Honestly, when I first found this place on Yelp, I thought it was a family joint and I'm a little disappointed that it's a chain. When you come in it feels like a homier version of a Starbucks. For years, I've been trying to find something other than Starbucks, but in Phoenix, I found nothing that compares. If I lived here, I would definitely be a Philz Coffee regular. I don't know who Carissa is, never seen her in my life. Not familiar with them but she heated my breakfast burrito impeccably. Absolutely divine. I always (twice) order a sausage egg cheese breakfast burrito and they've always been (the last two times) really flaky and messy. I thought this was just the way it was. Didn't question it. Today I got my burrito (3rd time) and Carissa heated it up or at least I think she did because her name was on my order and it WASN'T flaky. It was perfect. I think the coffee here is okay... there's a lot of mixed reviews about Philz Coffee in my friend group. Half of them love it and the other half don't. There's a lot of customers and it gets busy here, but I don't love the coffee here as much unfortunately. Today, I got the Iced Coffee Rose because I was looking for something on the sweeter side. This place is great! The customer service is superb. The coffee have very unique flavors if you are tired of typical franchised flavored coffee. I tried a hot latte and iced latte. They are both unique in their own ways. I never liked peppermint that much but the mint leaves in the coffee actually gave the coffee special interesting flavors that I was acceptable to. The place has a warming and classic decor. The music is slightly louder but could still carry a conversation. One of the love seat was directly under sunlight, which it could get hot after a while. I've been to Philz Coffee many many times and it never disappoints. They have a good amount of seating, free wifi, and a drive through. I always get the honey haze - highly recommend! If they had Philz Coffee in Vegas I would be broke. When in Cali, this is my mandatory first stop. We were staying in Anaheim and this is the closest Philz from Disneyland (15-ish mins if you go early morning). They have a pretty good size parking lot and a drive-thru. I usually order ahead on their app to avoid waiting. My all-time favorite has been the Iced Coffee Rosé, sweet and creamy. Addicted is an understatement. However, few other favorites are the Ecstatic, Mint Mojito and Philtered Soul all sweet and creamy as well. My hubby and kids are all about chocolate. The kids have inhaled the iced Mocha Tesora each time we go here and my hubby loves the Jacob's Wonderbar. There's something for everyone and the baristas give recommendations as well. I'm sad they don't have a Philz in Vegas but it's probably best that it's a delightful treat when I come to Cali. I order Philz everyday when in town lol. Gotta have it for sure on that long drive back home. Inside is spacious. They have a few tables, couch section and a big table. Service is pretty fast, I've never had to wait long for my drink. And overall, this one is just a very solid location to get work done. Yes you're paying $5-7 (before tip) for coffee, but if you're spending an hour or two in the space, it's honestly a good deal. I'd choose philz over starbucks any day. I've always loved Phil's coffee because you can just taste the quality of the coffee they use. Unfortunately we don't have one that close to where we live but whenever we are near one we make sure to go! We had some errands to run in Fullerton so of course we had to make a stop here! I got the Philtered Soul and it was perfect! They had the AC on full blast too so it was nice to escape the hot California summer heat. We stayed for a while and got some work done which was great too! There is tons of space if you need to study or do some work and the wifi is fast so thats a plus too! I've been to the original Philz in the Mission District SF and would often buy coffee at their truck in the Marina District, so I'm familiar with their coffee. The service here is always good and my drinks always come out to my liking, but this review is mostly about the service Kayla provided to me in this visit! She was forcing herself to have the bare minimum customer. We asked her a simple question on which drink was the "Tiramisu" and which one was the "Winter Bliss" and she responded with "The one with Chocolate on top (they both had chocolate on top)" and it wasn't even that at every other location when it comes to getting our drinks we're approached very nicely and asked if everything was okay with our drinks but with Kayla it felt as if our question was an inconvenience for her! I love doing my work here, and everyone is really friendly and helpful. It's just way too cold, and there is no way to escape the cold air. I often end up leaving after about an hour, even though I would love to stay longer. It is just way too cold inside. I really hope there is a way to turn up the AC so people wouldn't be so quick to leave or try to change seats to get away from the air vents. It also makes me want to go to other places more often because I know I will be comfortable for a long time and not freeze. read more
