought was the boarding time was the departure time!!!! With 10 mins to go I grabbed my bags and raced off to my flight, arriving as they were about to shut the doors. Last one on, a belly full of the best fried chicken and fixins' I ever ate, and a 2 hour flight ahead to a well earned vacation. Life is good. A Review for Breakfast: I had a 3 hour layover so I decided I wanted sit down service. Let me tell you...if you are pressed for time during breakfast hours, please go elsewhere or order takeout. This is not the place for you. They were sooooooooooo slooooooow! I had nothing but time on my hands, so I didn't complain. The older gentleman seated me 20 minutes after I arrived. I asked for the table near the window because I wanted to relax and look at the planes. The table had dirty dishes on it and the bus boy never showed up. So the host cleared it himself. I sat down and waited for my waitress for another 25 minutes...and yes I was counting. She took my order and my food came out within 20 minutes. I ordered cheese in my eggs. Big mistake. I have never seen eggs swimming in grease before. Everything else was OK though. Maybe their lunch and dinner would be better. If I ever return, maybe I will try the chicken to go. read more

Came for a birthday dinner. I commend the servers for being able to adjust to the host adding more people to her reservation than she stated. Paschal's ought to be a shame of themselves for cooking food this darn good. If you have a quick layover you will need to muster the will and strength to make it to your gate after eating here, but that is a good thing! Hmm. I looked on my friendly Yelp app for the best food in the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta airport and viola. I ordered a 3 piece with candied yams, mashed potatoes with gravy and an order of peach cobbler. OMG!!!! The chicken was so moist and the crust was (I am slobbering right now) just right..that is the best way I can describe it because you have to taste it for yourself. The candied yams were oh so sweet, but not over the top sweet. As for the mash potatoes, I was not impressed, but I am going to their main restaurant to try them out at a later date, for testing purposes of course. The peach cobbler had the best ratio of crust, apple and gelatin. Yeah, it seems scientific, but this is how my mind thinks. The food was so good that I extended my layover on the way back to pick up orders for my friends with sides of peach cobbler. All I can say is watch the flow of traffic and jump in the queue when it is minimal. It will be worth it. Almost forgot, I have NEVER seen a biscuit that looks like a yo-you and so light and flaky...Kudos. read more

When in the ATL, do as the ATLiens do...which is eat soul food! For lunch on a layover I ordered the Fried Chicken dinner (dark). It was a pretty simple ordering process even for this east coaster: Lady: Welcome to Paschal's. In or out? Me: In. Lady: Whatcha having Sir? Me: Fried Chicken dinner (dark). Lady: Two sides? Me: Collard greens and Sweet potato yams Lady: Corn bread or biscuit? Me: Uhh..what do you recommend? Choose for me please! Lady: Looks like you'll have the corn bread darling. Me: Sure...corn bread! So the fried chicken was crispy and cooked well. It seemed like regular fried chicken as there was not a hint of any special seasoning. The greens and corn bread were okay. Hidden in the back, walk past the pizza place to find it. 2 piece Chicken combo: baked chicken reminds me of the shake and bake bbq flavor, not a standard tomato sauce ketchup sweet like bbq sauce. Slightly tangy, spicy with both a red pepper and black pepper flavor. Not dry like most baked chicken. You can taste the texture difference between the breast and thigh pieces. The breast piece are drier. Collard greens; cooked long enough to melt in your mouth, smoky and slightly sweet and sour flavor. Mashed potatoes+ gravy: no lumps in the potato mash. Probably added a cream emulsifier like milk. Gravy was too salty for me. Corn bread: made with corn meal; authentic, Get the gritty coarse texture. Small bite sized. Dry to absorb gravy. Best meal in the airport so far. Home cooked style, not Americanized sweet like most bbq restaurants, not a big portion of carbs to increase profitability. Hard to find cooked food which isn't fried. Real food takes time to prepare and once they run out they are done for the day. read more

I totally forgot to review this place even though it was definitely the best ending for my trip to Atlanta. I arrived way too early at the airport and went through the security checkpoint wondering what I was going to do for the next 5 hours. I honestly thought I was going to be bored out of my mind but as I got to Concourse C, I decided to try Paschal's out since the first thing that I saw was the bar. Long story short, I did not leave until the very last minute to board my plane (I was third to last to board). I ordered the Southern Fried Catfish, which came with a large salad. I loved the catfish - how it was prepared and how it tasted. Service - especially the bartenders - was exceptionally friendly. As I mentioned in some of my previous reviews, my friends from here weren't joking about Southern hospitality. If I ever am to fly out of Atlanta again, I'm definitely going to arrive extra early just to camp this spot again. Decent food, good drinks, and great service is a complete plus. Not to mention, I met some really cool people who were waiting for their flights as well and had some pretty interesting conversations about life and business. read more

