    Mushroom Cheesesteak

Customer service was okay. They had a bunch of Eagles stuff for a Philly cheesesteak spot, which I thought was cool. The food itself was pretty good for the area as far as Philly cheesesteaks go. It's a small shop, but they have a few seats and some bar seating if you want to dine in. Overall, not a bad experience.. I'd probably come back.

Are you team Taylor Ham or Pork Roll? Whichever way you say this meat's name, the sandwich they have here is the best. Oh my goodness, it's so darn good with the thickest layers of porky ham topped with melted cheese. Best to eat this hot off the press (leftovers didn't reheat great) and devour as soon as it's ready if you can. It's so darn delicious. That may be a shocking beginning to this review to not mention the Cheesesteaks but I'm getting there. I was actually shocked to find Philly's Best out here in LA and all over Cali! We had a location of the chain in Chicago and I just loved it. I'm happy to report this Fairfax outpost delivers on their namesake. My friend and I have tried the usual Cheesesteak and one with Mushrooms - both being great. I had no onions on mine though and I recommend keeping those onions on the cheesesteak! It only enhanced the taste of it. Big portion, tasty eats, loved it but I found the hoagies a bit too tough. I didn't eat it in person though and brought it home to feast so it could be the difference in eating there vs to go. The cheese fries were pretty standard but I loved them and couldn't stop popping them. Love their graffiti artwork in the shop and friendly staff. This is on the popular Melrose so just keep in mind that finding parking may be difficult. However, not difficult enough that I won't be back again! I surely will.

I've only been to the Burbank location before I didn't even know they had one on Melrose, was super hungry so I decided to stop by! It's a little different from the Burbank location here you place your order on a kiosk and wait until your food is served! The location is pretty cool literally in the middle of Melrose so you can stop and grab a quick bite before continuing your adventure down Melrose I got the cheeseburger with lettuce extra ketchup mustard and a small amount of mayo! It was really good cooked to perfection

I've been going to the Burbank location for years, so having a Philly's Best closer to me is a win. I came here when it first opened and noticed they didn't have Old Bay at the tables or pickles yet. The owner happened to be there that day, and when I mentioned it, he made a note--and sure enough, when I came back today, both were there. Nice to see they listen. They've also got Tastykakes and Herr's chips (like the Burbank spot), but unlike Burbank, there's no fountain soda machine here--only cans and bottles. The upside is they stock some rarer options like root beer and black cherry. The menu is smaller than the Burbank location, but honestly, you're here for the cheesesteaks anyway. They've got Wiz, and you should get it--with extra--because sometimes it can be a little dry if you don't ask. Grab a window seat and watch the Melrose crowd go by while you eat--it's free entertainment. Sure, there are other places in LA doing cheesesteaks, but these are no-BS, no-highbrow, just straight-up Philly.

    Phillys best cheesesteak.

Drove by and had to stop. Really really good. Service was great and cashier was super friendly. If I lived closer I'd come back.

On occasion? An experience at a restaurant will exceed every expectation imaginable. From the personnel to the food product and every variable in between. While serving a 25 person group from Philadelphia in Los Angeles to watch the Flyers take on the Ducks and the Kings over two days, it was my job to find an establishment that could provide a little bit of home cooking for these rabid hockey fans. Insert Bob, owner of Philly's Best, from the moment we pulled up, he brought Philly to our guests, providing history on his restaurants, his family, his employees and his food, explaining that all important ingredients are brought in from Philly. He explained the artistry on the wall inside, painted by a famous Philly artist he took photos and provided them with authenticity here on the West Coast. If you are looking for that brotherly love, look no farther, if you're looking for an authentic great Philly cheesesteak sandwich ? Look no farther, if you're looking for that touch of Philadelphia home.... You have arrived.... ignore the one or two subpar reviews, some people just dont get it....its most definitely a Philly thing !!! So grateful for the 20 minutes Bob and we will see you again....

You will be hard pressed to find a better Cheesesteak than the one at Philly's Best. For the Cheesesteak, I stick with the Classic with raw onions and White American Cheese. They also make a damn good Italian hoagie, don't forget the side of peppers. The onion rings are perfection. I have been to the one in Fountain Valley and the one on Melrose. I love all of the East Coast artifacts hanging on the walls at the one in Fountain Valley. My food has always been good at both locations and the service is great.

