    XXL Fatburger (1 lb.) Meal
    Vincent C.

Fatburger, a Los Angeles original, serves a great quality hamburger cooked to order is shear perfection. The burgers are cooked to order, the great tasting burgers is dress with fresh lettuce, onions, pickles, relish, mayonnaise, mustard, truly old fashion burger which is great. I had an order of Fat Fries, and a drink . Great meal made even better by the friendly crew.

Ordered the Original fatburger. It's a juicy 1/3 lb beef patty with a nice pickle layer and mustard on top. The large tomato slice was ice cold on top balancing a warmth to this burger when you bite into this immediately after being served. The shredded lettuce is not too loose on top and the mayo is fairly light on top. The size of the original fatburger is adequate and you can increase the size or add other add-ons too if you like. This is a nice fast food option to have if you're in the area. The staff here are friendly and efficient with orders. The foot traffic is not busy during off peak hours. Plenty of seating inside and out. Small parking lot but just enough spaces

When I first arrived in Los Angeles years ago, I remember I had my first Fatburger. With a fried egg! Today I was craving one and decided to try this location on Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood. It doesn't disappoint. The service was so nice and with a big smile. My large Fatburger was great...and huge. Very clean inside and a nice location if you want to eat in. Love the old b/w photographs of jazz and R&B music legends on the walls. They also have turkey burgers, a chicken sandwich, milk shakes, sweet potato fries...and the newer meatless "impossible" burgers. Plus right now they have breaded chicken strips and fries made with Frank's Nashville Hot Seasoning and a lot of other good stuff. There's easy free parking just outside.

Classic Large Fatburger (1/2 lb.) Meal excellent !

Pro-tip: post mates has some really good deals right now for fatburger. Each 1/2 pound fatburger is buy one get one free. Same with onion rings and vanilla /chocolate milkshake. Same deal. Good old Fatburger! The original Los Angeles smash burger. With the works. But nowadays with the Gen Zer's, a smash burger with the works is a bad thing. No, for them, the edges must be super crispy and that and that only is the defining characteristic of a good smash burger. Well youngins, I'm here to tell you sometimes pickles, relish, onions tomatoes is okay. You see, fat burger is your red and blue all American burger. And we do like our burger fat!!! And the regular 1/2 fatburger is amazing. It's juicy, and what really elevates the meats taste is the sweetened relish. Sure the edges of the smashed burger are indeed not ad crispy as FTW or easy street, but so what? Fatburger has been smashing for years before these places even gestated . That says a lot. And their fat steak fries are of course crunchy and perfectly salty. Their hand-scooped shakes are a real treat. So much better than any other fast food place. Id recommend their vanilla or chocolate or Oreo shake.

The owners are super nice and welcoming, which always leaves a good impression. On my second visit (just a regular day), the experience was a little different. The staff didn't seem very attentive to me or my guest. Nothing rude.. just not very engaged. That said, the restaurant does some really cool things. One feature I liked a lot was the spin board that displays your name when your order is ready.. small touch, but creative and fun. Because of the quality of the food and the overall vibe, I'm leaving four stars instead of something lower. The service didn't quite take it over the top, but there also wasn't anything bad enough to knock it down further. With more consistent attentiveness from staff, this spot could easily be a standout.

Specifically, I had the Wild Burger, which the menu describes as being, "6 oz of a juicy, house-ground Angus beef patty, nestled in a soft potato brioche bun. Topped with rich American cheddar cheese, crisp iceberg lettuce, and a savory bacon bourbon onion jam, all drizzled with smoky BBQ sauce." It was very flavorful, meaty, and, as I said, juicy. So much so that I wish I had a baby wipe with me. I also got the fries, which were skinny fries, and crispy, though they were still potato-y. The only bummer is that because they put the burger on the same plate as the fries, some of the fries got soggy from all the burger juice. Though it wasn't a huge bummer because they give you a good pile of fries, so losing a few isn't the worst thing. As for the place itself, it's clean, isn't cramped, and has a good number of tables. The staff were also friendly and very helpful. Also, because it's right in the middle of Melrose, it wasn't hard to find a parking spot on a side street, though it helped that I went on a Wednesday, when parking isn't restricted.