If I had to rate it, the Yams would win, followed by the chicken and then maybe, just maybe the mac & cheese. .that was a gooey waste... I cannot say that was the best fried chicken I've had.. .it's pretty non-descript taste wise but it wasn't bad, a little too oily for me. The most true-to-place restaurant at the airport. This is the A-T-L, so soul food is probably high on a visitor's list for Must Do's, even if you are just making connections at Hartsfield. I ordered up a side of greens, which were suitably salty and delish. The tiny cornbread was a little disappointing. Sweet as hoped for, but a little greasy, too. The Black girls loaded the plate with a half chicken. I pulled the white meat away from part of it, but appreciated its being there next to the other fixins, even if only to lend a full meal look to it all. Paschal's is in a food court in this busy concourse. A couple passing through from Germany was eagerly looking for McDonald's and was disappointed to find out that it was in another termnal. I was sad for them, because just like me - they were looking for a genuinely US regional lunch. I went here on a trip to Pittsburgh flying on AirTran, and was mega excited about my first meal in Georgia and Southern food! This place was alright, but I've had better fried chicken and I was hoping for something better. First off, the sweet tea is AMAZING. I had like 5 cups! That stuff is liquid crack. My salad was nothing special. The fried chicken was okay, not flavorful but not too dry. My cornbread was cold and hard. Mac and cheese was good. Steamed broccoli was your typical steamed vegetables. Our service was good and my meal was reasonably priced, but I don't think I'll come to this chain again if I ever go to the South. I'll eventually continue my search for good Southern food sometime in my life! read more

I can't comment on the food, as I never had a chance to order after twice going to the Concourse A location, waiting in line, and getting ignored, along with the gentleman in front of me. I recognize that it was close to closing, but they were still open, and ATL had had several weather delays, so the airport was still very busy. Of the 5 people behind the counter, only 2 of them seemed to be helping the customers. 2 others were just talking, and a third was using a piece of dirty steel wool to clean the metal vats right next to the food that waited to be plopped on a plate. I'm tempted to give an extra star for the older female employee that was at least attempting some customer service. The guy who was cleaning, and blatantly ignoring the customers RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM, got me so frustrated I eventually left after waiting 5-10 minutes, and went and had some airport sushi. After walking past this place time after time and spying what looked like tasty southern food, i finally had enough time to stop and grab something before a flight. I walked up and asked about the food and the woman behind the counter acted as if I interrupted her day. I first ordered the pork chop plate however when she placed one small thin pork chop on my plate, I quickly asked her to change my order to the fried chicken breast. When I did this, the woman acted like I asked her to donate her eyelids. I also ordered the yams and greens. The greens tasted like something in the pot burned and they served them anyway. The chicken had very little seasoning and the yams were cold. This place needs to take stock and remember their customers are their bread and butter. I did not feel like an appreciated patron of this business and I will not return anytime soon and would advise you to refrain from giving them your hard earned money as well. read more

I willingly walked past two Popeye's to get here. That says a lot. Their biscuits aren't quite Popeye's level, but I got 3 pieces of fried chicken, a biscuit, and two gluttonous, heaping scoops of mac & cheese for under $10 and without a wait. When you've got less than a half hour between flights, no promise of food ahead of you for another three hours, and most every other spot you run past has at least a dozen people in line, Paschal's is a great bet. That fried chicken was crispy, well seasoned, and juicy enough to require a fistful of napkins. The mac & cheese? Worth every calorie. This airport soul food is better than any "soul food" I've ever had in Austin, making me wonder why I even stick around this place. read more

You can certainly do worse than one of the several Paschal's in ATL, but it's not the best the airport has to offer, though it's probably your best bet for soul food. Even still, it's pretty average. The fried chicken hit the spot, but the greens and mac and cheese were one-note, and the overall meal was quite small for the $18 it cost. One positive aspect I can note is the cornbread that comes with the meal soaks up some of the residual liquid from the greens and makes it quite moist. Despite how it sounds, it's not bad. As the quality of airplane food has declined over the last couple of decades, the food you'll find at the airports themselves has remained consistently bad. Most often it's fast-food fare that doesn't even meet the expected low standards of the franchises' "real world" locations. And forget about the dollar menu. There are no doubt many fine places to partake of true Southern cooking in the city of Atlanta. So if this is your final destination or your point of origin, there is no need to eat here. HOWEVER ... If you are stuck in this rather large airport and the need to dine strikes you, I'd say it doesn't even matter if you aren't in Concourse B--make your way there to eat at Paschal's. I had bronzed catfish. My wife had fried chicken. I had turnip greens. I had cornbread. I had candied yams. She had a hot biscuit. Sweet tea may have been involved. Packets of honey and hot sauce were, I know it. Even with the "county fee" added to our tab (???) our total was just over $20. By airport standards, that's cheap. I lived in ATL for 15 years..............and whenever I heard the name Paschal's it always brought to mind the Civil Rights movement and the best fried chicken in town. Kinda strange to see a satellite in the ATL airport.....and they do not even have a chicken biscuit!! Anyway.....I went with sausage biscuit. Patty or Link were the options. I didn't eat at Paschal's in Concourse C although I've enjoyed every Paschal's dining experience I've ever had, which is quite a few. No, today, it was my husband who ate there, and it was there he left his partial plate. You know, the kind that includes three of his upper teeth! They cost thousands of dollars, plus he looks pretty terrible without them. The staff couldn't find them when his business associate rushed back to look, but by the time I called and spoke with Ms. Judy, they'd turned up and were holding them for us. At the shift change, Ms. Pat came on who sent Ms. Erica to meet our son with his Dad's teeth in the Atrium. Everyone I came in contact with during multiple phone calls and logistics planning was wonderful, kind, and non-judgmental, even though that couldn't have been easy. I can't thank Paschal's in Concourse C at Hartsfiled Jackson Atlanta International Airport enough. Thanks, y'all.
