Hey this place is fast , cheap and decent for what ya get. We both had number 1 Philly cheesesteak with fries and a drink. We were looking for someplace at 10:30 and they were about the only game in town.. close at 11pm. So we made it. It was very good and chatted up the cooks. They were funny ( kids)!! Must try something else next time we in town. Back in town today dec '17. It is 5 pm ish and slammed busy with phone orders! Over an hour wait for that. But the same guy with baseball cap working so I know it will be good. Yep got our food hot n ready baby. Number one Philly chzsteak and Bf has ribeye Sammy. I also had cherry lemonade yummy. Bf was still hungry so he had a Chicago dog. Ok NOW we done. So the inside is nothing fancy in any way. And it's cold in the winter like now.. very breezy. Good to sit by the kitchen. So y'all Lazy folks that keep bitchin' about delivery... get off your duff and come get it after u order by phone!! read more

Philly steaks were very salty. Their fries are those shoestring fries. Not very good. Merrillville location puts this establishment to shame. Very disappointed. Couldn't eat it.i don't think I've ever had a Philly steak that was so salty in my life. I'd rather drive a little further to the Merrillville location. They have the best sandwich and fries. If you call in an order I would say 9/10 times they won't give you a total and they almost always seem seriously put out when you ask them to call you back with one. Don't listen to these chumps that bash Philly's. The food is top tier. 5 stars, no cap. Sure, they have Wings Etc tables, but that's part of the charm. It's a cool place to hangout, and eat some amazing food. Some of the best fries in the region, and the Jim Shoe is a classic! Burgers are better than anything in that Hobart area too. Also they often have Family Feud on TV, and we all know that show is very good. Family Feud? Very good. Philly's? Very good. So come on down to Philly's, it's simply the GOAT. read more

Havent been here in years, but they used to have the best food! We just ordered & picked up two philly cheese steaks for $20.... so gross. If you want a green pepper, cheese. Tomato & lettuce sandwich with a small scrap of meat then this is the spot for you!!!! We called to express our dissatisfaction & the woman on the phone said the sandwiches are pre measured to have that little meat. Just save yourself the hassle & go to one of the other million places in Hobart. This was a rip off with bad customer service. I will say, good lemonade & good fries. read more

This place is tasty when I dine in once in a very blue moon. But for delivery tonight it was TERRIBLE. The 45 min wait turned out to be an hour 20. I had to call to find out if it was coming or if I needed to order from some place else. They said no no its coming and then it did. It was wet. Both paper bags were soaking wet although they were in a plastic bag over them which was strange. The fries were mushy soggy and cold. So were the fried mushrooms. And the gyros were greasy and wet. I had to put all of it in the toaster oven. I spent $30 before tip (lol) for this garbage. Nope not again! read more

I haven't ordered from this place in years.... After tonight's disappointment I will never order again! I called in a very simple order The girl that answered the phone sounded like they plucked her up from an East Chicago street gang. I placed my order and was expecting delivery within 45 min. After 20 minutes pass I received a call from the same lady and she said my order had been sitting there ready for pickup. I told her it was a delivery~ Not a pick up. She quickly apologized and says she had dialed the wrong number. She assured me my order was in transit and on the way. Another 25 minutes pass and there is no delivery and when I called the number there was no answer. I checked the website and they state they are open until 10. Bottom line I wasted my evening with phone calls and waiting. My silver lining in this review is I have learned my lesson. No more orders- ever again! read more

Found this place by mistake while searching for somewhere to eat lunch after visiting County Line Orchard. Delicious food, made fresh. They have a dozen or so flavored of lemonade, which is also made fresh, and is large in size! I would come back here. read more

Disappointed - service was incredibly slow, it took 35 minutes to get my cheesesteak and side, they only had a few other people waiting too. The cheesesteak was mediocre and very greasy, flavor was bland. I may be a bit spoiled with the real thing from time spent working around Philadelphia - but this just didn't measure up. read more

If i could do 0 stars I would.I have ordered from the merrillville store often and nothing but exceptional food and service. So I figured I would get the same experience. Boy was I wrong. I ordered food for 4 people when it was delivered everything was cold. My philly steak salad was 99% lettuce. This is a meal Ive ordered numberous times from merrillville and It is usually loaded with meat and all the good stuff. When I called to complain about the food being cold the manager said there was nothing he can do with out the order # he has to wait for the driver to return. HE WAS VERY RUDE like i was in the wrong for complaining that my 40 something dollar order was cold. I NEVER received a call back so when i called again they hung up and I tried calling the next day and they gave me the run around again. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. read more

Worst customer service. I accidentally called Merriville location and place our order for pickup. He walked into the Hobart location and realized our order wasn't there. So he re ordered and went to pay. All he had in cash was a 100$ bill and was told they couldn't accept it. He then said jokingly, what do I have to do go to merriville to break my 100$ bill? That's when the employee said she I really DON'T GIVE A F***! He then got offended and repeated what she said back. Then she goes on to tell him that he needed to SHUT THE F*** UP!! So when he came home and told me what happened I called to put in an official customer complaint and was hung up on twice. I can't believe that he was treated that way. We will never go back here and I strongly suggest that you won't either. I hope this matter gets resolved with us soon. read more

I am highly annoyed with this company at the moment. I place an order and was instructed that it will take as much as and hour and twenty minutes. Well, needless to say 2 hours later and still no food. I called requesting a refund I was told they will call me back. That didn't happen so I called again and they acted like they forgot that I just spoke with them regarding my refund but was insured that I will be receiving. Now here I sit and I am worried that I will not see this refund back to my cc. We will see how this goes. As for the food it usually is great and one of my favorite places to eat, this time not sure how it would have tasted since it never showed up. read more

Have ordered from here since opening, but after so many changes in cooks from the original it's not the same. The flavor of the Philly and the consistency of the seasonings hasn't been the same from order to order, and at one time we were ordering at least once a week. I got food poisoning from their food. If I could have rated this restaurant a 0 I would. Horrible customer service and the food pales in comparison to the quality that they used to posses. The manager wouldn't help after our order was sub par and had an attitude indicating that he was part owner. If you're part owner of any establishment you should handle customer service issues with tact and urgency, not disdain and apathy. As a business owner I was unsulted by the treatment we received from the Manager and will never give a penny to this establishment in the future. Horrible. read more

Beef sandwich was served on this skinny piece of bread no bigger than a hot dog bun with a plop of beef on it. First time I ever ate a beef sandwich & was still hungry. Last time the gyros was dripping in grease... Something's changed there.. either ownership or they've gotten greedy. Never again. read more

I went here while waiting for my taxes to get done. I ordered simple things. An Italian beef with sweet peppers and cheese. When I got to the table, I double checked my receipt. It said nothing about sweet peppers or cheese but said add red sauce. Strike 1. When I went back up to the counter to inquire, the girl said it would be made correctly at which point she yelled to the cook to not put red sauce on it. Strike 2. When I got my sandwich, There were no peppers. Strike 3. I went to ask the counter person for sweet peppers. I was handed a container with hot peppers. Like really? Strike 4. My husband asked for a gyros sandwich with feta cheese. There was no feta cheese on the sandwich. Strike 5. Again, how hard was our order? I had to go back to the counter to ask for feta cheese. There was only 1 other couple in the restaurant. When we sat down to eat, the ketchup for the fries was rancid and spoiled on the table. This place is lucky we didn't end up with food poisoning.
