For my football reference, I'm a Cowboys fan so I do not like the Eagles but I AM a fan of a no-frills classic Philly cheesesteak, and here they don't disappoint. The atmosphere is simple and casual, with Philly sports memorabilia adorning the walls, making it feel like a true East Coast neighborhood spot. The star of the menu is the cheesesteak. The sandwiches are made with thinly sliced steak, grilled onions, and melted cheese, all packed into an Amoroso roll imported from Philadelphia, which gives the sandwich its signature touch. You can choose from different variations, such as adding mushrooms, peppers, or even swapping the cheese for the classic Cheese Whiz for an authentic experience. The portions are generous, and the flavor is juicy, savory, and satisfying. Beyond cheesesteaks, the menu features other Philly staples like hoagies, chicken cheesesteaks, and sides such as cheese fries. The service is quick and friendly. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and portion size, making it a solid choice for a hearty, comforting lunchtime meal.

The Philly's Best Cheesesteak was simply amazing. The service was professional and helpful. The decor and ambiance is a buzz. People are phone walk-in and internet ordering. For a good reason. Almost purchased one to go. Next time. Delicious and hit the spot. Fresh bell peppers onions and mushrooms. Steak chopped just how ai like it thin but plenty. Will surely be back to try their other options.

Y'all love Philadelphia and I love your wall decor

A friend who works nearby brags and brags on this restaurant. She spoke so well about it yesterday that I decided to have lunch with her today. I feel totally bummed that I forgot the employee's name that took out order. I got it but couldn't do the review right away and lost it. Our visit was 8/8/25 around 2:00 if that helps. I appreciate the fact that he was so patient and accommodating. It was my first time there so my tastebuds didnt know what to expect. I tried the Philly's Best buy with chicken and their fries. I have to admit "love at first bite". The bread was toasty yet soft. The meat was fluffy but firm enough for the sandwich and the cheese wasn't overwhelming. With that the sandwich was satisfying but not too heavy and loaded down. The fries was fresh. The looked and taste like they were cut from potatoes and fried in fresh grease. Normally after eating a meal like that I feel sluggish and weighed down. Not with this one. Their sandwich was the best and I look forward to another visit. I also noticed that they provide the perfect snack for a sweet tooth. Snacks by tastykakes. I appreciate the fact that they have a self ordering kiosk. That perfect for long lines. They have android and apple pay as well. Awesome!!! Their dining area is adorable with what looked like stadium seats. The wall decor was so photo friendly. There's was plenty of parking.

Great food and service! Very nice and helpful staff to help order. The Amoroso's rolls were very fresh and really made the sandwich.

I preach this place like i was on their payroll haha, but they sell themselves. I have put on so many people to this place. So many options, lots of bottle/cans and a rotating draft menu that carries more than IPAs, nothing wrong with IPAs, i drink them but other types exist. I can always find my funky Sours on tap, and did i mention delicious fresh samiches? Dayum son! Hope nothing but good luck for them, they are a staple in Downey's DNA.