But no materials could measure what my soul's worth" - Nipsey Hussle. This establishment is run by the team that built Nipsey's legacy, brick by brick. They knew him personally, and you can tell they put their heart and soul into the experience of dining here. You might just run into them, and other famous rappers from across the country just casually dining here on any given day. The vibe? Classic Americana diner, with neon signs laced around the restaurant, and a polished granite countertop wrapped around the grills so you can see the chefs work their magic in real time. They wash the patio every morning so you can enjoy your meal with some fresh air. Usually they play classic Motown records, so you can enjoy your food to the tune of Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, The Jackson 5, and more. Blacc Sam and his team made sure to visit every smash burger spot in town, and are always making adjustments to make sure that their food, quality of service, and dining experience are up to par. If you're looking to support your local Black owned business, that takes pride in its service to the community, this is the spot. Now let's get to the most important part: the food. There's a burger for everybody here. Want something more classic and picnic style? The OG Burger is the Hussle way. Want a bit of bite back with your wagyu patties? The Marathon Burger has got you covered. Want something healthier? Their Vegan Burger is packed with flavor, and always makes me feel full and satisfied. And if all else fails, you've still got crispy wings and shrimp (fried/grilled) tossed with many sauce options. Me personally, I think their salads are an underappreciated treat that brim with flavor while keeping you feeling fresh. Is it worth the price? Given that they serve all their burgers with 100% wagyu beef, and the fact that you're being served by Nipsey Hussle's very own friends and family, I would have to recommend this place to any true Hip-Hop fan, Nipsey Hussle fan, and enjoyer of a classic American meal. I've been a frequent flyer of Boo's (since I'm over in Ktown) and also quite a few orders over the years from South Philly Experience and twice from Matu (but that's a major treat and honestly way overpriced). All of these have their own great bits about them and I love all these spots. This isn't going to be a "who's better than who" since each is different in their own right and hits the spot different ways. I got the sweet pepper steak on seeded roll with of course, Cooper's! Then I got a classic Italian hoagie (with Cooper's) loaded up double meat/cheese. Biiiiig bonus using Boar's Head meats too, top shelf stuff. The fact that they're using Cooper's is a major plus and can get a seeded roll is such a nice touch. I do love a classic Amoroso, but seeded with the cheesesteak and Cooper's gives Matu a run for its money (and saves my wallet). Of course the meat quality is very different due to Matu using Wagyu but let's be real, that's really what you're paying for there. It's a nice treat but not an every other day get your money's worth. I feel I've found my favourite cheesesteak now though! The roll is super fluffy and crunchy where it needs to be. That thing was swaddled like a cared for newborn when it arrived and still hot from Melrose. Absolute 9/10 for me. The Italian was properly loaded and as I sit here enjoying it, a nice zingy break between cheesesteak bites as I split them half and half for lunch. For speed I love some Boo's, for the grill char taste I love some South Philly Experience but overall for my favourite spot now, it's Philly's Best off Melrose. Matu again is a great quality cut treat but the wait, the cost and the amount you get is not really worth it. Will absolutely be ordering from this place again in the future!!

After we ordered 3x Mushroom steaks and a Philly's Best Cheesesteak, the owner came out with cheese samples comparing standard American (which we ordered by default) vs Cooper's American cheese samples, informing us of the latest popular taste fads in Philly. This was an unexpected delight to find out that Cooper's and the newer Amoroso sesame rolls were nice improvements over the plain roll and standard white American cheese. Cooper's gave a pleasant sharper flavor to the normal white American cheese. The finely chopped steak, mushrooms, onions, cheese, and peppers were very generous and cooked and melted to perfection. Everything was delicious and quite filling. If you are looking for a hearty Philly Cheesesteak fix, look no further. This family run business is friendly, imports their bread, cheese, snacks from Philly, and delivers with a fantastic taste of Philly. Halfway through eating it I realized they didn't put any effing pickles or sauce on it. WHAT?! How did you forget this?! But still, even without those, are you guys not smashing any season into your burger? I feel like I've discovered a conspiracy on par with the Da Vinci Code, which if I'm honest I'm not sure if that's a proper conspiracy analogy bc I never saw or read da Vinci code. Sucking a ketchup packet would've resulted in a more flavorful dinner. Licking a Hollywood blvd sidewalk for 3 seconds would give you a better sodium intake. But I digress. For health and digestive reasons (bc my digestive system is not really functional) I snuck in a radish to eat post burger. I am not kidding when I say the grocery store GMO Monsanto radish had more flavor than the burger. The sweet potato fries were the "highlight" of the meal and tasted as good as anything you'll get in a grocery store frozen aisle. There's no reason to ever go back.

A pillowy King's Hawaiian roll barely contains the indulgence, surrendering at the edges under the weight of the bite.
