I've ate here about 5 times (because of their coupons I get in the mail) for dinner and it has been the same experience every time. The cheese steak is just OK. It's not great, but it's not bad. The meat is on the dry side and no flavor......kind of blah (I guess that is why they have Old Bay & Hot Sauce at each table), the bread is chewy and the ratio of bread to meat on the sandwich is always 50% more bread. I wish they would put more meat on the sandwich. I know you can add extra meat, but the cost is an additional $2.95. The fries are good and always straight from the fryer and hot. Me and my husband always share 1 order and it's plenty. Every time I have been here the staff is quick but not really friendly. I don't think I've ever seen anyone smile. The tables are usually dirty (which I wipe off with napkins), the condiments on the tables are always sticky and some trash and food is on the floor under the tables. I have never seen any employee wipe or clean off the tables after a customer leaves. It's not that cheap, about $11 a person for a basic cheese steak, soda and a fry. Try to avoid this place at lunch (11:30-1:00) because the shopping center it's in gets crowded from the high school nearby and parking can be a bitch! This is a CASH ONLY place!!!! read more

The last and only time I was here was two or three years ago. I still remember how full I was and how gross I felt after eating the sandwich. I ordered for takeout a Philly's cheesesteak sandwich with mushrooms, onions and peppers, onion rings and two bags of Wise Garlic and Onion potato chips for a late lunch. I also got hot peppers from the little bar that was setup with peppers and pickles. The food was very good, but I did find a hard stem from a hot pepper in my sandwich. I am so glad I bit into to it, found it and didn't swallow it. The meal also was a little expensive. This is another restaurant that I've been going to since before Yelp existed. Philly's Best has set the standard by which I judge all Philly cheese steak sandwiches for the last 15+ years. I always get the cheese steak with provolone. The side order of fries is more than enough to share with at least one other person. They are fairly close to a high school so they get pretty busy at lunch time during the school year. Felt like authentic Philly atmosphere inside with all of their Philly sports tributes and the cheesesteaks did not disappoint! Obviously do not come here if you are a health nut unless you are ready to indulge in unhealthy deliciousness. Had the Original Philly Cheesesteak and added grilled onions. Unbelievable! Perfectly cheesy. Also, the onion rings are a must to go along with your sandwich. I had them but the fries on other peoples plates looked great too. YUM. My first time having a Philly Cheesesteak and I can see myself wanting more .. in fact I wish I had one stuffed in my mouth right this second as I'm writing this review. Boyfriend and I got two sandwiches to share - one pizza cheese steak and one philly's best. They post the calories next to the sandwich and boy I probably had my whole day's worth of calorie intake in just 1 sandwich. Which means it must be frikken delicious! After about 5 minutes the cheese steak came out &they were sizzling hot. I couldn't control myself so I made a dive for it and pretty sure I burned the tip of my tongue. We asked for extra pizza sauce, nom nom nom. I'm one of those people who like to alternate between their foods instead of finishing one then starting the other. Munching between the two was fantastic. Grilled onions on top are a must. The meat was tender &delicious, the bread was soft, the cheese oozy, the sauce dripping.. what isn't there to love. Oh laaawd I want one right now!! Next time I'd get the pepperoni, and maybe ask for pizza sauce on top. When I lived in Irvine, this place was the best and only place that I would go on a craving for cheese steak. They give you so much melted cheese that the whole thing is just glued together. Mushrooms, onions, etc. are extra but adding them on will still keep your bill under or at $10. That said, their sandwiches are on the small side and won't fill up an adult male. i was born and raised on real philly cheesesteaks. from philadelphia. I was a bit skeptical. rolls are imported what tastes like amoroso rolls which is what makes the cheesesteak. the menu looks like it's straight lifted from Jim's on South street. So the cheesesteaks taste almost identical to Jim's, not at all like Pat's or Geno's. Steak is a little bland, but can't beat the whiz. read more

The boyfriend and I came here to celebrate the Phillies winning the World Series. Considering that I had expected crap from this place, I was pleasantly surprised. The cheesesteak is $5.99 and is pretty large. Definitely enough to fill you up. The bread isn't the best, but I guess you're not really here for bread. Also, they didn't ask us what kind of cheese we wanted, they just assumed provolone even though there are three options (provolone, american and whiz). I got some fries on the side but those were blah and the reason that this place does not get 4 stars. There was barely even salt on them, much less any other flavor. i am spoiled by cheese steak shop. i dunno about you, but after having cheese steak shop... ur standards on cheesteaks are really really high. now dont get me wrong. for me, 3 stars is pretty good. the prices aren't too bad.. if you get a drink u'll walk out at about 7-8 bucks. i ordered a cheesesteak w/ provolone cheese. the onions were really nice.. some weren't coked till they were soggy so there was still some crunch in them. nice, moist bread. the problem was that there wasn't enough cheese. i coudlnt' taste a lot of cheese in it. at cheese steak shop the cheese is awesome, its drippin in ur mouth. i like cheese. but what i do like here, is that you can get pickles. there are dill pickles and ones that aren't as dilled. they add a real nice kick to the sandwich. pretty good, but not the best ive had. still, if im craving for some cheese and meat, this place will do. i'll come back again. read more