My best friend of nearly 40yrs and I really enjoy a well made sandwich. In our pursuit of great…read moresandos, we've tried Katz Deli in NYC, Brent's in Northridge and even the sorely missed but never forgotten Miller's East Coast Deli in San Francisco. So when, tasked with finding a suitable place for our quarterly lunch meeting, I entered "Jewish deli" and "Downey" into Yelp, half expecting to find the lackluster lineup of national chains that PURPORT to make good sandwiches- Subway, Joysie Mike's, Jimmy John's and the usual suspects of sandwich sorriness! Imagine then, fellow Yelpers, when Uncle Henry's Deli appeared...as welcome a sight as my gorgeous bikini-clad wifey. Both Mick and I, who first bonded over our shared love of the national pastime, immediately likened Henry's with the MLB legend who shares my birthday- Henry Louis Aaron, aka Hamnerin' Hank and the REAL all-time home run leader, Barry Bonds and his oversized gourd, er, head be damned. In his 22yr career, Aaron belied his average size (5ft 11 tall, 185 lbs) and deployed his missile-fast wrists to smack 755 homers. All while playing in Jim Crow era Atlanta. Uncle Henry's Deli, similarly, defies expectations. Who would think of putting a Jewish-style delicatessen in Downey, famous for birthing the honey-voiced Carpenters and the self-styled "Mexican Beverly Hills?!" Mick ordered a super sized Original, which is turkey, roast beef + ham plus cheddar on white. He went with potato wedges which are sizable. Me? I chose one hot, one cold. A super sized Big B (Pastrami, Bacon + Swiss on toasted sourdough, hold the pickles) and an Egg Salad on enviably well made squaw bread, hold the tomatoes. Pro Tip- From a lifetime of ordering well made sandos in every major city in America, never put tomatoes on a cold sandwich unless you want the notoriously water-dense fruit to dampen your sandwich! The only mild drawback of my food order was the side of potato salad, which in my opinion would benefit from some black pepper and minced celery. The service at Henry's is expedient- You've barely helped yourself to one of their dark wood benches when they've called your order! The restroom was, yes, as cozy as the overall venue...but sufficiently clean + stocked. Watch out, tho- The hot water runs hotter than the devil's temperature! In closing, you can take Uncle Henry's to the bank. Yes, you'll part with upwards of a Jackson, mebbe even two. But you'll enjoy the treat, cuz the caliber of food is very bit as real as the hammer (aka Louisville Slugger) that Hamnering Hank used to bash all of his home runs with.

I was in the area and I've never had a cute coffee with the latte art (so many of my friends are going to roast me for this) When I pulled up -nice private parking -a staff member was outside painting on the windows with the cutest window art. The girl had talent! This place has also given back. They helped with the LA fires last year. So bonus points for places who give back. (They gave back to the Pasadena humane society) There was a pretty big line and it was pretty loud in here, but it went by very fast. My friend grabbed a table while I placed the order. -they do have a good amount of seating. The place is pretty small though. So we sat for a minute after our drinks came out and then decided to take it to go -they have latte art that changes every month. So I like they have some rotating options. It was my turn and I ordered two sugar free mocha iced coffees. One with regular foam, And mine had strawberry foam. When I told Matthew at the counter it was really important the one drink be as sugar free as possible due to my friend being diabetic, he warned us there was sugar in the foam, but he would go as light as possible. So I appreciate him warning us and taking it serious. I picked the new hello kitty art of the month (hello kitty in a bathing suit with waves and dolphins) And my friend picked from the new monthly latte art as well, and got the Kirby character Even though it was busy, it took probably 2 minutes for our drinks to be made Matthew was absolutely great. His energy, he had a smile on his face, was knowledgeable about the menu, Matthew was everything you'd want in a staff member. Just like any coffee place, you pay and give them a name for your order, and then they call your name and you pick up your coffee at the counter. These drinks hit the spot!!! It was very trendy. They had Sabrina carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo specials and they even had a Lana Del Rey latte (cinnamon girl, named after her song) only thing that bummed me out They had a case with delicious pastries. But since I came here later in the day, they only had a couple stragglers left behind -they open at 7 am, for everyone needing their morning coffee -vegan options -free WiFi -woman owned -LGBTQ owned -they give back to the community

One of the most unique features is their latte-printing robot, Tom, who can print custom designs directly on top of your drink! Both were on the sweeter side, but still refreshing and perfect for summer. It was also my first time trying chilaquiles, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but they were flavorful and came in a very generous portion. I also enjoyed the steak and eggs--the steak was especially delicious. The Mediterranean salad was a fresh and healthy option with lots of different ingredients. For dessert, we tried the Sunshine mango mousse and berry cheesecake. Overall, One Twelve Caffe has a fun atmosphere, an impressive menu, generous portions, and plenty of cute photo opportunities. I'd definitely visit again!
