This phillys best closes at 7pm. Got there around 640. The workers were already closing down shop and did NOT seemed happy to serve me. I was rushed through the ordering process. After i ordered, i asked if the sandwiches came with lettuce. The workers told me no. I asked how much would it be to add it. They responded by telling me that the lettuce was already put away. The cheese steaks on average get 3 stars, but the cheese fries boosts them another star. Philly's Best is a toss up most of the time these days, I went a couple of weeks ago and it was outstanding, however a couple weeks before that, the meat was tough and bland. Hopefully you go on a good day. I normally get the regular cheese steak and then of course add hot sauce and eat it with a side of pickles. My husband gets the cheese steak with onions and mushrooms. Lately, we have been splitting a cheese steak with double meat (reducing the carbs =) Of course it's all void once we hit the cheese fries. The onion rings are yummy, if you are in the mood to really clog the arteries, I would order cheese fries and onion rings. The place has plenty of TV's to keep you from looking at the people you are with in case you are in a fight with your significant other (perhaps over which to get cheese fries or onion rings) or if you have a lot of ugly friends. They also recently added kids meals, my daughter digs their chicken and fries which comes with a drink. They have lots of specialty sodas behind the counter, why not be adventurous and try one instead of the standard fountain drink? Good Sandwich spot especially if you like lots and lots of meat. I don't eat beef very often so I generally always opt for the ham sandwich which is a bargain and delicious. They are very generous with the meat and they slice their ham oh so thin it is delicious. I go here often for my lunch break. Sandwiches are Great. I always get the Phillys Best. Always the mushrooms are grilled and sauteed, cheese is very good. Best Phili' cheesesteak in Long Beach. The meat they use is high quality and partners well with the Boar's Head white American cheese they use. I get one about every other week. I also tried a Frank's black cherry Wishniack that is more common in Philadelphia. I went home and ordered a 12 pack online they were so good! They carry some other Phili favorites to compliment your amazing cheesesteak like Wise brand chips and Tastykakes. Overall I LOVE coming here. Think I'll go grab one right now! read more

This place has amazing cheesesteaks. I usually just get an original cheese steak with just onions meat and cheese. All of their other sandwiches look great. They're always made to order so you never get cold food there. I can honestly say that for the most part you get what you pay for. This isn't the best but isn't the worst either. I came here with a friend one time expecting crappy food actually but the stuff that came out was actually pretty decent. The cheesesteak had nice provolone on it and it wasn't too greasy at all. The problem I had was the cheese fries. Not even an overwhelming amount of nacho cheese can save the fact they were super soggy like they were sitting out all day long. The service was nice and it's always cool to refill your own drinks but I would much rather take a drive out to places like Foggia's any day. Come here for convenience above all else. read more

Been here about ten times and it's very consistent. Great bread, tender Philly steak, and pretty quick. I read complaints about the staff, but this is a "Philly" themed place, you want someone to kiss your ass and wipe your mouth for you, go to downtown Disney! These kids get the job done. Fries are good, cheez fries are below average, and the pizza fries are dreadfully awful (STAY AWAY FROM THE PIZZA FRIES) there is only one better spot for a Philly close by, and that is John's Philly Grille in Seal Beach. I absolutely love this place. I have the cheese steak with grilled onions and it is amazing, love the cheesy deliciousness in every bite :) I have tried the chicken, it was good, but I prefer the steak. And like another fellow Yelper, their onion rings are great, especially dipped in ranch. The staff is friendly and since I go about twice a month they remember my name which is kinda cool. Also, I like that I get coupons in the mail, for buy one get one. Try it out, it is very tasty. Would give this 3.5 stars if I had the option. Great cheesesteaks, really like the atmosphere of the place, it's a real philly style joint with pictures all over the walls and a real Philly sports vibe. Seems like more of a lunch spot than anything else. I really enjoyed the cheesesteak it had good bread and a very authentic taste to it . The fries weren't great, the menu had many other sandwiches that I look forward to trying. Overall 4 stars for the cheesesteaks, 4 stars for the atmosphere, 3 stars for everything else. Until I started my diet, this place was a weekly stop for me and my family! Husband always gets a cheese steak no onions, and I get a Philly's Best (onions, peppers, mushrooms, cheese!). We order the burg-a-bites for the kiddos and we're good to go. The staff here is always friendly, and they don't skimp on the servings. I have been here twice....last time I would have given at least a 4 stars but this time only a 3. The Restuarant was not well kept up. Needs some paint and cleaning. Sandwich (mushroom steak) was good. Cheese fries were just okay and onion rings were a little over cooked. However everything was hot and fresh. It sounded like they were a little short staffed. The staff that's was there seemed to keep up with the orders. All in all I would get another Philly from here. Might pass on the sides read more
