On 09/19/26, I found a 2024 Ford F150 on the internet at James Ford in Half Moon Bay, CA. I phoned James Ford and spoke with "Doc". Doc was great an up front everything. Doc told it was pretty much flawless, I was greeted by "Doc: who was even friendlier in person. Doc explained the options and features in detail. Doc also mentioned that every vehicle James Ford has on their lot has a Perma-Plate applied. I took the F150 for a test drive and decided to purchase the truck. The window sticker was $50,995.00. I stated I would be registering the truck at my home in Oregon, thus no California tax. They told me about the CA DMV requirements, I talked briefly with a male finance manager about the price of the F150 who gave me an "OTD price of $66,000.00." I asked him how a posted price of $50,995.00 could possibly turn into a $66,000.00 price? He told me because of the California sales tax and licensing, the $2,600.00 for the already applied Perma-Plate protection, and the Ford extended warranty of $4800.00....WHAT??? I told him Oregon registration..no California sales tax. No discussion of an extended warranty, and I was not interested in the Perma-Plate. He told me the Perma-Plate is a dealer added and the new price would be $53,600.00. I told him the Perma-Plate was worth no more than $1,000. 00. We agreed to a $52,000.00 OTD price. I wrote them a personal check for the full amount. I next met with Nicole who was in charge of the DMV and dealership paperwork. She told me I needed a legitimate, licensed vehicle transport company for my truck. I told her I understood. She told me the sooner the better. On 09/21/26 Nicole phoned me about transport companies she had put the shipping bid out to, but no takers. On 09/23/26 I received a phone call from Sean who identified himself as the James Ford manager. He talked to me about the truck transportation and told him I needed the title in my hand prior. Sean asked me if I owed him a cashier's check for the truck. I told Sean I had written a personal check and the check showed the entire amount had been withdrawn from my checking account. Sean made a comment about me having my truck transported by a legitimate transport company, "and not my uncle". This was very rude and took it as a challenge to my integrity. On 09/25/26 I received a phone call from Nicole about the funds for the truck. I told Nicole the funds were removed from my bank account on 09/23/26. Nicole told me the funds did not show up in the James Ford bank account and could I look into that issue. Nicole asked for proof from my bank funds had been sent. I was only able to show her an endorsed and cashed check. I reiterated that I could not arrange for transport to Oregon unless I had the truck title in my hand. Nicole assured me title would be sent to overnight. A short while later, I received a phone call from Sean telling me my funds digitally cleared their bank. I told Sean I needed my truck title before I could finalize my truck's transport to Oregon. Sean assured my he would have the title "sent via overnight delivery". Sean once again stated my truck had to be picked up by a ICC/ DOT registered company that could proved a "bill of lading", "and not my uncle in a pick-up truck pulling a trailer." I found Sean's attitude about my integrity for the transport to be belittling, condescending, and totally rude to someone who paid cash for a truck at his dealership!!! In my opine, Sean was eluding that I was a criminal!! In the evening, I received an email from UPS. The email stated my title would arrive Monday night, 09/28/29 by 9:00PM! I checked the tracking number and the package was dropped off in South San Francisco but was in Louisville Kentucky at12:00 PM! NO OTHER OVERNIGHT SERVICE AVAILABLE like USPS, FedEx? I have to be present at the Oregon delivery and depending it may be without a title, thus causing me a 2nd trip doubling my cost! 09/28/26 update! I found a shipper to transport my truck out of James Ford today. However, the title to my fully paid truck has yet to arrive at my house! So I am not able to use this shipper and the next shipper who may not be available for the next few days wants an additional $250! AVOID JAMES FORD!!

Transmission shifts better than ever and they quickly diagnosed the brake issue. Replaced parts and kept the car to ensure no further issues were present with the brakes. This car is my pride and joy and Sal took really good care of it. I expected a large repair bill but when it came time to pay their charges were very reasonable considering the amount of work they did. I would not hesitate driving across the bay to bring any of my vehicles to them. Sal also hand washed my car before I came to pick it up and for that they are forever in my favor!