Philly's Best Cheesesteak - steak, white American cheese, grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms and sweet peppers, Amoroso roll / 5! The cheesesteak sandwich is an icon and a personal top 5 for my personal sandwich list. I love visiting any cheesesteak shop I can find. I was delighted to discover California has a small cheesesteak franchise called Philly's Best Cheesesteaks. One of their newest locations is in the Melrose shopping area near Hollywood. The menu is full of options. But I had to start my journey with Philly's Best with their 'best'. It is a classic cheesesteak with sauteed mushrooms and sweet peppers added in. It was a very tasty sandwich. The bread, which comes from the east coast, was soft, fresh and the perfect vehicle for the flat top grilled goodness. I loved that they put the cheese on the bottom so none of it drips out. The meat, veggies, and cheese were all fresh, perfectly cooked, seasoned well and overflowing out of the top of the bun. The sandwich was quite big and was all I needed to feel full and very satisfied. I haven't visited Philadelphia in person but the decor was focused on helping to create the ambience. I really enjoyed the wall mural inside the store. The cashier was friendly and helpful. He explained what a pork roll was and now I want to return to try it. The kitchen was fast with my order and the sandwich came to me hot off the grill. I parked on the street. I don't think they had a parking lot. It is on Melrose Blvd and it can be tricky to park so be aware of that. After this sandwich, I have already ventured out to another of their locations. The quality and service was excellent at both. If you run across a Philly's Best and are craving a cheesesteak, you will not be disappointed! They are excellent!

We stopped in on a Sunday around 11:30, no line and very quick service! Finished eating and left around 12:05 so we must've lucked out with no line. We got two double cheese burgers and the loaded fries. The burger had impressively thin patties with a really nice char on the meat skirt, well seasoned, and perfectly crispy. The buns were quite small and a bit smooshed, but they were soft. It came with some fry sauce and pickles as well, overall a good burger. The fries had a good amount of toppings (cheese onions, fry sauce) and were nice and crispy. Kinda wish the onions were slightly more grilled for some extra flavor! Would probably go for plain next time as the loaded fries and burger together had similar flavors The interior has a few benches for seating and single bar type seating around the perimeter - I could see it filling up if there's a big line of people. The Big Mac stays the same. I went to LA to taste, apparently, the best burger in LA at For the Win. I paid $25 for two smash burgers and had high expectations. After all, when you click this joint on Google Maps, a fancy review pops up. Nice! However, when the smash burger entered my cave and caressed my buds, my mind instantly recognized it as a Big Mac. Therefore, my brain could hardly differentiate between a McDonalds burger, and the "best" burger in LA. I haven't eaten at McDonalds in 14 years, but my mind still knew what a gentle and warm face looks like. So overall, it was alright! As the reverend Shane Gillis says "Not Bad". The service was good tho. And the ambiance was a bit weird because the music was off. Haha bye!!!

Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. I happened to be in the area, and even though I'd already eaten, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to finally drop in. Irv's originally opened in 1946 as Queen's Burgers, located right on Route 66 on Santa Monica Boulevard in WeHo, and was deeply ingrained in LA's historic car culture. In 1970, Irv Genis bought the stand and renamed it Irv's Burgers, and it quickly became a legendary late-night spot for rock icons like Bob Dylan and Jim Morrison. By 2000, Sonia Hong took over, famously hand-drawing doodles on the paper plates alongside her signature slogan, "Just for you." After closing in 2013 and again in 2018, Lawrence Longo partnered with Sonia in 2021 to bring the brand back to life. They've since expanded quite a bit, even opening locations in Malibu and Las Vegas. On a staff recommendation, I ordered Irv's Original Roadside Burger Double ($11.25). Honestly, it was just okay. While a certain amount of grease and salt is expected with a burger, this one crossed the line into being a bit too salty and oily. On the bright side, the sesame bun was excellent, and I loved that they kept Sonia's legacy alive by printing her classic doodles on the tray placemats. While I'm glad Irv's was saved from history and is expanding, the food itself felt pretty so-so. The outdoor tables were also a bit dirty during my visit. I still love that classic roadside burger stand aesthetic with the outdoor stools, but unfortunately, I won't be in a rush to head back.

To say I'm super bummed is an understatement. I am so thankful that I happen to stop by for lunch and visit this location one last time. The same manager was there on the last day as when I went the first time two years ago. The staff there was always amazing, friendly, and the food was incredible. I think it was the Chinatown location that didn't work for them. However, the good news is that they do have three other locations and if you have never been, I suggest you check Kroft out if you love burgers, especially smashed. The other locations are in Long Beach, Anaheim, and Rancho Cucamonga. I wish them luck and I will definitely be stopping in their other locations if I am ever in the area.

Waited another 10min, while I saw other people picking up orders, so I checked in again. Same response, not ready yet. Another 10min passed by, now I'm seeeing people who came after me get their orders before me. Asked the staff again for my order status. The order pick up window person shouted my name to the kitchen each time I checked in. Finally the 3rd time they responded, they start arguing, apparently my order was done a long time ago, and it was given to someone else. It took 30min to figure out that my order had already been done and given to someone else because there was no communication between the kitchen, order staff or pick up staff. no apology, just got my food after the argument 3minutes later...Food was average, definitely not worth a 30min wait.
