We were driving from Boston to Maine and excited for some lobster rolls. We saw Phil and Mike's large sign while we were driving and stopped. The "restaurant" is really more like a home kitchen and a hollowed-out garage with tables to sit and eat. Love it! Unfortunately the lobster rolls weren't great. I have no idea how this place has 4 stars, especially with all the great lobster roll places around. One positive: they put a lot of lobster in the rolls, and they butter/grill the rolls the traditional way, which is nice. However, the rolls they use aren't traditional lobster roll rolls. Also, their more egregious mistake is that the lobster is chopped! I'm always very skeptical of a place that chops their lobster. Why not leave the large, delicious chunks of lobster intact? Why ruin it? When places do this I immediately think "are you hiding something?" Maybe they're not using tails and only the claws, which is a big no-no. Either way, the roll was below average. Luckily their rolls are only $10, which should have been a sign. But, paying the traditional $15-25 for a lobster roll would have been painful for this weak of a roll. Besides the cheap price, some other positives: super nice host, and the sweets are tasty.

I've been coming here for more than 10 years and they never disappoint. It's Phil and Mike's now that Phil is older but it's the same great food. We get the seafood salad rolls (they used to be called Poor Boy Lobster rolls) and they are the BEST. You can get 3 for $9.50 or they're $3.50 each.

Atmosphere: clean Service: friendly Lobster Roll: bits and pieces with a heavy mayo. Bun was weakly toasted. Unsure I could recommend with so many places around that give full pieces and have amazing scenery. Skip the temptation to try them all.

$9.95 for lobster roll and small bag of chips. Brilliant. The place is packed on this lovely Exodus day (Labor Day). We arrived just before the masses, which I I've. Walking up, some lady unannounced exclaimed that her haddock sandwich was great. Ahhh, shaddup, I came for lobstah. Very good lobster salad roll. A bit a mayo and no filling. I would definite come again.

    Check these out!

Went here Saturday and Sunday. We were told by a friend of ours this was the place to go for Lobster Rolls. Little did we know, that was a total understatement. On Saturday my girlfriend and I ordered two a piece-- and they were the largest, tastiest lobster rolls we had while staying in Boothbay. Not sold yet? They were half the price of everyone else's! I'm huge into customer service. The atmosphere was very friendly and inviting. We decided to come back Sunday! They were fresh out of Lobster, sadly, so we got some hot dogs. Being me, and being really clumsy, I went to sit down and eat and I dropped my hotdogs on the ground by mistake. Really good laugh, not so much to eat, however. I went back inside to order a couple more-- and the gentleman insisted I didn't have to pay and he would make me two more and bring them out to me. I was very appreciative! In short, if you're heading this way, you would be crazy to not stop here and enjoy the incredible food, people, and atmosphere. Thank you!

Stop in for a lobster roll at Phil & Mike's.

Wicked good lobster and fresh blueberry pie...this is the spirit of summertime in Maine. Phil and Mike's is a great stop along the road to Boothbay.

Lobster roll lunch.. These were $9.95 each!

We decided to stop along the road to grab a quick lunch. The lobster rolls were advertised for $9.95. Actually it was more of a mayo/chopped lobster meT versus the lump lobster. It was a great value for the money which included a bag of chips.

Best lobster roll of my life! No joking around here! Seafood salad and the haddock sandwich were great too! Cute little shack off the highway; very Maine!!

So glad we stopped here on a whim! Amazing lobster rolls and pies, plus really fresh tomato sauce on the pizza.

We arrived after a day at the nearby Botanical Garden and were ready for our first Lobstah Roll back in Maine. The Good: *Happy Hour daily 3 - 5 p.m. *Clam Chowder was fine, but I thought it should be thicker for my liking. Carissa thought it was fine fwiw. *Fairly large parking lot that could get filled during busier times of the year, but parking was plentiful upon our visit. *Full bar with everything from spirits to local micro and macro brews on tap. *Amazing views from their dog-friendly outdoor dining. They also have some indoor dining upstairs during inclement weather. The Meh: *Service wasn't friendly at all from the order or pickup booth. In fact, I'd say it was downright sassy-- and not in a good way. When we asked for our lobster buttered and not dressed (i.e., mayo) we got a giant eyeroll from the maître d'. Why she cares is beyond me, since she's not doing much beyond taking orders. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ *The bartender was slightly better service-wise, but she tends to disappear and you have to wait around for her to re-appear. *Fries were whatever, but at least they were cheap. *The Lobster was overcooked and chewy, which is disappointing. However, we will say they were very generous with the Lobster itself, as we both got fairly large pieces of claws. Pro Tip: If two people want a regular Lobster roll, you're better off ordering the large and splitting it. I'm pretty sure the large was at least double the meat of the regular, and it was only $10 more. *The roll they use for the roll didn't really hold up to the moisture, as it was fairly soggy by the time it reached our table. The Ugly: *They really have the gall to charge $2 for a tablespoon of melted butter. As if paying $40-50 for a sandwich isn't enough... 0_o Conclusion: Below avg lobstah roll with great views but grumpy Gus service. Hard pass.

I was already in a foul mood, walking in here set me into straight sensory overload. It's a bar where they sing. I am unable to get inebriated enough to enjoy bars where they sing any longer. Call me miserable, maybe I suppose. In addition to the merry old fella belting it out on the mic, we had the joy of having some drunk guy in a large group behind us try and out sing him without a microphone. He even challenged the old guy singing to a form of a duel. Anyway I was so off, I cannot remember anything about my server at all. Nothing. I do remember almost screaming and running out. I sat there trying not to lose it while my wife had the time of her life. Every song made it worse, everyone else is singing, I am dying. When the guy took a break, guess what, dickhead from the crowd goes up and takes over. Shots helped at this point and the weed is kicking in well at this point. Now I'm hungry... My food was inedible and I'm pretty sure incomplete as well. The worst flatbread in the history of flatbreads. C's looked pretty good actually so I am sure her experience was quite different than mine. I hope to never return. '25 - extra

The interior looks a bit old and run down. We had lunch here with friends and everything started out OK with ordering, but things went down hill. First, cocktails were weak and not very good. I had a margarita which tasted like straight up mix from a bottle, little or no tequila. Essentially not drinkable. Our friends ordered a bowl of chilli and a shrimp entree, while we ordered a couple of sushi rolls. Our friends food was delivered promptly, but our sushi was not served for another solid 10+ minutes. Server never came, so eventually I went in to find her after 10 minutes went by without food. She was nowhere to be found, so I mentioned this to another waiter, who looked confused, and said he would let her know. A few minutes later she came and said that sushi takes long to prepare. No apology, and by that time our friends were just about done with their lunch, when our rolls came out. All in all, the food was not pretty good, but the experience was poor. There was no excuse as the restaurant wasn't even that busy. I can't say we can recommend this restaurant, or that we would return.
