Walked in and that Philly cheesesteak aroma hit instantly --you already know it's about to be good. Juicy, perfectly seasoned steak, grilled onions , grilled mushrooms , fresh bread with that slight crisp... every bite delivered. No shortcuts, just straight flavor. Service was on point--friendly, quick, and made you feel right at home. The place has that classic memorabilia vibe too, with walls that tell a story and give it real character. Definitely one of those spots you think about the next day... yeah, I'll be back.

I did not enjoy my food. I told my husband I wanted a Philly and if we could get it while out running errands, this is where we ended up. My food wasn't good as it lacked flavor. The meat wasn't seasoned well. Also, not enough mayo or toppings. Inside is chill, not a large space but you can dine in. We took to go. I was very surprised to see that I'd already done a review for this place. 8 years later and it's still a no for me. I just looked at other reviews and wondering if it's hit or miss because some sandwiches look really good.

I've driven by this place a few times on my way to work and finally decided to stop in. The owner was super cool and gave great customer service. Being our first time here, we were warmly greeted and the menu was explained to us. The menu has plenty to choose from, but we came specifically for the Original Philly Steak. I've never had lettuce or tomato on a Philly before, but it was actually a nice touch! The onions added flavor, though I would've loved a bit more seasoning and maybe some peppers for that full Philly vibe. For the price I had hope for more in terms of flavor and juiciness of the meat. The cheese was good and had a great melt but it wasn't enough to add to moistness of sandwich. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to ask customers if they'd like mayo or a house sauce on their sandwich or on the side since the bread is quite hearty. The fries were definitely a highlight -- fresh, crispy, and cooked to order. The also have other sides including chips, macaroni salad etc. see menu in photos The ambiance is laid-back with a chill vibe, and the 70s-90s classics playing in the background made the experience even better. The space can easily accommodate small to medium groups. Prices are moderate, but hey, it's steak. Next time I'll be trying the Works Philly Steak, which sounds like the traditional Philly with a twist (hello, mushrooms!). Checking out if you're in the area! I'm giving a 4 star because customer service.

Amazing!!! A super hole in the wall place, great prices and hot hot food that comes out with good servings. Owner was friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. Enjoyed the food and scarfed down the fries that came with it. Hot and cold sandwiches are a must in SD!

First-time visitor to Philly Cheesesteak Sub! We happened to be in the area and found this place on Yelp, so we decided to give it a try. I ordered the regular-size cheesesteak with a side of fries. The sandwich was delicious, packed with flavor and generously portioned. The fries were hot, crispy, and tasty as well. Overall, a really great experience. I'm definitely glad I finally tried it, and I'll be back!

This supposed to have mayo, lettuce and tomato and of course cheese.

Very bad food. Nothing like we ordered. Waste of $50 with uber. Saggy bread nothing just meat that taste like cardboard

This is the old school best place in EC for a Philly cheese steak. They will customize it however you like and we did the works w mayo and avo on the side. Simply delish, try the steak fries cause they're a meal by themselves.

#1 the works, no lettuce or tomato, corn dog.

Over 45 minutes plus wait for food. Absolutely ridiculous and ruined my lunch. I have 1 hour I came here with my girlfriend, she ordered fries and a corn dog ($6 mind you). Still, 45 long grueling minutes. One cook, two stand arounds. Came on a Friday, had about 4 people in front of me. Subpar customer service. Cold bread, not toasted. Quality meat, if it weren't for the customer service, I'd go back.

Absolutely delicious sandwich. Stepping inside the store made me feel like I was in Philly. "The works" was incredible and great sized portion for the money. I will definitely be back.

Passed by the place a couple times, finally stopped and this place did not disappoint. I now stop every chance I get, and every time it's 10 out 10, people who work there are super friendly. Definitely recommend giving it a try!

Photos are from two separate occasions showing how great the consistency is here. I love this place, Owner is super cool, they get local fresh bread daily, high quality meat, hot and fresh every time. This place is delicious highly recommended to anyone who loves a good Philly. They also have a full deli menu! I've only tried a hot pastrami which was also . Great food and service, will continue to come back

It was very ok--the meat was quite dry. I'll look for another Philly Cheesesteak in San Diego.

We don't use much anymore, but I couldn't quite place it not really spicy just there. they use the standard jalapeños for spice, which I would think a specialty shop like this would've had you know spicy peppers. looks like it would be a good place if you had a party to have a little area for you guests. Going in if it's your first time might be a little confusing because there's a tacos shop right there and that looks like where you would go in Giorgino's door is a solid gray that you would think would be like a back door or maybe an old school speakeasy so it's blink and end up in the taco shop. For one person, I was shy of $30 I guess I would've expected more in the way of the actual food either more flavor it would be more sandwich. More fries, more flare in the actual dish.
